New thread for all of us.

Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

So I would prime pen as normal 2 clicks
then 60 clicks
then prime again
then 30 clicks is that right?
does it then go back to 0 ready for next dose? X

Yes, one full dose (turn to 1, so 60 clicks).Change needle, prime again, then a 30 click dose.

Letsgetitdone · 25/04/2025 20:55

Can anyone give me a link to buy the needles that fit on the pens, preferably the same length and thickness please?

I am a silent reader and love keeping up with everyones journeys ❤️

I feel like collectively we need some group mantras. Not trying to make us a cult or anything but;

  1. BE KIND TO YOURSELF
  2. Food is food. Not a moral choice.
  3. Eating unhealthy food does not constitute a ‘failure’
  4. Daily weight will fluctuate for all sorts of reasons. An ‘up’ is not a big deal look at your overall trends.
  5. MJ is only helping you. YOU are still the one choosing the right foods and eating less/moving more etc. YOU have put the effort in, YOU are earning this.
  6. BE KIND TO YOURSELF
  7. SERIOUSLY. PLEASE. JUST GIVE YOURSELF A DAMN BREAK.

I love this.

TheBossOfMe · 25/04/2025 21:46

Another NSV. I have large breasts in relation to my overall frame even when on the slim side. And they don’t shrink much at all when I lose weight. So I’ve very often had to buy up a size to accommodate them and then get clothes adjusted to fit. I have a fab cheap tailor who has all my measurements who has done that for me for a few years.

I popped a couple of dresses in to him today to take in. He looked at me and said he needed to remeasure me. Tits still same size. But inches off everywhere else. Flabby and needs toning but that I can do.

Checking in for weekly weigh in.

Feeling really good, had a good week, stepped up the exercise clothes fit better and the scales....stayed the same 😑

Hopefully they'll make up for it next week 🙏

SW 18st 7lb
CW 17st 7lb
1st Mini GW 16st 13lb

Any chance it might coincide with your period week? I don't tend to loose anything on these (before Wegovy I'd usually retain around 2kg!) but get a big drop at once when it's finished

Other than that, perhaps you've eaten more salt and retained some water? It's so frustrating when that good feeling in your body doesn't align with the scales, but it doesn't necessary mean you've not lost any fat 🫶

CFCmum · 25/04/2025 22:24

Injection 9 today and decided to try the back of the arm! Still on 3.75mg. It was easier to do than I thought but my arm feels heavy and achey now, anybody have this with the arm?

soupforbrains · 26/04/2025 00:04

@TheBossOfMeyou sound like you have a similar build to mine. That’s a GREAT NSV though. Well done!

@CFCmumi CANT fathom the arm one so I’ve never done it. I feel like I have more than enough real estate available to just stick to the thighs it’s easy to reach and it’s easy for me to see what I’m doing.

Puddingpiper · 26/04/2025 00:06

After a lot of fannying around I did the golden shot it wasn’t any where near as bad as I expected. The syringes were actually easier to use than the pen. Most difficult bit was getting the liquid out from the pen.

6.2kg lost in the first 4 weeks I’ve stuck with the 2.5 for another month as my suppression is still pretty good.

Paulahoust · 26/04/2025 06:11

Morning has anyone used the pen after the 30 days and if so how long after?

Christmashope19 · 26/04/2025 06:47

Thank you x

I found you! Haven't had a chance to read through all the updates yet but hope everyone is still feeling good and getting to grips with MJ!

Aboutmeabouttime · 26/04/2025 08:31

End of wk6, second 2.5mg pen
Lost 2lbs, total loss 1st 5lbs… so close to next stone bracket although will probably take me two weeks…

Hope everyone has a good weekend x

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 26/04/2025 08:44

Wow thread 4 is moving FAST! I can't keep up!

Well done to all those having losses, big or small.

Re Piles, an unpleasant side effect of constipation. Thankfully I haven't really suffered as yet, which I'm surprised about tbh. It's definitely worth making some diet adjustments and make sure you're drinking plenty of water!

I woke up this morning feeling......normal. Not thinking about food, not obsessing over a "diet". I feel like I've turned a corner mentally and I'm it for the long haul, and like my habits have changed long term too. Like it's a new way of life rather than a diet. I hope someone else knows what I mean.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 26/04/2025 08:51

To add, I'm going to talk about alcohol. Specifically wine. For many years I've had a problematic relationship with wine. Pre MJ I was drinking wine at least 4 nights a week , often more , often 7. Often, in fact always a whole bottle. If it was in the house I opened it. If I opened it I finished it. If it wasn't in the house I was ok with that, and didn't drink (multiple bottles of fancy gin available that I rarely touch)

So, a bottle of wine most nights, and then wine induced snacks.

