I have just done my 4th injected and opted for 3.75ml, as my suppression has been low this past week. Despite having to push the syringe into the pen twice to get the correct dose, it injected into me very easily.

Is it a bad idea to store my pen at the back of the salad drawer? I saw somewhere else that it shouldn’t be kept at the back of the fridge as it could freeze but wasn’t sure if that applies to the drawers.

I’ve been worried about this too, keep mine on the top fairly close to the front because my fridge does freeze stuff at the back. Every week when I go to inject I worry that it’ll have frozen even at the front of the fridge!

Was this via a 2.5 pen?

I’ve just started on a new 5mg pen but took 3.33mg.

I’ve had barely any suppression on the 2.5mg so glad I ordered the 5mg. Only lost 2kg since starting 4 weeks ago and trying not to feel envious of the bigger losses on here.

OTOH it kind of reinforces my decision to use WLI because of how hard it seems to be for me to lose weight.

I’m really hoping for better progress over the next 4-5 weeks and that I get a good balance on the 5mg of some suppression and no side effects!

Week 1 -8lbs
Week 2 -3lbs
Week 3 -3lbs
Just taken my 4th dose of the 2.5mg pen. Have started to notice a bit of a slow down in weight loss in the last few days - think we are about to approach the part of weight loss where I have to just grit my teeth against the incoming plateau and hope for that whoosh effect.

I can't quite believe it but my tracker says that I have reduced my waist size by 3 inches. When I google if this is possible, there is an article that says "The volunteers reduced their waist sizes by an average of 1 inch for every 4lb (1.81kg) they lost" - I've lost 14lb, so a 3 inch loss does sound possible. I do feel a lot less bloated!
I can see that my clothes (which were previously overstuffed from denial about what size I was and refusal to buy bigger sizes) are fitting me better and I am feeling more confident in them than I was.

Have got on very well with 2.5mg - good suppression and very manageable in the way of side effects - I get dizziness and occasional mild nausea as my side effects.
I have decided to stay on 2.5mg for pen 2 and am hoping the suppression sticks and I can stay on 2.5mg for pen 3 too.

I have improved my diet bit by bit over the past few weeks- more protein, more water and more veg. Had one glass of wine at one point which knocked me for six (almost instant headache and made me feel hungry) so am avoiding alcohol. I certainly could do with getting more fibre in in terms of my longterm health. Luckily constipation has not been one of my side effects.

I've only taken 4 doses, but I am feeling really glad that I started on this Mounjaro journey. It is the first time that 3 weeks into a "diet" that I have ever still felt hopeful, felt confident that I will continue to lose weight and not felt starving!

SaddlebagSal · 02/05/2025 16:35

Hello, just checking in. I started off as a Thursday jabber but I felt the effects wear off so took the dose early on day 7 not day 8, so currently a Monday jabber! I managed to extract a golden dose, but about 0.7ml which would make about 2.9mg. Since then I’ve been feeling grotty as I have a migraine flare up. Not unusual for me and these days it manifests as a sicky feeling headache with occasional visual aura that lasts a few days.

Anyway, I’ve been feeling positively Not Hungry and have had to force myself to eat. I have a 5mg pen waiting for me but I think I’ll do less clicks and take 3.75mg as a step up. Unless I suddenly feel a lot better and hungry by Monday!

Current loss is 5.5lb, fine with that as slow and steady and like pp am not actively counting calories (yet), but trying to make better choices, smaller portions and no snacking. Side effects generally minimal, except for veering wildly from one end of the Bristol Stool chart to the other. Definitely in “don’t trust a fart” territory.

Potato1234 · 02/05/2025 16:41

Well done to everyone on your losses. Doing my 5th jab tonight. It’s supposed to be tomorrow but last week I did it a day early. So tomorrow will be officially 4 weeks. I cannot believe how much weight I’ve lost - 20 lbs! I tried on a dress I bought 5 weeks ago and it’s bordering on too big (not quite gone down a dress size just yet!).

I must admit, most of the time I’m eating around 800 calories because I’m so full. I don’t think my weight loss will continue at this level. I’ve also had terrible side effects. I’ve noticed that I really struggle to drink anything during the day, but make an effort to have at least 1.5litres of water later on. I’ve tried electrolytes and they don’t agree with me.

SW 18 stone 11
CW 17 stone 5
GW Would love to be 12 stone again and a size 12!

I'm just coming to the end of week 5 and feeling a bit deflated. 10lbs off in the first 2 weeks and just 1.5lb since then. (A pound ON this week!) Plus, I have the heavy bleeding after 5 years of menopause :(
I'm sticking under 1200 cals per day and very low carb so I was hoping for a bit more off tbh. Maybe I should increase my cals to give my metabolism a kick? I've done this in the past and it's worked temporarily but I just don't feel like eating more (very unlike me).
The initial rush is definitely wearing off but I can see benefits elsewhere - blood pressure down, blood glucose normal, rhr significantly lower and even my rosacea has calmed down. Long-range goggles definitely needed at the moment.

You could be me - 10lb off in first 2 weeks then nothing - I am W5D5 ..... skipped the GD straight to 5mg......and finally lost 1lb this morning after nothing for 3 weeks except for a heavy post meno period (8 years!) I am blaming the plateau on PMS fluid retention - even my boobs hurt. You need to see a Dr re the bleeding. Persevere......

