Have you been exercising? Or strength training? I know the scales never show it if I’ve done lots of exercise, I don’t know the science behind it though. A loss is a loss try not to be disheartened, well done

I think it is to do with water retention and the aches you get in your muscles after working out (DOMs) I did my first exercise group for a long time - a bootcamp - on Thursday and this morning along with sore muscles I had a 1.5kg gain over night but I know I have not gained that in fat overnight just normal fluctuations with everything taken into consideration

Wow thats good to know that that happens as that would have thrown me right off. I dont have the energy yet to exercise - hoping that will kick in soon.

It is interesting isn’t it but makes sense when you think about it as the painful muscles will have a bit of inflammation which brings along fluid!!

my sister made me do the exercise group as we are off to Las Vegas in early May so wanted to do some kind of exercise as well otherwise I wouldn’t have the energy either haha

TC4 · 12/04/2025 21:43

I think after having my 3rd jab last night I’m realising my side effects are bloating and an uncomfortable feeling in lower stomach and back the day or so after - I have been really busy the last couple of days and on the move non stop but i seem to remember these same feelings the last 2 times as well - and also the common one feeling cold at night

Lostfirsttimebuyer · 12/04/2025 20:58

I am at the end of my second full day after first injecting Thursday night. Really delighted with the appetite suppression. Am noticing that when I think maybe shall I get some food, it's because of "boredom", looking for something fun or wanting a break from what I am doing rather than feeling hungry, so it is easier to tell myself to go take that break by watching some tv or something without having the added pressure of actually being hungry like I would be normally.
I planned some meals that are low calorie but high protein for the coming weeks, and my shopping order arrived today. Went to make one of the meals for dinner (520 calories), and thought to myself, I cannot eat all that - so I made exactly half of it. I am nicely full right now after having had that dinner - that nice feeling where you are really satisfied - and how many calories was that dinner - 260 calories! I've probably never felt satisfied after 260 calories in my adult life! What a wonder this is.

Edited

It’s bizarre isn’t it. My injections weren’t causing suppression properly until today (day 7 of week 1). Took my niece out and got her and my husband a McDonald’s today, I wasn’t tempted to order anything for myself, I would at the very least get a small fries usually. Really strange. Then went to the beach and they both had ice creams but I just didn’t want one! My evening meal was around 450 and I genuinely struggled with the last third of it, so left a little bit. It’s now 10pm and have had no desire to snack. It’s not that I feel so stuffed that I couldn’t possibly eat (like at Christmas) but more of a content feeling. It’s so strange!!

TheDutchHouse · 12/04/2025 22:27

Pandimoanymum · 12/04/2025 19:24

I'm W1 D3 too. Don't think I've had any side affects apart from being a bit burpy, but tbh difficult to tell cos I get headaches and cold feet quite often anyway! I wasn't sure till today if I was having much suppression, it was more like just not fancying things as much as normal, rather than not being hungry at all, but today all I've had is a bowl of fruit n fibre cereal about 11 am and nothing else as yet, and still only getting a bit peckish now-so that's definitely suppression.
Edited cos forgot to add about the painkillers- I take paracetamol most days for a shoulder problem, if I miss a dose I'd really know about it. I only noticed when I read your post I havent had to take any since yesterday afternoon. How weird.

Edited

I wonder if there’s anything that’s been recorded before .

QS90 · 12/04/2025 22:35

@pandymoanymum Can I ask if your shoulder issue, is to do with inflammation? I've heard that certain diseases to do with inflammation (notably endometriosis), are improved by WLI, but there aren't enough good studies yet to prove it.

HappyHugs · 12/04/2025 22:58

So just for the benefit of keeping records. I had first jab at lunch time today, having just had a slice of toast for breakfast and nothing else. I found it to be simple and painless with a little bit of bruising appearing at injection site now (I am pale and bruise easily).

Other observations (which may be placebo effects!) :

  • reasonably hungry for my evening meal but much more quickly satisfied and could have done with less - but want to keep decent calorie intake
  • no craving whatsoever for a sugar treat after that meal - very unusual for me
  • cold feet this evening (nor unusual for me really)
  • active bowels - sorry TMI - but seems efficient rather than loose
  • Very very tired tonight and no particular reason I should be.
  • took a chocolate from my son and it did nothing for me - almost experience an after taste

Also the feeling in my stomach is hard to describe. Like someone else said, it’s not that I feel ‘full’, I just feel ‘content’. Very unusual.

I’m also watching discussions about joint pains with interest as I suffer and do think there may be anti inflammatory benefits..nothing to report on that front yet.

wordywitch · 13/04/2025 07:51

I had a not so great day yesterday. Didn’t feel any suppression at all and as I was suffering from pain and fatigue (I have a chronic health condition) and had a million things to do, I had a couple of sugary treats to keep me going, a chocolate bar and a large chocolate chip biscuit. I didn’t beat myself up too much thankfully, and when I stepped on the scales this morning expecting to see a small gain, I’d actually lost another 1.8kg from when I last weighed 4 days ago! So that’s at least made me feel better.

