New thread for all of us.

Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

I'll just sign in.
SW 182lbs (BMI 28 at 5ft 7, high cholesterol)
CW 173lbs (guess)
GW 160 or 165lbs.

I'm losing 1 of 2 lbs per week. I'm on week 6. I did 5 wks at 2.5, but I ordered a 5mg pen as I was going on holidays. I then got nervous of too much supression, so did a 3mg dose.

Mostly doing fine. Modest portions, no snacks. But today I ate like a little 🐖!
SE are cold feet, lowish energy, lowish mood. I'm making myself do exercise every day .

RuthEvershedforPM · 21/04/2025 07:38

Good morning and signing in

week 6 day 6

SW - 82.6
CW 75.1
GW 54

a very long way to go but just over a quarter of the way 💪🏼

Need to apply myself to having a good day today - Easter Monday and a very busy period of work looming. No plans so need to make the most of a quiet day

GameOfJones · 21/04/2025 08:04

Morning all! Goodness we are a chatty bunch....thread 4 already! Loving our supportive group. ❤️

Signing in with stats, halfway through week 7 and currently on a 3.75mg dose.

SW: 14st
Last weigh in: 12st 11lbs

There was chat about goals on the last thread. My goal is to not feel anxious about having my photograph taken, and to feel happy and confident in my clothes. I had gotten into a bad habit of living in joggers and fleeces to hide my body and all it did was make me feel frumpy and unhappy. I would like to feel good in a pair of jeans again!

I didn't have a great food day yesterday. I was at BIL's for Easter lunch. I hadn't eaten all morning and then had roast lamb dinner, followed by cheese and crackers and three glasses of wine. I didn't finish all of my food....I probably ate just over half of it but nobody in the family knows I'm on Mounjaro other than DH. Anyway, I got home and felt absolutely awful. I gagged and thought I was going to be sick and my stomach was churning. I felt so unwell but didn't want to go to bed as I was worried all the food would come back up if I laid down! I had a peppermint tea and it settled down and I feel ok this morning. It has really taught me a lesson though about being more careful around food choices. A rich meal with wine on an empty stomach was not a good idea!

Back to normal today and a quiet day planned with a walk if it stops raining. I'm going to do some yoga too and enjoy the last day of the school holidays with DDs. Hope everyone has had a good bank holiday weekend!

FrozenFractal · 21/04/2025 08:33

Thanks for the new thread @TheSpoonyNavyReader, it’s hard to keep up with the chat sometimes 😅

SW 231lb
CW 214.8lb
TW 155lb

After bumbling along on 2.5 for a couple of weeks, the weight loss really accelerated on a higher dose.

I’ve mentioned it before but daily electrolytes have sorted out my headaches and I feel so much better. I’d definitely recommend it!

BonnetofPins · 21/04/2025 09:12

Late thread-joiner here! Week 6, day 5 on 5mg dose.

SW - 232.5lbs
CW - 217.5lbs
TW - 175lbs (and then I'll review)

Hoping for a loss this week after stalling at my last weigh-in. Anyone else on HRT and tracking progress against their cycle? I have a suspicion that progesterone is to blame for the lack of movement on my scales last week.

Justformounjaro · 21/04/2025 09:28

Thanks for the new thread Spoony.

Start date on Mounjaro 1 March 2025

SW 15st 0lbs
CW 13st 13.7lbs

I’ve started to develop a reaction to my injection site ☹️ This is really annoying as DP is likely to notice this red mark on my stomach when I’ve not told him I’m using Mounjaro. I’m going to say it’s because my belt has rubbed in the wrong place because my trousers are falling down but that will only be believable for so long. I might have to start injecting in my thigh instead and blame mozzies biting me when gardening.

It started last week so I read about it. Took the pen out of the fridge early, used antihistamine cream afterwards but still came up as a red blotch and the one from last week hasn’t completely disappeared yet. It’s not hugely itchy which is something.

mumofmanydaughterofone · 21/04/2025 09:34

Had a nice little NSV today - got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around myself and the ends actually crossed over - whoop!

popdepop · 21/04/2025 09:37

Morning all. Increased dose to 5mg on Friday and I don't feel it's had any effect. Anyone else experienced this? I am sure it will kick in again, I was just expecting more for a doubling of the dose

I am on 5mg and I really did not notice any difference in suppression I am moving up to 7.5mg on Friday and I am hoping that this is my dose. The weight loss has really stalled and this week it was 1LB which is disappointing when I still have 2 stone to go at that rate I would have to be on MJ for another 30 weeks.

I had suppression the first week and then nothing.

There are lots of videos on TikTok of posters saying that 5mg does nothing and weight loss stalls and then goes up with 7.5mg fingers crossed it works for me.

Morning all, great to see the new thread. Hope everybody had a fabulous Easter - my Sunday was a really lovely one spent with family. I cooked a really great Easter Sunday lunch, and really enjoyed both cooking it and eating it. I don't want my enjoyment of cooking great food for people I love to disappear, it's a source of much satisfaction for me, a great mental health boost. So really happy that I still got so much out of doing it.