I have been inactive but my calorie intake is max 1200. I am also hypothyroid so my metabolism is low. Just gotta KOKO.

I know exactly what you mean. I would have given up ages ago, but just don’t feel like that with MJ and feel so hopeful. It’s honestly so great

Galadali · 02/05/2025 16:54

@BellsizeThanks for letting me know I'm not alone. Seeing my GP next week about the bleeding though I'm confident it's nothing sinister. I'm hoping it's a one-off because I really don't think I can cope with the return of my cycle after this long!
I'm also not very active day to day as I have a desk job and several auto immune conditions causing fatigue.
Solidarity!

Doing my 5th jab this evening - going to try the golden dose but have a 5mg pen in the fridge just in case it all goes wrong!!

Just over 19lbs down in 4 weeks, so really pleased with that, and I’m now (just) in the sub-200lb club! 199lbs today!

Weigh day & Jab day for me!

Wk 5 golden dose. Was hoping to get 0.9ml for a 3.75 dose but only got 0.7ml out so it’s a bit more than 2.5 anyway.
New 5mg pen next week and will do 3.75 then.

SW 15st 10lbs 4th April

Wk 1, 2.5mg, pen 1 -10lbs
Wk 2, 2.5mg, pen 1 -4lbs
Wk 3, 2.5mg, pen 1 -2lbs
Wk 4, 2.5mg, pen 1 -3lbs

CW 14st 5lbs
1st GW 12st

Total loss 1st 5lbs

It’s funny, we started with nearly the same start weight, and we’ve both lost exactly the same amount of weight each week! Well done on your losses!!

Do you keep it in something else to conceal it? I don’t really want my kids to know so have been keeping it hidden, hence under the salad 😄

StrikeForever · 02/05/2025 13:54

I have just done my 4th injected and opted for 3.75ml, as my suppression has been low this past week. Despite having to push the syringe into the pen twice to get the correct dose, it injected into me very easily.

Same for me. Just did mine and it was fine. Didn't hurt, didn't feel blunt despite having to put the syringe into the pen twice and using the same one to then inject. I did have to do more of a stab to get it to penetrate the skin but I think it was more me being nervous about as it was a bit of a bigger needle than anything else.

4th dose = 3.75mg done 👍🏻

How funny! I literally just read your first post and thought the same!
Same start & injection days too!
Hope it keeps going well for us!
Let me know how your bonus dose goes later. I was hoping to get a bit more out than 0.70ml but at least it was a bit more than 2.5.
Will do 3.75 next week from my 5mg pen as felt the effects were wearing off a bit during wk 4.

I feel the same. If I hadn't been on MJ I definitely would have had a few binges and already have fallen off the wagon. But I just feel confident that that's not going to happen this time. It's just so freeing 🙌🏻

I’ve just done my GD and got just over 0.7ml from it, so very similar to you! Found it a bit of a challenge actually getting the dose out of the pen as the plunger kept being sucked back in.. then the needle was quite blunt so had to give it a good push to get it into my stomach!

Think I’ll go for 3.75 next week as well

SausageRoll90 · 02/05/2025 18:31

Also - day jabbers how long until you start feeling the effort the new dose? I'm usually a before bed jabber so not sure what to expect having dose it at 5.45pm... I was hungry and ready for dinner before taking my jab and less than an hour later I feel quite sick. But not sure if that's jab related or just because I need food 🤔

I’ve took mine at tea time before and definitely felt in a couple of hours!

MsJJones · 02/05/2025 18:51

Hi everyone, lost the new thread for a bit there.

I just took my Wk4 injection. I haven’t been brave enough to try and extract a golden dose although twisted the pen out of curiosity and it clicked a few times before stopping so I injected the tiny bit extra.

My stats are:
SW: 17st 3.6lbs
CW: 16st 3.1lbs
GW: 10st

So that’s just over a stone in 3 weeks, but most of that was in the first week due to how ill it made me. I gained a pound in W2 and then lost a pound and a half in W3. Fortunately the side effects have not been as bad, but clearly the suppression hasn’t been as strong either. I’ve definitely been eating more healthily and snacking less though.

I'm very nervous about starting next week’s 5mg pen and considering taking 3.75 by doing 45 clicks. Perhaps by the end of that pen I’ll be brave enough to try and extract the rest.

iamsoshocked · 02/05/2025 19:35

I took my 5th jab yesterday and decided to go for the full 5mg dose.
I wish I hadn't! I've felt very queasy all day and haven't been able to eat hardly anything. I've had a protein bar, and some mango. Lots of water to drink though as it was all I could manage.
Next week I'll try a 3.75 dose I think.

Same! I was only getting a small amount with each pull of the syringe. Had to pull it out and try again, then realised if I kept the syringe pulled all the way back it gradually dropped in until I got it all.
We’ll be pro’s by the time we finish! 😆
I bought the separate syringes & needles so once I’d got the liquid out I put a new needle on before injecting myself. I’m a wimp & was worried it would be blunt & hurt! 🤣

Absolutely. It feels amazing to know that my whole plans don't hinge on whether I have one single bad day at work and want to come home and eat all of the crisps cupboard and jack it all in, because that just does not happen to the same extent anymore. Freeing is absolutely the word.
