I feel the same. If I hadn't been on MJ I definitely would have had a few binges and already have fallen off the wagon. But I just feel confident that that's not going to happen this time. It's just so freeing 🙌🏻

Edited

I just completely agree! It just feels so good to feel hopeful. Feeling good instead of miserable then in turn inspires me to make healthier food choices and improve myself in other ways. It feels like food is no longer in control of me and in control of my emotions

fourapples · 02/05/2025 22:03

Evening all,
I've just taken 5th dose. I immediately jumped from 2.5 to 5 and now after reading that many of you are doing 3.75 instead of 5, I"m worried I'll have bade SE. Has anyone else here gone straight to 5ml on W5? I was noticing that I wasn't having much suppression on 2.5 for the last 2 weeks. I also just maintained weight the last 10 days - no more loss. I guess I'm just worried about vomiting / nausea.

Is anyone else struggling to cook dinner for their kids/families? My husband works away so most week nights it's just me and the kiddos and I'm finding planning and cooking difficult. I think because I'm not very hungry, I'm not motivated to cook which then makes dinner time seem like a real chore. I work full time so getting home and making dinner without the reward of enjoying it isn't very fun. I feel bad as I feel like I should be motivated to feed my children without the reward of enjoying it myself. This comes across really selfish but I don't know how else to explain it. Cooking dinner isn't always fun when you're tired but at least you get to enjoy it. But not that's not the case, I just don't want to cook at all! Please tell me I'm not the only one struggling with this.

QS90 · 02/05/2025 22:22

@fourapples I went straight from 2.5mg to 5mg, as recommended by my supplier. Did my first 5mg last Sunday night, and have had no side effects. Didn't have any when I started on 2.5mg either though tbf. You'll probably be fine, lots of people are x

Absolutely agree with the posts about being freeing and hopeful and food not being in control ❤️ and honestly it’s so affirming and comforting to finally feel like it’s obviously not just a character failing of having no willpower etc!

@fourapples I know what you mean about struggling with the motivation to cook, I feel similar.

SausageRoll90 · 02/05/2025 22:24

@fourapples don't worry that you've gone straight up - I planned to do the same but decided to use part of the golden dose to top up my 4th and final 2.5mg because I felt the suppression wasn't enough on 2.5mg so I'll be 100% doing 5mg on week 5 next week.

You're also not alone in the struggle with dinner for the family. We usually do a menu for the week which is basically me who comes up with food ideas and do the big food shop each week. Although we do take it in turns to cook it's been hard because I don't fancy anything ever so I've not done a menu plan or big food shop for about 2 weeks now and it's not been ideal. I'm guna force myself to make a menu over the weekend because I always so better when I've planned even if I don't fancy it. It's definitely hard tho.

SusanSometimes · 02/05/2025 22:32

I've just injected the golden dose from my first pen. I have no problem injecting the needles that come with the pen, but I didn't like pushing the longer needle into me - urrgh. It was easy enough to extract it from the pen, and I got exactly the 0.6ml dose.

I'm staying on 2.5 for another month because I'm still getting really good suppression and I've had no side effects so far. I'm going to weigh in tomorrow and am hoping it'll be about a stone off since I started on 5th April.

Potato1234 · 02/05/2025 22:36

@SusanSometimes we have the same start date 🥳

TC4 · 02/05/2025 23:04

Just done my 6th jab and my first definite 5mg (I think I was a little under last week as some went on the floor) so let’s see what this week holds 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

RhaenysRocks · 02/05/2025 23:10

Great to be able to swap experiences with people all around the same stage. I used my golden dose as an extra week but I don't think I did it brilliantly, got less than 0.6 and have definitely lost suppression the last two days so I did my first 5mg jab tonight which is a few days early. Had no SE so far so hoping this will be ok. I think my additional needles are a bit too big..might order some finer ones. Totally agree with what others have said about feeling like this could work. So many occasions when I could have made a bad choice and just wasn't remotely tempted.

StrikeForever · 02/05/2025 23:34

SausageRoll90 · 02/05/2025 18:31

Also - day jabbers how long until you start feeling the effort the new dose? I'm usually a before bed jabber so not sure what to expect having dose it at 5.45pm... I was hungry and ready for dinner before taking my jab and less than an hour later I feel quite sick. But not sure if that's jab related or just because I need food 🤔

I inject on a Friday afternoon. I have done three 2.5ml and a 3.75ml so far and I have never felt anything odd after them.

I have a friend who went straight from 2.5ml in her first 4 weeks, to 5ml on W5. She had no side effects with either dose.

TC4 · 03/05/2025 00:02

I saw a tip on something that if you are weighing everyday and could get disheartened by the fluctuations to log your weights in an app or something that works out your weekly average weight and I just realised my Fitbit app does this so I’ve just put my weights in and it’s a really positive thing to see and my weekly average is on a lovely trend downwards

lovechocolate · 03/05/2025 06:44

Morning all! Lost 2.5lbs this week- was hoping for a bit more as I had done my last 2.5ml but then twisted the needle past 1 till it snapped and then could inject the golden dose.

