I’ve been thinking about what I would say if/when someone comments on my weight loss and asks how I did it. I am not entirely comfortable sharing that I’m on MJ but nor am I comfortable outright lying. So I’ve decided to say something along the lines of ‘Sorry, I don’t participate in unsolicited discussions of my weight or my body. I’m trying to break the bad habits ingrained by diet culture and focus on how I feel, not how I look.’

I'm going to say "eating less moving more". It's true. MJ has made this manageable for me, but I'm still doing it. 😊

SaddlebagSal · 09/05/2025 17:36

Well done all you fast losers. I’m down 7lb in six weeks, and have only just moved up to 3.75mg dose. Still taking it steady and still motivated. Just wanted to post to encourage any other “slow and steady” peeps that it’s ok if you loses are more moderate.

SW 14st 1.5lb
CW 13st 8lb
TW 10st 7lb (top end of “normal” BMI for my height)

HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow · 09/05/2025 17:44

@SaddlebagSal your journey sounds similar to mine. I've gone from 14 stone 3.8pb to 10 stone 11lb . It took 16 weeks. I've been maintaining for 6 weeks now and am sitting nicely just under the 11stone target I set.

Currently still taking 2.5mg as I have some, will see how it goes.

Good luck 😊

Doidontimmm · 09/05/2025 18:37

Slow & steady here too

SW 11st 11lbs
CW 10st 12lbs
GW 9st ish

Thats 13lbs in 6 weeks very happy with this pace.

I’m week 5 (just taken my first 5ml) and have lost 6lbs. Nice to see someone else who hasn’t lost loads in a few weeks and is disappointed because they wanted more 😂🤣

Yeah I find it worrying the amount of people on Facebook who lose a stone in 3 weeks then complain cos they're not losing quicker...

Uninvitedleaf · 09/05/2025 20:20

I’m almost at the end of week 4 and have lost about 7lb (official weigh in day is Sunday) so same kind of rate for me too - averaging between 1-2lb per week works for me. No issues with anyone who wants to lose faster, we all know what suits us, but I know from past experience that I will put it straight back on if I don’t change my attitude and that’s what I need from this, not just weight loss. Slow feels like it will be more likely to embed habits for good!

Schoolsec · 09/05/2025 20:46

I’m W4, just had jab ( DH administers as I just can’t 😱) . Been very thirsty and quite grumpy today, really don’t know why. Have lost 7lbs in 3 weeks. Clothes feeling a bit looser but have a definite lack of energy in aerobic classes. Go three times a week but have Hashimoto’s which seems to cancel out everything I do 😡 moving up to 5mg next Friday!

Potato1234 · 09/05/2025 20:50

Has anyone noticed that they maintain/put on weight around ovulation? I know I temporarily gain about half a stone before my period, but noticed similar this week mid cycle

Crikeyalmighty · 09/05/2025 20:55

@Cerberus1808 yep that’s what I’ve been posting about - I’m not keen on an awful lot of what feels like competitive weight loss. it’s not a magic fat melter, so clearly plenty of people have been eating next to nothing and hence the obsession with maximum suppression or had an awful lot of water weight to shift first or are really big to start with so are in a huge defecit because they use far more calories just by existing. It grinds my gears when people say they have only lost 10lbs in say 6 weeks and are disappointed - that is normal sustainable weight loss

saxonyv · 09/05/2025 21:05

I lost a big amount in water the first week but since then have maintained a steady loss of a smaller amount,
but I’m happy with that as I don’t want loose skin, which I know will happen for me if I lose too fast as I have poor elasticity anyway.

its fab that people can lose a good chunk in a small amount of time but its not realistic for everyone and we need to tune into our own bodies (well suppose we know that seen as not tuning in has got us all here in the first place 😬)

I find this site is much more supportive and healthy than any Facebook groups! They can be really toxic. Loving our little group here, and it’s so good to be able to talk about Mounjaro!

Exactly. I find it astounding the amount of people asking really basic questions, there's so many people that have absolutely no clue how this works, it comes across that they just want the quick fix and haven't done research into this serious stuff they're injecting into their body...

I agree with your comment about FB I searched for groups on FB once and what I saw was so much scare mongering and people abusing this for all the wrong reasons I couldn’t look at it in there again I just stick to this group

Raffles134 · 09/05/2025 22:09

Wk 6 D1
Started my 2nd pen which is 5mg. Last week I got 0.7ml from my bonus dose and had good suppression all week so wanted to stay on the same amount.
Did 35 clicks so hopefully that will be about the same dose?!

QS90 · 09/05/2025 22:10

Yes, it's very normal - it's because oestrogen causes water retention. If you look at a graph of how oestrogen fluctuates over a month, your weight, all other things equal, will follow it.

Still annoying though! I have short cycles (24 / 25 days), so half the month I'm bloated either due to pms or ovulation 🙄

Yes this is what happened to me 3 week plateau (even slight gain) which was very demotivating at the time especially as I didnt make the connection as I am post meno on HRT. I was IF and only eating 1200 cals a day and thought typical that I would be the small % it doesnt work for. Then after a heavy period (not had one for 8 years) rapid weight loss lb a day - assuming this is largely water retention rather than fat. So I expect this pattern again and just have to look at the pattern over time rather than weekly/daily fluctuations. My clothes fit much better so I am going to focus on that.

SausageRoll90 · 09/05/2025 22:38

Just did my first 5mg dose. Preparing myself for a bit of a rougher day tomorrow (fatigue, bit nauseous & headachey) but hopefully the 5mg will be okay longer term 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

MissCreative · 09/05/2025 22:41

I agree, weight loss for the sake of being competitive, is often negative. Especially if the intent is to make someone feel bad or diminish someone else's accomplishments.

That said, rapid weight loss, can also be sustainable. Research shows that people who lose weight quickly, aren't any more likely than anyone else to regain. This is particularly true, if people make sure they are conserving muscle by eating enough protein.

https://www.bmj.com/content/349/bmj.g6267

Ultimately, different things work better for different people. Which makes sense, as we are all different!

Gradual weight loss is no better than rapid weight loss for long term weight control, study finds

A new study has challenged the common belief that losing weight gradually is better in the long term than rapid weight loss. The findings showed that regaining weight was just as common regardless of the speed of weight loss. Over the past decade diet...

Oooof - sorry to hear about surprise period 😬 No wonder you were surprised after 8 years!

Whenever I am having hormonal bloat (which is frequently, as before mentioned 😒), I try to carry on carrying on, and focus on the day where all the bloating goes, and I magically "loose" 2lb overnight!

Oh man I’m still I’ll 🥸 so far all four kids are ok and husband ok still so I’m wondering if it’s a bug or the mounjaro. It has coincided with the sulphur burps (wrank). Has anyone else been ill on it for this long? I’ve cancelled my travel for this week and booked into next week but hoping that I eventually recover from this and don’t go on shitting everywhere forever 😂 don’t know what to do about next dose on Monday if I do become well before then….would people leave it for a few days to get through work and then take 2.5 again on the Friday when I’m back home?

I’ve had very bad diarrhoea this week, lasted 4 days. Plus indigestion and had to ‘sleep’ upright in bed. Felt better today. Am going to delay my next dose a few days and halve it to 1.25mg for 2 weeks. I’ve had more than enough suppression on 2.5mg and lost over a stone in 3.5 weeks.
