New thread for all of us.

Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

Well, ten jabs in and two weeks on 5mg and I have eggy burps for the first time today!

MrsAlwaysRight · 04/05/2025 20:05

13lbs down so far since 1st March. Think I'd probably lose quicker if I cut back on the wine but not willing to do that at the mo! I've had to order new bras as lost quite a lot of back fat. Also got some new jeans as gone down a size 🎉

I've done 5 weeks of 2.5mg and 5 at 3.75. I've got another 5mg pen and will probably stick with 3.75 for the time being as suppression still good and no side effects at the moment.

GameOfJones · 04/05/2025 20:22

Week two of 5mg dose and no side effects at all. My main side effect in week one of taking 5mg is I felt exhausted and lightheaded the following day so I was expecting that again this week but I feel really well. It's been a few days now (jabbed on Wednesday) so hopefully it stays that way.

Where are you based?

My filler person now does a package for face filler for people that have been on MJ

Haha! That’s cool! I’m in Yorkshire.

Morning all - hope everybody has been enjoying a lovely bank holiday weekend, feels like a treat to have one so soon after Easter!

Weigh day, and as I said upthread, I knew this was going to be a plateau or gain week, lovely weekend away with friends, loads of walking, but also loads of food, following on from a week of little exercise because work was crazy busy.

SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed MJ because of diabetes risk and hideous waist measurement)
CW 9st 3.4lblb/129.4lb BMI 22.9 - 15.2lb down, 57.1% of target achieved.
GW 8st 6lb/118lb (26.6lb total target loss, 11.4lb to go) BMI 20.9 (low BMI advised as target by doctor)

Loss by week:
W1 5.5lb
W2 1.3lb
W3 0.7lb (ate out loads)
W4 3.3lb
W5 0.5lb gain (ate out loads)
W6 3.8lb (Post Easter weekend plus period)
W7 2.6lb
W8 1.5lb gain (BH weekend away, ate out loads)

Looking back at MFP, weekends away like this before MJ could easily have seen me gain 4lb+, so I'm actually ok with 1.5lb. That's really not that much given it was a 3 meal a day few days, plus cream teas and/or ice cream, and free flow wine, and not sticking to my IF routine or calorie counting. I've been reminding myself of what @soupforbrains said about food not being a moral choice. It actually felt really good to be able to indulge in really delicious food (friend who was hosting is an unbelievably good cook and has great taste in restaurants/gastropubs, used to be a pro chef in Michelin star kitchens), without eating myself totally silly and feeling like I can't sleep because I'm too full (bar one night where I probably should have left pudding!).

So I'm counting last week as a win even if it was a gain week. They can't all be loss weeks, and it's the overall trend that matters. Onwards and downwards.

I am slightly questioning whether the recommended goal weight is too low. Looking at my body shape now, I think it might be. Especially since I'm gaining muscle mass. I'm due a check up next week, and might have a chat about that. I know it's because my waist measurement is so large (it's still ridiculous in proportion to my overall height/weight) - but I worry a bit about the rest of me being too thin in order to get to that weight.

seasidehunter · 05/05/2025 10:57

W9D1 - looks like the prosecco fuelled wedding didn’t scupper me after all (unless it hasn’t caught up with me yet). 2.5lb lost this week - now down to 11st 6.5lb so that’s 15.5lb lost overall.

Debated moving up to 5mg. Gone with 3.75mg again this week. I’ve got a long drive to an event on Thursday and I don’t want SE to kick in and make it miserable.

Happy bank holiday all 😊

I learned something - if you eat protein soon after or at latest within two hours after exercise it helps with muscle development.

soupforbrains · 05/05/2025 12:19

@TheBossOfMe1.5lbs is nothing. I can put on 1lb on any given day just through fluid retention and/or my usual fluctuations. It’s sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. And remember we’re all trying to lose weight because we want to be happier. No point in being thin if we’re miserable all the time and CANT have any fun ever. 🤣

I put on a lb yesterday but I think this is because ive buggered my back so the inflammation will mean my fluid retention is up. I just let it play out during the weeks and only ‘pay attention’ on my weekly weigh day.

Amjam2025 · 05/05/2025 12:37

@TryingMJ omg I also just started with the sulphur burps today for the first time...I'm on my 4th week of 5mg! Very strange how they've not affected me til now!

Bipaloss · 05/05/2025 15:42

Hi everyone just catching up on the 80 posts that I have missed while I was away this weekend.

loads of eating out cake wine and champagne thought I would have gained but this afternoon I was the same weight as last week (absolutely thrilled with that) . Will do a official weigh in the morning

NSV loads of pictures taken and for the first time ever I didn’t want DH to delete any and didn’t refuse to post on socials. Felt proud for the first time of the way I look. Except that I am noticing a ozempic neck appearing and that my bom and thighs are getting very wiggly LOL

my new threshold on wine is about half of what I could take before so got a bit too drunk a couple of the nights 🤣🤦‍♀️

jab 9 tonight which will be 40 clicks of 7.5 jab (staying on 5mg for at least another 2 weeks)

MountainQueen · 05/05/2025 16:20

Not sure if it's a NSV or not but I don't have an arse anymore 😂 I've always had slim legs and small bum, carry most of my extra weight around my mid section. Managed to squeeze into these new wide leg jeans I bought and my butt is completely gone. Can't see it at all. Shame I can't say the same about my belly though 😂

PoundsLost · 05/05/2025 16:51

Going to do my 8th jab (5mg) tomorrow - suppression better but weightloss is still slow.

Has anyone done the price match with We Prescribe? Is it that they give you a code or that you buy the pen and they issue a small refund? I could save £25 so worth trying.

