New thread for all of us.

Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

@Flamethrowers how annoying! I took my last dose 2 days early and had no ill effects so that should be fine. I think it's 4 days between doses as a minimum if you're changing days.

Pipsballoon · 21/04/2025 17:53

Thanks for the new thread Spoony!

Hope everyone has had a lovely Easter and has found it easier to navigate than previous years.

I would welcome your feedback on how to proceed with my MJ journey. I started a new pen of 5mg just over two weeks ago, after 5 successful weeks on 2.5mg and a 12lb weight loss. I had the first 5mg injection from this pen, then paused in the run up to my surgery. It's been 15 days since I injected, I'm recovering well from the surgery, and I feel that I am ready to resume (I did check with the doctor during my time in hospital and got the okay to resume when I felt ready).

I am planning to count clicks and have 2.5mg tonight, then 3.75mg next week, and then all being well, back to 5mg for the last injection from this pen in two weeks (around day 28 since the pen was first used). Any thoughts? Anyone with similar experience?

Thanks all, really appreciate the support within this group

Another NSV that does not have me fishing out my Eternity ring out of the toilet.

I purchased a pair of size 12 jeans about 18 months ago, what I was thinking I have no idea.

Today I was getting ready to go out and thought I would try them on, at the start of taking MJ I could not get them past my arse, let alone do them up well today they did up and are not uncomfortable. I actually cried fat tears.

My husband commented on my weight loss today, he still does not know I am using WLI.

@Sal64
Don't be pissed off, I bet you anything it will be the scales, I have to have mine in the exact same position to read the same!

Furryfeline · 21/04/2025 19:49

Checking in as I like reading everything that people are going through, good and bad, helps to know most people have had ups and downs. Currently a bit down, a pp on the other thread mentioned how they feel a bit flat, having felt uplifted in the first couple of weeks, me too. I used to love food and cooking and over the past couple of weeks I've come to hate it. I just want to get through mealtimes as quick as possible, so whilst on the one hand I have lost the weight on the other hand there's no joy to mealtimes. I don't even want a drink, the thought makes me feel sick utterly joyless.

Bipaloss · 21/04/2025 19:56

Thank OP for another thread and letting us know this is me checking in ☺️

Thanks for the new thread @TheSpoonyNavyReader, it’s hard to keep up with the chat sometimes 😅

SW 231lb
CW 214.8lb
TW 155lb

After bumbling along on 2.5 for a couple of weeks, the weight loss really accelerated on a higher dose.

I’ve mentioned it before but daily electrolytes have sorted out my headaches and I feel so much better. I’d definitely recommend it!

What electrolytes are you using? I'm struggling with headaches a bit.

Amjam2025 · 21/04/2025 20:19

@TheBossOfMe drinking definitely helps to make me feel fuller, specially in vetween meals, I really struggle to drink enough fluids every day at the moment and need to remind myself to keep drinking!
I agree with your comment....I have a friend who is 5 ft 8 in and she's gained a stone since Xmas (she drank a lot of wine and lots of meals out) and I couldn't even tell!! If I gain a stone....wow! I get a big square arse! She can also eat huge amounts and gets away with it but my 'maintain' calories is almost 1,700 so a good 300 under the recommended for women!
Was saying to my OH today though, I'm actually really enjoying not eating as much and watching the weight come off. I then had a Flake from the Easter egg MIL bought me.. mmmm, a lovely treat :)

TheBossOfMe · 21/04/2025 20:36

@Amjam2025 - My maintain calories are about the same, which is another reason I'm doing a lot of exercise, need to create a deficit to lose via exercise becaus otherwise I really can't eat that much at all! I used to burn through calories with long runs, I can't do those anymore, so need to do shorter distances more often. And weights. Lots of weights!

I've definitely treated myself this weekend so am expecting a move up rather than down on the scales over the next couple of days. But I think that's OK - life can't be joyless. It's impossible to sustain if you take all food pleasure out. Small adjustments to ways of eating is much more sustainable IMO.

A stone is 2 dress sizes for me for anything that has a waist or needs to get over my arse!

Thanks for the new thread Spoony.

Start date on Mounjaro 1 March 2025

SW 15st 0lbs
CW 13st 13.7lbs

I’ve started to develop a reaction to my injection site ☹️ This is really annoying as DP is likely to notice this red mark on my stomach when I’ve not told him I’m using Mounjaro. I’m going to say it’s because my belt has rubbed in the wrong place because my trousers are falling down but that will only be believable for so long. I might have to start injecting in my thigh instead and blame mozzies biting me when gardening.

