Yeah, I've only had one 5mg jab, but my plan was to try to get 2months on 5mg and IQdr are telling me it's time to order next pen, so I'll order after next jab on monday

@OntheTrainX and @Hangryfastjo 👋 I’ve felt really good so far in the 1st 5mg dose, I took someone advise and jabbed under my bingo wing, fingers crossed that so far I’ve not had any side effects and the food noise has completely disappeared.
how are you all getting on?

Ugh I've had such a shitty day, sleeping like crap, major work stress argh and am now having to travel back home which takes about 4 hours (work in London and am in the office three days a week, then travel back home). I've eaten so, SO much rubbish and then caved and got some premix G&Ts for the coach. So disappointed in myself after being so good with food/no drinking these past few weeks - before starting MJ I'd always have crappy snacks and usually some kind of alcohol on the 4 hr commute so this feels like a massive step back 😔

Am jabbing tomorrow and hoping this is just a one off blip! Back on the yoga/gym/healthy eating tomorrow 😬

WelshRarebit18 · 20/03/2025 19:22

So it’s my second week on 5mg and I’ve really been struggling with indigestion, nausea and bloating. I’m wondering if it’s just the build-up of the drug in my system as I felt similar on weeks two and three of 2.5mg. Really hoping it passes soon. Weigh day and jab day tomorrow! Hope everyone’s doing ok.

Aw give yourself a break, don’t be so hard on yourself. Sorry you’ve had a crap day 💐

Give yourself some leeway. As you say, a stressful day. Tomorrow will be different.

Going up to 5mg this weekend and weirdly even though it's Thursday I'm not that hungry! Cakes in the office today and I wasn't even really tempted either. Starting to doubt whether it's actually worth going up to 5mg given the horrible side effects everyone seems to have. Supposed to be on Saturday morning, debating doing it a day early, also wondering whether to do the 3.75mg thing instead. I can't decide!

I'm reading a lot of people being quite frustrated by slow losses and notice quite a few seem to be on 1200 calories which always strikes me as very low (too low) for overweight people, I'm not convinced a large body can be properly fuelled on that. The last time I made serious attempt to lose weight (successfully at the time) I learned quite quickly that it was miserable to be that restrictive and I lost more if I ate more and moved more. I'm applying that this time too and staying around 1500 calories (it is a struggle some days to get up to that I admit) but I feel it works.

CallIpswichNow · 20/03/2025 20:17

The thread moves so fast! I know I’m missing loads but glad to be here, thanks for starting thread 4.

Did my fourth 2.5 injection today. I’ve not lost masses but I have also still had no side effects, even on the one night when I was afraid I had eaten too much.

TheYouYouAre · 20/03/2025 20:23

Anyone else getting a really dry mouth on Mounjaro?

Anyone else getting a really dry mouth on Mounjaro?

Yes, incredibly dry and also waking up with really chapped lips during the night. I'm drinking water with soluble hydration tablets during the day and actually plastering my lips in compeed patches at night to keep them moisturised 😭

SpiralSister · 20/03/2025 20:35

Just popping by to say that I’m on my second week of 5mg and other than mild constipation the first week, and the coldness everyone seems to have, I don’t have any side effects. I feel really well and losing nicely, but not insanely. So it’s not inevitable that 5mg will make you suffer.

I’m not sure if I’ll go up to 7.5mg next. I’ve got another week to decide really.

sc0ttishlass · 20/03/2025 21:20

Hi all also popping on to say week 2 of 5mg, and after feeling horrendous on first week of it I'm fine. I woukd say I feel more nauseous but as soon as I eat something I'm fine. Still having 3 small meals and maybe a protein yoghurt. I felt horrendous last week and could hardly work so really reassuring this week!
Another nsv and this is ridiculous, but I'm finding putting socks on or off so much easier!!!

Hello, I've been following the thread for a little while, reading everyone's updates because I'm seriously considering starting on MJ.

I'm 5"8 - currently weigh almost 15stone (BMI 31) and I'm early 40s. I'm eligible on medexpress and I've also completed the second nature questionnaire and considering going with them to start. I'm almost ready to hit pay now!

