New thread for all of us.

Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

@Puddingpiper on top of @soupforbrains excellent advice, magnesium is also good for keeping you moving. Magnesium Oxide in particular, as well as Citrate. Basically it helps pull water into your intestines and stops things getting too, erm, firm!

Thanks we actually have magnesium gummies in the house so will look at those to check they are the right type

NSV - went to breakfast with my parents and they said you're looking healthier and slimmer and my children said I looked more confident.
Cracked open a long sealed box of clothes that don't fit (mainly 14 and with onr ambitious 12) and tried them on and they all fit!
I'm going to sell a lot of them as it seems the real problem is they were unhinged desperate purchases. Now need to work out vinted or eBay (what's better site for not young people? I've got two unworn jigsaw dresses, Benetton trousers and a very expensive silk billowing French one that the kids say make me look like an old lady)

Also I've got crepey neck! Any advice?

Happy Sunday everyone.

That is amazing news @Flamethrowers it’s lovely to have NSV and to fit into clothes that have not fitted for a while. Definitely sell in Vinted, I have sold a few bits of there and my daughters sells all their clothes on there after one wear.

@soupforbrains thank you I will try anything as the nausea was horrible I did not know if I was hungry or going to be sick it was such a funny feeling.

@CFCmum an amazing amount of weight to lose, I have lost 32LBs since the 28.02 and if it was not for MJ I would have given up by now.

I went out last night and there was a buffet that was full of beige food and pastry items. I was not interested in the pork pies, sausage rolls or quiche and only ate the picked onions on sticks with cheese and I can confirm that they have repeated on me all night along with sulphur burps. I drove so my husband could drink, before MJ I would have got a cab and drunk loads of alcohol (I was feeling better) I did not want to even drink wine.

I think my husband is now getting with suspicious of what diet I am on as the weight loss has been quite dramatic 32LBS in 9 weeks and my shape has to changed.

I am off to walk the dogs over the fields while everyone in the house is still in bed.

Starting my 5mg pen tonight. Had planned to do a couple of weeks at 3.75mg, but I used the golden dose from my 2.5mg to do 3.75mg(ish) last week and didn’t really notice much effect. So, I’m wondering whether to just go for it with the 5mg. I’ve got a holiday booked for July and I really would like to speed up the weight loss over the next 2 months if I can. I was okay with it just ticking over slowly on 2.5mg (just under a stone in 8 weeks) until I got past running the marathon but now I want to move things on.

Not sure how the weight loss will look this week - I normally weigh on Monday morning. Didn’t lose anything last week because of the marathon and this week I’ve had a wedding to attend. Definitely felt suppression food-wise - couldn’t eat all of my main meal and didn’t even touch the buffet! But it definitely didn’t kick in for the alcohol - the hangover was intense! So I’m assuming another weight plateau this week and it will be wholly sponsored by Prosecco!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 04/05/2025 09:31

Morning all. Week 7 weigh in for me. 1lb lost. Forgot to get weighed first thing though. Still, I'm ok with 1lb as had 4lbs last week. 25lbs so far. Can't wait to hit the 2st mark, and then another 3lbs I'll be under 15st which will be huge for me.

Hope everyone is having a good long weekend!

TheBossOfMe · 04/05/2025 09:43

Morning all. @Flamethrowers Vinted is your friend, great NSV!

I had a word with myself and am feeling less despondent - thank you for all the encouragement, lovely people. I reminded myself that even when I was slim, I could easily gain a couple of pounds over special occasions, or when away on holiday, and it's really no big deal, just enjoy yourself over times like that without being too ridiculous, get back into a more restrained eating pattern over the next couple of weeks, and it'll come off again just fine.

So this weekend, we went to Wales with lots of friends and it's been so lovely we all decided to stay a bit longer (it's someone's house, so easy to extend, and they are very lovely and generous hosts who are always happy to have us there). I've tried not to overindulge too much in terms of portion sizes after feeling really uncomfortable on Thursday night, but the reality is with three meals a day that are mainly cooked breakfasts, pub lunches and dinners out, lots of wine, plus obligatory ice cream stops on long hot walks, it's going to be a gain week, and that's OK every now and again. The main thing is I'm not getting stressed about it, and having a really, really lovely time. Loads of laughter, proper wiping tears from eyes laughter, and I really needed that after a bitch of a work week.

And some really great NSVs. Everybody commented on how well I look (code for you've lost weight!), and how good my skin looks. We did the same trip last year, and I really struggled to keep up on some of the walks (it's hilly there!). It wasn't quite effortless this year, but significantly easier - even when going up Sugarloaf and Pen Y Fan. That is a brilliant NSV because it shows how much this is improving my health, as well as my figure. Super, super pleased with that, feels like huge progress. And dare I say it, my arse is starting to look really toned - the glutes are complaining a bit this morning, but they are firm, and no longer lost under a layer of flab. Hopefully the belly will follow suit soon - although I need to incorporate more core exercises into my routine.

