Mounjaro April 2025 Starters

1000 replies

OpheliaABC · 26/03/2025 19:28

Anyone else starting soon/in April? I've seen there has been lots of threads for new starters for the previous months which looked helpful so I'm starting one too.

Starting weight: 98kg
Goal weight: 75kg

I will be starting either at the end of this week or early next.

I have a huge appetite, lots of cravings for junk food, and I'm hoping to get my portion sizes under control. Three members in my immediate family have now been diagnosed with diabetes and I'd rather not join them.

I'm having full blood work done in a few days to make sure I don't have deficiencies, thyroid problems or overly high blood glucose levels. Trying to give myself a full health MOT but I love my food so it won't be an easy ride. I can only hope this works for me and that my portion sizes will be halved without going hungry as I've seen happen to some people.

Welcome, if you are joining me! 😊

I’m due my second jab tomorrow and been so nauseous today and vomited. Unsure if this is hormonal as I have cyclical nausea, I’ve had to take Cyclizine to stop the vomiting. Went out for a pub lunch for my wedding anniversary and didn’t manage a crumb, I hate wasting food and money. Wonder why it’s been so bad today when I’m day 6!

Minuethippo · 11/04/2025 16:32

@Potato1234 oh no that sounds horrible. Hope you feel better soon and hopefully nothing to do with jab!

Thank you! I hope not as it would be strange. My husband is a human hoover so thankfully not too much food wasted!

TheFunkyDuckling · 11/04/2025 16:36

Sorry you're feeling lousy @Potato1234
I hope it's not the injections.
I'm starting week 2 tomorrow too!!
Fingers crossed you feel better soon x x x

Discount codes are meant to go in the Promo Codes section only or they will delete the messages, just FYI. Or you can PM them.

GRCP · 11/04/2025 16:59

@StrikeForeverthey’ve already taken payment or I would. It’s from ASDA pharmacy. It’s only been just over 24 hours but I was hoping it would be approved by now!

TheDutchHouse · 11/04/2025 17:00

Am I weird in thinking that I should be feeling something.. it’s 20 hours since I had my first injection.
I feel normal , as normal goes lol
Im concerned I didn’t do the jab correctly!

GRCP · 11/04/2025 17:07

I’ve messaged them as it says they review all orders within 24 hours but aim for 6…

StrikeForever · 11/04/2025 17:09

I DID IT! 16.40 today. There seemed to be a lot of steps and (probably like most people), I was a bit worried about getting one of them wrong and messing up my first injection. In the end though (as those of you who have done it will know) it’s really straightforward 😀

TheFunkyDuckling · 11/04/2025 17:11

@TheDutchHouse
I felt totally normal after mine.
I only really noticed it working in the coming days when I realised I wasn't raising cupboards for snacks etc.
I'm sure you've done everything correctly.
Don't panic!!
Everyone reacts differently too.
But I remember being on edge that I was going to feel totally different / ill.
Hope you do notice some reduction in food noise / appetite suppression, but if not, don't panic x x x

Ha ha! I know the feeling.
My gut slowed down a few days in, so i bought some senna in readiness for full on constipation.
Got home, and needless to day, I didn't need the senna!!
I'm Day 7 today, injection day tomorrow and I'm still second questioning every little rumble, feeling, wave that comes over me.

Well done!!! I was the same and afterwards it just felt so simple.

Kaylazoey · 11/04/2025 17:47

Anyone else feel tiredness after their first dose? Took yesterday, am quite conked out today. Energy levels keep going up and down, it’s quite weird. Was also recovering from a cold so not sure if it’s that or the jab..

Hi folks. I’m on holiday in Morocco. I cannot tell you what it means to have a holiday without food noise inside my head. Truly a first and it is so liberating.

This is really helpful to know as it was one of my concerns with the jab. Enjoy your holiday!

Me!!
Took my dose Saturday, and Monday i was useless.
But I was fine next day.
Hope you feel better soon x x x

Schoolsec · 11/04/2025 17:50

@TheFunkyDuckling

Me too and I haven’t even started yet! This week I have been really tired, felt nauseous and had a bad headache! Remembering these symptoms so that I can’t blame the jab when I do it next week. Mind feels like it is playing tricks on me 🤔

@GRCP I’ve just checked my emails - I submitted photos to Asda at 8am on Monday 31st march and didn’t get approved until 10am on Wednesday 2nd of April so don’t give up hope - they do seem to be slow.

NewJoolz · 11/04/2025 19:53

I’d love to join you all here if that’s ok please?

I did my first jab last Sunday (6th) after months and months of research and procrastination, before having a ‘now or
never’ moment and ordering Saturday 5th, and so far so good! No SE’s to speak of, and apart from feeling a little bit of sugar cravings tonight (day 5), the lack of food noise is an absolute revelation! It’s a lot to get my head round after decades of over eating, yo-yo dieting, and food occupying my every thought and action, but it feels amazing to have my food switch turned off!! Just hope the scales are down on my first weigh in!!

I ordered from MedExpress, and had my pen within 24 hours!! I have a £40 discount code if anyone would like to use it. Please feel free to PM me if you’d like the code (for transparency, I will also get a credit)

SW - 14st 11lbs
GW - 11st (ish!)

Week 1 done!
Just done my 2nd dose & weigh in this morning

SW 15st 10lbs
CW 15st

Cant believe I had a 10lb loss 😱
I know it’s water and imagine I won’t lose anything 2nd week.
I will really try and get extra protein in this week and start on doing some weight exercises
Worried that some is also muscle loss and I also worry about hair loss with rapid weight loss as well, so will really be hoping for slow & steady going forward.

Think I need to start taking collagen. Any recommendations?

Having had some pretty artificial tasting sweet shakes in the past, I've discovered you can get unflavoured collagen. I really like it, because you can add it to anything slightly liquidy, and you can't taste it at all. Neither does it have any discernable texture. I've scooped it into soups, baked beans, coffee... I don't often have smoothies, but seems like a popular way people have it too.

Edited to say congrats on your progress so far!!

hotshota · 11/04/2025 20:40

Just joining the thread

this is W2D3 for me and what a difference from week 1 for me!

First week - hardly could eat anything - any little bit of food I ate I instantly felt “too full”. Also had SE of cold hands and feet and bloated and air “stuck in the chest”. Lots of burping due to the bloat and excess air.

second week so far. The SE has quietened down. Cold hands and feet still. Less bloating and burping - so I’m taking it as the body slowly getting used to it

interestingly enough - I find appetite coming back, body telling me I’m more hungry, thinking about what to eat to satisfy the hunger. and I’m able to eat more food than the first week. The first week where I could miss meals and be ok. What is strange that the first week the fullness came very quickly but now so far it’s only say after 15-20mins

so unsure what that means / what is normal and whether last week was just more side effects causing a different experience.

I think I’ll move up to 5 after the next two weeks though and see how that goes

Zireael · 11/04/2025 20:52

Hello, I’d like to join please.

I am 5’8” and weight almost 18 stone; BMI is 38.1. I’m actually disgusted at myself.

I have just ordered my first pen from Pharmacy2U
(wanted to pick a company I recognised).

screamingsiblings · 11/04/2025 21:32

W2D2
A very strange thing happened today….
We were in the park and saw a Mr Whippy van. I just fancied one, and as I lost 6lbs in the first week, we joined the queue. Then, when I saw the ice creams of the people in front, I actually said out loud "wow that's massive. I wonder if they'll do me a half size?" It was only a normal size 99 ice cream, but it just looked way too much for me!!!!! (they did do my a tiny one for half price and I didn't have the flake, and I was really happy with that.)
