Have others had their weight go up from when they provided it to the supplier to when they received the drug? I know it’s probably fluid going up and down, but it’s still annoying. I was 95.4kg when I ordered it, 95.7 when I injected my first dose yesterday and 96kg this morning 😡 This is why I don’t usually weight myself as it just messes with my head!

Am I ok to join? I start on Monday x

Hi, i’m starting when mine arrives next week too

Musermum · 12/04/2025 13:35

Right... 1st jab done. Got my trainee nurse daughter to do it and bled a little afterwards.... Had to put a plaster on it. Hopefully no side effects.

HappyHugs · 12/04/2025 13:53

First jab done…no issues. Will record any symptoms. Headache before I started seems to have lifted.

Drinking water copiously in preparation for last few days.

SW - 12st 13 (181 lb) (82kg)
target - 10st 5 (145 lb) (66kg)

66babe · 12/04/2025 14:15

3rd jab done .. been to SW this AM and another 3lbs off .. that’s 7 in the 2 weeks
Still no side effects and feeling fine .

iamsoshocked · 12/04/2025 14:28

I had a Chinese takeaway last night and although I tried to not eat too much, I had a bad nights sleep and woken up feeling quite queasy and burpy today.

Dobbysdad · 12/04/2025 15:28

I've started today, pen arrived yesterday and first dose taken this morning
I used saxenda a couple of years ago and lost well on it, I've put some of the weight back on slowly over the last year or so. Not all of it but enough for me to feel frustrated! I ended up platauing on saxenda and then tried wegovy to shift some more but I ended up not sticking to doses properly and forgetting to take it etc. I'm using shemed so hopefully it'll give me some accountability too.
I've found lots on tiktok and some really incredible losses.
No side effects today, I had a lovely brunch of eggs on toast with avocado ( calorie heavy but it's been my only meal so far today)

Where are you all using to calculate your tdee?

QS90 · 12/04/2025 15:33

Lol just realised not only did I spell the title wrong, but also put the wrong year initially 😂🤦‍♀️ I panicked because I didn't want the last thread to get filled up, without a link being posted. Still though!

Place-marking.

I got my friend to take a full length photo for me today to help mark the start of my he journey.

fox919 · 12/04/2025 16:56

Joining the thread after following thread 1. Did my first jab today, nervous but hoping for good results 🤞

dialmformarzipan · 12/04/2025 17:30

I took my first dose this morning. After years of dieting misery this feels like the only option. I just hope any side effects are limited.

I'm 63 and SW - 107kg

FizzBe · 12/04/2025 17:33

SW 197.1 lbs
CW 190.9 lbs - 6.2 lbs

So due to jab today, but I'm still getting massive suppression.
Ideally I'd like to shift to maybe a Monday start since the week days are easier to handle side effects and nosy teenagers looking at my food consumption.
Any thoughts? Anyone pushed the dosage for 8 or 9 day intervals? Will I fall off a cliff tomorrow without topping up?

Ethela · 12/04/2025 18:03

I asked those users further down the line to say what the FAQs were on their threads and have had back the following which might be helpful to us at the start - here they are:

There are 5 doses in each pen, buy some syringes to get the 5th.

Staying on the lowest dose makes sense if it is giving you want you need, but buying the 5mg pen as your 2nd pen and taking 2.5mg if it works for you also makes sense so you have the flexibility. This is done by number of clicks.

Some providers push you to move up, you don't have to!

Track calories in the beginning to make sure you are eating enough and to get a base line for portion sizes.

Eat protein at every meal if you can

Drink water - work up to at least 2L

Weigh daily/weekly/monthly - doesn't matter which one you choose to do that suits you

Take measurements / recalculate your TDEE at the start of each pen

Vitamins - some do / some don't because they get enough through diet

Exercise is important to retain muscle. Walking is good and some strength training.

Ask your local pharmacy if you are struggling with constipation, D&V etc they can prescribe something

Hair loss is common with rapid weightloss

Some people lose slower than others, they are not doing anything wrong

Read the two patient leaflets! - it contains all the information you need for changing injection day, issues with oral contraception, how to store used/unused pens, what to do if you miss a dose etc

t's normal for suppression to wane at the end of the week, this is not a problem and doesn't need fixing.

It's normal for suppression to fluctuate and be lower or higher without seemingly any obvious cause. Don't panic, see how you go over a couple of weeks or so.

A weight loss plateau is not one week without losing weight, that is a normal fluctuation - weight loss is not linear.

Yes, it's easy to change pharmacy - you just fill out the new one's online form and say that you are already taking a WLI and provide evidence of that.

Track you calorie deficit over the week not the day. Its good to work with Mounjaro's changing suppression and fine to eat on days you are hungry. Read about calorie cycling.

