Another one recommending electrolytes as well - I used to get horrible post run headaches until I started taking them. I don't buy expensive "athlete" sachet ones, just cheap tablets that I drop in my bottle of water.
As predicted, after a somewhat overindulgent long weekend, I've gained a tiny bit, but looking back at how much I used to gain over Easter or Christmas, or a weekend away with friends, it's nothing close to the 3-4lb that I'd usually put on, only 0.6lb. Given I felt like I didn't really deny myself anything that I wanted to eat, and really hammered the chocolate, hot cross buns and wine, that feels like a result! I should be able to shift that again in no time, and continue the downward journey.
Annoyingly feel extremely full this morning though, not nauseous but I suspect I'll have to force lunch down, because I feel like I feel immediately after a very big meal, with a load of food sitting in my stomach. It's not a nice feeling at all, and I woke up really early because I felt so uncomfortable with it all sitting there. Zero problems going to the loo, so I'm not constipated or anything - it's just evidence of how much MJ slows your digestion down I guess. I'll have to keep reminding myself of how much I don't like this feeling whenever I'm tempted to eat more than I should - I definitely didn't need the hot cross bun bread and butter pudding last night!
Also feeling a tiny bit flat - but think that's more related to the fact that DD goes back to school today (she's a boarder because of the amount I travel overseas for work) and it'll be two weeks before I see her again because she's got loads on over the first two weeks back. Apart from the annoyance of my ex taking her on holiday over Mother's Day, it's felt like we've had a really lovely Easter holiday together and it's going to be very quiet indeed without her here.
@saxonyv I know what you mean about dopamine fix from food! I kind of still get it (still cooking really nice food, just keeping carbs down, protein up and packing my plate with veg) but it's not as much of a hit as it was. I'm trying to use exercise as the substitute, I definitely get a dopamine kick from that, especially as I'm starting to run a bit faster and lift heavier.
