@Pepperwaggytail okay so the fatigue might hanh around after each dose. That's good to know so I can find a way to manage it the best I can.

So glad you're getting the results you were hoping for..I'm obviously still early days and just have this fear it's not going to work. I've tracked my calories the last 2 days and yesterday I was at just under 1500 which included a meal out and today I'm so far just under 1100. I don't imagine I'll have much more today. Both days have been 1 main meal. Struggling to get protein tho so going shopping tomorrow for some better options.

I read somewhere that if you forget a dose you can inject up to D3 beyond that you need to wait until the end of the week D7 and inject then.

Sounds right. If I was late with one, I would ring my provider though.

Fingerscrossed25 · 13/04/2025 22:27

I haven’t felt like I am unable to eat , what it has done is stop me snacking all day ! Need to decide whether to increase dose or stay at 2,5 ; I also have bruised when I have injected. A new week , hope it’s great for all.

HappyHugs · 13/04/2025 22:28

W1D2
So far no negatives to report at all.

Managed 1200cals each day with a decent balance to get protein in. Genuinely think I could have gone without food at all as haven’t felt hungry but I know that’s not wise or sustainable.

Slept very well last night and bursting with energy today - though tired now. Have been drinking lots of water.

Observations (in addition to those I made yesterday)

  • Sense of smell somewhat suppressed which I think contributes to the lack of interest in food
  • i have heard stomach rumbles but haven’t felt the hunger that would ordinarily accompany that sound
  • Feel jeans looser today which doesn’t even sound possible!

Ps - how soon do you all place your second order?

SusanSometimes · 13/04/2025 22:49

I did my W2 jab on Friday evening and just haven't fancied food at all since. I'm having to make myself eat, and I'm tired all the time. I'm forgetting to drink water, too. Must get myself together.

@HappyHugs
I imagine as soon as you inject yourself third time. It took over a week from ordering to receiving and I’m sure that’s what the pharmacy recommended

Or the 4th if you are planning to extract the 5th bonus dose.

NotsosunnyShropshire · 14/04/2025 06:33

Currently W1 D4. I lost 3.5kg in the first 36 hours.

I’m fully aware that this is fluid loss. My (c)ankles and feet aren’t swollen and my jawline is beginning to emerge. My painful joint that I am taking naproxen for is currently just niggling and I haven’t taken any pain relief all weekend. I am back at work today so that will almost definitely change but it’s still an unexpected bonus.

Out of curiosity I wondered what 3.5kg of water looked like. Apparently it’s 3.5 litres. That’s amazing (and scary) that I had so much excess fluid in my body. This fluid loss is despite my virtually doubling my daily fluid intake.

NovemberNovemberNovember · 14/04/2025 06:52

Hi, delighted to see I've lost 6lbs in week 1- and even though my belly is still far too big- it looks a bit better!
Will take my 2nd injection later today, and I can't wait.
I think it had pretty much worn off yesterday because I went well over my intended amount of Sunday lunch carbs, and I'd had brilliant will power all week up until then. But still, I'm delighted.

Thanks for new thread @QS90. And well done to all for your weight losses.

Did my week 1 weigh in this morning. I’ve lost 2.5lbs. A bit gutted really, I was hoping for more in the first week. I have been really focussed on eating well, no snacking and walking more.

I’m putting it down to having lost a stone before starting the injections last week, there was no water weight to lose. That’s what I’m telling myself anyway! 😀

Start weight- 16.0 stone ( January)
SW- 15.0 stone
CW- 14 st 11.5 lbs
TW- 12 stone

Exactly the same for me. I gave myself a head start by following a strict diet in the week leading up to my first jab. Lost 10lbs that way and only 2 or 3lbs in the first week of MJ.
I’m not complaining - it’s definitely worth it to get rid of the food noise!

Nice to see you all on this new thread and thank you @QS90 for setting it up!

Potato1234 · 14/04/2025 08:11

I’ve been reading about how MJ has a half life of five days, hence why people feel the effects much less on day 6 and 7. Apparently the 7 days is a marketing strategy because people find it easier to take once a week, but can be taken every 5 days. Just thought I’d share if people were wondering why it tails off at the end of the week

Ofcoursehesthefkingfarmer · 14/04/2025 08:24

W3D5 - I’ve been out a lot this weekend, a few social wines which MJ supression deffo isn’t extending to 😂 although unlike my pre MJ days, I’m not interested in the jazzy dips and food that go alongside.

back on it today, black coffee and some smoked fish for brekkie, Easter hols this week so we’re off to the seaside for the day. It’s so liberating to know that my diet wont be ruined by me succumbing to the smell of fish and chips which actually made me feel quite nauseous last week when DH brought some home. I’ve got myself a protein pack up and will get my steps in along the beach. Happy Monday!

Summerbay23 · 14/04/2025 08:33

Took my first dose last night so is this W1d1?

Had a really restless night sleep and feel pretty bad this morning. Very tired, lethargic, a bit nauseous. How long until I start to feel better? A couple of days or possibly the first two weeks? I don’t want anyone to think this is a negative though as I’ve been obese for 20 years so improving this is really beneficial.

