Good luck over the next few weeks. Loving all the ongoing support and encouragement.

goal below 100kg to start with

Good morning all, week 3 completed and 7kg lost, pleased with that.
Staying on 2.5ml for next month as tolerating it well

Definitely noticed drinking more water speeds up the losses but I’m not a huge fan, gradually trying to incorporate into my day.
Ive been off work for a week and returned yesterday, two people commented that I looked slimmer which took me aback because I have such a lot to lose and I can’t see it, they don’t know I’m on MJ but dieting.

A MJ debate was had in the office yesterday with a colleague saying she wanted to try it and lots of others jumping in with inaccurate information, interesting to listen to and I did add an odd comment to the conversation but didn’t reveal I’m on it, just couldn’t bring myself to.

Have a great week everyone

Hangryfastjo · 20/03/2025 08:20

Yay lost 3lbs this week, one of my higher weeks. I've had to move jab day around so took 6th jab, first 5mg on Monday evening

SW 196.5lbs
CW 183lbs

@ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret same here. I even emailed the provider to ask if it wasn’t working! I think we just have to trust the process. Definitely feeling better than 6 weeks ago, though. How about you?

I don't feel hugely different but I was active and eating pretty well before the program anyhow.
I'm on Monjouro to try and get past and stay the right side of my set points so I guess my body is making it harder than average weight loss, for want of a better way to describe things.

Yeah I am also wildly envious seeing the huge losses from so many other posters.

For me, I think I need to accept that it's likely to do with the choices that I am making -

I really don't want to count/weigh every calorie etc for a variety of reasons which does likely mean I am eating more than most

I also haven't entirely cut out meals out/alcohol - reduced and made healthier choices but I am still doing both

And at the end of the day, I wouldn't have lost even what I have without Mounjaro so it's clearly the best option for me

I am considering moving over to the plodders thread in this forum as I think it might be better for me

Yes I think I will look at the some of the other threads too. Good idea and good luck to you.

I’m definitely a plodder, up to Monday I had lost 6lb in 4 weeks. Since Monday I’ve dropped 4lb, but that’s mostly water weight from the fact that my body seems to be liquifying anything I eat and keeping me on the toilet a lot 😭

I took my first 5ml on Monday but with these side effects I’m going back to 2.5ml next Monday. I’ve got a busy few weeks with a weekend away and Easter holidays. I can’t deal with these side effect’s and all that too.

Hi Everyone

Something that's been on my mind for a while is the 'not losing as fast as others' posts. I see it a lot yer I mostly see people posting losses of 1-2lb a week.
I've been binging these threads since i started MJ almost 6 weeks ago and yet to see these massive losses.

1-2lb is a really, really good loss. People with a LOT of weight to lose will lose more, we're not all built the same.

Please don't compare yourself to others

WLINewbie · 20/03/2025 09:07

P.s I don't follow any MJ related social media but can imagine there's tiktokers claiming to lose a stone a day or something ridiculous. Sadly I don't believe anything an influence says 🤣

I agree! 1 - 2lbs per week is a great slow and steady loss that is meant to be good for long term weight maintenance and less risk of aggravating gallstones.

I lost 10.5lbs with pen 1, and would be happy with / am aiming for 8lbs on pen 2. I want to give my body time to catch up with all the changes.

There are quite a few folk on this thread alone with much more lbs lost than 1-2 a week.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade by specifically naming them but I can see lots of posts. I always particularly notice people with the same starting weight as me and at least a couple of them are now a good stone lighter than me.

I do agree that comparisons aren't especially helpful though which is why I think it might be better for me to move thread at least for a while

PerditionCatchMySoul · 20/03/2025 09:22

So nice to catch up on the thread and see how everyone is doing.

im feeling a bit disheartened today. I lost a stone before christmas going keto, and I’ve lost nearly another stone in the past 6 weeks since starting MJ. And no one has noticed! (Except my mum 🙄) close friends who I see every couple of months and who would defo comment haven’t said anything. I’m seeing some of my besties tomorrow who I haven’t seen since November (when I’d already lost the first stone) so will be interested to see if they say anything.

I feel smaller, my shirts button up properly,
my gym leggings feel better. I’ve always been v active, and I am sure I can see it in my face. But it would have been such a boost for these friends to notice! 😭

Last year I lost 24lb so 4lb shy of 2st, with MJ I’ve lost a total of 31lb (put some weight on over Xmas).

Not one person has noticed, I’m okay with it because I’m doing this for me and no one else but I understand the sentiment. Whilst I don’t need external validation sometimes it would be nice to have confirmation it’s not all in my head 🤣

MynameisJune · 20/03/2025 09:36

By total I mean from my highest weight last April of 208lb and being 177lb this morning. Not 31lb on MJ alone, I wish!

sweetpickle2 · 20/03/2025 09:51

To report back on the arm jabbing for those interested- incredible suppression, have had to force myself to eat enough calories.

MissionToSize10 · 20/03/2025 09:59

Also, with the big losses, i do wonder if those people are actually eating properly? It would be easy for me to skip meals to lose fast, but as im seeing this as a healthy eating plan and exercise, im trying to be good each day with choices. Sometimes i dont want my tea but i force around half down. I dont want to lose fast 1-2lbs is good for me.

my issue is, i keep plateauing. I lose, then put on and then stay the same (this has been happening since week 3!). Im going to 5mg on Saturday so hoping it will kick start it all again!

in all ive lost 9lbs which is great in 5 weeks

Where exactly on the arm do you jab? Bingo wings? In the bicep?