10 lb loss in the first 4 weeks plus a stone I’d already lost just before starting the injections- happy with 1 stone 10 lbs loss in total though. Lovely that people are starting to comment on my loss and I can now see my cheekbones again. Almost half way to my goal weight! 😀

@fourapples I feel the same about cooking- no motivation for it at all!

Ofcoursehesthefkingfarmer · 03/05/2025 07:06

iamsoshocked · 02/05/2025 19:35

I took my 5th jab yesterday and decided to go for the full 5mg dose.
I wish I hadn't! I've felt very queasy all day and haven't been able to eat hardly anything. I've had a protein bar, and some mango. Lots of water to drink though as it was all I could manage.
Next week I'll try a 3.75 dose I think.

This is how I felt when I took the first 5mg but it did level out quite quickly and I haven’t felt half as bad this week.

I’ve got great suppression which means that I’m quite often forgetting to eat until I feel light headed. My job in very mentally taxing so once I get stuck into something, if my stomach isn’t telling me to eat I can go a lot of hours sitting working without realising. And then I eat and it makes me feel horrendous. So I’m trying to get into the habit of having nuts or fruit every so often to help the hunger.

Same here. It gets to about 4pm and I get really dizzy and need to lie down. It’s difficult getting the balance

Squiffy01 · 03/05/2025 07:48

agree with others above saying how freeing it is.

It’s like it’s impossible to fall off the wagon. It’s like it’s just not a thing anymore so I don’t have to worry about having a meal out and then eating for a week after cause I’ve ruined it. Or thinking oh I’m going away at the end of May there is no point starting now.

it’s just so different, I’m on it, the end.

Think I mentioned above that medino approved me over here. Took a week from first buying for pen to arrive, once I was approved over the phone pen arrived next day.

Made homemade pizzas last night, had my friends two children for a sleepover and that’s what they all wanted. I had a few small slices and one garlic dough ball. Previously that would have been me saying f#ck it and then eating whatever food I had in for the rest of the evening and I had the thought that that is what I would normally do. Yet not the slightest desire to actually do it. So strange but so amazing.

hope everyone enjoys their long weekend.

wlinewbie0425 · 03/05/2025 08:19

@Squiffy01yes, that’s exactly how I feel. I was very conscious that due to my bad side effects day on Thursday I hardly ate and I needed to get more real food and calories in me yesterday - I even mentally gave myself permission to have whatever I liked - managed to eat my portion of dinner (which I already mindfully made about 2/3 size of DHs unlike in the past) and had a glass of wine. I managed to finish the food albeit slowly but I did not manage to finish the wine and didn’t feel able to have any dessert or snacks later as normal. I couldn’t cheat if I wanted to. And because I am worried about side effects like hair loss I know that I must make sure the calories going in are worthwhile.

GRCP · 03/05/2025 09:13

Conundrum of the day - dare I buy something in a size 12??? I’m 8lbs down but still a 14…

@lovechocolate do you mean you managed to do the golden dose in the normal way with the pen (rather than extracting manually?). If so, how? Do just twist hard but past the 1 if you want a bit more?

SurreyGirl69 · 03/05/2025 09:34

Raffles134 · 02/05/2025 20:23

Same! I was only getting a small amount with each pull of the syringe. Had to pull it out and try again, then realised if I kept the syringe pulled all the way back it gradually dropped in until I got it all.
We’ll be pro’s by the time we finish! 😆
I bought the separate syringes & needles so once I’d got the liquid out I put a new needle on before injecting myself. I’m a wimp & was worried it would be blunt & hurt! 🤣

Pull back the plunger of the empty syringe to the volume marker you want to extract, before you insert the needle into the barrel. Keep the tip of the needle in the liquid and use a 'push-pull' technique to gradually exchange air for liquid. Once you have the volume you need, stay inside the barrel but move the tip of the needle out of the liquid, up into the air gap, pull back a bit of air. Withdraw needle , change needle if you are going to, and carefully push up plunger until you see a small drip, to prime your needle, check volume is what you wanted , then - bobs your uncle - inject!

Well I am delighted - after a depressing and frustrating 3 week plateau - I have lost 1lb per day for the last 3 days - after moving up for 5mg.

IncessantNameChanger · 03/05/2025 10:23

I get my new 5mg pen today. I wish I had counted the clicks as I don't want to do the full 5mg. With switching supplier delays I'm 11 days past my last dose.

Are they all Kiwi pens and the same clicks?

lovechocolate · 03/05/2025 10:28

@Summerbay23 yes, I had read somewhere here that you could do that. I almost gave up as it was hard to twist but then it worked. Hold on to the whole part that comes out and twist it really hard.

Dobbysdad · 03/05/2025 11:07

Morning all, weigh day here at the end of week 3. 3.8lbs off, 16.2 in total. Last dose of 2.5 taken today. I'm looking forward to moving up to 5mg. Do many people notice a jump in their weight loss when they go up a pen?
