I’m 62, and never thought of my large belly as a ‘memo belly’!!! Probably because I have always had a large belly! I have a similar amount of weight as you to loose. Fortunately I am able to walk, although just 30minutes before breakfast - most days.

I am w6d6 and have lost 1 stone 2 pounds so far, but I have stayed with the 2.5 pen. I will be increasing to 5mg next time though because I seem to be eating a bit more, but still loosing but maybe slower.

I make many garments for myself so frequently take measurements. From the start I have gone down
2” from bust
2” from waist
2” from hips (full hips)
2 1/2” from biceps!!!!!!

in addition- the awful pain in my knees, particularly my right knee has more or less gone; I have not had a migraine headache for 7 weeks (normal headaches but not migraines); not taken co-codamol for over 7 weeks (embarrassed to say I had a slight addiction to codeine). So in addition to weight loss, I am so happy with mj!!!

Oh that’s interesting about your knees. I’m on the waiting list for a knee replacement and can’t walk much because of the pain. Also pain in my feet - not sure if that’s arthritis or from walking weird from having a bad knee. I’d be delighted if some of that pain went.

Potato1234 · 13/05/2025 14:37

For anyone on here with young kids/babies or to anyone who just doesn’t sleep! - have you noticed the MJ less effective when you are very sleep deprived? Some days like today it just doesn’t even feel like I have the injection in my system. I make sure I have healthy snacks to run to but they aren’t cutting it. Food noise is back. I am terrible for being unhealthy when I haven’t slept, but noticed the MJ is not effective on no sleep!

mounjaro and wegovy are said to reduce inflammation in the body so that must be what has helped me. I have never been to see about my
knees but know it is some form of arthritis or osteoporosis, but obviously not as bad as yours, but it will be great if it helps you

The counter always returns to 0 once depressed, regardless of how many clicks you turn. It doesn't extend out to 1 - that marker is just showing you 60 clicks so if you do fewer then you won't reach the 1 marker.

Ok Thankyou!

That’s fantastic-some amazing health benefits there. You should feel so proud of the changes you’ve made

I’ve decided to stay on 2.5mg but the pen I have ready in the fridge is 5mg. Does anyone know how I can do an accurate half dose? Thank you!

For a 5mg pen - 60 clicks will give you 5mg, so 30 clicks will give you 2.5mg.

saxonyv · 13/05/2025 17:06

For anyone trying to convert kgs to lbs or stones etc you can do it on an iPhone calculator, click on the little calculator sign on the bottom left and it says convert, you slide it across and then click on the preset things to change to whatever unit of measurement you need
(works for others units too like length)

Uninvitedleaf · 13/05/2025 17:15

Here’s a weird one. I am usually an absolute magnet for mosquitos, if there is one within a couple of hundred yards I can guarantee it will home in on me. I react badly to bites so I know when they’ve got me. Haven’t had a single one yet this year despite being in the garden loads, thought I had spotted a couple of the wee b**s but just assumed the dry weather wasn’t suiting them so not many around and that’s why I was being spared. However DH has just pointed out he’s got three bites! Given that they’ll usually bypass him in favour of me I am wondering if yet another unexpected effect of the wonderful MJ is that it’s making me less attractive to them.

Any thoughts? It’s not because I’ve lost loads of weight as I’m only about 7-8lb down!

QS90 · 13/05/2025 17:39

@Uninvitedleaf Don't know whether this is relevant to you, but could be down to hormones rather than MJ. One of the hormones which fluctuates throughout the month (I think oestrogen), makes the blood sweeter. So you might get bitten more when you're due on.

Doesn't explain your poor husband getting bitten though!

Definitely yes! Was scratching my head wondering why I was hungry, when not due a jab, when I realised I'd only had 5 hours sleep 🙃 The 4yo had been up in the night with his hay-fever / asthma. Still less hungry than I would have been with no sleep AND no MJ though.

Or 30 clicks from your 5mg pen.

Edited to add - apologies, I saw this was already answered.

Ah bless you, I have all this to look forward to. Day 2 of no sleep. I’ve had half a punnet of grapes and raspberries, instead of a sharing bags of chocolate. Silver linings 😆

Uninvitedleaf · 13/05/2025 17:57

@QS90 there might be something in that. I’m post-menopause but I have had a couple of episodes of bleeding which were investigated and turned out to be due to polyps. I don’t have a medical background but I think these can be influenced by too much oestrogen (and fat=>over production of oestrogen=>polyps as I understand it) which is one of the many reasons I want to sort my weight out. Maybe the MJ is regulating my oestrogen production already which would be great!

Yes 100% although it's not that the MJ isn't working. It's due to the fact that your hunger hormone (ghrelin) is higher as a result of sleep deprivation. And your satiety hormone (leptin) is lower. So I think it just increases the food noise so the MJ doesn't seem as effective.

My little person isn't a great sleeper, never had been, and the days after a bad night are so so so much harder. Plus our body is desperate for energy so makes us crave it... and what's the simplest form of energy for our bodies to use? Delicious carbs and sugar 🫣 it's a dieting disaster but be kind to yourself. Making better choices like you have is definitely the way forward without depriving yourself of food 👍🏻🩷

I really hope it gives this benefit. I am always their favourite in any group of people.

Pepperwaggytail · 13/05/2025 19:13

I successfully added a day to my weekly dose. So I’ve gone 8 days instead of 7. I actually had zero hunger yesterday but in the evening started to feel unwell (eldest son has had a nasty chest infection the last week or so) so I’m not sure if it was the lasting effect of the Mounjaro or that I was just poorly!
I’ve been in bed all day feeling shite, but jabbed 5mg no 2 at lunch time because I didn’t want to push it out another day this week.
I’ll do the same next week so I’ll be ready for my holiday (Wednesday jabbing) in a few weeks time. Hopefully I’ll still have great appetite suppression.
Thankfully I’m feeling a little bit better now, just very tired, but annoyed I’m missing my gym sessions this week!
Hope you are all doing well 😊 I’ve been reading the updates lying in bed today.

fox919 · 13/05/2025 20:08

Today has been okay and I’ve made mostly good food choices. Lots of water.

I am feeling more knackered than usual this evening though, and I’ve got a slight headache so planning to have an early night. Hope everyone’s had a good day

God there must be something in the water today because I feel wiped out too. Although I am on day 1 of my period so that's always pretty exhausting lol.

Ive managed to avoid the chocolate tho today so that's a win 🙌🏻💪🏻

QS90 · 13/05/2025 21:03

@sausageroll90 Me too! 🙃 Looking forward to the "loss" when the bloat goes.

Did have a sugar craving last night, but it was sated by 2 inches of baklava, rather than the traditional entire family-sized block of Cadbury's.

SaddlebagSal · 13/05/2025 21:13

Touching back on where people are losing weight from - I’ve lost about half an inch from my waist but otherwise no change to how my clothes are fitting. But my wedding ring is suddenly very loose, even though it it’s warm weather when normally it would be tight.

Interestingly, my ankles are also a normal size. Normally they puff right up once the temperature goes above 21°C, so I’m claiming this as another MJ win. A cure for cankles!

Haha yes I was more than satisfied with 2 lindt balls (one each of pistachio & white choc) whereas normally ood be joining you the family size block of Cadbury 🫣

Honestly I cannot believe that there is Easter chocolate still in this house and I'm not even bothered by them. And I've got caramilk digestives here and I had an alpro protein yogurt by choice - who even am I?! 🤪💪🏻

Squiffy01 · 13/05/2025 21:54

@SausageRoll90 there is still Easter eggs in my house as well! Absolutely unheard of.
