I'm playing catch up but need to come & tell people who will understand- I managed to make a mistake somehow & now have a 2.5mg pen instead of the 5mg pen I thought I ordered.

ARRRRGGGGHHHH as expensive mistakes go this is definitely one 🫠

Oh no, that's not ideal. Can easily see how it can happen though.

dimples76 · 13/05/2025 19:49

They do look good @MooBaggage. I had a go at egg bites when I was doing keto and they turned out rather rubbery- yours look a lot more tempting.

Not that I want to eat much. I moved up to 7.5 on Saturday and since then have experienced a recurrence of sulphur burps and diarrhoea. I think that the latter has passed but I was up and down all night to the toilet. It took a lot to get going this morning, as I was chatting at the school gates DD pointed out that I had my shirt on inside out! I ended up taking immodium this morning as I was taking DS to a therapy appointment.

alwaysscared · 13/05/2025 22:09

So I have hit 70g of protein today, not perfect but getting there. Still got to work on my sugar intake, it’s reduced, but not by enough yet! I’ll get there (I hope!!)

MooBaggage · 14/05/2025 10:47

OMG I've just been looking at a MN thread where someone is asking for something to go with her beautiful black evening dress and it only just occurred to me that I COULD BE WEARING STUFF LIKE THAT NEXT YEAR!!

Obvs I know I could also wear stuff like that in my size right now 🙄and I did have a couple of Dolly and Dotty dresses in size huge that I loved, that are now too big - but the thought of a slinky evening dress has got me 😮because never in my life have I thought that might be possible....

@InfoSecInTheCity have you found yourself buying 'slinkier' stuff now you're the size you've got to?

This is a whole new potential world - assuming (a) I make it to target and (b) that includes boob shrinkage...!

InfoSecInTheCity · 14/05/2025 11:50

@MooBaggage I don’t really live the kind of life that calls for slinky evening gowns, I’d be wearing it to Tesco 😂 I have however been buying nicer nighties rather than just an old pair of leggings and xxxl tshirt, and things like tops that artfully fall off my shoulder exposing my collarbones rather than hoodies and yet more T-shirts. I seek out v-necks now because I really like my shoulders and want to show them off, also wearing shorts a lot because I’m happy with my legs.

MooBaggage · 14/05/2025 12:09

ooh an artful shoulder drop! No, I'm not a slinky evening dress wearer either - but I may need to create the opportunities to, in the future, hopefully..!!

Just tried Kefir protein yogurt thing, gross on its own, stir in peanut butter drizzle and cinnamon and it’s pretty nice!! Topped with a (very) small portion of frozen grapes and blueberries! Nice lunch and 18g of protein.

MooBaggage · 14/05/2025 13:40

You're all about the protein now, @alwaysscared !

do you eat eggs - apologies I can't remember? If you do, I can share my egg bites recipe - have just made another batch and am quite taken with them 😀

OP posts:
alwaysscared · 14/05/2025 13:41

@MooBaggage yes, eggs is one of my go to protein sources! I’m not a good cook though!

MooBaggage · 14/05/2025 13:55

@alwaysscared me neither - I avoid cooking and am mainly a freezer-tea girl! But these took a few mins to prepare and what I like about them is that they're small and snack-y, so handy to nibble at 😀

I didn't weigh or measure anything, so did:

about 1/2 carton of egg whites (I got the carton from Tesco)
A couple of big dollops of greek yoghurt
some defrosted spinach (I buy bags of frozen spinach to stick in things)
big handful of grated mozzarella (I buy it ready grated...!)
Some salt/pepper/garlic powder

Mix it all up and spoon it into a muffin tin-type baking tray. I greased the muffin bits first with a bit of butter. I also put a sprinkling of grated parmesan on top for extra cheesiness....

Bake for about 25 mins until they look brown on top. Sorted!

That mixture made enough for 2 x trays worth of egg bites, so loads really. I think I'll probably add some chorizo/bacon into my next lot, maybe - or anything I've got in the fridge.

They're high protein, low-ish fat (just the cheese really) and v low carbs - so we can't possibly get into trouble 😃

OP posts:
MooBaggage · 14/05/2025 13:56

oh I meant to say - you can use cottage cheese instead of the greek yog, but I'm lactose intolerant so use LF greek yog instead as I can't have cottage cheese.

Has anyone made a mistake with an order and were your supplier helpful? I ordered a 7.5 pen when I am currently on 12.5 and didn’t realise till I got the email telling me when it would be delivered to the pharmacy (I am with ASDA)

I can’t believe I made such a silly mistake

InfoSecInTheCity · 14/05/2025 14:24

Oh, I don’t cook, that’s why I got a husband, he takes care of any food that multiple people have to eat I just sort out food for me. I’m also really busy and refuse to dedicate any time or energy to a task I don’t like doing so my protein tends to come in ready made packs.

