@Darlinghag sounds rubbish 😔 Hurrah for annual leave coming up though! Bloody work - I'm on a countdown these days - 3 1/2 years until I can retire..! Hope you feel better and more on top of it all soon - I can relate to the work stress = life stress feeling...

Amazing losses at the moment! @Zebracat I think it might be partly the effects of MJ too, as I still can't get over being free of Plantar Fasciitis after my first few days on it - the anti infammatory effects are amazing, so may have helped you too.

I've noticed my hip pain is much reduced - I've always had a dodgy right hip and although there is still a bit of pain, it's nothing like what it used to be - probably a combination of 3 stone lighter and reduced inflammation. Yet another reason I never want to not be taking some dose of MJ!

I think you are right and it is the mounjaro too. It enables me to exercise. I’m swimming every day, 45 minutes of front crawl, and then today we walked the whole park. I normally get to the 1st bench and have to sit then come home, and when home I have to lie down. Today I hoovered! So I’d aced my exercise before lunch and then spent the afternoon sorting out the dumping ground in my garden. I love this.

RobinEllacotStrike · 17/05/2025 19:44

I got tipped off about a samples/overstock sale in town today for a fashion brand I think must be based here - Tallulah & Hope.

I had a fun time there. Tried on many clothes- mostly quite beautiful kaftan type dresses, many embroidered. And trousers, tops etc.

it was a communal changing room & I felt completely relaxed trying on clothes with other women. We were all having a laugh and saying what looked good, was it too tight etc. I can’t remember ever using a changing room like this before - all in together. I was glad i was wearing reasonable underwear and I felt like my body was completely normal. What a marvellous drug this is.

At first I was going for the biggest sizes, but quickly realised I needed mediums. And 16 in trousers.

so now I am the proud owner of FIVE new kaftan style dresses in a range of colours. It’s going to be a very Margo Ledbetter style summer. I’m wearing one to watch the Eurovision tonight (just at home).

<slow swish>

Zebracat · 17/05/2025 19:58

@RobinEllacotStrike Brilliant. I think we all know how that might have gone pre mounjaro. I’m so pleased for you. I just showered and instead of my customary pjs dressed in something rather more alluring. Don’t think he’s noticed. But honestly camis, sexy knickers and robes usually make me feel like a trussed up Turkey. Not tonight. I feel good!

Hi! Can anyone post a link to the diabetic syringes/needles for the golden dose? My delivery of my pen is delayed

SeasonalKitsch · 17/05/2025 21:26

Evening all!

I love reading this thread (which I’m only catching up on once a week or so as I spent far too much time on MN last year, New Year’s resolution to reduce it!). It’s great hearing tips, experiences, and I’ve been screenshotting recipes and food ideas.

Im week 3, have lost 5lbs on MJ but 20 since the end of Jan. I’m doing a lot of strength training so I’m seeing inches come off more quickly than the pounds. So I suddenly realised yesterday that my previous 24s (probably should have been in a 26) were far too big, so I’ve broken in to the 20/22 box in the wardrobe. Honestly it’s not an enormous difference but I’m feeling amazing getting back in to clothes I reluctantly packed away 18m ago.

Have felt the effects wearing off by day 4 this week, so definitely need to go up a dose. But I tried MJ a year ago and was violently ill on 5, so I think I’ll take it slowly and click to 3.5 to start with.

Just back from a small walk in the sunshine - one that I actually suggested we do 😮Only 7,500 steps, but felt good and is something I couldn't have done pre-MJ. Feeling like this week has been a good one and will probably weigh on Wednesday as I've got a day off then - seeing Mission Impossible with my best friend for her birthday, then Pizza Express afterwards, so better weigh before then! 😀

I'm on week 1 day 5. Side effects have now stopped, but I'm a bit nervous for the next dose. But the food noise has definitely gone.

I've got 30kg to lose but would be happy with 20 (mainly because 30 seems unbelievably ambitious).

MooBaggage · 18/05/2025 14:24

@BerfyTigot Hello 😊 I know what you mean re: setting a target that feels a million miles away. I've got an end target, but then about 20 targets in between!

I'm very nearly at 20kg loss - currently down 19.55kg, which seems bonkers.

