Final dose of pen 1 was taken on Thursday night.
Holy moly, the suppression is nil at this point in the game 🤣
I’m relying on willpower alone, I think. Roll on 5mg.

Thanks to those of you who replied to my golden dose/pen pic post earlier x

Does anyone have type 2 diabetes that they disclosed when ordering and managed to get the jab? Most pharmacies reject patients with type 2 diabetes.

I was rejected by Asda but accepted by Juniper - not the cheapest but I took it.

MsJJones · 26/04/2025 23:15

Took DD shopping today and she requested TGIs for lunch - normally I’d be delighted but I couldn’t fancy anything on the menu. Ordered the Cobb salad and could only manage half.

I am still having sulphur burps for the first couple of days after the jab each time. Hoping it settles down eventually.

Tocktik · 27/04/2025 08:24

@MsJJones pepto bismol for the burps, when I’ve felt sick I’ve just had a small swig from the bottle and it’s helped, a friend who is very burpy rates it too.
(I am completely the other end, not smelly but just loud farts 😳)

Uninvitedleaf · 27/04/2025 09:07

W3D1 check in from me:

SW 13st 9.4
CW 13st 5.6 (W1 -2lb, W2 -1.8lb)
Total loss 3.8lb
GW 11stone

Anyone else aiming for slow and steady, how are you getting on with that?

I’m really happy overall. Minimal side effects, even had a meal out and a glass of wine this week. As long as it’s going in the right direction that’s good for me. Still unsure whether I’ll step up to 5mg, if it stays like this next week I may try another month on 2.5mg or may order the 5mg pen just in case. Where I’ve struggled with diets previously it’s been because I’ve felt like I am seriously depriving myself but not actually losing any weight, typically a couple of pounds water weight in the first week and then nothing for 2-3 weeks which is really disheartening and the worst of both worlds! So 1-2lb per week feels quite radical and like I am actually taking control of my eating in a non-extreme way. Will make a decision next Sunday I expect.

Beachbabes · 27/04/2025 09:46

W1 D2 for me, took first dose yesterday morning and don’t know if it was in my head but I defo didn’t want to eat as much, and Saturday night snacking was hugely reduced.

Today I feel really bloated and crampy and slight pains in my sides and back, could be time of month but at 51 I barely get them now and never know when they are coming. Feel nauseous and blah this morning.

Anyone else feel like this ?

I have a terrible habit of weighing myself daily! Bad idea as it can set the mood for the day but I am going to track weight daily for a little while to see the trend then maybe once per week. Thinking as my food take was low yesterday, I got on the scales after one day and I’m up 1.5lb!!

Today will tell a story as I have a family party and I am an AWFUL snacker at these things!

I'm losing slow right now too but I'm feeling frustrated with it. I weigh every few days and the last 3 weigh ins have been stagnant at 16st 4.5lbs which I'm finding hard to see as I'm still tracking calories etc. I'm 5lb down in total so far and currently on W3D2. I know it's early days still.

As I'm writing this, I am thinking about my week and I did have a higher calorie day the other day up to 2000cals as I had a work buffet and sweet cravings due to awful sleep with my toddler. I also went out for a gorgeous special meal on Friday night with my family which was definitely higher calorie (and worth every mouthful) then yesterday although my suppression was high and I only ate 1000cals they weren't the best /healthiest food choices... Hmmm maybe that has had more of an impact than I thought it would.

Plus my cycles has gone awol this month. I have PCOS so they're irregular at times anyway but I'm already on cycle day 24 and zero signs of ovulation (I'm very aware of my cycles from a family planning/prevention perspective) 🤷🏻‍♀️

slow and steady is fine with me. I’m 3.5 wks in and have lost 10lbs but I suspect a lot of that is water weight from the first week (I didn’t weigh for 2.5 wks as was on holiday). My ideal would be a steady 2lbs a week. I’m not counting calories as I get obsessed. just trying to eat three sensible high protein meals with no snacks which feels pretty achievable at the moment. I don’t want to lose too fast as when I did fast800 I had really bad hair loss so hoping things slow down from now on in.