The thing that was magical was not pigging out eating it, though. Again, being super mindful about pausing in between mouthfuls and really thinking about whether I was still hungry. And I'm finding eating "in order" helpful. So not shovelling mixed forkfuls of food into my mouth. Protein (lamb) eaten first. Then all my vegetables (broccoli, green beans, mange tout). Then my gorgeous Yorkshire pudding with loads of gravy. Which left enough room for a small roast potato and a small sliver of cheesecake for pudding. Nutrient goals ticked off, went well over daily calorie allowance but that's ok every now and again, felt super satisfied, but for the first time in a long time, I didn't have that "OMG I'm so stuffed I could just fall asleep on the sofa" occasion meal feeling, which meant I had energy for a long dog walk early evening.

Oh, and I ate a bag of mini eggs. And drank far too much wine, both red and white. Regretting that this morning, MJ definitely gives me bad hangovers, even on amounts that wouldn't have registered before. So not all virtuous calories, but it is Easter!

The only real SEs I have - freezing cold, and a bit acidy. But nothing major, even on 5mg.

SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed MJ because of diabetes risk and hideous waist measurement)
CW 9st 3.9lb/129.9lb BMI 23 - 14.7lb down, 55.26% of target achieved. (Still overweight because of ethnicity but about to tip into healthy weight)
GW 8st 6lb/118lb (26.6lb total target loss, 11.9lb to go) BMI 20.9 (low BMI advised as target by doctor)

Loss by week:
W1 5.5lb
W2 1.3lb
W3 0.7lb (ate out loads)
W4 3.3lb
W5 0.5lb gain (ate out loads)
W6 4.4lb (Easter week plus period)

First time I've been in the 120lb range for a few years, end of 2021 I think since I've been anywhere near there. DP being super supportive, he understands my health concerns, and being really encouraging, especially with joining me when I exercise so that I keep muscles and bones strong (he is a former professional athlete so great at knowing exactly what to focus on exercise wise). I'm looking forward to getting the summer wardrobe out of storage and seeing what now fits that was a bit of a squash and a squeeze last year. Still carrying a lot of fat on my belly, but it's shifting slowly.

It's not a linear journey at all, but it's the overall trend that matters. Onwards and downwards with the support of this thread. Couldn't be more grateful for all of you, actually feel a little tearful sometimes when I read all the supportive comments and encouragement.

GiveMeWordGames · 21/04/2025 10:20

Checking in on this new thread.

Started 24th March. First 5mg injection later this morning. Down 10lb so far, off a starting weight of 17st 4.

Had Easter Saturday at my Mum's. Even though suppression was not massive due to it being the 5th day of the 4th week, what I noticed most of all was not wanting to drink anything much at all really, plus being happy with a small slice of pud (and my Mum's desserts are always delicious, home made things).

The weirdest side effect for me has been the feeling cold thing. Noticed it in the first week and just couldn't compute because I have ALWAYS run hot, even when I was slimmer. And menopause turned me into an absolute furnace half the time. In some ways it's quite welcome.

Onwards and upwards (or downwards I suppose) with 5!

TheBossOfMe · 21/04/2025 10:34

@GiveMeWordGames The cold is so odd, isn't it? Like you, I usually run hot. I'm sitting typing wearing a puffa jacket right now 😂

Whereissummer24 · 21/04/2025 11:00

Hi ladies,
Jab day tomorrow - did a 3.75 last week but think I’m going to do 5 this week as the suppression isn’t great.
SW - 203
CW - 195
GW - 154
am losing very slowly- not helped by boozy weekends!!
Hope everyone has a good Easter

tryingtobesogood · 21/04/2025 11:13

So yesterday I ate more than was comfortable but in reality still not THAT much. I calculated the calories and it was 1600, and that’s with wine and the chocolate I had. so while I felt very uncomfortable I hadn’t actually ‘ruined everything’ which is how I felt last night.

Today I am back to normal. I’ll eat well, do some exercise and not beat myself up. As everyone says, it’s a marathon and not a sprint.

Also I love this from Sally Gunnell

Yetanotherusername2000 · 21/04/2025 11:24

Well, I braved a weigh after the all inclusive week - and I haven’t gained!!! I haven’t lost either, but that is fine by me.

New week and new day starts now. Phew.

Yellowsubmarine55 · 21/04/2025 12:13

Just checking in after week 4 weigh in.

I've lost 2 lb this week bringing total to 12.

Sw - 213lb
Cw- 201lb
Gw - I'd be happy with 150 lb ish but I'll go with how I feel.

Another month on 2.5 and we'll see how we go. I'm delighted with the loss so far, slow and steady 🙂

HappyKatieA · 21/04/2025 12:42

Lovely to see a new thread, I’m really enjoying reading about everyone’s successes, well done!