If you have what appears to be a gain it might just be water weight from a salty/carby meal the day before, hormonal, need a 💩, you are dehdryated, you ate late, you exercised.
Don't panic or start saying you had a plateau which is at least 4 weeks at the same weight. It will probably go the following week/day.

Don't panic and go up a dose just because you have a couple of days with less suppression (there are only 6 doses to go up to). It might just be you are hungry because you didn't eat much the day before. See how it goes over a couple of weeks.

Hello , I would like to join the April thread , have lots to lose , seem to be losing 2lb a week . I am on week 3 of 2.5 .

If Monday injections make it easier, I’d push it forward. What’s the worst that could happen? You may be a bit hungrier. Surely you could control what you eat for two days. It’s not like when we’ve been looking into an abyss of hunger and unhappiness when on one of our many awful diets over the years. 💐

StrikeForever · 12/04/2025 19:04

@Ethela lovely summary 🙂
where can we buy needles to draw up the 5th dose?

SquishyGloopyBum · 12/04/2025 19:09

Oh yay, found you! Day 3 here and feeling great. Weekends are my weak point but I’m just not interested in food. It’s so weird but I’m loving it!!

StrikeForever · 12/04/2025 19:04

@Ethela lovely summary 🙂
where can we buy needles to draw up the 5th dose?

Copied this from the first thread:

You take:
Day 1- dose 1
Day 7- dose 2
Day 14- dose 3
Day 21- dose 4
Day 28 - bonus dose.

The pen has 240 clicks, so 4 x 60 clicks (60 clicks is one dose). When you have used all 240 clicks you will notice there is still a lot of medicine left in the pen (the bonus dose) but the pen no longer clicks. There are 2 ways to get this bonus dose out. 1) Do a hard click and break the pen (however, when I did this the plunger would not plunge) 2) Extract it with an insulin needle through the red rubber part. I have always done this.
There are youtube videos that explains and shows better what to do. I use these needles:
It should be a 1ml insulin syringe.

Hell yes, I've been to the diet abyess, bungee jumped and returned. I can do a couple of days. 😀

Stepfordian · 12/04/2025 19:14

I’m halfway through week 2, I weighed this morning and it’s saying I’ve lost 12lbs.

Does anyone switch around pharmacies for the best price? I’m with SheMed which is £159 whatever the dose, but I’ve seen some pharmacies selling it for £125 for 5mg, my only concern with switching is if I go to the higher doses then it will be more expensive than SheMed, but if they keep me on the lower doses then I’m paying more than I need to?

I've chosen shemed because of the weekly checkins, this will give me the accountability I need rather than trying to stretch days out or change clicks which led me off track before.

W1 D3
still no adverse effects or suppression.
however the strange thing is I have to take prescription medication for pain relief daily or I’m in agony, often having to top up overnight.
But I realised that the past two nights I haven’t topped up and yesterday i missed taking the lunchtime tablets which get me through the afternoon.

I'm W1 D3 too. Don't think I've had any side affects apart from being a bit burpy, but tbh difficult to tell cos I get headaches and cold feet quite often anyway! I wasn't sure till today if I was having much suppression, it was more like just not fancying things as much as normal, rather than not being hungry at all, but today all I've had is a bowl of fruit n fibre cereal about 11 am and nothing else as yet, and still only getting a bit peckish now-so that's definitely suppression.
Edited cos forgot to add about the painkillers- I take paracetamol most days for a shoulder problem, if I miss a dose I'd really know about it. I only noticed when I read your post I havent had to take any since yesterday afternoon. How weird.

Choc89LoveMe · 12/04/2025 20:34

Hi everyone, I’m starting next week. I’m a bit nervous tbh of the side effects but really want to lose weight. Currently 122kg.

SquishyQuokka · 12/04/2025 20:43

I’m on 3rd day (or 2nd full day) since my first dose of 2.5mg and I most definitely have appetite suppression. Can’t quite finish a small plate of food, which is kind of weird. I am worrying I won’t end up eating enough - I guess it’s just eating the right things when I do eat! Feeling a bit tired and headachy, but it’s been a busy day. So will get some water in me and get myself to be bed for an early night!!

Lostfirsttimebuyer · 12/04/2025 20:58

I am at the end of my second full day after first injecting Thursday night. Really delighted with the appetite suppression. Am noticing that when I think maybe shall I get some food, it's because of "boredom", looking for something fun or wanting a break from what I am doing rather than feeling hungry, so it is easier to tell myself to go take that break by watching some tv or something without having the added pressure of actually being hungry like I would be normally.
I planned some meals that are low calorie but high protein for the coming weeks, and my shopping order arrived today. Went to make one of the meals for dinner (520 calories), and thought to myself, I cannot eat all that - so I made exactly half of it. I am nicely full right now after having had that dinner - that nice feeling where you are really satisfied - and how many calories was that dinner - 260 calories! I've probably never felt satisfied after 260 calories in my adult life! What a wonder this is.
