Good luck over the next few weeks. Loving all the ongoing support and encouragement.

@mefornowah don’t worry it’ll drop soon. I had a plateau for a bit but scales have started moving down again. I think every couple of weeks your body has a little reset where it checks in to make sure everything’s ok, you’re not actually starving, etc before starting to lose again.

sometimes upping water helps to flush out the fat cells I believe. In the past I’ve just overeaten for a day, which seems to trick my body into thinking more calories are incoming and stops it panicking.

ExplodingCarrots · 19/03/2025 14:25

4.2lbs loss for me this week . Meaning nearly 8lbs off in 2 weeks . The 5mg is definitely doing the trick for me .

SW - 190lbs
CW - 173.4lbs
Total loss - 16.6lbs

MrsPepperpot79 · 19/03/2025 15:10

Well, after dreading the scales due to some overeating, today was actually very pleasing!
SW - 89.45kg
CW - 83.45kg
Which is a 6kg loss overall and 1.7kg this week!
Up to 5mg this evening!

I’m going to try the bonus dose of 2.5 today. Is there a simple conversion chart for the insulin syringes? I know 0.6 is 2.5 but the syringe has 10, 20, 30, 40 on it. How do I know what is 0.6? Maths is not my strong point!

I’ve had a big wardrobe clear out this morning - stuff for charity shop and to be Vinted.

I’m a bit ahead of myself really - there are only a few things in a smaller size that I’m in so far, but I figured there was no point holding onto stuff that a) I haven’t worn in ages b) will soon be too big anyway.

Feels great - I can see what I will need in smaller sizes as I get there, and will buy from supermarkets and Vinted until I get to goal.

Anyone else doing similar yet?

Yes I’ve cleared out lots of things ready for Vinted. Most that I wouldn’t have worn again no matter what.

I’m trying to stick to cheaper things unless I can fit in a size 12, the last time I got below a 12 I was 16yrs old and now I’m 40 so I’d be surprised to ever go back to that size. But I’m thinking ending up somewhere between a 10 and a 12 will be more than fine for me.

Insulin syringes are 1ml, 0.6ml will be at the 60 mark (just check your syringe is 1ml) x

Im due my 7th shot tomorrow - I’m losing on average 4lb a week
started at 19st 5
CW 17 10
GW 13 stone

Im still on 2.5 - feeling a lot of tiredness and gastrointestinal effects (diarrhoea and stomach aches) so in no hurry to move up. If did have a panic at the speed of the weight loss that I’d be losing muscle/ I’d pile it all back on but I’m accepting I’ll be on this for life. Diagnosed with PCOS in my 30s, type 2 diabetes in my mid 30s, I’m now in my mid 40s. Tiredness and stomach aches are worth it to get this consistent weight loss - I tried ZOE eating (UPF free for a good year before mounjaro and while that helped with my skin and inflammation I was not losing weight on it.
The lack of interest in alcohol is also really helpful for me.
I’m recovering from an injury so definitely not as active as I’d like but mounjaro is giving me hope that I can regain my fitness. I think it’s wonderful!
one of our admin staff has been prescribed it at work on the NHS - he also has type 2 diabetes and other health conditions and is doing really well., it’s a different county though.
They won’t prescribe to me in this county but I’ve just received a letter saying I’ve been accepted for tier 3 weight management- they don’t offer weight loss injections only bariatric surgery which I would qualify at my BMI of 46 - but my sisters both had gastric bands 15 years ago and regained the weight , I’ve seen people with gastric sleeves regain as well.
I really feel MJ is affecting my insulin resistance - my calorie deficit does not warrant this speed of weight loss but I’ve read on here MJ also targets inflammation so you are losing stored water as well as fat (and muscle). Dreaming of the days I can get back to heavy lifting at the gym . I’m starting at home with body weight squats and lunges which are easier to get into with 20lb of flab gone!
i watched an Oprah special on weight loss drugs on the Disney channel - it was really inspiring and gave me hope!

Thread 4 already!

I had my first 5mg jab this week. Could barely eat more than 500kcal all day and struggling to keep my protein up.

I use meal replacement shakes as I have a lot of digestive issues but even with those I’m getting a lot of bloating and nausea.