I’m drinking lots of water and will try a small amount of breakfast soon and have to walk the dog but I’m glad I’ve got a couple of days off work. Any other tips for managing the side effects are very much appreciated.

Thanks x

Lostfirsttimebuyer · 14/04/2025 09:00

It has been over 3 days since I had my first jab now, and wow has the appetite suppression hit even more this morning - had to really force myself to eat a yoghurt. And after a few days of really feeling amazing, I am starting to feel absolutely knackered this morning when I walk and a bit so now sitting down. It feels like the kind of knackered you get when you haven't eat - and I think it is because I've barely eaten! So if I am at the peak now given that it is has been 72 hours, this must be the most I will feel like this and I imagine it will start to slowly wear off. I am very happy with this and if I feel how I felt this week every week I will be very pleased.
I have dared to hop on the scales midweek and they are certainly down a lot of pounds, but I will wait for the full week to officially weigh myself. I know it has only been 3 and a bit days for me, but if I feel this good level of appetite suppression, teetering on knackered with it but manageable, I think I will ask to stay on 2.5mg for another month, as I cannot imagine any further benefits from 5mg at the moment - would probs just make my side effects more intense!
We shall see over the next few weeks whether I can stay on 2.5 or whether I change my mind and want to go up to 5.

Dobbysdad · 14/04/2025 09:20

Morning all, really enjoying hearing your updates. I've also had restless sleep since I started, I'm hoping that'll pass soon! Day 3 today. I weigh every day, I need to for a sense of control. Saying I've lost 9lbs in 2 days. It's all water but feeling chuffed!

Hi @Summerbay23

Im only a week ahead of you but I felt exactly the same, nauseous and exhausted. However I found it is worst on jab day and the following day, then eases a lot for the rest of the week.

my friend who’s been on MJ for 6 months said the side effects pretty much vanished after a couple of months, so it’s not forever.

I found what really helps the nausea is understanding that it’s the new way of feeling hunger! So eat little and often, high protein but non fatty foods helped me like nuts or oatcakes, plus clear flavours like apples. Lots of water even though you’re not thirsty. Less caffeine and sugar also helps me.

for the fatigue I just allow myself to be kind to myself and take a nap and go to bed early! It’s only one day a week that I need to do that.

Hope these tips help, best of luck!

mHettyR · 14/04/2025 09:54

Hi, I think it’s a good idea to stay on the lowest effective dose for as long as possible. I had my first 2.5mg dose on Thursday last week (10/4/25) and have had good appetite suppression - I have felt hungry but the drive to eat is no longer irresistible and I feel in control of my eating for the first time in a long time. Have had no side effects except for waking with a slight headache early on mornings 2 and 3, no pain relief required and the headaches passed after an hour or so. Have been logging my food input on an app and calorie intake has been 941,1300,1395,1300 ( the weekend was always going to be tricky for me). I would normally eat 1700-2000 daily and a bit more at the weekend, so I am pleased. I have dropped 2.25lbs in 4 days. Will refocus now, appetite still under control. Next dose due on Thursday but wondering if I can manage until Friday….

How do people classify which day they’re on? So for me, I took my first dose on Saturday at 11am so was Saturday w1d1? Or would Sunday be considered day 1 and today day 2?

still no noticeable effect for me as of yet. Going to try and hold off on weighing until Saturday morning so it’s been a full week, though I usually weigh myself every few days.

If I was you I’d class Saturday as day 1, Friday day 7 as you inject again on the Saturday morning

fox919 · 14/04/2025 10:46

That makes the most sense to me thanks @Potato1234i think if I’d jabbed at night then Sunday would have counted as day 1 👍

SausageRoll90 · 14/04/2025 10:50

@fox919 I would agree with @Potato1234 that jab day was day 1 for you.

I took my 1st jab at 11.30pm Friday evening just before I went to bed so classed Saturday as D1... Hope that makes sense.

GreenSalon2 · 14/04/2025 10:53

I’m a few days post second injection. No weight loss in week 1 and not due to weigh again until Friday but I can now very much feel the suppression has kicked in and made me not crave my usual sugar fixes. Very interested to see what this week’s weigh in brings.

SausageRoll90 · 14/04/2025 11:05

W1D3 here. Woke up with zero appetite but also no thirst. Which is more challenging as I had an awful dehydration headache yesterday so I'm guna have to be mindful of that going forward.
I'm doing some menu planning and a good shop today to help me get some more protein into my diet. I think protein yogurts are going to me a firm favourite for a work day breakfast.

What do people have for breakfast?

Today I had a toaster crumpet (a rectangle one rather than round) with peanut butter and strawberries for 270cals and 9.5g protein.

ParsnipPuree · 14/04/2025 11:09

Why are people recommending collagen with the jabs do they make you lose collagen? I’m about to start for a month only to lose 6lb. Starting weight 8.9st goal 8.2st. Wondering what delightful side effects in store.
