Morning all - hope everybody has been enjoying a lovely bank holiday weekend, feels like a treat to have one so soon after Easter!
Weigh day, and as I said upthread, I knew this was going to be a plateau or gain week, lovely weekend away with friends, loads of walking, but also loads of food, following on from a week of little exercise because work was crazy busy.
SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed MJ because of diabetes risk and hideous waist measurement)
CW 9st 3.4lblb/129.4lb BMI 22.9 - 15.2lb down, 57.1% of target achieved.
GW 8st 6lb/118lb (26.6lb total target loss, 11.4lb to go) BMI 20.9 (low BMI advised as target by doctor)
Loss by week:
W1 5.5lb
W2 1.3lb
W3 0.7lb (ate out loads)
W4 3.3lb
W5 0.5lb gain (ate out loads)
W6 3.8lb (Post Easter weekend plus period)
W7 2.6lb
W8 1.5lb gain (BH weekend away, ate out loads)
Looking back at MFP, weekends away like this before MJ could easily have seen me gain 4lb+, so I'm actually ok with 1.5lb. That's really not that much given it was a 3 meal a day few days, plus cream teas and/or ice cream, and free flow wine, and not sticking to my IF routine or calorie counting. I've been reminding myself of what @soupforbrains said about food not being a moral choice. It actually felt really good to be able to indulge in really delicious food (friend who was hosting is an unbelievably good cook and has great taste in restaurants/gastropubs, used to be a pro chef in Michelin star kitchens), without eating myself totally silly and feeling like I can't sleep because I'm too full (bar one night where I probably should have left pudding!).
So I'm counting last week as a win even if it was a gain week. They can't all be loss weeks, and it's the overall trend that matters. Onwards and downwards.
I am slightly questioning whether the recommended goal weight is too low. Looking at my body shape now, I think it might be. Especially since I'm gaining muscle mass. I'm due a check up next week, and might have a chat about that. I know it's because my waist measurement is so large (it's still ridiculous in proportion to my overall height/weight) - but I worry a bit about the rest of me being too thin in order to get to that weight.
