I’ve been thinking of giving Mounjaro a go, have done a lot of research and not sure who to go with? Any recommendations?

It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself no question.

I've lost quite a lot of hair now too, I really hope it grows back.

Mine is growing back now but I was shocked by it at first tbh.

Think I’ve spent more trying to fix the hair loss than I did on the Mounjaro! 😂

can u guarantee no hair Loss? can you guarantee no sickly side effects?

I’ve lost loads of hair (but had very thick hair to begin with, hairdresser commented that it’s not as thick all over but no actual spots anywhere that are notably thinning.
however it’s been coming out at quite an alarming rate for a few months, I think this week it’s possibly slowing down a little but can’t be 100% sure) but had zero nausea.
Coldness has been my most annoying symptom but my electric blanket has been my saviour, I’m under it now, my bedroom thermostat is reading at 23 degrees, dh has the windows all open and the fan on pointed at just him but I’m still chilly!

Thats brilliant. Well done. How are you feeling? I feel so much better without the weight mentally and physically. Funny enough I’ve got a weight vest that I walk in that’s 6kg. It’s so heavy it’s a struggle to get it on. I can’t believe I’ve lost 3 of them. I genuinely couldn’t lift that much weight.

CoolLimeSheep · 07/06/2025 22:11

I feel so much better mentally and physically too. I couldn't walk even to the shop with my weight and pain last year and now managed go up snowdon. Not pre diebetic anymore so had so many benefits. I didn't really start wanting to be healthy bmi just wanted to be healthy and active but now feel like I can achieve it. Took me a long time see difference in size. Im glad you feel better too that's awesome you carry a 6kg vest when you walk.

It’s been a total game changer for me!
I’m on week 10 and currently 25lbs down!
Ive struggled with my weight for about 20 years and in the last 4-5 years managed to lose 4-5lbs only to put it all back on and more!

this has totally changed my mind set and my feelings for food and I’m actually enjoying exercising too x

Has anyone lost weight by staying on the 2.5 dose. I need to lose another 2 stone. xxx

I have seen many posts on here from posters who did their whole journey on 2.5mg. Many people need to go higher, but there are definitely a group who do it all on the lowest dose as they respond so well 👍

ThePinkPoster · 21/09/2025 11:22

Worth every single penny. I lost 4 stone. I feel like I’ve got “me” back.

Rockdaylia44 · 22/09/2025 18:06

Didn't lose anything in 3 months wasted money

Moll2020 · 22/09/2025 18:41

Definitely yes. I’ve lost 2 stone 3lbs since July 18th. Was ok on 2.5mg but now on 5mg and a couple of side effects, nothing I can’t handle. Try SheMed, I think they’re really good. Good luck.

I lost 1st 9lb on 2.5 mg without much effort, and then moved up a dose as I'd only lost one kilo in 5 weeks. That was when basically using it as an appetite suppressant and not really denying myself anything I wanted. Could probably have got 2 stone off on 2.5 had I approached it more methodically.

Agree with the PP, there's a cohort of people who lose well on 2.5. If you're eligible and have the cash, it's worth a go.

Walkingwithdinosaurs · 08/04/2025 21:31

Yep totally worth it… I’ve lost over 4 stone in a few months.

However, be warned the side effects can be terrible. I am on my last pen and currently I boke/heave at absolutely everything. I mean, smells, drinking tea, taking tablets, brushing my teeth etc hence this being my last one, I can’t cope with it.

Would I do it all again… 100%

What dose are you taking?

if you’re higher than 2.5, maybe worth getting a lower dose x

BrendaSmall · 22/09/2025 19:43

Yes it’s definitely worth it!
I’ve lost 4.5 stone since February and I’m using 12.5 , I’ve got a couple more pens to use and then I’ll think about going up to 15

I’m starting soon. After lots of prevarication I have decided I have to do this. My health is a mess and I just can’t do it alone.

Hi, well it worked for me, I lost just over 3 stone but still need to lose another 3. Unfortunately, Mounjaro has caused gastritis & gall stones which is weird as I've had Gallbladder removed years ago.
I have researched this as I was hoping the Gastro Consultant was wrong, but he right. So, after 6 months I'm having to come off Mounjaro. I'm really pleased I lost the weight but the pain I'm in waiting for more scans it doesn't feel worth it.

Allseeingallknowing · 10/12/2025 17:50

I already have thin hair, so I can’t risk it.

SilenceInside · 10/12/2025 17:58

Hair loss, if it happens, is normally temporary. And it can happen via any weight loss method. I had some hair loss, it’s fine now and I’ve also lost over 10st.

BoxingHares22 · 10/12/2025 21:29

I’ve just got my first one. No instructions . Could someone give me an idiots guide?

SilenceInside · 10/12/2025 21:31

@BoxingHares22 there will be two folded paper instruction/information leaflets in the actual medication box with the pen. I would find those and read them both, they should answer most of your questions.

In April I had very thin hair and was a tight size 18. I now have very thin hair and am a loose size 12. The impact on every aspect of my health and life has been huge and my hair is no worse … I was willing to risk it. There are amazing not too expensive wigs available these days.

Thats amazing. I was 22 stone now I'm 18 stone. I started May 12th & stayed on 2.5. When I raised the dose to 5 it was then I started getting pains so I went back to 2.5. But following a routine gastroscopy for my Hiatus hernia they found Gastritis so my GP advised I atop buying Mounjaro. They also found multiple stomach polyps probably caused by 17 years of Lansoprazole even so the report sent yo my GP stated what was going & advice was continue with Lansoprazole & Gaviscon if needed. Since then I'm suffering dreadful stomach pains hence GP advised to stop Mounjaro which I wanted to stay on till I lost another 3 stone. 😪