Well done on your loss! That’s amazing and you must feel so much better. I hope people give you that external validation soon! 🤣🤣🤣

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 20/03/2025 11:40

I agree comparison is the thief of joy. My cal intake and exercise is also different to quite a few people in here. Wishing you all well and will pop back in from time to time.

Nicecuppatea2025 · 20/03/2025 12:15

Wow @Zibb! Those numbers are so cool.

@PurpleCoo you’re in the 80s! I’m sooo close to being there. Feels like a new world.

@MissionToSize10 totally agree with you re the eating and applaud your approach to this. I am one of the people on here who is probably guilty of not eating quite right yet. Finding it really hard to get the correct balance with eating properly versus seeing the scales drop. I’m hoping that once I’m down another half stone (and no longer officially obese) I’ll allow myself to chill out a bit and start really working on those healthy routines. Totally in my head at the moment it’s unreal!

Got quite a way to go still, but does anyone know what happens when you reach target weight? Do you go cold turkey off the mounj, or do you taper off slowly?

Thanks for reporting back! Not sure I want that, tbh! What do you think about it?

HoratioBum · 20/03/2025 13:43

First 5mg jab today, after a slow month on 2.5.
I’ve lost 4 pounds in a month, which frankly I could have lost without MJ, but having the suppression has been so helpful as I’m just not so hungry and so can make better choices. I agree it’s not a race, and as long as I’m losing it’s fine but it is disheartening to see other people doing the same and losing much more - for reference I need to lose at least 5 stone for my height and I’m currently on 1200 calories, so not a lot of wiggle room there.
I’m hoping things kickstart a bit now on 5mg. I’ve had very few side effects - anything too greasy/alcohol makes me burp but tbh I’ve cut right back on both.
I have much more energy though, my skin looks great from all the water and vitamins I’m taking, and I haven’t started taking measurements yet but I’m aware leggings feel a bit roomier. A lot of my clothing is stretchy so it will be a while before I notice difference there to be fair!

I don't mind it, I make sure I eat my calories even if I am not hungry so I'm not going without.

That being said, I go up to 5mg next week and thinking I might not do the arm for that first dose incase it's really strong!

@PerditionCatchMySoul I did it sort of underneath my bingo wing.

lastapache · 20/03/2025 14:55

So, week 2 on MJ after swapping over from Oz. I had been on Oz for a year, and went from 205lb to 182lb after 16 weeks. My weight loss then plateaued. That was fine, I was kind of expecting it. Wegovy hadn't been released in Ireland and I had only been able to get 1mg of Ozempic, and trials showed that a 10% weight loss on 1mg was average.

My GP suggested that I should start on 7.5mg of MJ since I had already been on Ozempic for a year. I was rather uncomfortable doing that, so I started on 2.5mg last week and upped the dose to 3.75mg this week. No side effects, and no appetite suppression so far. Well, not really. I did feel a bit fuller yesterday but I'm not sure today. I wasn't expecting a huge difference since I'm on the very low doses. I don't expect to feel anything until I get up to 7.5mg plus.

For those of you in Ireland that have recently been prescribed MJ, the prices in Irish pharmacies are frankly criminal. If you get your GP to post your paper prescription to a pharmacy in the North, they will courier it down to you. My pharmacy's price for the starter dose is £150, which includes delivery. That's about 40% less than what Boots and the like are charging in Dublin.

Roxymama · 20/03/2025 14:55

Week 6 for me, I’ve decided to stay on the 2.5 as it seems to be working.

Ive lost a stone / 14 pounds over 6 weeks! I’ve really pleased with that. Under active thyroid, 45 year old mum of 4… I’ve been putting on steadily over the last year or more.

Start weight - 12 stone 5 pounds
6 week weigh in - 11 stone 5 pounds

Hope everyone’s doing ok, gets a bit busy as a single working mum of 4 to read everyone’s comments so just a quick well done everyone, keep going!

Hangryfastjo · 20/03/2025 16:01

Thanks for reporting back on the effects of the arm shot (I was really interested till this 5mg has knocked me for six) but I'm really struggling with 5mg.
I had my first dose of this, Monday 4pm and I've felt continously full since them. I trying to eat protein and then having a small tea, but how do you eat your calories if you are full to brim? And on top of all the water?

To top this DH has just tried to get me up Coniston old man. I really, really tried, but had to give up just over half way, I couldn't keep going upwards. My fitness needs loads of work and not eaten enough for energy, but I didn't want to put loads of blocks in to say no. Anyway, giving myself till end of summer and I'll try again.

OntheTrainX · 20/03/2025 16:27

I’m finding 5mg a bit bleurgh too. Felt nauseous in work today. My colleague who has been on MJ since Christmas and has lost about 2.5 stones (I haven’t told anyone, but she’s been open about it) said today that she’d gone up to 7.5 last week and has been feeling quite groggy. She looked pale and was quieter than normal. She’s otherwise healthy and she’s young. I think I’ll stick to 5 next month.