I've got quite a lot of questions thougu and I was hoping people who are on it could give some real life views - there mostly loo type questions 😂

  1. a common side effect is diarrhea - is that, really bad - cannot leave them house, need time off work type? Or is it the - not ideal but it's not going to stop me type?

  2. when people talk about nausea is that feeling sick or being sick? How bad is it? Are we talking need to go back to bed, or vaguely annoying?

  3. the MJ headache - can it be cured with a few painkillers or will it put me on my arse in bed?

  4. when are the side effects worse? Can I time a dose to give myself a few days to get over the worse before I'm due in work?

(I work full time but I'm 3 days in the office each week and I have a very long commute hence the questions)

  1. constipation - I don't really get this but I did during pregnancy and it absolutely crippled me. The type I had was where I had take stool softners - so was probably slightly dehydrated. I didn't have the type that required laxatives. It was horrendous though so I'd want to be prepared for that!

  2. has anyone had low blood sugars on it? Again I got that in pregnancy - they would drop dangerously low to the point where the first few times it happened, I couldn't help myself. Once I received help and support and had a diabetes machine I could track and monitor it and knew when to eat. It all resolved when I had my baby, but knowing I could potentially be prone to it makes me nervous. Doctor have given me diabetes test since pregnancy and told me my blood sugars are fine now. So I just wondered if this was a side effect for anyone and how you managed.

Thank you!

MJSpideySenses · 21/03/2025 05:03

Morning all, I've been awake since 3am with a horrendous cold. I've had such a busy week at work too, so ready for the weekend!

I've just weighed in. After only losing 0.6lb last week, I've lost 4lb this week! 5mg has been a strange one for me. I've decided to stick with it for the next pen. Side effects are minimal and it's clearly working so far.

@Kate240 it varies for everyone, you can read through threads to get an idea of how people are doing. Mine has been manageable throughout but I know some haven't been quite so lucky.

Morning!

Week 6 weigh in: -1.5kg / 3.7lbs
Total loss: 10.5kg / 23.1lbs
Took my week 7 jab last night!
Debating whether to stay on 2.5mg again for a 3rd month as it's working for me!

I set myself my first mini goal of 20kg - because that would take me to my pre pregnancy weight. And I'm over half way there in 6 weeks!! I'm so chuffed with this!

Will still have a long journey after that as I have a lot to lose!

Foreverhope1 · 21/03/2025 06:53

Hello Lovelies,

First time poster on weight loss threads, been struggling with my weight for a few years now. Combination of perimenopause & knackered knee, has hindered my attempts to tackle the mental work required to get started.

Well im glad to share, started on 21st Feb, SW 13.2, CW 11.12 with a target goal weight of 10 stone. I’m a shorty, so any extra weight really shows, plus I carry it all over, so there’s no hiding it!

much like the others, I’m a little away from a wardrobe overhaul, but just being able not have to squeeze in to my current sizes is a relief.

good luck to you all, thank you for sharing your journeys.

sc0ttishlass · 21/03/2025 07:09

Morning all
@Kate240 just FYI as pp said it varies for everyone but for me, I've found feelings of nausea bearable, just annoying. Not actually been sick. However a friend who is on this had a a work lunch and age some pizza and felt sick straight away, and was.
I've found if you drink the at least 2 litres of water it helps avoid headache. Again, I got one bad one on first 5mg and just stared at work screen all day...
For me I've found side effects minimal amd would say this for me mounjaro has been life changing and I woukd take again in a heart beat.
I started with second nature as I was nervous and liked the support. I did 2 pens with them, then moved to med express as I wasn't really using the 2nd nature coach.
Good luck.

Just a different take on moving up, i had unpleasant side effects weeks 1 and 2 on 2.5mg (sulphur burps, heartburn, nausea and constipation) and was worried about going up to 5mg. I needn't have worried, i have zero side effects other than a bit of constipation. I feel like I have a normal appetite but don't want sweet or fatty foods which is great. I also can't tolerate alcohol which is not a bad thing either. Im consistent in my weight loss, not too much each week but enough to keep me motivation.
I took week 3 yesterday and will be ordering 7.5mg next week in line with the recommendations.
Hope that helps to give a different perspective.