Longley Farms full fat cottage cheese, a third of a pot is about 100 cals and 2 decent spoon fulls, so I just eat that stood in front of the fridge if I’m peckish.
Sainsburys extra special (or whatever their fancy own brand is called) full fat yoghurt, again with the spoon and the fridge and the calorie count for 2 decent big spoons.
Ember Chilli Rub flavoured biltong, small bag is 70 calories, bigger bag is 115 calories. Eat the size determined by hunger level.
Pack of 2 boiled eggs from the sandwich section of the supermarket is 120 calories. I add salt and/or salad cream
Fridge Raiders chicken mini bag is 49 calories
Chorizo pepperami is 99 calories.
Mini babybel light is 49 calories

Twice a week I make some kind of slow cooker meat and veg meal, each batch gets me 4 portions. I freeze one and then use the other 3 for lunches. Freezing one means I have a selection of different meals so if I want to add variety, I’ll freeze another fresh portion and substitute in a random frozen meal to the rotation. I go with 500g lean meat as my protein and then add whatever veg I fancy (non-starchy) Tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, onion, peas… and either stock or tinned tomatoes. That means every batch has a similar macro and calorie breakdown, generally around 250 calories per portion. I did experiment a bit last week with a smaller pack of meat and a handful of red lentils and really liked it, so when I do a batch tomorrow I’m going to do 250g mince and 100g red lentils which the Internet tells me should give me the same quantity, more fibre, similar protein but less calories. We shall see.

In my experience a good supplier would have questioned your order rather than dispense a dose that wasn't in line with your previous order.

Have you tried contacting them? If they won't help, I would go elsewhere (most are cheaper than Asda), using the details from your last 12.5mg. Hopefully there is a very long expiry on the 7.5mg so you can keep it for later if you have to go this route.

Evenstar · 14/05/2025 14:29

@CatsorDogsrule I have had a message almost straight back saying they can’t do anything ☹️

alwaysscared · 14/05/2025 15:11

Some good ideas for protein on here, thanks for sharing!
I may have a go at the egg bites, or may get my husband to make them 😂

taylorswift1989 · 14/05/2025 16:05

I make protein smoothies for breakfast with kefir, whey protein powder, collagen, and frozen berries. Delicious and a good way to get a big amount of protein in at the start of the day. I often make it the night before so i can just grab it from the fridge in the morning.

Carolwithane · 14/05/2025 17:05

I often have a protein shake at the gym or a protein chocolate mousse from Lidl with a few strawberries or raspberries. Some days I don't feel like eating and wait until lunch time but that's not often. At weekends I'll sometimes have toast and boiled egg. Trying to stay away from from Granola which I ate far too much or and rolls n square sausage which I can't eat without a tattie scone! 🙄😂

RobinEllacotStrike · 14/05/2025 17:35

I'm feeling very off colour today (progesterone/HRT/meno related) and I couldnt face eating, got stupidly hungry and ate a Bagel of Desperation with Peanut Butter. I can't believe I used to hanker for them - it did the job I needed it to do but bread/bagel etc still tastes horrible to me.

Clothing - I'm late to the discussion. I've often made my own clothes and I had some really cool one off dresses etc. But I really enjoy wearing clothing so much more now. Its not the clothes that have changed necessarily, but my attitude. I'm not thinking what fits? whats comfortable, (and in the winter) whats warm? Its more ooh I love wearing this, and I love wearing this.

My jeans have some room in the waist band and I'm (prepare yourself) Tucking Things In!!! And it looks good!
I'm having more fun styling what I wear with what I have etc.

Bearing in mind I work from home so this is all just for my own pelasure and enjoyment. I used to think it didn't matter what I wore as I WFH - but now I'm enjoying getting a little more put together even if its just for me.

I posted almost the same problem yesterday! I apparently ordered a 2.5 rather than the 5 I wanted. Haven't heard back from Oushk yet (what would the oushkers say!!) I know they can't take a return but I'm hoping they'll let me order again early - if not I'll go elsewhere with my last script as evidence (which I keep meaning to do anyway...). The lack of response to my email isn't all that reassuring .

Mine is very annoying but no reason for them not to fulfill. Yours surely shouldn't have issued such a jump in dose? Hopefully that might give you more pushback.

Evenstar · 14/05/2025 19:28

Well it does seem odd they never queried a drop of two doses, you hope they would query an increase 🙄

I think I would maybe email asking them to confirm that they are happy to prescribe a jump of two doses..

OTOH they do get points for replying to emails 🤔

Hotflushesandchilblains · 14/05/2025 21:07

Weigh in tomorrow, but plucked up the courage to go to the doctor today to see if I can get the jabs on the NHS. Was expecting to be told to get lost (in professional language) but he was really nice and helpful and has made the referral!!! I have been stressing about how I am going to keep affording this (change of job and slight loss of income looming). I am so pleased.

QueenOfHiraeth · 14/05/2025 22:02

I heard a Dr on TikTok talking about some obesity research by the Mayo Clinic so have been reading up on it.

Apparently they have discovered that most obese patients (around 85%) can be classified into 4 groups:
Hungry brain (abnormal satiation) - don't feel full to know when to stop when eating. Will consume excess if food available e.g. as buffet
Emotional hunger - eat for pleasure, stress, etc.

Hungry gut (abnormal satiety) - don't stay full so hunger resumes between meals
Slow burn - decreased metabolic rate
The patients were given a low calorie diet and exercise programme with half given medication based on the phenotype and the other half given medication based on patient/physician preference. Those with medication based on phenotype lost more weight than the others in a ratio of 1.75 to 1
GLP1s were used as the medication of choice for the Hungry gut group which makes sense as these people have a fast gut transit time which will slow down.

I really identify with the Hungry Gut definition as I have always had a fast gut and fullness never lasts for me. Even on MJ I don't have the fullness and appetite suppression lots of others get. If I have a second type I suspect it is Hungry Brain and think MJ suppressing food noise helps that too.
What do you all think? Anyone identify strongly with any?

I think it's really encouraging that obesity research is progressing so much

alltablenochairs · 14/05/2025 22:20

I'm totally an emotional hunger person. Even now after being in MJ for 8ish months I still find it hard to break emotional eating habits sometimes.