So back to sunny me and more positive me today. We've got this!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 04/05/2025 09:48

Nsv - I keep catching sight if myself and thinking how good I look 😂 and this is at 15st 5!! I can't imagine hiw amazing I'll look at 11st 7! And why did I never realise when I was slim?

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 04/05/2025 09:51

I think I need to start working out though. I'm relatively active, almost always get 13k steps a day, and have animals that take a bit of work. I walk quite a bit on my child free weekends (10 to 15 miles, sometimes more) but no actual workouts so it's something I need to start I think.

Any suggestions for stuff to do at home?

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 04/05/2025 10:05

Ooh I have lost! Another 3.7lbs 😁 in total I’ve lost 1st 10lbs over the course of 39 days. I’m so close to being in the 17st region, I’m now at 18st 1lb!!

Davina McCall does quite good workouts! I have her 7 minute workouts DVD. I also like Holly Honjo on YouTube, she does low impact workouts especially for plus size, no star jumps etc…

TheBossOfMe · 04/05/2025 10:41

@Illbefinejustbloodyfine - There's a free Nike Training Club app that I like - real mix of class types and lengths.

AgnethaF · 04/05/2025 11:31

@Flamethrowers i also have a crepey neck. Have started using a retinol serum, but no results as yet.

if anyone has any recommendations of something that works that would be fab!

Help

As you know I injected in my arm yesterday today I feel so sick, the only side effects I had before was feeling cold.

Today I feel like I have been hit by a bus as I am so tired we are meant to be going out tonight for a friends birthday I really do not think I can manage it.

Sorry to hear you've been feeling sick. How are you today? I had a terrible day yesterday. I did a long walk (hour and 20 mins) while my youngest was at his Saturday morning club. By the end of the walk my stomach was massively bloated and I was in a lot of pain.

I spent the rest of the day in pain (seemed like gas-related pain but I couldn't get it to move through my body in the usual way). I couldn't do anything except take buscopan, pain killers and lie down with a heat pad. It was awful. I'd been having diarrhea for a few days earlier in the week, but it seemed to have calmes down. I didn't have it yesterday.

The pain and bloating has largely dissipated overnight, still some twinges and cramps this morning. I haven't had a day like that since the worst days of my IBS, 15-odd years ago. Not sure what to do - I'm on my second 5mg jab and my third is due tomorrow!

TheBossOfMe · 04/05/2025 11:51

@Flamethrowers @AgnethaF I hear The Elevator cream by Trinny London is good.

@SmallSoupcon Did you eat anything different that caused the bloating? I know this sounds ridiculous but lying on your back doing bicycles with your legs (like you get babies to do) really helps with trapped wind.

No, I had chicken and rice the night before, pretty bland stuff! Usually I do movements like you suggested (plus walking) to move trapped wind - but yesterday they made it worse.

I've been reading about how exercise can cause bloating, slowing digestion (even further) by diverting blood flow to the muscles, away from the GI tract which needs oxygen. I can't help but think this must be what happened.

Yetanotherusername2000 · 04/05/2025 12:25

I’ve started using chatgtp for meal ideas and liking it. Had this for breakfast and feel really full in a good way. I have to be careful not to undereat I think.

Interesting. I went to a theme park and walked miles and felt so so bloated and my stomach was really distended. It was painful!

Haven't caught up with the thread for a few days as have been away for the weekend

I normally jab on a Fri but skipped this week as I wanted to be able to eat and drink properly. I'm now regretting not taking it as I was sooo hungry all weekend and the food noise was loud! I think I prefer how I feel when I'm on MJ for sure.

I've eaten so much this weekend though! think it's definitely going to be a gain when I weigh on weds/ Thurs I feel so bloated.

I've also been looking at pics on the group chat and I'm shocked how big I am. Even though I've lost 11 pound I'm still the biggest of my friends. My stomach looks huge and I have 3 chins. I was feeling good about my 11 pound loss but now it's really hitting home how much I have to lose. I'll see my friends again in a few months and hopefully I'll be a bit slimmer by then!

Will do my second 3.75 dose when im home tonight. But nervous as I was so nauseous last week after moving from 2.5 to 3.75 but I don't want to drop back to 2.5 as I found the MJ had worn off by days 5-6 and it was hard the final 48 hours so 3.75 it is

I’m sure you look lovely on the photos, we all tend to zoom in on ourselves and self criticise and see what others won’t! They will just see you having a great time and smiling. X

Lolliz87 · 04/05/2025 15:31

W8 day 7 for me and I’ve lost over 4 pounds this week! Which after 2 weeks of barely losing is very welcome. So am now at a 2 stone loss (my 1st mini target) before my holiday on the 13th which is when I had aimed to lose 2 stone by! So will keep going and see if I can lose another couple before the holiday

Aboutmeabouttime · 04/05/2025 16:41

NSV - went ‘shopping’ in the loft hoping I’d find a couple of shirt dresses for work that I hid up there when I was busting out of the buttons… well found them and they fit 💃🏼 yay!

I habe the same but mix in protein powder and collagen powder which adds 40g of protein and about 150 calories
