Mounjaro? Is it worth it?

I’ve been thinking of giving Mounjaro a go, have done a lot of research and not sure who to go with? Any recommendations?

The medication is the same wherever you get it from. So I’d be mainly guided by price, assuming you don’t want lots of additional support/coaching or a subscription model.

There is a price comparison website:

https://monj.co.uk/mounjaro-price-comparison-by-monj/

You can sort by price, you’d be looking at the 2.5mg column as the starting dose. You can change supplier, each order if you like, in order to take advantage of referral or new customer discounts.

All the pharmacies on the comparison site are regulated and registered with the GPhC.

I’ve used Asda, who are now too expensive for me but I had no problem with them. I’m currently using Zava, again with no issue. Plenty of others though.

TheFunkyDuckling · 08/04/2025 20:20

Try monj.co.uk for a price comparison.
Depends if you're happy to do it almost on your own, or via a subscription service like voy, shemed etc who will provide extra support also.

Good luck with your journey through!!!

SevernWonders · 08/04/2025 21:07

Is it worth it? Hell yeah, I would sell everything I own to be able to buy this stuff, it is life changing. Good luck.

kissmyfatass · 08/04/2025 21:25

Worth every penny.
I use Simple pharmacy
Id sell my kids to afford it

Walkingwithdinosaurs · 08/04/2025 21:31

Yep totally worth it… I’ve lost over 4 stone in a few months.

However, be warned the side effects can be terrible. I am on my last pen and currently I boke/heave at absolutely everything. I mean, smells, drinking tea, taking tablets, brushing my teeth etc hence this being my last one, I can’t cope with it.

Would I do it all again… 100%

TheChosenTwo · 08/04/2025 21:42

Well worth it for me, lost a hefty amount of weight and helped get my health back under control.
I have insulin resistant PCOS and previous efforts to shift the pounds have not been fruitful.
Ive always been with Oushk, not the cheapest (I don’t know, maybe they are but I don’t shop around, I went with them because they allow me to choose my delivery day), I’ve stuck with them throughout. I’ve not needed any additional support so I don’t know what else they offer but I’ve been happy with the service that I needed and have used for the past 6 months.

IHateMozzies · 09/04/2025 00:54

Yes definitely! I could never have listened to weight without it!

I’ve been with Superdrug, Medexpress and Iq Doctor, all similar service level, all good.

If you would like a discount code for Medexpress, PM me.

TheBuffetInspector · 09/04/2025 01:16

19lbs on 9 weeks and I've given up smoking.

Be aware of the med express touters. There is an official place to post discount codes. They get £40 off, you get £40 off. There have been numerous complaints about med express recently.

I'm on 7.5 but I think I'll change supplier next month. I've got 2 stone to go but want to think about maintenance - and cost!

APurpleturtle · 09/04/2025 04:03

Wow, thank you everyone. Really helpful! Think I’ll do what most of you seem to have done and go with the most cost effective, I’ve been sent a link for Numan with a big discount so think that will be my first stop and take it from there 😊. Looking forward to finally having some control of my weight!

I started at the end of October and I’m at target weight now almost 4stone down. I found the first month or so rough.. but then it settled down and I’ve seen the weight drop month on month. It’s changed my life, menopausal 50’s woman who resigned herself to the fact she’d never shift the weight and feeling very uncomfortable in all her clothes is now bursting with confidence looking forward to the summer feeling great! I was with medexpress throughout and found them very good.

IsItSnowing · 09/04/2025 08:40

Definitely worth it. I'm 47lbs down since October. More importantly, I've never stuck to a diet this long before ever.

SilenceInside · 09/04/2025 08:45

@APurpleturtle Numan are super expensive without a discount, so watch out for that as they are a subscription based service.

Zempy · 09/04/2025 08:55

Definitely worth it. I have lost two and a half stone since January.

You need to consider the net cost as you will spend so much less on food. If you drink alcohol you may find you go right off it, another saving.

Maye88 · 09/04/2025 09:25

100% worth it. Best decision I've made for myself. 48lbs down since mid December 😊

There are loads of great pharmacies out there
Check out monj.co.uk
If you want to save money this site will tell you who charges what and any 1st time offers etc 😊
Really easy to move pharmacies also to get the best deals

Pandimoanymum · 09/04/2025 14:59

Hi, I'm just about to start in the next day or so. I had my video consultation yesterday, very thorough, and everything arrived today. I looked at the monj.co.uk website, took account of all the prices with and without offers. Plus the trust ratings & reviews.
In the end I got mine from Medicine Marketplace because their standard prices were lower across most of the dosages than most of the others, even if you factored in the others having discounts. I don't see the point in getting your first month really cheap with a code, if the next few months you're paying perhaps £50/60/whatever more than somewhere else.

Medicine Marketplace had good reviews as well, so seemed as good as anywhere.
A little bit apprehensive about possible side effects though, but nothing ventured I guess!

Do you have to go through the whole questionnaire, provide ID, video of you getting on scales and video consultation again though, if you swap pharmacy? Like starting from scratch?

Maye88 · 09/04/2025 15:09

@Pandimoanymum I had to answer the consultation form again and provide photos and proof of previous prescription.

I started with medexpress then went with we percribe phpharmacy. I got approved same day and had pen 2 days later.
Then onto IQ doctor. IQ doctor offered next day delivery so very fast

Fatmumslim01 · 09/04/2025 17:02

Definitely worth it. After a lifetime of trying and failing at "dieting" I've lost 8 pound in 2.5 weeks on MJ! All the food noise in my head has gone, I'm calmer in general, feel like this may finally be the final time I have to try to lose weight!

I pay £180 a month but there are cheaper places, it's an investment in my health and I'm lucky to be able to afford it

TheRoundTable1983 · 09/04/2025 17:14

It is brilliant, but sadly I lost more hair than weight, so I stopped!

Oh gosh. Is that a side effect?

ShaunaSadeki · 10/04/2025 21:26

Go with Numan for your first month, then for your second select that you would like to cancel your subscription then they will give you another massive discount, then for month 3 just pause or cancel your Numan subscription and shop around. I merely paused mine as never got round to getting in touch with customer service to cancel and it has remained paused without them charging me for months

autumn1610 · 10/04/2025 21:30

I’m going to be a bit inbetween…I’m on pen 3 and only 10lbs down 7.5mg was the only one that seems to have given me any slight side effects. I mean I’ve been struggling to even loose 10lbs without it but I was hoping to be a bit further along with the weight loss. I’m giving it a one more pen I think. I am about to dip into overweight rather than obese (I have less to loose than others about 1.5st to go to my first target)

SilenceInside · 10/04/2025 21:33

@PinataHeeHaw hair loss can happen with any weight loss, its not specific to the medication itself. It’s called telogen effluvium and it usually self resolves after 3 to 6 months. Which is exactly what happened with me. Temporary hair shedding is not a side effect that would interfere with my very necessary weight loss.

Wowzel · 10/04/2025 21:34

I've lost 10kg since the start of January, which is amazing. Barely any side effects now

Travsmam · 10/04/2025 21:52

I’ve lost 6 stone since last May. I go through MedExpress. They’ve been brilliant o
