What did you say? Did you give a reason? 😊 I’m saying I e started running again 😎

I just said I’ve been calorie counting and cut back on treats - which is technically the truth!

Crikeyalmighty · 07/05/2025 18:54

@saxonyv it is indeed though the truth - the injections are ‘an aid’ to help you with that - I lost 2 stone 4 about 18 months ago using herbal GLP1 appetite suppressants ( tablets) - they were an aid to make me want to eat less - still had to do the 1100 calories a day stuff to actually shift that . WLI are no different - it’s not melting fat away by carrying on exactly as before -

Bellsize · 07/05/2025 19:03

I haven't had any SE moving to 5mg - except one day of sulphur bumps, farting (just wind - no smell!) and indigestion which I had on 2.5mg. Also I get very cold for the first day.

I am now not hungry (I was so hungry on week 2) and am doing IF and either OMAD or 2MAD......However when I do eat I dont feel stuffed or full as others have reported not being able to eat a full meal.

I am off all snacks, choc and wine (easily would have been1000 cal a day) - and the other day my DH opened a tube of Pringles - I had about 3 and didnt want anymore which is unheard of for me - choc/snacks when I start usually just get obliterated no stopping until they are gone.

QS90 · 07/05/2025 19:21

@Bellsize With Pringles do you usually find... that once you pop, you can't stop??

@Throwmoneyatit yep - I had it every week on days 2/3/4 - felt great on 5/6/7 !! It’s one reason I’m doing 2 pens and out- I’m carrying on with GLP1 appetite suppressors ( herbal tablets) and willpower . I can’t take having chronic heartburn and nausea waves - never got diarrhoea though - I’m on week 5

What are the tablets you’ve used? Wondering if they would be good for maintenance….

PinkCatInATree · 07/05/2025 19:36

Wk4 Day1 and my second pen has just arrived too (opted to stay on 2.5 as it is doing what I wanted ... Stopping me snacking and allowing me to enjoy smaller portions. I am not calorie counting or regularly weighing as I have 75kg to lose so there is no rush. MJ is to help me make the changes (sadly wishing for it to melt by magic hasn't worked).

I've said before that the WLI seems to be giving me the support I needed to do the better eating and more moving thing that people not on WLI think is the answer. Well I knew that was the bloody answer, I am not thick ... But it appears I am wired differently from a lot of people when it comes to food / greed / comfort / hidden eating.

I have said the same to my dh. I'll do this first month and see how I get on.
I have forced a can of tuna down with a bag of Walkers French Fries this afternoon and hauled myself to the gym, it stopped my heartburn anyway 🤣 and it means I have managed to eat something!
I just genuinely don't know if I can cope with a complete lack of food for the forseeable, I've too much to do and my motivation is going downhill as I'm just so tired! I'm only on day 5! What were days 5/6/7 like for you?

Crikeyalmighty · 07/05/2025 20:00

@Throwmoneyatit I was much better on those days actually had quite good energy and no heartburn or nausea - but in all honesty I don’t need suppression - I can eat purely on willpower at 1100 cals. I’m not a snacker — my problem was always far too big meals in an evening ( I like cooking) and half a bottle of wine several times a week , sometimes 3 -

I did lose 2stone 4 before just using herbal appetite suppressors as and when - and to be honest at the rate im
losing it now - what I preferred was less side effects , and the fact I took every day , so it wasn’t in me all week and if I had to do something important work wise or holidays etc I just didn’t take - it wouldn’t work for everyone as it just doesn’t take away food noise- I still had an appetite, it did however make me feel satisfied on much less -

Crikeyalmighty · 07/05/2025 20:02

@Throwmoneyatit I hate heartburn to be honest and I think if I had been projectile vomiting or awful diarrhoea I’m not sure I would have got past the second jab!!

Is it the heartburn that’s stopping you eating? Or the MJ? I’ve had similar issues like you with barely eating and having no energy due to lack of food. I force myself to eat something every few hours, yoghurts, nuts, mainly protein. Then make an evening meal and probably have a third of what I would normally eat. This still is only 500-800 calories per day, but it’s much better than not eating at all. I know it’s hard when you don’t feel like you can eat but it has helped me. I guess you are only 5 days in so maybe give it some more time for your body to get used to it

The heartburn is reasonably easy to handle. I think it's the mj, but I'm also not sure if my stomach hurts because of the lack of food/hunger or because it's shocked when I do eat something!
I'm probably exisiting living on about 100 cals including the milk in a couple of cups of tea a day. I'm usually a tea and latte drinker and I'm forcing the tea down for a few extra calories 😆 my new favourite drink is blackcurrant squash 🤨
What are you having in the evening to eat? How are you managing breakfast? Can you get it down? x

