New thread for all of us.

Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

I’m not disheartened by the gain. I expected something to be different and now I’m home, I’ll get back to daily weighing where I can see what triggers any gains on the scales. My Shotsy graph has as many ups as it has downs and I know that’s my normal.

I agree that being more toned and heavier is more acceptable to me than being lighter and flabby @TheBossOfMe Seeing the difference has made me want to include more exercise. I am going to become one of those people asking how to spot reduce my belly fat (it’s ok, I know you can’t 😜). I hope the business trip is successful.

I also have another NSV. I started losing weight because I’d been diagnosed with Hyperplasia without Atypia in November. Being obese was a possible cause/ongoing risk factor for it to progress to something more sinister. I had a follow up before we went away and I’ve just had a letter to notify me that the sample taken then has come back benign. I know this can occur naturally but it’s not going to stop me taking MJ - I have smaller clothes to get into! 😊

TheBossOfMe · 08/05/2025 14:47

@Justformounjaro I'm always amazed at how effective walking can be as exercise, especially if it includes hills. I went up Pen Y Fan and Sugarloaf last weekend, and my glutes were crying the next day 😂

That is an absolutely amazing NSV - a real health victory, amazing!

Justformounjaro · 08/05/2025 14:57

I’ll hold off the mountain climbing for the moment - I always have to be lured up with some carrot cake 😀

MrsMariaReynolds · 08/05/2025 16:05

Hi all! Beginning to get really disheartened as I've had my first gain this week. 😟 I wouldn't mind so much but I've had such minimal losses (a pound or so) during the couple weeks prior.

I still have zero suppression so I know I'm definitely eating more than I should. Moving up to 7.5mg to tonight to see if it makes any difference. Here's hoping 🤞

Best of luck to everyone else. Keep plugging along 👏👏👏

Week 11 (no loss)
Total loss so far 17.8lbs

If you still have suppression and not been eating more then it could be water retention. Drinking to less water, excersize , TOM, salty foods etc all cause water retention

also I have been reading a lot on weight plataus and body resets and I truly believe this . After a certain weightloss the body “recalibrates” to a new set point . The set point is a new high weight where should you gain that’s also the new upwards plateau (should you gain). Set point weight as been quite a bit on news when discussing weightloss and weight gain. I’m on my second plateau at the moment which is the exact weight I was 2020-2021 , 4 weeks ago I was at my last plateau which was the weight I was 2021-2022. If this is correct my next plateau would be in about 15lb time which was the weight I was 2018-2020. It’s seems on other groups many are experiencing similar with an acceleration of weightloss after 1-3 weeks of plateau . I’m not a scientist but could be true when it comes to weight set points ,

hope it moves down for you next week ☺️

Where are you in your cycle?

Yellowsubmarine55 · 08/05/2025 19:44

@MrsMariaReynolds sorry to hear that you're disheartened but I can only think it's water weight rather than fat as it were. Maybe you are due on or something you ate meant you retained water.

MrsMariaReynolds · 08/05/2025 19:48

Re: my cycle. Your guess is as good as mine as far as where I am right now 😂 I'm 48 and deeeep in peri-menopause. So, it comes when it comes. I haven't had a period since my 3rd week of 2.5--some 8 weeks ago, which isn't unusual for me. Late last year I went 5 months between cycles. I'm a right mess 😁

Ah ok, bit complex to work out what impact your cycle might have then! I mentioned cos I'm more hungry around my period on MJ and I know some people find it makes a difference to their weight loss.

But if it does turn out to be your period and it's water retention, as pp said, I wouldn't be surprised.

soupforbrains · 08/05/2025 23:17

I’m in a sulk.

I KNOW that weight fluctuates and that our cycles impact us etc etc. but after a few very slow weeks (2lb lost in 3 weeks) I lost 4lb last week. I’ve maintained the good habits and routines from last week into this week and in the first 3 days of the week I gained almost a 1lb EACH DAY. So I’m sulking. The gain does seem to have stopped the last couple of days but ive still got the hump.

sigh

I know it’s all about long term trends but it’s SO frustrating. If I get to my weigh day on Saturday and it’s an actual gain I with have a tantrum.

I’m sorry to hear you having a rough time and struggling with a plateau

since you had a good loss last week did you increase food intake change food or drink less water the day before the day and day after your official weigh in, this could be the reason

im a daily weigher
day 1-2 weight gain (due increase appetite last 2 days before jab and reduced water intake)
day 3 back to ground 0
day 4-6 reduction
day 7back to ground 0

could also be able a plateau where the body fighting back see my post 16:18

soupforbrains · 08/05/2025 23:38

Thanks @Bipaloss no, ive maintained the same food intakes, eating pattern and fluid intake.

I did bugger my back on Saturday so I thought possibly the gain on Sunday was inflammation. But it was already coming down again by Monday yet the scales went up another lb.

my eating patterns have been very consistent the last few weeks. I am micrososing, so I am injecting a 1/3 dose every 3 days. I have found that this helps to maintain a really good steady level without peaks or dips in suppression or hunger. So I don’t have the end of week snackishness I did get when doing the weekly doses etc.

I do usually see a little increase in the first part of the week but never this much. It’s the scale of the gain which is putting me in a huff more than the existence of the gain. I’m also a daily weigher so I see my trends but this just seems excessive and if I’m doing my stroppy teenager act… it’s Not Fair!

Oh ok I understand , not sure what dose you on but perhaps it’s time to increase (even if few clicks) then if it’s stopped working even if it’s little since you microdosing?

Morning everyone
Weigh in day

SW 21.3.25, 16 stone 11 pounds
CW 9.5.25 15 stone 2

Loss 1 stone 9 pounds. Today I'm taking my last dose of 2nd pen and 5mg.

