Just starting up a new thread!

I eat yoghurt most days, but not as part of an intentional effort to eat fermented stuff!

ShrankLastWinter · 11/01/2026 22:34

Ive been vaguely aware this is thought to be a good idea for a while, but haven’t pursued it. I suppose I have coffee everyday and a bit of dark chocolate quite often… do they count?? I often eat yoghurt or skyr or quark. Sometimes kimchi.

OrangeDonald · 11/01/2026 23:14

Ive found the mounjaro has helped to turn off my cravings for UPF, i can now look at a packet of crisps and no longer immediately start eating them. My new years resolution last year was to get to a healthy bmi, mainly through overhauling my diet to reduce UPFs, increasing healthy high protein foods and veg, and do some exercise. And it all worked brilliantly (mostly thanks to the MJ). I learnt to make my own sourdough, as our usual loaf of hovis is a UPF nightmare and i didnt fancy getting a bigger mortgage to buy endless loafs of artisanal sourdough.

This year my aims are to titrate down the doses till i find a dose where my weight doesn't fluctuate up or down too much, and I'm considering maybe adding in eating more fermented things or even homebrewing kombucha or something.

Goinghome25 · 14/01/2026 21:39

Hi just checking in.
Still on 7.5mg maintrnance dose
Still 10st 5
Would like to be 10st 1 was my lowest but I think may be a normal seasonal fluctuation not the hell that is yoyoing after a diet like I deeply fear!

Have to trust this process. Ive been at my healthy bmi since Sept.

Julesni77 · 15/01/2026 13:31

Loving all the maintenance success stories - might be me by next xmas lol but I am not stressing about my 0.5lb a week on average now as its all going the right direction albeit painfully slow! I am now 14.7 down from 19.10 and I would love to get to 13 stone and stay there

Is anyone else planning to maintain at an overweight bmi? I have been obese my whole lift so even that seems amazing

All those 0.5lb losses will add up loads over time! Im trying to maintain at bmi of around 25. I think if i lost anymore weight i look slightly too thin if that makes sense. I plan to remain on maintenance dose for ever, at the moment I'm titrating down trying to find a dose where i dont lose any more, but equally still get the MJ willpower to not binge. My current BMI is 24.4, so ive lowered the dose again in the hope it helps me not lose anymore

ShrankLastWinter · 15/01/2026 21:02

@Julesni77 I thought getting to 83kg would be a dream. Then I thought I’d maintain about 78. Or 75 which is the edge of a healthy BMI for me and I reached at the end of July. Now I’m 70kg and BMI 23.6. Slowly really adds up!!

Like @OrangeDonald I don’t want to lose more now so I’m cutting down dose. Went from 7.5 to 6.25 at end Nov but will only do 5 this week. I’ve only been losing 1kg a month since the summer, but that is still definite shrinkage as the months roll on.

JunoRoma · 16/01/2026 15:23

@Julesni77 my initial aim was to get my BMI in the 25 to 27 range. But I also wanted to get my waist measurement below 90cm, which for me and my body shape turns out to be a BMI between 24 and 25.

Goinghome25 · 19/01/2026 20:46

I am hovering at the top of healthy bmi.
my face looks too thin. Just took 5mg so we will see ...

Ive been on 7.5mg for a while now.

Jules youre doing gteat. Every 0.5lb adds up.

JunoRoma · 20/01/2026 10:54

Having tried 3.25mg for a month, I've decided to go back up to 3.5mg. I haven't gained any weight (yet) but I'm now getting hungry 2-3 hours after a meal, even one high in protein and fibre. It's distracting and annoying.

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 23/01/2026 14:52

Just a quick check back in, great to see everyone's news. Trying to get to 9stone something. Was 10st 0.1lb argh. Finally crept from 4mg to 5mg, the appetite suppression is huge though. I'm targeting 9stone 9lb, but not sure if I'll stop then or go a little lower.
My issue is I still see big me in the mirror.

Slimwannabe · 26/01/2026 01:56

Unlike everyone else who seems to be moving down, I've just given 10mg a go after a whopping 40 weeks at 7.5mg. Interested to see how that goes, and have a 7.5 in the fridge in case it doesn't sit well.

Starting to lose all sense of where I am with weightloss at this point, perhaps now is a good time for a mental reset! Currently sitting at 13st 8.5lb, so still a way to go, but hopefully on the home stretch! A boost is much needed after a lazy weekend and a chinese takeaway (i'm blaming my period).

So, to help the reset, current stats:

SW: 273lb
CW: 190.5lb
GW: not sure!
TL: 82.5lb

Still eating around 1800cals per day, still doing 10k steps per day, and mainly trying not to feel like a failure for a bad overall weightloss in December. I am excessively hard on myself every day that I don't hit cal or step targets, so trying to be a little more forgiving towards myself in 2026!

