Thread SEVEN of this lovely community. Anyone using weight-loss injections to lose more than 5 stone or 30kg is very welcome to join us, no matter what stage of the process you are on. Share your losses, your non-scale victories (NSV), your frustrations and your love of Longley Farm cottage cheese and kiwi fruit here!

Nothing is off limits to discuss - from protein sources to B bellies; Hammocks to smart scales; feeling chilly to easier bum wiping 😃

Please don’t post discount codes on this thread as your post will be deleted. These need to go in the dedicated thread on this board

Hi @ReginaphalangeeeeeI don't really belong here either as my starting weight was higher than yours (having started 1st November my loss is less than yours too I think, I'm 23kg down) BUT this was the thread I found & it's a lovely thread (& velociraptorsvelocirapping was really kind to me).
OTOH I'm very fortunate & don't have any weight related health or mobility problems (I walk 1-2 hrs every day & always have) & have never really eaten UPF/takeaways etc which makes me not fit on some other threads 🤷‍♀️

Anyway my point was 🙈 I don't think there is going to be a perfect thread for anyone because we're are different so all you can do is pick a thread with nice posters!
I'm on my month thread too & they're reaching goal weights & discussing hair/skin care 🤣

I totally get the "so far to go" feeling but I'm also just so grateful that some of it is gone already.
My trousers are lose btw but the smaller size still don't feel totally comfortable (fine to walk but I would want to spend a day driving in them) I'm still twice the size of most people but alopecia really completes the stand out look 😩

I hope your day/week/mood improves 💐

CanIGoHomeNowPlease · 21/04/2025 15:13

@Reginaphalangeeeee I feel the same but this is the thread for me…

I started at 20st 5lbs and probably have a good 10 stone to loose but I’d be happy to get into the 13s. I’ve lost over 3st since January.

I’ve been out and about with my kids this Easter and I’ve actually taken pictures with them. It’s not until I’ve looked back and I’m still actually really fat. It’s disheartening. People have noticed and have said positive things but I must have been totally blind to how big I actually was.

QueenOfHiraeth · 21/04/2025 16:29

@Reginaphalangeeeee I had a bit of a downer a few weeks back and got some great advice and encouragement from others here. One bit that stuck with me was along the lines of "you could give up now or just keep plodding on. In 6 months time which option would you regret if you were looking back?" The idea that my future self will be grateful motivates me on down days.
By coincidence I have just started listening to the book Atomic Habits and, on my walk today, listened to the idea that a block of ice kept in sub-freezing temperatures appears to just stay the same despite tiny increments in temperature until one tiny increase nudges above 0 and it begins to melt. It is not just that one last tiny increase that causes the melting but the combination of that and all the others that went before. Sometimes we are building the foundations of change which is not yet visible but it will be in time.
Keep your chin up!

ANutAsBigAsABoulder · 21/04/2025 16:53

Hello all, loving the NSVs - mine is that I’m able to put my socks on more easily, which is a big win for me.

Also so inspiring to hear from people further along and how well you’re doing. I feel different and my trousers are definitely looser, but I know it’s not obvious yet to anyone seeing me as I’ve got a lot further to go.

SW: 119.3kg
CW: 111.4kg (7.9kg lost)
Current goal to work towards: 99kg

I’m pleased to have lost 5% of my body weight so far, especially with the different routine over the school holidays, with more eating out and Easter chocolate everywhere.

I’ve just started my third week on 5mg and have put in my next order for the same amount. I feel comfortable with the amount of suppression I’m getting so will stay on 5mg for the foreseeable future. Thank you to posters who flagged that stepping up isn’t necessary every four weeks.

Moving up from 2.5mg to 5mg was a bigger jump than I thought it might be, including some stomach pain, occasional diarrhoea and one bout of vomiting. Unpleasant, but everything’s evened out now. I’ve found I can’t seem to drink coffee shop coffee anymore without a fairly quick effect, so am embracing all the different teas available. It’s a constant learning experience about what I can tolerate now.

Ok, I feel like this is a bit of a silly thing to do, and I may very well name change after this, it depends on if it goes wrong but I wanted to share with you lovely ladies as you have been my biggest supporters, commiserators and general nonsense chatters throughout this journey. There is 8 stone (81 kilos) between these 2 pictures. Back then the idea that the second picture would ever be a possibility would have bought me to tears, it would have felt like yet another cruel tease designed to humiliate me and make me feel small.

Well done! You’re looking fabulous! And you look so much happier.

I really want to see a change in my face - I don’t even look like myself these days with so much extra on my neck.