How is everyone else doing?

ashtyler · 19/03/2025 17:46

FunnyCrabDance · 19/03/2025 08:30

Not to be negative but has anyone else felt like losing some of their face fat has created more wrinkles? 😭
For context, Im 46 and always thought I had good skin compared to peers, but i think now it was just a plump face!! I'm also getting signs of a wrinkly turkey neck, and Ive still got 4 stone to go...
Taking collagen already, cant afford fancy face creams or treatments while paying for mj, but open to moderate priced ideas 😊

The only skin care product I would 100% recommend is the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum. I use that and a cheaper moisturiser. You can buy a travel or sample size one: they last ages and really work.

I’ve been on chemo and in chemical menopause, my skin has really suffered but the serum has got rid of the under eye troughs and deeper wrinkles.

Thanks for making a new thread, it's great to hear how people are getting on. I have a lot to lose, started on 13th Feb and will be doing my 6th injection tomorrow (2nd 5mg) and then weighing Friday morning but as of last Friday I've lost 20lbs.

Really good to be reminded that MJ produces satiety rather than suppression - I'd been thinking I didn't have much suppression but actually thinking about it I realise that after my lunch especially I'm always very full for hours which is really, really different for me. I need to try to be more mindful when I'm eating and stop when I'm full - at the moment I'm still in the habit of finishing everything on my plate (although they are much smaller portions) and only realising how full I am a little while after I've stopped.

FunnyCrabDance · 19/03/2025 18:46

@ashtyler thank you, will see if I can get a sample of that to try! Hope your well and recovered now xx

Bluehels · 19/03/2025 19:40

I’ve been really struggling this week. I feel very hungry and never full. I have also felt very fatigued in the evenings and have general low energy.
Its my third week of 5mg. I also struggled on my third week of 2.5mg so I’m hoping its just phase and the suppression will kick back in. Although interestingly Ive just realised that both of these tricky weeks have followed having alcohol at the weekend before. Maybe it’s thrown my sugars levels off??

buffyangel · 19/03/2025 19:56

A bit disappointed today. Did my 4th 2.5mg dose and didn't lose anything at all this week. I have to admit I did have friends over at weekend and went over my calorie allowance but scaled back the next couple of days to compensate. Apparently that does not work. 6lb loss in total so far so at least it's a loss. I find by day 5 the food noise is back. Looking forward to going on to 5mg dose next week. Does the increased dose help with the food noise and will it last all week?

skyscrapersinging · 19/03/2025 20:04

Long time lurker, since the original thread, first post on this. But I’m so happy I’ve now lost over a stone- 6.5kg (14lb). I’m probably about halfway done now, I really “only” (ha!) need to lose 12-15kg total to be within the healthy weight range for my height. My BMI has gone from 28.5 to 26.5 in 6 weeks.

SW 89.2kg
CW 82.7kg
Goal 75kg ish.

This week has been rough though- headache since jab (Mon), constipated, not sleeping well either, so look and feel like an old bag. (Which I am!). Wishing everyone a good week and good numbers on the scales.

Yes the increased dose helped in terms of the food noise absence lasting all week. That was good because 2.5 was starting to feel insufficient by week 4.

However, the two symptoms I have experienced on MJ (coldness and nausea) were more pronounced. Probably to be expected. I can accept the trade-off I think.

Zibb · 19/03/2025 23:22

In 5 weeks my waist has gone from 125cm to 104cm, my hips have gone from 133cm to 119cm, ribs 112cm to 100cm, calves 51cm to 48cm, upper arm 38cm to 31cm.

I don't look different at all. I'm still wearing size 20 - 22 clothes (though I do need a belt with my jeans). Another month and hopefully these changes will be noticeable in the mirror!

OvertiredandConfused · 20/03/2025 00:14

Thanks for the new thread.

Saw my prescribing doctor today. I had a great 4 weeks on 2.5mg (lost 7lbs the first week then 3lbs each of the following three weeks). I’m just coming to the end of week 3 on 5mg and have only lost 2.5lbs in total.