It started last week so I read about it. Took the pen out of the fridge early, used antihistamine cream afterwards but still came up as a red blotch and the one from last week hasn’t completely disappeared yet. It’s not hugely itchy which is something.

Edited

I started to get them on my stomach so I tried my thigh and it was worse mine are really big and red! Antihistamines and hydrocortisone don’t touch them. Flonase doesn’t work
they last about a week

Checking in on this thread - started Mounjaro mid-March
SW 100.5kg (BMI 34)
CW 92.7kg (BMI 31) day 32
GW 75kg (BMI 25)
Best NSV so far is being able to wear my rings again Smile.

I have been reading back through this groups last thread and nice to see a supportive group of regular women x

I haven’t experienced many side effects until last week’s 1st 5mg dose so have only gone for 0.4ml (rather than full 0.6ml dose) today. Not calorie counting as I want this to be sustainable beyond the WLI so eating clean, plenty of protein, fibre and drinking plenty.

Puddingpiper · 21/04/2025 21:05

Thank you for the new thread.

someone asked earlier about electrolytes we generally have liquid IV ones from Amazon in the house. They come in a variety of flavours and are not bad at all. I’ve also had some of the elder child’s SIS ones which I used to use when I exercised a lot more.

NSV for me tonight I actually enjoyed putting my work clothes together for the week taking some pride in my appearance after managing to keep a decent skincare routine together since starting MJ.

Paulahoust · 21/04/2025 21:28

Thank you 😊

IngoGreen · 21/04/2025 21:33

@TheSpoonyNavyReader thanks for new thread.

NSV my trusty swimsuit starting to feel a bit baggy. Bit sad as it’s been brilliant at holding me in and smoothing my rolls.

HuskyNew · 21/04/2025 22:37

Sorry I’m a lurker here and can’t keep up with the chat! Great to see you all doing well though.

my losses have slowed, I got a 2nd 2.5 one which may have been a mistake.

im also feeling really tired & low. Not sure if it’s the mj or something else. I feel quite weak… legs gets achey quickly, I struggle to run 5km & haven’t bothered with the gym for a couple of weeks.
how’s everyone resending with exercises?

Wow that is a big reaction, I would check with your doctor if I were you and maybe your provider also

They look sore - are they? I get terrible reactions to mosquito bites and some look exactly like yours. The ones on my stomach are about the size of a 50p and the first one is still visible, although much faded.

Have you spoken to your pharmacist/doctor?

Lolliz87 · 21/04/2025 23:12

I have only injected 3.75mg tonight (45 clicks on a 5 if I’ve done it right! ) as last 3 weeks been so unwell mid week and just cannot cope with it this week. If I feel okay enough I’ll do another 1.25 on Friday (I have enough needles and wipes). Fingers crossed this works for me as the constipation, burps, migraines etc of the last 3 weeks have made me feel awful! Sticking to a 5 next month if I can make this work dosing twice a week x

I bought a fabulous swimsuit in October which did wonders holding me in but it’s got a bit loose and I can’t see it lasting till my next holiday which is a real shame. But I’d far rather buy a new swimsuit than have my body the size that it was 😊

They are just really itchy, spoke to a pharmacist who said as long as they local to the injection they are ok. Don’t want to stop taking it but they are getting a bit much. The itch wakes me up. I had some mosquito bites do the same I must just have sensitive skin but if anybody has any ideas please share. I have tried changing sites, letting the pen warm up, ice, Flonase, antihistamines, hydrocortisone, anthisane cream. Nothing worked so far

Was it always mid week?

Maybe 2.5 twice a week might be best for you 🤗

I inject Sunday mornings, went up to 3.75mg today and felt a bit of suppression immediately but waiting for Tuesday/Wednesday as that’s normally when I get a SE. I really don’t wanna be wiped out and unable to eat on MJ so I’m trying to take it slowly

Yeah I normally inject on a Monday evening so by Tuesday/wed I would feel awful. I will see how I go with the 3.75/1.25 combo this week but willing to try 2.5/2.5 as well maybe next week! X

28Spring · 22/04/2025 06:22

@Pipsballoon hope your surgery went well, that sounds like a good plan to slowly build your dose back up but it’s a wait and see situation as you might need longer on each dose as you get used to it again depending on SE’s so I’d just listen to your body and go up each week if you feel fine but stick to smaller dose if not until you’re ready xxx