I’m going to be in the car a lot today as I’m going to collect a relative from the airport 1.5hrs away so am making some healthy snacks to take with me - boiled eggs, carrot sticks, and apple slices.

fox919 · 13/04/2025 08:10

Good morning all. Took my first dose yesterday at about 11am. Had a bit of a binge last night while watching something with dd :( very normal behaviour for me, but felt crappy about it. And have woken up hungry (don’t normally get hungry until about 10:30/11am most days) so that’s irritating and obviously not getting appetite suppression yet.. i know how people respond is so varied though, but feel like based on what I read on here, the people who seem to get the best results react quickly to the medicine so feeling worried I’m one of the people it’ll be less effective for.. how long has it taken others to feel suppression if at all?

I didn’t feel any suppression until yesterday, which was day 7 for me. You are supposed to be hungry, but when you eat you get fuller quicker. Try and have some breakfast and see how you feel. I was convinced it didn’t work for me but it hit me later on in the week which is so strange

Woahtherehoney · 13/04/2025 08:29

Hi all. Took my first dose last night - I read it’s better to take of a night so that you can sleep through any side effects. I woke up in the night with a bit of a headache but that could be totally separate as I get headaches often anyway.

Hoping to lose 5 stone - it’s not my first weight loss rodeo and I’m all over the place with my eating so hoping this just helps me focus on something else for a while rather than just thinking about food all the time 🤞🏻

fox919 · 13/04/2025 08:30

Thanks @Potato1234

it’s hard isn’t it, because I know it’s not magic and takes effort and time etc and want to feel patient and just trust the process. But I’ve started because I’ve felt so low about my self and my weight and am desperate to see the changes and feel better. I think for me the main appeal has been people talking about the food noise disappearing and I really hope that happens for me asap as that’s my greatest challenge for weight loss

hotshota · 13/04/2025 08:40

Having been through several cycles of losing weight, gaining it back and then losing it again. Being on the WLI helps with the food component definitely - the body complaining about food and cravings has always hampered me in the past. Now it is infinitely making it easier even though im still on 2.5

I wonder however, as most of everyone i suspect, what happens when i finish and get off it..will the new normal continue or will it creep up again. I hope i dont have to be on the jabs for the rest of life to be at a healthy weight :(

This is how I feel as well I really don’t want to be on them forever I’m thinking that by losing weight our habits will change too, our body’s will be different and I’m hoping il have the energy to do more exercise which will also become a habit 🤞🏻🤞🏻

TC4 · 13/04/2025 08:58

I’ve also realised that the lower stomach pain and back ache I had yesterday were because it was my period about to come (sorry for TMI) so may also have contributed to the slight gain in weight yesterday as well but i definitely had those symptoms on previous days following jabs as well but not as intense!!

so now to navigate my first period while on the injections and see how that goes so far today I’ve had a slight drop in weight again today but the pain in lower stomach and back is still constant but I’ve not taken pain relief yet, but needing to means I will have to have something to eat but I’m definitely not hungry!!

50FootWave · 13/04/2025 09:02

I've bottled it.

Sat looking at the pen, ready to inject, and I just couldn't do it.

I can't explain it, other than I've lost 5 pounds post holiday, probably due to all of the walking. But it's made me think that perhaps all is not lost, and I'll try upping my exercise.

£114 down the drain, of course, but I'll have to suck it up.

Wishing each and every one of you all the success, and thank you for being such a supportive group!

Have others had their weight go up from when they provided it to the supplier to when they received the drug? I know it’s probably fluid going up and down, but it’s still annoying. I was 95.4kg when I ordered it, 95.7 when I injected my first dose yesterday and 96kg this morning 😡 This is why I don’t usually weight myself as it just messes with my head!

I had this too. Although I weight in st&lb I was 16st 9lb ordering, 16st 9.7lb Friday morning (1st injection Friday just before bed) and 16st 10.1lb this morning after my 1st full day.. frustrating but also maybe just a bit of bloat from the injection? It is listed as a side effect so hopefully will settle as the week goes on 🤞🏻

@SausageRoll90 this is similar to me too. Took my second injection yesterday, did all the right things all day and am a pound heavier today!

W1 D2 - I felt fine after the injection yesterday morning, the only thing I've noticed is a persistent metallic taste.

I had a salad with quinoa and hummus for lunch yesterday and a single portion of stir fry for dinner, but that was it and I didn't feel hungry. I hope it's not just the metallic taste that's making me eat less!

NotsosunnyShropshire · 13/04/2025 09:52

My sense of taste for sweet things has changed, but so has my sense of smell?

Day 3, no dizziness this morning which is good as I get up really early for work in the week.

SausageRoll90 · 13/04/2025 09:54

W1D2 for me today and so far I've had some nausea/feeling a bit queasy which build as the meds went on yesterday. I was able to eat but just didn't fancy anything. I was meeting friends for lunch and it took me ages to decide what to eat as I just didn't fancy anything. Which was a very strange thing for me as I'm generally a foodie..
When I was due food i definitely had tummy rumbles so I knew I needed to eat but I didn't fancy/want anything.

Oh also I'm feeling very tired - slept like the dead the last 2 nights..don't know if that's a WLI thing it just a coincidence lol

TheDutchHouse · 13/04/2025 09:56

W1D4
still no suppression which is frustrating but I’ve been making very healthy choices, am off to a BBQ today and as I don’t like eating socially I know I’ll be able to eat sensible.
stupidly weighed myself this morning and no change at all.
