Thread SEVEN of this lovely community. Anyone using weight-loss injections to lose more than 5 stone or 30kg is very welcome to join us, no matter what stage of the process you are on. Share your losses, your non-scale victories (NSV), your frustrations and your love of Longley Farm cottage cheese and kiwi fruit here!

Nothing is off limits to discuss - from protein sources to B bellies; Hammocks to smart scales; feeling chilly to easier bum wiping 😃

@MooBaggage The weekend 'enjoyment factor' is why I chose Tuesday as jab day. I don't go mad with food etc at the weekends any more, but it's nice to be able to enjoy socialising with family and friends and eat sensibly without having massive supression!

Same here, although it was a happy accident and Monday in my case.

So, I’ve downloaded nutra check and put my details in. It says my goal calories are 1327?? That’s not right surely? If my BMR is 1500??
It does count all the calories I am burning through my Apple Watch.

Zebracat · 13/05/2025 10:50

Don’t know @alwaysscared , but I’m sure someone who does will be along shortly. I feel really impressed by how you managed to shift from a quite defensive position to a real openness , in explaining the challenges of your circumstances and to learning about your nutritional needs . That’s so hard to do.

InfoSecInTheCity · 13/05/2025 11:13

What info did you put in @alwaysscared I've just set up an account as don't use NutraCheck, I entered the following:

Female
41 years
5ft 8in
CW: 152
GW: 141
Work activity - Light
Leisure activity - Light
Goal - 1 lb a week loss

And my target calories are 1519 a day which is about the same as Myfitnesspal (1560 a day - and MFP is free not £5.99 a month after free trial).

I think I remember correctly that you are shorter than me, so I would expect your calories to be a bit less but not dramatically so.

hellohellooo · 13/05/2025 11:43

Back uo a few pounds

Had 6 gins on Saturday
Was so badly needed

Now

On it

Fingers crossed xxxx

Well done all

alwaysscared · 13/05/2025 11:47

@Zebracat sorry, I didn’t mean to come across as defensive!! I apologise if I sounded that way. I think I’m just so frustrated.
@InfoSecInTheCity I put in
Age: 42
Height: 172cm
Weight: 196lbs
Work activity: light
Leisure activity: light
Goal: -1lb a week

alwaysscared · 13/05/2025 11:52

Ah just checked, I’d put my weight loss as 1.5lbs a week. It now reads 1577

You will all be proud, I had 2 rice cakes with drizzled peanut butter for my breakfast. I’m going to purchase some lentil cakes, as these have more protein.

MooBaggage · 13/05/2025 12:14

Very proud, @alwaysscared 😊

I need help - have bought a carton of egg whites (I have no idea what came over me) and now have no idea what to do with them!

Obvs I'll google, but if anyone does stuff with egg whites - other than add to omelettes (which I don't really like!) that would be marvellous 😀

@MooBaggage I am tempted to say meringues filled with whipped cream and raspberries, but that would be wicked wouldn't it!

GiveMeWordGames · 13/05/2025 12:21

Yes, all I can think of is dessert stuff. 😂Alaska Bomb, lemon meringue pie.....

MooBaggage · 13/05/2025 13:12

Baaaaaad people!! 😁 I'm going to try making some egg bites with egg whites, greek yog, spinach and cheese - wish me luck!

AnneinEdinburgh · 13/05/2025 13:49

Good luck @MooBaggage but those mini pavlovas are now stuck in my brain! Begone bad dessert items!!!!

MooBaggage · 13/05/2025 13:56

Messy but taste great! 😇

@alwaysscared I use Nutracheck as it is more British than MFP so much easier to find foods accurately. I ignore the exercise calories as I don't have a watch or tracker so it would be inaccurate anyway.
I know it adds them on to your daily allowance and, if I was burning a large amount I might use some but I tend to think of them as a safety buffer so just ignore them and think they will reduce the impact of any mismeasuring, etc.
I don't think there's a way to stop them adding on

I don't know what your mornings are like for time but I sometimes blitz a bit of cottage cheese with an egg and a drop of vanilla then make mini-pancakes as I don't like rice cakes much

I agree with @Zebracatthat you deserve credit for listening, learning and adapting. It's hard to challenge ourselves and make changes but you are really doing that

I've eaten too many in my excitement at actually making something and am now STUFFED! Don't think I'll be wanting any tea...!

I haven’t actually eaten any lunch as I don’t feel hungry at all, it is very hot and I have been gardening, having a cool drink in front of the fan

alwaysscared · 13/05/2025 15:53

@QueenOfHiraeth Im really liking the Nutracheck! I am ignoring the exercise calories too. That breakfast sounds good, I may give it a try, thanks

Cantwaituntiltheyareover · 13/05/2025 16:31

Busy bribing, sorry encouraging, DD through GCSESs.....I may have just slipped and had a mini biscoff mcflurry...but she had more so don't feel too bad...

CanIGoHomeNowPlease · 13/05/2025 19:07

I use nutracheck - definitely prefer it to MFP.

I do use an Apple Watch but try to stay at my set calories and use my exercise calories as my buffer. So far it’s working!

InfoSecInTheCity · 13/05/2025 19:13

@CanIGoHomeNowPlease I have an Apple Watch too and also don’t eat my exercise calories, mainly because I just can’t make it make sense. Why is it that I do a 30 minute exercise session that makes me feel like I need to just lay down and die because my every muscle has been beaten up and I can no longer breathe and that’s worth negative 10 calories but I do something that makes me feel energised and relaxed and like I could keep going for another round and thats worth eleventy million calories. Until I can figure out the formula and make it logic, I just can’t trust it!

QueenOfHiraeth · 13/05/2025 19:34

There's all sorts of clever stuff on there. If you enter your food into the diary you can see your calories for the day and if you tap the stripey circle thing in the top right it shows you the macros, so you can see how much protein, fat, etc in it. You can use "my meals" for recipes you make regularly and I also use the "progress" section to record my measurements

Arglefraster · 13/05/2025 19:34

I'm playing catch up but need to come & tell people who will understand- I managed to make a mistake somehow & now have a 2.5mg pen instead of the 5mg pen I thought I ordered.

ARRRRGGGGHHHH as expensive mistakes go this is definitely one 🫠

Arglefraster · 13/05/2025 19:40

I like nutracheck too -you can set it to ignore exercise calories 😃
Go to diary -> Diary Preferences -> Daily Totals -> Separate

those look really delicious @MooBaggage