She’s recommended going up to 7.5mg for my next pen. My loss will be slower as I’m completely sedentary (wheelchair user) but still hoping to get to a point where I can loose 8-10lbs a month. I haven’t had side effects (yet) and I’m easily staying in my daily calorie limit and drinking lots of water.

My face and hands definitely look less bloated but no difference with clothes yet, not even feeling looser. I think I might need to brave taking measurements.

I’m away for a few days in Cornwall from today, was planned as a foodie trip, so will be interesting to see how that goes. I suspect I’ll just have one good meal a day and that will be fish and veg, but with tempting sauces and dressings. No scales here, deliberately. Won’t be back on the scales until Monday morning….

PurpleCoo · 20/03/2025 06:22

Week 5 day 6 weigh in

I'm weighing in a day early as I am going away for 10 days. I won't be able to weigh until I get back, so hopefully things don't go pear shaped as I won't be able to adjust my intake based on losing too quickly or too slowly. I'm self catering so continue with the healthy eating plan, although as I'm at the seaside, I really want fish and chips. I am a bit scared though. Not in terms of the calories (I will be walking loads and I deserve a treat meal on holiday), just in terms of if it causes side effects. I haven't had anything greasy or fried since starting MJ, nor anything overly sweet, and no surprise, I haven't had any severe side effects.

Anyway, this week's stats

SW 96.55
CW 89.95
6 day loss 0.55kg
TL 6.6kg

Although it's below my goal of 1kg a week, I am happy with that, and it feels like being in the 80s again after about 12-18 months of being in the 90s is a huge thing worthy of celebration. It's TOTM at present, so I'm sure there is some water retention which will be gone by next weigh in.

I have had a couple of days of the mildest nausea, but I think this might be TOTM related.

I'm going to stick to 2.5mg tomorrow. I had a couple of days of being hungrier than usual, but not excessively so, that seems to have coincided with extra exercise and being due on. Since then I am managing my meals easily but not really hungry between meals, which is perfect and I don't want to mess with that as it's working well for me.

MrsHero · 20/03/2025 06:44

Dose 4 this evening, and I'm 10lb down from my starting weight, hooray!!

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 20/03/2025 06:59

Hope those going on holidays have great breaks.

It's hard not to be really mildly envious of the weight losses most of you are having. It's also hard not to compare. I've only lost 5 pounds in 4 weeks.

I know what I'm doing is right for me though and I'm losing weight faster than those in the trial, on average. I'm also going to start adding core and weights from next week which will make a difference to how I feel.

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 20/03/2025 07:00

I also NC. Had lots of numbers in my last username.

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 20/03/2025 07:25

Weighed this morning, nearly another kilo off, so close!

SW 82.6kg
CW 76.7kg
Total loss 5.9kg

If i was counting in stones, I'm just 1lb off a stone, i was kind of hoping to get that this week but I'm happy as it's nice and steady.

Next week is my last 5mg, I'm undecided about going up to 7.5mg, I've had no big problems with side effects so I probably will and order early next week. I can't afford more than 3 months so that will be it for me!

Yeah I am also wildly envious seeing the huge losses from so many other posters.

For me, I think I need to accept that it's likely to do with the choices that I am making -

I really don't want to count/weigh every calorie etc for a variety of reasons which does likely mean I am eating more than most

I also haven't entirely cut out meals out/alcohol - reduced and made healthier choices but I am still doing both

And at the end of the day, I wouldn't have lost even what I have without Mounjaro so it's clearly the best option for me

I am considering moving over to the plodders thread in this forum as I think it might be better for me

Hangryfastjo · 20/03/2025 07:40

@Zibb oh its heartening to hear you've lost off your calves. I'm always joking mine would feed the family for a few months 🤣 so maybe there's hope mine may get smaller!

@OvertiredandConfused and @PurpleCoo hope you have some lovely time away.

W6D1 weigh in day today once I haul my ass out of bed! I can't believe it's only been 5 full weeks since I started MJ. Anyone else feel like that?

Lola50 · 20/03/2025 08:00

@ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret same here. I even emailed the provider to ask if it wasn’t working! I think we just have to trust the process. Definitely feeling better than 6 weeks ago, though. How about you?