I feel exactly like this today @Beachbabes. Really bloated and uncomfortable. Burping lots. I have also had three bouts of diarrhoea (sorry TMI). Disappointed as my first week was completely free of side effects! I’m W2D4.

Hope you feel better. Think I might delay my next dose a few days and reduce the dosage.

Uninvitedleaf · 27/04/2025 12:21

@SausageRoll90 I can understand the frustrations with not seeing it come off when you think you’re doing everything right! That’s exactly why so many of my previous attempts to lose weight have failed. I’m trying to see this as a way to change habits for life instead of a quick fix, that’s really helping me as I can be proud of the small wins e.g. I just had a salad not chips and actually enjoyed it - look at me with the healthy choices. Be even prouder of yourself for doing it with a little one around, think how much difference it will make to them to have a healthy mum when they’re older. You are almost on the same weight loss at the same time as me, we’re in a much better place than we were a few weeks ago!

@Incognitoburrito88 I’m aiming for achievable as well, and will be delighted with 1-2lbs a week as that should be sustainable without making me miserable. I am logging calories but being pretty gentle with myself. Am allowing 1600 per day but frequently I’m slightly below that as I just don’t need them. That does mean if I fancy something I can have it though - sensible eating not denial feels like the way forward.

I watched a video online the other day, discussing weight loss 'plateau' and they explained it as below (red dot is Fat and blue dot is water)

Start = 🔴🔴🔴🔴🔴 (Cell = 100% Fat / 0% Water)
Phase 1 = 🔵🔴🔴🔴🔴(Cell = 80% Fat / 20% Water)
Phase 2 = 🔵🔵🔴🔴🔴 (Cell = 60% Fat / 40% Water)
Phase 3 = 🔵🔵🔵🔴🔴 (Cell = 40% Fat / 60% Water)
Phase 4 = 🔵🔵🔵🔵🔴 (Cell = 20% Fat / 80% Water)
Phase 5 = 🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵 (Cell = 0% Fat / 100% Water)

Then when your body gets used to your healthier diet/lifestyle, it will eventually get rid of the water cell, resulting in weight loss. So it might not seem like you are losing weight for a week or two, but in the background your cells are becoming less 'fat' and more water, so will eventually result in weight loss.

Not sure how accurate / correct this is, but I guess it makes sense and I'm clinging on to this theory 😂😂😂

TheHappyBug · 28/04/2025 14:54

So much to catch up! I am on W2D7 and loss for this week is 3lbs which is 8lbs so far.

SeaDippingandLattes · 28/04/2025 18:05

Chuffed with weight loss this week
wk3 - down 2.5 or 3 pounds on my period. My scales are a bit broken and I also can’t read them unless I wear my prescription sunglasses (glasses broke) and take a photo on my phone… so I’ve told myself next week if I can get my specs fit and new scales and not be on my period I’ll be practically GAUNT 🥸

10 pounds lost in 3 weeks :) down to 15.5

Lundier · 28/04/2025 19:42

I don't mean to burst your bubble but that is not really how fat cells release energy. The vast majority (over 80%) of energy in fat is released as carbon monoxide. You breathe it out.

Water weight loss is from burning glycogen, which is mainly in your liver and muscles, not your fat cells.

Lundier · 28/04/2025 19:57

*dioxide! 😂

Ethela · 28/04/2025 21:35

I am on WK5D1 - just injected first 5mg.

I didnt go for the golden dose on 2.5 because I have been disappointed with progress so far despite a flying start (11lb in first 10 days) I havent lost a pound in the last 3 weeks despite IF and calorie deficit. Maybe its because I had a period last week (not had one for 8 years as post meno) as MJ has interfered with my HRT.

Clearly, this is your field. This is so interesting. Could you explain more about what happens in the body during weight loss - keeping the whole thing at the level of a GCSE?
