Hi again everyone, I’m feeling grumpy this morning. Over the last two days, the scales show a regain of half of my 4lb loss since I started. I’m W3 D3. I know I can’t have gained that weight, but did I really lose it? I feel bloated and gassy. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Having successfully used a Glycerin suppository yesterday (to help things along), It’s not constipation.

I always expected to lose slowly, as my appetite for meals was small before I started, I’m a vegetarian and haven’t eaten ultra processed food for years, with the exception of plain biscuits. Mounjaro has knocked-out my snacking.

1 year without a period and woke up this morning with cramps and a period! Sooo delighted (at 55).

If you haven’t had a period for a year, it’s a post menopausal bleed. It’s crucial to get yourself checked it. It’s taken so seriously, the NHS have to give you a scan within 2 weeks. It’s often fine, but very important to get it checked.

Thanks, I will do. I'm off on Wednesday so will attempt to get a GP appt then.

I’m on W2D5 - checking in!

Potato1234 · 27/04/2025 15:58

Interesting people talking about periods. I have PCOS so my cycle is never the same, and I got mine this week without my usual pms symptoms. I do worry what life will be like without MJ. It is a switch for me so some days it works and others it doesn’t. The days it doesn’t, I’m just back to my usual self where all I think about it food. I can’t imagine I’ll magically be able to change my eating habits when off the MJ. E.g. the food noise will return - I wonder if people do return to “normal” after being on it for months, or if it does change things

Pandimoanymum · 27/04/2025 16:04

Well, finally!
3 weeks in and I have lost nearly 6lb. All in this one week. Didn't lose anything week 1 and 2, negligible appetite suppression and felt a bit deflated after seeing lots of other people losing loads in the first week.

I have to admit I did take 3.75mg for my 3rd dose, as was getting no real side effects either on 2.5mg, and I thought if nothing else, it will be a gradual increase towards 5mg. So maybe it's that. anyway, I'm happy.

so, starting weight 17 st 5.8lb
current weight 17st.0lb

Pandimoanymum · 27/04/2025 16:15

I've totally confused myself with doses now though, can someone help me work roughly what I've just given myself?! I stupidly messed up counting the clicks and it wasn't a full dose. I was going to count the clicks, and then top up to 3.75mg from the spare dose. But now I don't know how much I've had today. Idiot 🙄

So overall in my three weeks I've had 2 full doses and one 3.75mg dose. So obviously this 4th dose wasn't going to be a full dose, as not enough left in the 2.5mg pen (not counting the spare dose).

From what I understand there are:
2.5mg
2.5mg
2.5mg
2.5mg
then the bonus dose is about 3.75mg

so that means you have 2.5 and 2.5 left if you use it for the golden dose too. If you don’t then you have 1.25 left. I think this is right

Sunshineandpool · 27/04/2025 16:28

Hello - can I join? I've signed up to Juniper and took my first 2.5ml on Friday. No side effects so far.

I take medication for my mental health and this has caused my weight gain. I eat healthily all day and then when I take my meds at night my brain starts demanding carbs.

So far I have not felt hungry at all in the day. I have been making sure to eat protein and vegetables. Friday night I ate nothing after my meds and yesterday I ate some chocolate which was a different choice from normal. Will be interesting to see where this goes. Really hoping it counteracts my meds!

Hi 👋 I’ve just done my second jab but will weigh on Tuesday at slimming world, which I’m doing alongside.

I want to rejoin SW too. I'm.trying to do fasting during the week and bring more relaxed at the weekend which I did OK at pre Monj. But it would be even better if I was doing 1/3 of my meals lowest possible GI too. Want to build in as many good habits as possible without counting calories for the rest of my life.

I feel your pain. I might take 3.75mg for my 4th dose next Friday.

Hello, I’ve just ordered some. It’s a starter pack of 4 x 2.5 mg pens and 4 x 5 mg pens. BMI has just ticked up to 30 and I have arthritis in one knee. The arthritis in one knee is what has stopped me exercising as much in the past couple of years, and this combined with peri seems to be what has caused the weight gain.

Wow, where did you get this from and how much did it cost?

SquishyGloopyBum · 27/04/2025 17:41

Hello thread 3!

and yes @ZigZagJigsawwhere did you get this starter pack from? I’ve not heard of it. I started at BMI31 too.

TheNinthLock · 27/04/2025 18:03

I wonder if @ZigZagJigsaw is in the US? As I understand the MJ there comes in 4 individual pens - one per dose.
So a starter pack of 4 x 2.5mg pens and 4 x 5mg pens would be the same as the starter packs you can get in the UK of 1 x 2.5mg and 1 x 5mg pens?

saxonyv · 27/04/2025 18:06

Feel rotten today, took the golden dose last night, slightly more than 2.5mg as it was 0.7.
Woke up with a pounding headache, drank loads but still there, had weetabix for breakfast, a Gregg’s pasty for lunch and then just wolfed down a mars ice cream, and literally counting down the minutes til bedtime as I can barely keep my eyes open.

So strange as usually I don’t eat very much after Jab night, could just be a coincidence and maybe I’m coming down with something.

But I’m a bit gutted at having ordered a 2.5 for my next pen now as worried the suppression won’t be strong enough if I managed to eat all that today!

I can try tomorrow but Mondays are horrendous to get through. I'll maybe move days about and try Tuesday... Although it's been about a year (I think) from my last period I've still been getting hot flushes in the last few months, although not as often as before. It's definitely a period as I have the normal cramps as well but I will get it checked out. Unsure whether to take my 4th dose now as feeling rotten today...

Me too

I read somewhere GPS recommend 18 months on it to embed new eating habits

SunnySpellsAhead · 27/04/2025 18:27

Had an e-mail today from Oushk saying they will be starting video consultations from 1st July where you have to stand on the scales etc. Bit fed up as it will be a faff (DH retired and always around, not telling him as he'd probably whinge about the cost, plus he's stick thin and doesn't understand the struggles). Suppose this is the way things will go for all suppliers eventually, I get it.

Do any other providers offer a chosen delivery day? Also, is it possible to actually order multiple pens - have seen posts where people have stockpiles but surely the pharmacy wouldn't allow it? Or do they order from different suppliers at the same time?

I understand your struggle
I'm Wk4 D2 and yesterday was weigh day.
I lost 0.5lb in a week.
I've stepped on the scale today (as I do with daily but just take Saturdays as my official weigh in) and had lost 1lb in 24hrs.
Weight loss isn't linear, and if you step on the scale on the wrong day, it can appear really deflating. I've attached a copy of my weight loss trend for you to see x x x
