Just starting up a new thread!

Im just popping in to say hello. Still trying to figure out maintenance, but im hovering around my goal weight.

I don't want to lose any more (BMI 24.5), so ive titrated back down to 3.75 - as at 5 i was still losing, albeit very slow gradual losses. However at 3.75 ive noticed my joints are re discovering the joy of feeling slightly inflamed (especially around my periods). So now im tempted to up the dose back to 5mg, just to be free of niggly aches and pains. I'm also contemplating maybe staying on 3.75 but going up to 5 whenever my period is due. Im feeling a bit lost in this new territory of maintenance.

Really interesting that yourj oints feel better on mj. Mine too!

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 15/02/2026 23:10

Just a quick drop in. I'm really struggling with the right mg at the moment. 4mg is not enough. 5mg is way too much.
im delighted I'm in the 9stone bracket, but I'm still carrying weight all around my stomach and I just feel huge this week. :(

OrangeDonald · 15/02/2026 23:28

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals im struggling with finding my perfect dosage too. Im considering

increasing back up to 5, but spacing jabs every 10 days

OR

Alternating 3.75 with 5 every other week

OR

Trying 4.25 for a couple of weeks

Im finding that 3.75 is slightly too little for me (ouchy joint pain coming back, craving sweet foods), 5 is too much (0.5kg loss every week or two) so I'm just trying to work outball the various strategies others are using and hoping that my perfect goldilocks dose solution is somewhere out there for me

Goinghome25 · 16/02/2026 09:57

Ive been experimenting too.
Current dose every 6 days is working best for me just now.

Goinghome25 · 16/02/2026 10:30

I did 6 days as I am trying to get my injection day back round to end of the week as I am travelling soon but notice how this has helped me with end of the week munchies!

Could try dropping down to 5mg next, but, I like not thinking or worrying too much about food and just eating a bit of what I fancy like my naturally slim friends do.

I really want the effortlessly slim mindset they enjoy! I am trying to accept that I just have to pay for what they enjoy for free.

Goinghome25 · 14/01/2026 21:39

Hi just checking in.
Still on 7.5mg maintrnance dose
Still 10st 5
Would like to be 10st 1 was my lowest but I think may be a normal seasonal fluctuation not the hell that is yoyoing after a diet like I deeply fear!

Have to trust this process. Ive been at my healthy bmi since Sept.

That's an amazing weight loss, well done

WittyLimeBiscuit · 16/02/2026 14:15

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 10/12/2025 10:29

Oh I love this.

happy anniversary! And I feel you on all the non weight things too.

also planning on low dosing forever.

Fabulous, well done. I'm down almost four stone and my BMI is now 30.5 — so still a little way to go. I've had a break for other health reasons in that time and have done a couple of cruises (which usually guarantee a gain of at least 2 or 3lbs) so am v pleased with progress.
One of the big pluses has been rediscovering clothes I haven't worn for years, but couldn't bear to part with — not to mention coming off blood pressure meds and an inhaler for breathlessness

mjjourney · 22/02/2026 10:03

Argh folks I’m struggling - I’m on 10mg and have effectively been maintaining for the past 3 months (around 5lbs loss during that time) I’m between 7-9lbs away from my goal weight- I’ve dabbled with 5mg to try and titrate down but I’ve had gains on those weeks so went back up to 10mg but it’s just not hitting that way it used to

i cant afford to be paying for MJ when it’s not working - over the last pen I lost a total of 1lb!

any suggestions? I think I need to go back to tracking - it’s jab day today and not sure what mg to take

I’m just yo-yo ing around the same weight

Aaah bugger. How's your water intake going? I find when I get lazy with that and then massively increase back to 2-2.5lt a day that normally gives me a kick start?

I know you said you need to get back to tracking, but in general do you think you're doing ok? I'd give it a massive reset, track, increase water and try and get in some walking if it ever stops raining. See if that restarts you.

I'm on 5mg now and not sure it's fully working, so maintaining but not shifting anything. Now just joined a gym, so wish me luck.

Goinghome25 · 22/02/2026 13:20

Agree with the water intake comment above.

In cold weather it's difficult to drink enough water. I definately eat more if Im not drinking enough. It's easy to eat when you're thirsty.

Herbal teas work better for me in cold weather.

mjjourney · 22/02/2026 22:00

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals@Slimwannabe

yes im absolitelt shocking with drinking water- I have good intentions and fill a litre bottle in the morning but just never drink it it’s like I have no thirst 😂 but will really try this week and hopefully that will give me a boost!

im not tracking 100% of my calorie intake but im eating regular meals that I’ve tracked before - I’ll take this week to get back to basics and will report in next week :)

TrinityWaves · 23/02/2026 14:52

Hi gang, thought I'd do a quick end-of-the-month check in. After 2 months of reverse dieting I'm now at maintenance cals. I've got 100mg of MJ left over 3 pens in my fridge. I'll do 5mg p/w for a bit longer, then down to 2.5mg, then off. Although I feel I've been very lucky with minimal side effects - I do not want to be constipated forever.

