Hope everyone's having a lovely Sunday. Thanks so much for all your support after my post last night, what a lovely bunch you are ♥

I've just made a batch of protein pancakes to put in the fridge so I can grab a couple and serve them warm with berries and a drizzle of maple syrup. I was really pleased with how they turned out!

I got the recipe here https://mattsfitchef.com/egg-white-pancakes/ and I swapped out 10g of flour for 10g of that vanilla protein powder - it added such a lovely gentle vanilla flavour and extra protein, yay! I worked out nutrition per batch and per pancake if anyone wants to give them a try.

W2d2.
had a really bad sleep, was awake every hour and then for a couple of hours in the middle of the night. Woke up had a muesli, banana and Greek yoghurt, then had a bout of diarrhoea not long after.
I am so tired, been shopping, had a slice of toast for lunch and a boiled egg as a snack. Honestly could go to bed right now.

I'm W3D5. Having first hungry day today. Instead of 60 clicks with the pen, I'm thinking of doing 72 clicks for my 4th jab 3mg?. Has anyone done this? That would then leave me just over 3mg for my 5th dose?

Bear with me as I am not numerically inclined and I may have completely misunderstood😅but if you take 3mg on week 4 while expecting there to be another 3mg available in week 5, you may need to make other plans.

I only say this because to draw out the extra .5 on week 4, you will need to have an insulin needle ready as the kwikpens usually stop after the final 60 clicks. Then there may not be enough left for the 5th dose. (The max I could draw up on my 5th dose was 2.9mg)

None of this matters if you already have insulin needles ready and an addition pen to make up any shortfall, but forewarned is forearmed. (And if I have misunderstood, sorry!)

Day 2 is always the worst for me. So hard if you have things to do! I now plan on a sofa day each Sunday, but I know that isn't always possible for everyone. Here's hoping tomorrow is easier for you!

@DidILeaveTheGasOn your post really resonated with me, thanks for posting.

Unfortunately I don't think mounjaro is for me. I'm still struggling with side effects, though no vomiting this time, it's horrendous diarrhoea so that I can barely sit still as I have to keep running to the loo.

And my tummy gurgles loudly all the time, even just with water.

My current plan is to finish the pen (2 more full doses to go) as otherwise I'd always wonder if my body would have eventually got used to the drug. I may go for a part dose, say, 40-45 clicks as I had a little suppression on 30 but not as much as previous week when I took 2.5mg

Am gutted that it doesn't seem to suit me (no pun intended 😉)

I can understand that, I’d probably feel exactly the same. Is there anyone at the pharmacy you ordered from that could discuss changing your dosage or doing some tweaks that might help?

Fatrosrhun · 25/05/2025 18:11

I’m going to a party tonight. Bit nervous as I don’t have much in the way of suppression or lack of food noise, and I’ve been working all day so haven’t had time to eat properly either.

Seahorsesplendour · 25/05/2025 18:19

@BerfyTigot really sorry it’s not working out for you . May be one of the others might definitely worth getting some advice. Take care and hope you feel better soon

tostaky · 25/05/2025 18:44

w2D1 for me, with little SE so i will consider myself lucky. If anyone is interested i have found a great protein shake that is not too sweet not too vanilla: optimum nutrition gold standard whey, vanilla ice cream flavour - delicious 😋
ive bought some creatine and im going to try it. My 3 teenage boys are like wow! Mum! Creatine? Really?! 😂
i find i have more morivation and more energy to do things, its like a being younger injection for me, especially D1 and 2. Ive just done a hot yoga class and walked home (20 mins) and im not feeling tired!
happy sunday all!

ElsieJay · 25/05/2025 19:02

@PandyMoanyMum Must be challenging with food choices when you’re camping , looks like you’re doing very well ! Hope the sun is shining for you . 🏕️ ☀️
@DidILeaveTheGasOn Those protein pancakes sound delicious , good to have something ready in the fridge too. Thanks for posting the recipe.
Aaaah, @BerfyTigot , what a rotten time you’re having - think you’re very brave sticking with it under those circumstances. Fingers crossed your body starts working with, rather than against you - no fun running to the loo all day.