TheBossOfMe · 05/05/2025 17:26

Fab NSV @Bipaloss !

I have the same not quite an NSV @MountainQueen 😂. I need to up my glutework in my weights sessions. Small bottom is fine but mine is at risk of going flat!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 05/05/2025 18:08

Jabbed yesterday, number 8, and 3rd at 3.75, and , I'm bloody freezing today. Really struggling with fatigue too.

Van34 · 05/05/2025 18:41

Purplebeag · 03/05/2025 12:00

Hi everyone, I've been following everyone's progress but this is my first time posting!

Sw: 18 stone 3
Cw: 16 stone 5 (so close to the two stone mark!)
Tw - not decided yet - I have so much to lose I'm focusing on mini targets, the current only is to get to 100kg

I'm on week 8 and start my second pen of 5mg tomorrow. Up to this week I've been losing at a relatively steady 3/4 pounds a week. I think at this week at best I'm going to be at a 1 pound loss, but I've been away with work and away this weekend so have only been at home to fully manage my diet a couple of nights and have also drunk much more than normal so as long as I don't gain I'll be delighted.

I've so far lost pretty much all of the weight through calorie counting so an injury has meant I've been restricted on exercise but the physio has cleared me to build up so I've got a personal trainer appointment booked which I'm actually pretty exited for - never thought I'd say this.

Anyway I mainly wanted to post because it's been interesting reading everyone's experiences, and it feels mine is slightly different to the majority! So many of you have talked about suppression in terms of not being able to face food at all and forcing yourself to eat. I have definitely not had that - I've always been in a position to happily eat, I feel for me it's probably just made me think like a "normal" person - I'm not constantly thinking about food and snacking for no reason and so have been able to easily control what I eat. I used to be constantly telling myself I didn't need to go and eat something, but then would find myself eating it. The medication has made me understand how someone could give the ever helpful weight loss advice of "just eat less" because that seems so positive now I'm not obsessing over food and do get full quicker.

I'm lucky enough to have basically had no side effects - hopefully that part continues!!

I have to say this has been one of the best things I've ever done. I've not had anyone really comment on it yet (my husband doesn't count because he knows what is going on!) but I feel so much better about myself already.

I feel exactly the same. I feel like it has put me on a level playing field. My DH has also started to diet (without MJ) and isn't far behind me weight loss wise. All these years have been such a battle. But now I feel free of it all. I guess I do have supression but only mildly. I'm currently cooking cottage pie, I'm not hungry but I know it's dinner time. I'll dish up half the portion i used to have and I'll be happy with that!

TheBossOfMe · 05/05/2025 19:31

@Van34 @Purplebeag - similar here. I’m still good with cooking and eating lovely meals. Just significantly smaller portion sizes. I thought I wasn’t much of a snacker but a friend made a comment over the weekend (one of my closest friends so knows that I’m on MJ) that before I started this journey, I’d have been continuously picking at food left on the table when dishes are shared (which was a lot of this weekend). Whereas this weekend I helped myself to a fairly small portion at the beginning of the meal (bar one day when I definitely lacked discipline!) and then didn’t pick at what was left in the middle of the table even though it sometimes sat there for hours. I hadn’t even clocked that but she was right, I used to do that a lot.

@Illbefinejustbloodyfine I feel a lot less cold a few weeks in, and the fatigue does pass. Fingers crossed you’ll get there quickly. I feel a lot less tired because I’m sleeping better as the weight comes off - I wear an Oura ring so can see how much better it is.

@PoundsLost I’m not sure which way you meant but I’m with WePrescribe and when I needed a new pen, I’ve sent them a screenshot of the cheapest price I could find after discounts and they were happy to match it, even included postage! I need my 3rd pen and currently waiting to hear if they price match £99 from PillSorted. 🤞🤞🤞

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 05/05/2025 20:23

@TheBossOfMe the coldness just seems to be the odd day here and thee, but as soneone who doesn't usually feel the cold, I find it so uncomfortable. The tiredness though, is getting worse not better. I'm sleeping really well too.

PoundsLost · 05/05/2025 20:23

Oh lovely - thanks @FrozenFractal - I was just wondering how they price match. Whether you buy the pen at the price they offer and they refund the difference, or whether they issue a code for the difference so you pay what you would pay Pillsorted. I’ve uploaded the screenshot from Monj to show the difference.

It doesn’t matter hugely but I’m nosy and pernickety and too lazy to move prescribers but too cheap to not try to do it properly (I didn’t last month).

@FrozenFractal this sounds very good price, what dose if £99 for?

That’s for 5mg with £50 first order discount.

Bipaloss · 06/05/2025 07:17

Good morning, After posting yesterday my weight was unchanged it did overnight (1lb up, although Tuesday is normally my heaviest day of the week so not too surprised after this weekend away) and TOM also arrived a day early 😩
il ignore this week weigh in do a mental reset to get back on track

TryingMJ · 06/05/2025 07:26

Well the 5mg has well and truly kicked my butt this bank holiday. Took the jab on Friday night (second dose of 5mg- was fine last week!). Was fine Saturday and most of Sunday, it was my daughter’s birthday so a busy weekend. I ate at 4pm on Sunday then went for a walk and from then all through Sunday night and all day yesterday I’ve had stomach cramps and diarrhoea like water. I didn’t get out of bed all day yesterday until 8pm to have a bath then go back to bed again, and I haven’t eaten since 4pm on Sunday. Thank god it was a bank holiday (although what a waste of a day!) because it that was a work day I don’t know what I would’ve done! This morning I feel drained and still have no appetite, don’t know whether to risk having something to give me energy before work or risk getting the runs again! On the plus side I’ve lost 3.6lbs in 2 days but not exactly the way I would’ve chosen to go about it!!