My first big interim target was to hit 17 stone - am currently 17 st 2lbs, (down from 20 st 3lbs) so nearly there - and then I get to fill in a bit of @InfoSecInTheCity 's amazing spreadsheet 😀

Keep going - and hopefully you'll be OK on week 2 💪

OP posts:
Puddingpiper · 18/05/2025 14:39

@MooBaggageim the same and have many mini targets I hit my first one this morning below 100kg for the first time since the child was born. It is the first 10kg and 33% of my big target.

Next target is BMI of 29.9 so I am overweight rather than obese that is only a few kilos away. I need the dopamine hit of success every few weeks. Another 20kg seems like a big mission.

BerfyTigot · 18/05/2025 14:39

@MooBaggage thanks for the welcome. Good idea to break it into chunks. Maybe I'll go for 5kg at a time 🤞

SparklyFinch · 18/05/2025 14:49

Hi! So pleased to have found this! Brand new here! I have just ordered my first dose of Mounjaro, currently 114kg with a very aspirational goal of 70kg, I’m 5’4” so a lot to lose. Reading through this has been so helpful! Excited!

EternalFatalist · 18/05/2025 14:52

Hi all. I am still chugging along. I hit a long plateau, which was quite annoying, despite consistent exercise, lots of water, and diligent tracking of calories. I was still on 5mg and had good suppression, but decided to move up to 7.5mg and "poof"...2 lb loss. Yay! So I am now down 63 lbs (bye-bye 28.5% of my original body weight) since last July and am feeling great.

I've got another 30+ lbs to go, so I will keep at it. I'm glad to see so many of us on this wellness journey together.

Puddingpiper · 18/05/2025 14:54

@alwaysscared I fast majority of days generally dinner eat around 6.30-8.30pm depending on what the kids are doing, brush my teeth as a this is the end of the food eating window moment, I’ll generally eat again about 2/3pm depending when I get hungry.

I still drink coffee in a morning no one needs that taking away from them! I have just made the switch to an electrolytes water during the day as well as coffee to hopefully drink more fluid.

Cantwaituntiltheyareover · 18/05/2025 15:46

SW of 18.7st - 29/09/14 - BMI of 45.9
CW of 12.625 st - 18/05/25 - BMI of 31!!

Have just hit 6 stone loss which I never truly thought was possible!! Was size 22-24, probably should have been a 26 in trousers but now pretty much a 16. Jeans in 16 would be a bit too snug but even bought size 14 top and it fitted which I found amazing ....and weird!

For all those starting out, I literally just aimed for 1/2 stone at a time. Still not sure what my actual target will be, but in 7lb I will only be overweight as opposed to obese 3 on the BMi. Good luck k and we'll done to everyone starting out

QueenOfHiraeth · 18/05/2025 17:07

I don't know if those are suitable for medical injecting?
If you look in the product info it says "Notice - This product is suitable for industrial, scientific laboratory or household tools only." which suggests to me that they may not be fully sterile.

I use the ones @MooBaggage linked to. They are sterile and supplied from a registered pharmacy chain

claudiawinklemansfringetrimmer · 18/05/2025 17:19

I just broke through mine then went away and regained it but have managed to reach a view that memories and family time outweigh it. It's only a number and i will go again soon
Have a great holiday!

Mounjaronewbie25 · 18/05/2025 18:21

@Puddingpiper definitely breaking it down into lots of mini targets helps with the motivation. Means you’re achieving something nearly every week.

I’ve my goals broken down into every 10 pounds lost, half and full stones lost, kgs lost, BMI points dropped, % of body weight lost, % of goal loss, dress sizes, inch and cm measurements. 🤣 I am quite sad like that but I love numbers and data so it makes me happy being able to tick off at least one of those mini milestones every week lol.

CoffeeCakeAndALattePlease · 18/05/2025 18:26

W5 D6…. 20lb loss now.
After several days of discomfort i FINALLY managed to “go” today - what a relief! 😅
I think I was dehydrated…. hopefully I can avoid that again.

InfoSecInTheCity · 18/05/2025 18:30

I’m another who loves mini goals and data, it helps me to refocus when I start losing the will and gives me something to work towards. Actually not sure what I’ll do when I hit the final goals. I think I’ll have to set some new ones related to muscle mass and body fat percentage.