I'm on my 6th weekend (I think?) And have had a bottle of wine each weekend only. 1 bottle a week. The first few, finished the bottle in one night. Last week I had 2/3 then a glass the next night. Last night night I had 1/2 and it felt too much and just habit, rather than want or need.

This is honestly, bloody amazing. The difference to my health must be huge

@Illbefinejustbloodyfine I absolutely agree.

I've said this before on here but I feel like MJ is literally changing my brain and if this is how "normal" people feel around food it's no wonder so many people don't understand obesity and think we are just greedy or lack willpower. I'm slowly starting to realise that maybe none of it was ever my fault. Maybe there's something different in my makeup that makes me crave food and whatever it was, MJ is fixing it. I'm only 6 weeks in and already terrified of coming off it eventually. I compare it to my under active thyroid, Ive been on meds for that for a few years and it's stable now but I need to take them for life otherwise it would go dodgy again, maybe it's going to be the same with MJ

I've got underactive thyroid too. Was very disappointed that the meds didn't help weight loss!

I haven't honestly thought as far as coming off it. Originally I planned to use it as a kick start for a few months due to cost. But, see my post above re wine...I'm saving a load of money by not drinking wine and honestly, if I have to stay on a maintenance dose, I will. It's worth it.

Flamethrowers · 26/04/2025 09:07

sw: 73.6 (bmi 28, high cholesterol)
cw: 67.7 (bmi 25.2)
gw: 61 (bmi 23)

end of week eight weigh in and got my weeny woosh. I am 67.7 which is skirting the edge of an acceptable bmi! Im staying af 2.5 and deliberately eating more calories - the dispensing pharmacy took my blood pressure yesterday (which has alway been normal) but its now low (maybe post bad stomach, dehydration despite constantly drinking). On the same day a friend on wegovy went to outpatients after passing out and it turned out they had driven themselves into anaemia by undereating for four months! Trying to be more mindful!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 26/04/2025 09:16

@Flamethrowers almost healthy BMI is AMAZING!! Well done!

Letsgetitdone · 26/04/2025 09:18

@akaFrosty thank you for the link.

Has anyone bought a pen bundle from chemist4u? Can you buy 2 of the same strength pens or do they have to be different strengths?

I am on my 2nd 2.5mg pen and not sure if I will need to move up strength in a couple of weeks so weighing up my options at the moment...will definitely benefit from the price too.

I am on week 6 and have lost 14.5 lbs which I am thrilled with, my photos show a big difference and I haven't felt this good such a long time!
I know others have mentioned it before but I am truly shocked at how much clearer and focused my head feels....very different but also very welcomed.

Thank you!
i feel so much better - running and Pilates.

TheBossOfMe · 26/04/2025 09:50

@soupforbrains - I used to live in the US, and when I had my medicals there, they used to adjust BMI for breast size! Which kind of makes sense, big boobs must weigh a lot. So happy with that NSV though, I've always been an hourglass and turned into a beachball over the last couple of years. I feel like I'm getting me back again. I have a waist! An actual waist!!!!

@Flamethrowers Brilliant progress! I'm a running/pilates fan as well - plus weights. I actually love lifting weights so that's no hardship. Not loving running the way I used to but I know it's good for me so force myself.

Re your friend who is anaemic, the malnutrition risk is real on MJ if you're not mindful about what you eat. I'm anaemic anyway so really have to think about what I put on my plate to get my nutrients as well as calories in when suppression is high. And rattle with supplements!

It's really something else. Went for a drink with DH in town last night and I just genuinely didn't fancy booze at all so I had a 0% G&T, which was rather nice actually. The dopamine-seeking urge is just....gone! The few times I've had wine it's been pleasant but I've not got the same buzz and desire to keep going beyond a couple of glasses or so.

Coming to the end of week 5 for me. Yesterday was the first day I felt normal and SE-free after my first 5mg on monday. I"m still dithering about what Im going to do about my second. I"m now stocked up on Pepto!!!

I'm now definitely a stone down, so 16st 4. BMI down to 34.6 from 36.8.

soupforbrains · 26/04/2025 10:00

Morning everyone. I’m having a very lazy lie in start to the day so haven’t weighed in yet but will do in a bit.

@Illbefinejustbloodyfineyes completely agree ive barely touched alcohol the whole time on MJ (special exceptions for funeral day and my birthday) I’ve a wine rack full of wine and a cabinet full of gin but just don’t fancy it ever. It’s one of the primary reasons I am not bothered at all by the cost of the MJ. It’s definitely being offset.

@Paulahoustit depends what you by after the 30days. The 30 days only starts when the pen is kept out of the fridge. If you keep it in the fridge they keep for months just fine.

GiveMeWordGames · 26/04/2025 10:00

@TheBossOfMe that's fab about your tailor and such a huge NSV. I'm top heavy too, with broad shoulders, and even at my slimmest was never destined to be less than a 12-14 on top.