ShrankLastWinter · 26/01/2026 06:21

@Slimwannabe you’ve lost so much weight!! You are quite right that you need to be more forgiving to yourself - or rather to appreciate yourself more this year.

Also, you’re increasing your fitness. 10 000 steps a day will do you no end of good.

What’s your BMI now? Could you set some interim goals?

You are doing amazing!!!

82lbs off. Read that again!

You might be on a bit of a plateau just now, sometimes your body needs time to adjust to your new lighter weight, but keep going and it will start moving down again soon.

I had 2 long plateaus and they felt neverending at the time but look how far you have come!

You are doing it and we are all still here cheering you on x

You're so close! I bet you'll be in the 9s by February, easy!

Would it help adjust the mindset to take some photos and do a before-and-after comparison? I know what you mean though, I don't look very much smaller to myself (yet).

Slimwannabe · 26/01/2026 10:24

Thanks so much for the encouragement @ShrankLastWinter and @Goinghome25! BMI is currently 33.7, so I think 29.9 might be a good interim goal as then I will be (just) in the overweight BMI category. I think that will be another 22.5lb to lose. So maybe 4-6 months time (oh man, I sure do miss that whoosh of weightloss from the early days!)

This is me! Have 9st 7lbs as a target and have been hovering around 10st 2lbs for what seems like aaaaages!

have been doing a mix of 10mg and 5mg from my 10mg pen just to stretch it longer and to prepare myself titrating down the doses- willpower has been required!

TrinityWaves · 27/01/2026 17:42

Hi gang, love reading all the updates from everyone!

I'm slowly reverse dieting and taking 5mg and berberine. Initially I suddenly started gaining, I now think I actually hit a 'plateau' (I guess my body didn't know I wanted to suddenly maintain!) and then the extra calories caused a couple of extra lbs to go on. However, it's levelled out over Jan and I'm below target to allow a buffer.

shrinkingfi · 30/01/2026 22:42

Advice anyone? I’m a total chump! I’ve been using up scraps including a couple of pens I panic purchased when the prices increased. Now I can’t find a pharmacy prepared to supply me with 7.5mg as my last prescription was back in September. I didn’t think this one through! Does anyone have any suggestions? I still have 12kg to lose. Doh

Slimwannabe · 30/01/2026 22:47

@shrinkingfi will going to another supplier and sharing your last prescription work? Possible that they won't honour that as it'll be outdated though.

Just checking in. How we all doing?

10.5st this week, The 2lb gain from Christmas is gone 😀 bought new jeans in size 10 and they fit perfectly 🩷

Stilll on 7.5mg as it just feels right for now. Otherwise nothing to report

OrangeDonald · 05/02/2026 21:57

Im just popping in to say hello. Still trying to figure out maintenance, but im hovering around my goal weight.

I don't want to lose any more (BMI 24.5), so ive titrated back down to 3.75 - as at 5 i was still losing, albeit very slow gradual losses. However at 3.75 ive noticed my joints are re discovering the joy of feeling slightly inflamed (especially around my periods). So now im tempted to up the dose back to 5mg, just to be free of niggly aches and pains. I'm also contemplating maybe staying on 3.75 but going up to 5 whenever my period is due. Im feeling a bit lost in this new territory of maintenance.

Lindy0070 · 07/02/2026 09:30

Morning all!! It’s been a while since I’ve checked in but I’ve been keeping up with all the brilliant progress and maintenance posts. Well, I felt I should post today as I’m finally in to the 11 stone bracket 😂🙌🏻. I haven’t weighed for a while as I have stayed the same after a small gain over the Christmas period since the end of November. So today I’m chuffed to see I’ve lost 2 pounds. I’ve taken 61 jabs so still a bit to go yet.

SW 213 lbs
CW 167.4 lbs
TW 161 lbs
Total loss 45.6 lbs
BMI 27
7 pounds to go!

I don’t know whether to review my target once I get there? I think I’ll still be overweight as my belly is clinging on for dear life!! I had a HRT review with my doctor earlier in the week so I’m having to up my Utrogestan tablets as the jabs affect how it’s absorbed. Something else to be aware of!
Anyway, have a great weekend. I don’t know about you but I can’t wait for the bloody rain to stop and be able to get out more.

ShrankLastWinter · 07/02/2026 10:03

Wow @Lindy0070 almost there!! Nice the scales have started moving again.

@OrangeDonald I’m down to 5mg and still losing very slowly but have also been wondering about how low a dose I want to go to. I feel much better in my whole body on the drug and notice a difference compared to 7.5. Inside of elbows a bit sore to the touch again. I imagined I’d try to maintain on 2.5 but maybe not. I guess I’ll try 3.75 eventually.

JunoRoma · 07/02/2026 22:56

@OrangeDonald 3.5mg seems to be working well for me at the moment.