Still radio silence from Asda Online about my delivery - am thinking (hoping) it’ll be Tuesday now, at the earliest 🤨.
Up until this evening I’ve been fine, no real appetite - but was more than ready for evening meal at 6pm (chicken and lots of veggies) , so guess the residual effects are wearing off now .
(Should have jabbed Thursday night , but stupidly binned my pen in error - newbies beware! 😱).
Good luck to all the new starters , and a happy bank holiday to everyone.

Bellee11 · 25/05/2025 19:42

Feeling a lot better in terms of energy today. I think I didn't eat enough yesterday as I was worried about SE. I also injected Friday night and then didn't eat much Saturday day time, think my blood sugar crashed as I felt awful yesterday evening.

I made a conscious effort to eat little and often today to keep my blood sugar steady plus lots of water. I've probably eaten my usual amount of food, slightly smaller portions but have managed to avoid all snacks - which is my usual downfall! I have a bit of food noise but not enough to derail me...yet 🤞
I found peppermint tea has really helped too.

OhPolly · 25/05/2025 19:55

Jumping on the bandwagon here!

I started MJ again yesterday- my second time round as I had stopped at the beginning of the year due to TTC. Sadly I suffered a loss back in February and have been healing ever since.

We did decide to try this month to see what would happen but aunt flo arrived! We've decided to put it on the back burner again and I'm going to focus on losing some more weight.

My SW was 114.8kg and I plan to stay on this for the next 6 months and will re-evaluate where I am once again, towards the end of the year.

We also have a wedding to prepare for!

26dX · 25/05/2025 19:58

@OhPolly oh sorry to hear bless you! ❤️ welcome x

Elle771 · 25/05/2025 20:42

W2D4 here and still impressed with whatever sorcery this stuff contains... had a larger than needed portion of chicken stew and green veg tonight and feel like I used to when I had scoffed a massive double portioned takeaway 😱😱

Also really fancied a glass of wine but didn't have any in and didn't even think to do my usual corner shop dash... who even am I?!

Bracing for next few days as the suppression definitely wore off on day 5 last week 😬

God it's just so much easier only having to really really TRY a few days a week rather than 24/7 battling I keep thinking this must be how lifelong slim people feel all the time 🙈😅

Hello everyone, just done my first injection - eek. Been dieting my whole life and I’m 43 now and still 18 stone. I don’t want to be 44 and 20 stone. I hate that I thought I was so enormous when I was 13 stone at 20. I’d love to be 13 stone now!

I guess I have all the usual worries about whether it’ll work for me. I’m autistic and have issues with food anyway, but I needed to do something because I’m so miserable and unable to do things I’d want to do with my DD.

I’ll be following with interest and will try and keep track here if that’s okay. Reading everyone’s experiences has been really helpful.

Hi all, I'm new to MJ and only had my 2nd jab on starter dose of 2.5 on Saturday (24th).

Partner and I both went on this at the same time, as we both have gained a lot of weight in the 10 years we've been together.

No symptoms so far, which is great but I have a weird craving for sweet things such as jelly sweets and honey on toast.

My partner isn't having this he's been much better, other than off he's had the odd banana or orange.
Is this a thing with MJ? As sugar is going to convert to fat and mess up my progress. 🥺

@OhPolly Sending big love and hand holding to you for your loss. ❤️

Seahorsesplendour · 26/05/2025 07:19

Seahorsesplendour · 26/05/2025 07:21

I have managed a work out this morning for the first time in years!!! Very retro rather than going to YouTube I dug out my old Rosemary Conley DVD I used to do it during my last big weight loss which I have just realised was 17 years ago 😧how does this happen!! 😔have got an additional 4 stone to loose this time on top of what I did last time but it felt like a big step this morning!!

onwards & downwards!!!!

What are we all looking forward to wearing?
For me, outfits that show off a nice waist.

Tucked in tshirts and leopard print belts.

Dresses and ankle boots in autumn

Pendant necklaces!!! At size 18, they don't fit! I was mortified by this, bought a load of new necklaces for holiday and couldn't fasten them. So lots of layered necklaces including pendants.

Sleeveless tops

Wide leg trousers!

My wedding and engagement rings!!!! God I’d love to be able to wear them again. I had them resized twice but vowed not again. I haven’t been able to get them on for at least five years…..
