Hello all! Thanks @MooBaggage!!
So, weird thing happened today, I had a hypo. I’m not on any other medication for my diabetes so I’m not sure why?? MJ shouldn’t make my sugars go low, so I don’t know what’s going on. Felt bloody terrible though!

52soon · 18/04/2025 18:10

@silenceinside amazing result 50kg I am in awe. I did first jab Wednesday and need to lose that to get in healthy BMI which seems like an impossibility at the moment, so will take it a kg at a time and take inspiration from you that it is possible. Congratulations 🎉

alwaysscared · 18/04/2025 18:11

@SilenceInside 50kg! Wow! I can only dream of that at the moment! Well done!

Edited

MJ could make your sugars go low, it stimulates the production of more insulin and makes your body more sensitive to the insulin being produced.

However a one off hypo could be other reasons too:
a virus or other illness starting
dietary changes
stress
alcohol

Monitor it of course and respond in the way the diabetes team have coached you to, but unless it develops into a pattern it’s unlikely to be something you need to worry too much about.

Thanks for the new thread @MooBaggage I like your intro!

What an incredible achievment @SilenceInside you must be so very proud of yourself!

alwaysscared · 18/04/2025 19:36

Thank @InfoSecInTheCity
I’ll keep an eye on it

SilenceInside · 18/04/2025 19:37

tbh I can’t really comprehend it at the moment. I also have the weird body dysmorphia thing where I sometimes feel like I haven’t changed at all. Even though at the same time I can see differences. It’s very odd.

I have another 3st 9lbs to lose, about 24kg, so I’ll be carrying on for a while yet.

MabelSpan · 18/04/2025 20:04

It is strange how our brains work isnt it. I have lost 27.5kg with the same left to lose and I cannot see the change, even though I can fit into a size 20 from a size 26/28. Then there is the peri meno middle that has taken my ribs hostage which I didnt have last time I was this weight in 2014/5.
Bodies and brains are odd. How big must I have looked at a size 28? Dysmorphia is a strange thing both ways round.

NewbieMJ · 18/04/2025 20:09

Congratulations @SilenceInside That is phenomenal!

Happy dancing here - 4 stones down, at last. These last 2 pounds have been soooo slow to come off, but they are gone!

Started 2nd September:
SW: 18 stone 11 (263 lbs. BMI: 43.8)
CW: 14 stone 11 (207 lbs: BMI: 34.4)

I now want to get another 4 stones off, so half way there. Not sure if that is doable, but will keep plodding on and see where I am nearing the end of the year.

Very much enjoying it all and will up my exercise when I get more time (which I will have in a month's time as I have given up a very time-consuming job which gives me zero time to do much of anything, although I am on my feet all day). I am desperate to get swimming and more walking in, but I am eating fantastic food which is making me feel great. My nails and hair are growing at a ridiculous rate and I am sleeping so well. Everyone comments that I am glowing which is lovely. But yes, I do need to up my exercise - there is certainly room for improvement.

Going on a 3 week holiday to the sun next Friday. Mostly self-catering so planning to eat fabulous food (Spain, so lot's of lovely fresh produce) and will be able to choose well eating out too. I bloody love the sun, so cannot wait.

Thanks for the new thread @MooBaggage and here's to all of us lovely losers.

And, I have just reminded myself today is injection day and I completely forgot until I wrote this post!

MooBaggage · 18/04/2025 20:12

Yep... I've 'only' lost 34lbs so far, but at the same time think I look just the same, if not bigger, but then found my original photo I had to send to MedExpress in January and I'm HUGE in it 😮 Just can't believe how big I was... I was also in size 26 - 28 and am now a 22 on top and 20 on the bottom. I'll keep my prescription photos so at least I'll be able to see the change on a bad day...

Thank you @MooBaggage. Glad to have caught up on here & hanging on to the thread.
I’ve had a strange day, emotional coming back to parents house for Easter with my dad no longer here with us 💔. Meant I really struggled to eat my lunch but did this weird mine sweeping of DC’s plates, not much but why eat chips when I could hardly eat my health chicken & rice!
We normally get a take away here when arriving. I really didn’t want one so convinced everyone a light snack tea would be better. This attempt at a lighter tea resulted in eating a few handfuls of crisp, bagels & 1/2 sandwich in addition to my salad. Really not that bad compared to my previous eating but my tummy hurts so much. It is gurgling & I think trapped wind! But sore under ribs left side too. Argggh now can’t sleep & still have my stupid cold 🤧
Feeling sorry for myself & sad.

So back in 2012 was the highest my weight got according to any records I can find, I embarked on the traditional ‘eat less, move more” journey and lost a bit of weight, stalled then gained some back and that game went on for the next few years.

As of today I am officially exactly 8 stone lighter than I was when I weighed in 2012.

My weight this morning is 156lb, BMI 23.72.