Crikeyalmighty · 07/05/2025 20:34

I’m eating Greek yoghurt with berries about 11.30 am and a dinner at night of about 750 cals

Reading some of pp experiences, I agree! Thankfully nothing like that for me, however I don't think I'm eating enough to be able to suffer with either of those. I'm starting to worry now that eating too little will be detrimental 😳

Hmmm... if I decide not to continue with mj, I will look into appetite suppressors. Feeling rough just isn't something I can easily handle, it reminds me too much of morning sickness!
What are you managing to eat?
For me, it's my breakfast on the way to work and evening snacking. I've been going to the gym since December and lost a whole 1lb so I need something so that I'm not completely wasting my time 😆
I don't drink alcohol often but I work around the corner from Greggs where their lattes happen to be my favourite. I've even gone off those 🤣

Crikeyalmighty · 07/05/2025 20:56

I only eat twice a day- either berries and 5% Greek yoghurt at about 11.30 or a good porridge pot ( I like Wolfs) with a banana and a small handful of almonds - or a protein drink like M&S s chocolate milk ( which is delicious) or. 5 cheese oatcakes and hummus or baba ganoush and a few cherry tomatoes - then take my appetite suppressors half an hour or so before evening meal ( do give me slight tummy ache for about 20 minutes) but that’s it - and eat a normal meal but not huge quantities in an evening about 7pm - I try and make it protein heavy and just salad or veg - little carbs. Stuff like marinated fresh salmon with Asian slaw and rocket and tomatoes

if you do come off it the herbal tablets are around £39 a month and for me just take the edge off feeling hungry - they have a GLP1 element to them as it’s berberin so I do still get the burping occasionally and that ‘full’ kind of feel - worth a try at that price if needed. I like the fact I can take as and when - don’t get me wrong if you don’t get side effects and have problems with snacking and food noise I can see MJ really does the trick but I’m clearly just one who does get them even on 2.5 - ok it’s only 3 days a week but after5 weeks I’m still getting them and I know myself enough to know I can do it without - just need to keep it up for about 7 months!!

Crikeyalmighty · 07/05/2025 20:57

@Throwmoneyatit it’s funny you mention morning sickness- it reminded me of a very bad hangover with no booze consumed and added heartburn

Crikeyalmighty · 07/05/2025 21:04

@Throwmoneyatit yep keep off lattes - 120 cals or so a time - I developed a taste for fresh peppermint tea and green tea- helps with the nausea and heartburn too. If you are finding food hard I honestly recommend the chocolate M& s shakes - think they are called Bol - about 250 a big bottle- very high protein and very nice

Newmum110 · 07/05/2025 21:04

My non scale victory, I've started doing couch25k & was running today & my knickers literally fell off me, thank God for tight pants or they would have been around my knees!!!!!!

Glad to see the NSV as I've weigh in 4 tomorrow & completely bloated with my period so I know it's going to be a very disappointing weigh day.....

Cerberus1808 · 07/05/2025 21:21

Non scale progress: have ditched the bra strap extender.

And out of curiosity I just tried on my size 16 jeans. They're tight and got a massive muffin top but they did do up 🎉

Yeah I was like that at the beginning, just having a couple of coffees and nothing else all day so now I force myself to eat. I don’t have breakfast or lunch just snacks like I said before always protein. Evening meal is just my usual go to meals - tonight was fajitas with quorn chicken but I had 1 instead of 3/4. I think sometimes you’ve just got to force yourself - I do always feel better after having a glass of water and something little to eat. You’ll probably end up giving up if you continue on 100 calories as you’ll just be exhausted

That did make me giggle! Especially because the same happened to me while I was gardening last weekend. Had to duck into the shed to hoik them back up so the neighbours didn’t see 🤦‍♀️

Ohhh I tried berberine a few months ago as it was recommended as part of PCOS supplements and unfortunately it didn't agree with me at all. But then I do suffer with IBS and it absolutely set it off. I've heard really good things about it tho so I was gutted my body didn't like it. On the flip side my MJ side effects seem to be manageable... Different things suit different people don't they ☺️

Lardybumbum · 08/05/2025 01:06

I’m on my third week of MJ.
I’ve lost 13lbs in that time, mostly from my face. I’m now worrying I’m going to lose weight only from my face and look like a chubby skeleton. I have lipodema and it’s quite bad in my upper arms and knees.

anyone else with lipodema notice any changes in their lipo areas?

Pepperwaggytail · 08/05/2025 07:24

Blimey - I started 5mg on Monday -I’ve lost 1lb already! 😎 I am a bit headachy though this morning, feel a bit like I’ve got a mild hangover (but not drinking alcohol)
