Can't believe I'm now a size 6!

Gone from 11st 5 to 7st 9 in 8 months (mounjaro) and I still cannot comprehend that I fit into my size 6 jeans that I've had for over 10 years. Has anyone lost a huge amount of weight and struggled to accept they are a size they never thought they'd be? Even when I owned the jeans, I was always a bit too big for them. Now they fit me perfectly. One thing I am sad about, none of my clothes fit me anymore even the ones I love!

Congratulations.
Do you think it’s possibly time to stop now then op?
What are your plans going forward?

SilenceInside · 30/04/2025 17:11

I presume you are very very short?

Tbh, I have lost 8st, but cannot relate to what you are feeling, as I am at a weight and size that I have been many times before. I need to lose another 3.5st or so to get to my target weight, and that will be a weight and size I have been before too. So, a very different journey.

Look on Vinted or eBay for smaller versions of clothing that you liked and want to wear again. Sell the ones that don't fit to fund it.

SheldonandAmyFarahFowler · 30/04/2025 17:12

How tall are you OP?

HollidayRanger · 30/04/2025 17:20

I enjoy buying new clothes. Are you maintaining?

LionAndEmperor13 · 30/04/2025 17:41

Yep same. Lost nearly 4 and a half stone, and am now a small size 10. Stopped MJ a while ago but kept up my good habits and continued losing.
Still struggling to get used to this new, much smaller body, but it's absolutely brilliant!!
Went from 13 stone 6 to 9 stone 1. (I'm 5 foot 3 so I was well into the 'obese' category). But also have no clothes now, need to go shopping!

MounjaroMounjaro · 30/04/2025 17:47

Well now I feel rubbish because I'm wearing size 12 and was very proud of myself! I can't even imagine myself in a size 6. What a great weight loss.

I've lost about 4.5 stone. I can't remember the last time I was in a 12 - at that point it was a medium but now it seems to be large! Is that right?

Congratulations, though - it's such a fantastic drug and I'm so happy I heard about it on here.

FlatStanley50 · 30/04/2025 17:47

Yes, I'm finding it very weird and a shock every time a size 10 fits me. I've gone from 11 stone to 8 stone and a 16 verging on an 18 to a 10. (I'm very short). I've bounced between 12-14-16 all my life so this is new territory and it is taking some getting used to. I'm also getting people commenting now, which I also find disconcerting. All my clothes are falling off me but I don't have much of a clothes budget and I am also scared of buying too many size 10 clothes in case this doesn't last! Also I'm hoping to lose another 1/2 stone or so.

doodleschnoodle · 30/04/2025 17:51

Yep it definitely takes the brain time to catch up. I still feel like I’m being ridiculous when I buy a size 8, like who are you kidding?! But then it fits.

FuckityFux · 30/04/2025 18:03

I’m 15 stone and my GP won’t prescribe it for me because I have no other weight related health issues. How on earth do fairly normal sized people get a prescription? 😳

By purchasing online I'm afraid.

Feelingmuchbetter · 30/04/2025 18:06

Pay for it, that’s how people are getting a prescription! The NHS can not afford to fund everyone’s lifestyle choices as well 😠

I paid for it privately. And I wasn't fairly normal sized, I was obese.

If you have a BMI of 30 and no health issues that would exclude using this medication then you go private through a chemist that sells it (Boots, Asda, med express etc), the BMI requirement is lower if you have a weight related condition like diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure.

Titasaducksarse · 30/04/2025 18:08

I'm nowhere near end goal BUT I put some shorts on at the weekend that I have in a 14 and a 16.
16 was so big I could get on and off without undoing. 14 fitted perfectly! I seem to be smaller than what the scales are saying too.

I’m heavier than you and I pay for it, you won’t get it on the NHS unless you have another issue as well as being overweight and even then it’s not easy to get, it has to be prescribed by a specialist clinic, not your GP.

SilenceInside · 30/04/2025 18:11

@Moveoverdarlinif the OP is around 5ft tall then her starting weight would put her as obese with a bmi of over 31.

You get it prescribed via a private prescription from an online pharmacy.

You can see some of the most popular safe registered pharmacies and prices on the monj.co.uk site.

I started at around 15.5 stone, if your BMI is over 30 (ie, obese) then you can get a private prescription for it. It's not cheap, but definitely worth it if you can afford it. I've lost around 2 stone in 3 months so far, another 2 stone to go before I get to a healthy BMI.

FuckityFux · 30/04/2025 18:15

Thanks for replying. I’ll look into how to order an online prescription. I had no idea you could get it if you weren’t massively overweight. 😳 That’s amazing.

unsync · 30/04/2025 18:22

I've worked quite hard on matching my perception of me to the physical reality as this has been the thing that sabotaged my previous efforts. It was still a big moment for me though the first time I could go and buy off the rack jeans in M&S and not have to order online to get the largest size.

I would say if you are into an obese BMI, that IS massively overweight!

Zippidydoodah · 30/04/2025 18:29

Well I’m feeling very fat right now and quite miserable with it.

Zippidydoodah · 30/04/2025 18:30

I just worked out my BMI and it’s 29.5 🙄

WithOnlyTheMemories · 30/04/2025 18:37

I would love this prescription, I'm just in the 'bit chubby' category that doesn't get a prescription, but would still take a LOT of diet and exercise to get anything close to the weight/shape I would desire. Ho hum.