Happy with the loss, even if 1 pound per week. It's stalled but hopefully my body is resetting and I'll start losing again.

Have a great day all!

TryingMJ · 09/05/2025 06:59

Good morning all,

Friday weigh day- weigh in 10:

Start weight (Friday 28th February) 13 stone 6.5lbs

Current weight 11 stone 2.6lbs

Loss this week 3.3lbs

Total loss 2 stone 3.8lbs (or 31.8lbs).

Starting BMI was 31, current BMI is 26.

I had been even lower earlier in the week after stomach cramps and diarrhoea, I was as low as 11 stone 2.0lbs. I will be taking my jab (5mg) this evening. Had no adverse side effects the first week on 5mg but a full day in bed this week. Shall see what the third week on 5mg brings!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 09/05/2025 07:12

@soupforbrains I totally understand your frustration. My losses the last 3 weeks have been 0, 4, 1. Last week, I gained a lb between my midweek weigh in and my official weigh day which meant a 1lb loss ratger than 2. This week, my mid week weigh showed a 1lb loss but today I'm back up a lb.

I feel like I'd expect this if I was close to goal but I still have 4st to lose!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 09/05/2025 07:16

It's a roller coasters mentally isn't it? I just looked at all my losses and I'm down 25lbs in 7 weeks. Sunday will be my 8th weigh in. I need to remember that if the scakes dont move.

Overjiggly · 09/05/2025 08:15

Week 9 Weigh in

SW 18st 7lb
CW 17st 2lb
1st Mini Goal 16st 13lb
Ultimate GW 11st 7lb

After my plateau I had -2 last week and -3lbs this week, a nice little whoosh for me as I was feeling down mid week.

Total loss so far -19lbs and the 16s aren't far off now

I think I just got overwhelmed this week with the amount I still had to go, that's why I'm trying to focus on mini goals. I fully expect to be on MJ for a year so trying to not get ahead of myself.

Good to hear you had whooshes! I have a whole host of mini goals, it's so good to be able to tick them off more quickly than just aiming fir the end goal.

Overjiggly · 09/05/2025 08:37

@Illbefinejustbloodyfine thank you 😊

To my shame my 6ft 2 husband weighs less than me (not by much now) and that's another mini goal of mine!

soupforbrains · 09/05/2025 08:54

@Illbefinejustbloodyfineyes I’m used to things fluctuating a little. And I’m ok with that last week the day before my weigh it I had hit my 2stone loss but the day of the official weigh in it had crept up a little again. I’m ok with the general fluctuations normally it was just that it going up by almost a lb every day right after weighing in felt like it was climbing to a point where I wouldn’t be able to bring it down again by next official weigh day.

as it happens clearly the extra weight was just chancing it and thought I wouldn’t notice but my tantrum last night gave it a scare and the extra has dropped off again so I’m now back at roughly what I was at on my last weigh in day.

and yes. I agree if I was close to goal I would understand it more but I still have 6 and a half stone to lose!

@Bipalossi don’t think that increasing dose would make a difference here. The MJ doesn’t magically burn fat for us it only helps us manage our intake and my intake hasn’t changed I’m still feeling good suppression. But thankfully it seems it was just my body doing something weird so we’ll see.

obviously I’d like to be getting a loss on my weigh in day but I’m ok with the occasional maintain, I just don’t think I will cope with a gain.

MrsMariaReynolds · 09/05/2025 10:21

So--I took my 1st dose of 7.5 yesterday afternoon, and IT IS DOING ITS THING. Wow 😳 I didn't experience any supression or quieting of food noise with the first two pens. At all. But now I see what y'all are talking about.

We'll see what happens 🙏

Amjam2025 · 09/05/2025 12:14

Does anyone else find it surreal looking at a slimmer version of themselves in the mirror? When I was getting dressed this morning, it was almost like a stranger staring back at me! A stranger with a waist! 😂
I've lost 17lb, but because im very short, it's quite noticeable and just finding it weird seeing the changes to my body....exciting but weird lol.

TheBossOfMe · 09/05/2025 12:27

Morning from a very grey and rainy NY. I was going to go for a run because I’m awake so early but it’s miserable out so maybe not! Flight was fine yesterday - stuck to my plan of only eating one meal, resisted the urge to snack from the larder, and avoided wine. Dinner last night worked fine as well - two starters instead of a starter and main, ordered what I’d decided on looking at the menu online, dressing on side, no fries or bread with my moules. Nobody seemed to think I was being odd (I get really self conscious sometimes at business dinners where I’m usually the only woman about looking like some princess about food). Wine was free flowing, unusually for NY, but I stuck to 2 glasses. I won’t have lost anything with that meal, but hopefully minimised any gains.

In the office all day today, 8am start. This is where I’ll need willpower - these guys are feeders and it’s a constant flow of snacks into the meeting room. Lunch with be a takeout delivery - hoping they’ll have ordered something like Chopt salads (the ingredients for office deliveries all come in separate bowls so you mix your own salad) but if they’ve gone for something like pizza I’ll just pop into the Sweetgreens next door and get my own salad. My colleagues for the week are all hulking great 6ft+ men who run marathons, box, row and play squash so they don’t even think about what they eat! I’m not jealous at all!

@Amjam2025 - that sounds rather wonderful :)

Yes find myself staring into mirror and pictures , almost admiring myself 😂 but also sort of is that me. I think it’s because we lost weight so quickly (last time I lost this much in one go it took me 6 months not 2 months) and brain hasn’t caught up

put on a thick linen dress today that was way too small 9 weeks ago and today it’s hanging of me loosely and tummy barely visible (looked 6 months pregnant a few weeks ago) and got loads of comments that I look nice today at school run 😃