GiveMeWordGames · 21/04/2025 17:11

That is a truly inspirational transformation, @InfoSecInTheCity Go you! 👏 At first glance, I would barely have known it was the same person.

WednesdaysChild25 · 21/04/2025 17:14

Holy cheekbones info!!
the best bit is how much happier the person on the right looks 💐
(I'm faceblind so have been staring trying to see the same person but I just can't 🙈🤣)

I think 81 is a typo? 51kg? Amazing 🤩

Yes it is a typo, at my highest weight when the first photo was taken I was 19st 5lb. I lost some then gained some, then lost some as we all do. Current weight is 10st 13.7lb

WednesdaysChild25 · 21/04/2025 17:56

@InfoSecInTheCity I’m currently roundabout you’re starting weight so you’ve really inspired me thank you

Look at you!! You’ve come such a long way, it’s inspirational for me still near the beginning with a long way to go. Congratulations 😃

You look absolutely fantastic @InfoSecInTheCity ! Thank you so much for posting such a wonderfully inspirational photo (and those fabulously stunning cheekbones!) to help encourage us all. 👏👏👏

dimples76 · 21/04/2025 18:44

Well done @InfoSecInTheCity! Your encouragement is helping a lot of us.

I have overindulged at my Mum's.house - a very rich meal including duck. I did not eat a huge amount in calories and I am under my TDEE for the day but I am worried that there will be repercussions later....On.a positive note I ate much less than the old days. As a child my Dad used to call me first name twopuddings surname. It's coming up.to the 10 anniversary of my Dad's death and I have been thinking about him and that sobriquet a lot.

I agree it can be overwhelming thinking how much further there is to go. Three months in, 15kg down about 45kg to go so 1/4 of the way there. I am just trying to focus on mini targets. So once I get under 110kg I am planning a pedicure and then will think of something else when I get to 100kg - that will be the lightest I have been in since my mid-twenties (late 40s now).

InfoSecInTheCity · 21/04/2025 19:01

Thanks all!

Never thought I had cheekbones, back in the 90s as a kid I had Deirdre Barlow big plastic framed NHS glasses that dug into my fat cheeks leaving a line across each side of my face, so I’ve never seen any hint of cheekbones till this year. The NSVs are weird and thrilling sometimes, I bloody love collarbones, sit absently stroking them when my mind is occupied which probably makes me look like a right weirdo. 😂

Ok took the plunge and did my first jab.
SW 221.4lb
GW about 150lb?
Looks like a very very long journey I’ve just started and feel strangely emotional, so thank everyone for being there!

I was 218lb at the beginning of September last year, so yes it won’t be overnight but it’s not unrealistic to think that you could be at goal by this time next year, going into Summer 2026 with a whole different body, and going through winter 2025 absolutely bloody freezing, it’s the one downside of this whole thing, I can no longer handle cold weather with just a light hoodie I’m like the Michelin Man with 23 layers of thermals and a heated blanket.

QueenOfHiraeth · 21/04/2025 19:54

@InfoSecInTheCity You look like a different, and much younger, woman! What a transformation!
It's funny you mention collarbones as I noticed mine for the first time this morning and was stood at the mirror going 😯

I am pee'd off today despite that though as I have regained 0.8kg due to my holiday last week so have bounced back up from the 12s to the 13s. No chance of losing that this week as I am out for lunch 3 days in a row, out for dinner one night and for a birthday afternoon tea at the weekend. Nobody warned me that retirement involved so much eating and drinking!

Well done! I had a similar start weight to you two months ago and I have a similar goal. I do feel great on this most of the time, and I can definitely see the results.

Side effects: slight headache at the beginning, often quite cold, slightly upset stomach if I eat rich food, a bit light headed sometimes. Poor sleep and anxious feeling (wild dreams!) the first night after jabbing.

Unexpected benefits: clearer thinking, no cravings, can make sensible decisions about food with my head, rather than from being hangry/shaky. Can take it or leave it with sweet food so generally don't eat it, except fruit. Joint pain has reduced. Inflammation generally has reduced. Hardly any hay fever so far this year, which is unusual.

What works for me to ease the journey: taking collagen (skin looks very clear and bright), electrolytes (Zero blackcurrant tablet in 750ml of water in my water bottle after breakfast each day), magnesium supplement in the evening to prevent constipation. Eating two small, nutrient rich meals each day, and using intermittent fasting. Weighing monthly so I don't get hung up on small losses and gains. Shotsy app to see medication levels.

Good luck! There are lots of us here to support you.

Arglefraster · 21/04/2025 19:58

Hope it goes well for you @AdotHam

I'm very amused by the thought of you having to get through all the layers just to stroke your collarbones info 😁
