I started on Wegovy at 17 stones and yesterday my scales said 12 stone 10. I should be able to fit into my wedding dress soon (married 21 years in August). I'm really happy and proud of myself BUT when I look in the mirror I just can't see it.

So back in 2012 was the highest my weight got according to any records I can find, I embarked on the traditional ‘eat less, move more” journey and lost a bit of weight, stalled then gained some back and that game went on for the next few years.

As of today I am officially exactly 8 stone lighter than I was when I weighed in 2012.

My weight this morning is 156lb, BMI 23.72.

8 blooming stone!! 8!!! That is just fantastic 😍😍😍

That's also just brilliant!! 😍

I think our eyes get used to seeing smaller versions of ourselves, but we're so used to thinking (knowing!) we're big, we now think our current size is big. This is what I think I'm doing, anyway. Try looking at pre- MJ photos, to see what you looked like at your biggest - remind yourself how much you've changed?

You've done so brilliantly well - and your body will be very happy! 😊

Thank you @MooBaggage. Glad to have caught up on here & hanging on to the thread.
I’ve had a strange day, emotional coming back to parents house for Easter with my dad no longer here with us 💔. Meant I really struggled to eat my lunch but did this weird mine sweeping of DC’s plates, not much but why eat chips when I could hardly eat my health chicken & rice!
We normally get a take away here when arriving. I really didn’t want one so convinced everyone a light snack tea would be better. This attempt at a lighter tea resulted in eating a few handfuls of crisp, bagels & 1/2 sandwich in addition to my salad. Really not that bad compared to my previous eating but my tummy hurts so much. It is gurgling & I think trapped wind! But sore under ribs left side too. Argggh now can’t sleep & still have my stupid cold 🤧
Feeling sorry for myself & sad.

I'm sorry 😔 That's really hard having to be there for the first Easter since losing your Dad.

I hope you got some sleep and your stomach has settled down ❤

Hi! I think I may have commented on a previous thread but I’m rubbish at keeping up.

I’m on 5mg mounjaro, started on it end of January and as of yesterday I’ve lost 2stone 4lbs taking my weight to 16stone and 3/4!

goal weight is 10 stone so still have a very long way to go, can’t see any difference in myself in the slightest but my clothes are 100% looser. I’ve had 3 weeks of losing nothing despite being in a definite calorie deficit (track and weight everything!) but I’m plodding on and have to keep telling myself how much of an achievement losing 2 stone is!

Still having side effects and feel rubbish for the first couple of days after having the jab, very nauseous but this has eased! I’m giving myself till Christmas then will review mounjaro etc

Twinstudy · 19/04/2025 08:23

Morning, joining if that's ok :) I've almost lost 5 stone now (started in July), would like to lose another three, it's nice to know I'm over halfway through! I took a photo yesterday and compared it to the one I took in July last year to send to the provider (not many other photos of me from then 😄) and I can finally see the difference! I've gone from a 22/24 to a 16 and it's lovely having more choice in clothes (albeit from Vinted as hopefully lose some more!)

CanIGoHomeNowPlease · 19/04/2025 09:26

@Reginaphalangeeeee I’ve found it very hard going to my mum and dad’s house since my mum died. I still can’t call it just dad’s house.

I’ve struggled over the Easter holidays as I’ve done stuff with the kids that I would have been straight on the phone to talk to her about.

4 months into this and she would have been so proud. She’d be proper worrying about it but pleased with the results 🤣.

Week 16 and I’ve lost just under 1lb but happy with that as I’ve got my period and I always hold on to some weight during that week.

SW 20st 5lbs
CW 17st 6lbs
TW 12st 7lbs
Total loss 44.6lbs/3st 2.6lbs/20.2kgs

Darlinghag · 19/04/2025 09:53

Morning everyone!

Its a low loss for me this week, just .3lbs, taking me to 14st 6.6lbs. All understandable, my period has been and gone this week, and at some points I was showing as 2lbs up! 2.7lbs to Onederland, would love to nab that one in the next two weeks. I have 5 weeks for my 14st goal too.

Some things this week:

  • Easter eggs will be arriving tomorrow. I’m geared up for it. I get more than one as my family are all mad for buying them, but this year I am going to be ruthless! Ones I do not LOVE will be going to the food bank on Monday.
  • I won’t be tracking tomorrow as I will be in my mother’s house and will eat two meals there, but will be engaging in moderation, as I did at Christmas. I don’t like roast dinners so that will be an easy fix for me, but its all the picky bits that float around all day that potentially will be in my mouth. Will also endeavour to keep my water intake up - that is often the thing that slips with me. Will definitely eat a lot of mini eggs!
  • With M&S closed tomorrow, I’m gonna head over there tonight to see what yellow stickers I can scavenge, MJ deficit friendly of course!!
  • I’m acknowledging hard that I NEED to up my activity or accept my BMR versus deficit will mean I can not manage a 500 deficit for much longer without health consequences. Its working right now as my deficit is much lower for days 1 and 2 post jab and I cycle up in cals later in the week, but a bit more activity will allow my loss to remain consistent without losing more calories. I’m currently working on 1600 (besides days 1 and 2, but don’t stop myself having them, just cant!), my BMR is in the 1500s and am not prepared to go lower right now, until my body is small enough to work with it.
hope folks are doing well!
RainbowConnection1 · 19/04/2025 10:33

Congratulations to everyone on the fantastic losses! You are all helping to keep me going 😃.