My final target was 10-10.3 which was a BMI of around 23 (22.6-23.1). I've ended up a bit below this from the reverse dieting but certainly happy with a little buffer. I think I look slim but not skinny, still do have fat on me.

I'm now finding people guess my age as more accurate, whereas my very round fat face used to knock about 5 years off 😂 I'm not asking anyone to guess or digging for compliments. A lady at my hobby group was just telling me about her children and said the youngest is older than you [me] he's XX (a few years older than me - so she was right!). This is a bit reassuring as I do look older than before but before I think I just looked a bit younger.

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 02/03/2026 22:26

Argh. I jabbed 5mg on Saturday and I've eaten everything in the house twice over. I think I'm going to have to go up to 7.5mg which I reallllly didn't want to do. I can afford it. I just don't want to.

still stick just shy of 5stone weight loss, now started the gym which is insane.

ShrankLastWinter · 03/03/2026 09:59

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals blimey you’ve done well losing all that on 5! I went up to 6.25 and then 7.5 last Easter!

You can buy a 7.5 pen and do 6.25 if you want to go up more slowly.

Good work on gym. That’s probably making up hungry. Review protein and water intake and make sure both are at top?

i drink clear whey fruit flavour at the gym for an extra boost.

Im maintaining on 5 now and training a lot for some body recomposition. Want to swap 2 kg of fat for muscle. Have lost another 1cm off waist this week so think it’s working.

JunoRoma · 07/03/2026 12:16

I'm still here, still taking 3.5mg.
What is it doing: it definitely helps in terms of not getting hungry so quickly after meals, and also in terms of my general health, both physically (less joint pain, less fatigue) and mentally (less anxiety).
What it is not doing: I'm not getting any appetite suppression at this dose, and effects on satiety and food noise are minimal at best.

I'm maintaining my weight but have noticed some less helpful food habits starting to creep back in (chocolate, biscuits). I've given up alcohol for Lent, so perhaps I'm subconsciously compensating for that.

I'm still doing the strength training but have neglected cardio recently; I need to address that.

Slimwannabe · 07/03/2026 14:44

Been a while! Have been just hanging around the 6st loss for a while, and was doing well on 10mg until this week (week 6). Have had horrendous gastro side effects since Tuesday, so will drop back down to 7.5 and hopefully get back to normal! Wish me luck for no more 2am pooping Sunday AM 🤣

On the plus side I've lost 4lb in five days, I'll be sad when that goes straight back on!

OP posts:
JunoRoma · 08/03/2026 22:16

@Slimwannabe hope you feel better soon

Goinghome25 · 09/03/2026 08:33

Hello @JunoRoma glad to hear maintenance is going well. That's quite a low dose so not surprised you fancy a biscuits or two.

The weather's been rubbish for getting out and active. I'm hoping when it gets more Springlike to feel more active and less snacky.

Well done on giving up the alcohol for a bit. How are you feeling?

Slimwannabe · 09/03/2026 10:29

@JunoRoma are you able to build some choccie/biscuits into your calorie allowance for the day so that you can indulge a little?

OP posts:
Slimwannabe · 09/03/2026 10:30

Symptoms finally abated on Sunday, so jabbed at the lower dose yesterday night and now keeping fingers and toes crossed all remains well!

OP posts:
JunoRoma · 09/03/2026 14:53

@Slimwannabe I'm glad you're feeling a bit better.

I stopped tracking food intake / calories several months ago, as my preference would be to maintain without using that particular tool. I've made a commitment to myself that if my weight goes up to 70kg then I'll restart food tracking.

From experience over the past few months, I can have a couple of biscuits or a couple of chocolates without it being an issue, especially if I've eaten protein / vegetables etc first.

JunoRoma · 09/03/2026 15:01

@Goinghome25 I haven't noticed any obvious health benefits, but in non-Lent times I only drink when I'm on holiday / out / meeting with friends. The first couple of times I went out in a group and everyone else was drinking I felt slightly awkward, but only briefly.

Slimwannabe · 10/03/2026 07:17

@JunoRoma that makes total sense! How do you find maintenance without tracking? I feel quite scared of stopping calorie tracking when my time comes, which is ridiculous bc after 15 months of doing this I absolutely know what I can and can't eat in a day!

Do you feel that it's quite intuitive now, and do you still feel a bit restricted in your calorie intake or that you'reable to "enjoy" food more now?

OP posts:
JunoRoma · 10/03/2026 09:04

I'm mostly eating similar meals to those I ate during the months when I was tracking food intake. I still continue to be conscious of portion sizes (use a scoop to measure out oats etc).