I started on 27th Feb, having lost 3st last year I had stalled and felt that MJ would be beneficial as I’m coming up to 53 and very aware of my deteriorating health due to my increase in weight. I’ve been yo-yo-ing for years, I need this to stop!

so, starting weight was 13st 4lbs on Feb 27th.
This morning I weighed 11st 13.8 lbs, so I’ve JUST snuck into the 11’s! I’m a daily weighed, and this is the first time I’ve seen 11 something for about four years, very excited.

I haven’t set a target weight, but know I’m really comfortable about 10st, which I haven’t seen since I was 40, when I lost a lot of weight on a VLCD.

Sal64 · 21/04/2025 12:54

Wk 3 weighed put 2 on but were different scales feel p**d off !!!!!

Fatmumslim01 · 21/04/2025 13:03

Marking place in the shiny new thread thanks @TheSpoonyNavyReader

Back on it today after my day "off" yesterday. Drinking loads of water due to lots of salty food yesterday. Still full from yesterday, all I've had today is a few slices of ham. Will have a proper meal this evening.

I'm meant to be going up to 3.75 on Friday. Part of my wants to jump to 5 but I'm away next weekend which would be my second dose of 5 potentially and don't want to risk side effects so I think I'll do 3.75 for 2 weeks then potentially move up. Feel like I'm ready for more than the 2.5 dose now

DH has asked what am I going to say I'd people notice I've lost weight, don't think it will be yet though as only lost 9 pound so far but what are others doing? Saying it's the jabs or not?

I was thinking of leading with the GP prescribed me orlistat (which is true) so people know I really needed to lose weight although it's obvious tbh! But I was too scared of orlistat side effects so doing jabs instead and no side effects so far!

popdepop · 21/04/2025 13:34

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 21/04/2025 10:05

I am on 5mg and I really did not notice any difference in suppression I am moving up to 7.5mg on Friday and I am hoping that this is my dose. The weight loss has really stalled and this week it was 1LB which is disappointing when I still have 2 stone to go at that rate I would have to be on MJ for another 30 weeks.

I had suppression the first week and then nothing.

There are lots of videos on TikTok of posters saying that 5mg does nothing and weight loss stalls and then goes up with 7.5mg fingers crossed it works for me.

Edited

It's strange as I had supression on 2.5mg albeit not all of the time. I thought 5mg would up that.
I'm now even questioning if Simple Online Pharmacy have sent me a genuine pen. I'm really dissapointed. Hoping it comes back. it doesn't make sense as mounjaro builds

Flamethrowers · 21/04/2025 14:57

My pen malfunctioned on the second dose (stuck) and has just again malfunctioned on the fourth. It primed fine but would not dial back the entire way to one - it was just stuck.
I tried to count the black lines and I estimate about 4/5 of a 2.5 dose were injected.
I'm thinking of taking my next 2.5 dose a day two days early on Saturday. What do you think.

Flamethrowers · 21/04/2025 15:00

My weight loss has been pretty slow this month (second 2.5 - around 6lb and I haven't shifted more than a pound this week despite the terrible stomach). I'm doing he on more month of 2.5 and then give 3.75 a bash

cmh18 · 21/04/2025 15:01

I took my 1st 5mg dose on Friday and the side effects are pretty much none existent, which was a huge relief as I really struggled for the the first few weeks on 2.5

SW 12st 5
CW 11st 8
GW 10st 7 (ish)

Amjam2025 · 21/04/2025 15:50

Thanks for the new thread!
I work in a school so have been off for two weeks now, usually go for lots of lunches out with family and friends but have tried to find alternative activities or managed to eat healthier/less when eating out.
I'm due to take my third 5mg jab tomorrow, still no real SE which I'm pleased with. Weighed in today (as my jabs day used to be a Monday but I'm trying to move it to a thursday in prep for my holiday at the end of May.)
SW 10 st 10lb
CW 9 st 9lb
TW 9 st 4lb for now and then go from there
Lost a stone which I'm absolutely over the moon with. Couple of ppl have commented, think it's because I'm only just about 5 foot tall so weight gain/loss is quite noticeable.
On Saturday morning I got "break through hunger" i was absolutely ravenous!!! However I had a cup of tea and waited and it went away and hasn't returned since! I tend to eat 1 weetabix for BF, a very light lunch of around 300 kcal and then a small portion of family meal later, around 500 kcal. I'm not getting major suppression but other than the break through hunger, I don't generally feel hungry which is good!

Well done to everyone on their journeys and thanks for all the support on my journey!

TheBossOfMe · 21/04/2025 16:16

@Amjam2025 definitely find that drinking something and waiting usually deals with breakthrough hunger - it passes quite quickly and then I coast to lunchtime.

I might just be noticing it because I’m short myself but there seem to be a disproportionate number of shorter than average women on these threads. I wonder if we tend to look a lot more overweight than we actually are because of size. And whether we put on weight because our daily calorie needs are lower - so what is a reasonable portion size for someone taller is too much for us? Maybe not, just musing :)