I started my journey on the 14th March weighing 18st 10lbs. Today I weigh 17st 10lbs, I have managed to lose a stone in 5 weeks and I can’t believe it! Took my 6th dose last night so we’ll see how this week goes.

alwaysscared · 19/04/2025 10:34

Another official weigh in day and another maintain. Still bouncing up and down the same 3lbs. It’s been 6 weeks now. I am thoroughly depressed and emotionally exhausted with life and just feel like shit. I’m needed by my son pretty much all the time (he is autistic, has massive metal health issues because of this, he’s not left the house for 4 years and I am his full time carer) and when I was losing weight I really felt motivated to start living a bit of a life for myself, but now I’m just bobbing around the same weight, I just think, what’s the point? I feel useless and I really hate myself right now, for how I look and for what I have done to myself over the years. I have suffered with mental health issues since I was 5, my son since he was 7 (he’s 11 now) and feel like I’m somehow being punished. Sorry, I’m rambling again. When I look in the mirror, I certainly don’t see someone who has lost 64lbs, I just see a blob

Eugh - I'm so sorry you haven't seen a change this week... but - you've started to eat a bit more and have more protein, no? So it's a good sign I think that you've not gone up - keep going and I'm sure you'll see it soon - I have faith!

And 64lbs is just amazing - you've lost twice the amount I have and at the very least, you're keeping it off - you're a different person now, weight-wise - you will never be those 64lbs heavier again 💪

I really hope you see the scales move downwards next week - completely get how related it is to feeling good - I am exactly the same.

@MooBaggage Thanks, yes I’ve upped my calories and protein. I’ve decided to try and have a refeed day today. Have some things I enjoy eating and see if it makes a difference. Probably won’t, I’ll probably gain, but I’m all out of ideas

Annoyed. I just realised that I commented on this post under a different user name than my posts on the previous thread. Never mind!

Congrats on all the amazing losses. I've lost about a stone in 5 weeks since starting. Still a long way to go but more than the weight loss, the calm and space that MJ gives me is invaluable.

Fuck those who say it’s not a miracle drug .. for me it absolutely has been .. I started at 22 stone with a gastric sleeve (2018) got down to 16stone but there I stayed despite fasting .. changing my diet with Zoe (well worth it) and upping my commitment to the gym to 5X a week.. I built muscle but not a single pound was lost .. UNTIL.. Mounjaro. I started in May 2024. By January I was 9st 1lb.. I’m 5’7” so bang in the middle of healthy for the first time in 30 years.. no more high BP.. no more knee injections for pain, no more pre diabetic monitoring.. I’ve saved the nhs a fortune and I’ve saved my own health .. saggy skin was a problem.. so took the plunge and had a tummy tuck .. not easy but so so glad.. now I can actually enjoy my weight loss . I have been super lucky I guess. I have just done it as instructed and moved up every month .. now I’m moving down to fing that sweet spot between eating what I need and no more … you can do it guys .. I have an incredibly low amount of will power . If I can do it .. anyone can !

MooBaggage · 19/04/2025 13:32

OMG someone remove my access to Vinted immediately!

I now have about 5 x size 20 tops that are a bit too small but should be perfect for holidays in June/July 😬

I've also got a few size 20 jeans/jeggings that are perfect. I really should get a couple of size 22 tops to see me through the next couple of months, but I really don't want to do it, so am wearing baggy size 26/28 tops and perfect bottoms 😄

I must admit it's a lovely problem to have - and I'm re-discovering my love of colour in clothes - I've worn the same dark tops for the last few years, but always loved colour in the past - am so glad to be getting back to things that are more me!

And size 20 seems so small...! 😮

I will be a proper spin if I ever get below that..!

Anyone else finding the Primark clothes sizes so annoying?! I’m living in very baggy size 18-20 (XL) clothes currently (also slightly stretched from when I probably should have been wearing a 2XL) but Primarks next size down is 14-16 (L) which is still a bit small for me. Whyyy do they size like this?! Would a 16-18 be so difficult?

taylorswift1989 · 19/04/2025 19:35

Thanks @WeAllHaveWings it worked!

I wanted to mention I've signed up for this (free) event. Not sure how many talks I'll be able to go to but some of them sound really interesting/helpful, so thought I'd share with you all.

Wow you are doing so well!!!
16weeks is not a long time at all.

Yes my dad would be pleased with my progress too but also worried I’d loose too much. Not sure where this comes from because it is actually so hard to keep loosing.

Thanks for understanding but I am so sorry you do. Grief is absolutely awful & life changing. However hard weight loss is I am glad I have something positive to focus on. In an alternative universe, going through this grief at the weight I was would have been harder and I know I would have eaten for comfort and gained more and got much lower in mood. So for that, I am grateful for MJ at this time x

Sending positive wishes to you. You are doing so well.

QueenOfHiraeth · 19/04/2025 23:32

I haven't tracked my food all last week as have been away with family but, even if I haven't lost weight, the memories we made will outweigh the disappointment 😍

Many years ago, at Slimming World of all places, an analogy was made that some people want to travel from A to B as quickly as possible so go by motorway so they can enjoy their destination whereas others will go on smaller roads, enjoy the journey and, sometimes, stop and enjoy other places along the way. MJ is the same and I am definitely taking a more scenic route!
I need to get back on track though before my next holiday (oh the joys of retirement!)

Twodogsisbetterthanone · 20/04/2025 07:32

Hi everyone! 👋

just started week three, have lost 8lbs so far. Only another 76lbs to go. I’ve decided I want to get down to a good horse riding weight again, so that’s my aim.
