Happy Good Friday!!

Weight day here! Week 10 I think!

This weeks loss: -0.5kg / -1lb
Total loss: 14kg / 30lbs

This week has been tough, with a lack of sleep, so haven't been the best at looking after myself! So pleased with any loss!!

MJSpideySenses · 18/04/2025 08:05

Good morning! Weigh in day here too.
1.6lb loss this week.

SW 15st0.8
CW 13st3.6
TL 1st11.2

Really want to get to 2st loss by next week, as that's 12 weeks in, but it seems unlikely. I've got this week on 5mg, then I'm going up to 7.5mg.

@pinkcow123 30lbs in 10 weeks is amazing! Well done.

PerditionCatchMySoul · 18/04/2025 08:07

Hangryfastjo · 15/04/2025 08:49

@PerditionCatchMySoul that's the amount I took as my 5th 5mg dose.
I've done some research and you could go on to do 4 doses of 6.25mg from the 5mg pen or take 5mg every 6 days, both work out at a similar dose apparently. Since this dose was a full 6.25, I'm going to wait the full week, before deciding which way to do it

Hi! Have you decided what you’re going to do yet? :)

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 18/04/2025 08:09

Fixed my scale and it seems I'm having a slow week after a whoosh last week but that's alright.

Being in the 76.xs kgs is still good and I'll be in the 75s and my first stone loss before I know it.

I've also dropped my dose down to 1.6mg every 5 days from 1.75mg every 4 days because I need my brain back. Hope it works.

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 18/04/2025 08:14

What challenges do people have for Easter?

We have to attend an event and overnight stay with the inlaws. I jabbed last night and the get together is on Monday so my stomach should be alright. I won't drink much and shall just try to focus on the company...

WLINewbie · 18/04/2025 08:23

I can't wait for my easter egg! So excited 😋

Hi! Have you decided what you’re going to do yet? :)

No, as i took 6.25 last Monday, I'm waiting till Monday to decide. TBH I'm struggling a little at the moment. The scales aren't moving significantly and I feel like I'm managing on willpower alone 😩

SpiralSister · 18/04/2025 08:30

Morning lovelies, and Happy Easter! I never know whether you say that on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, or what..🐣

I had a nice NSV last night. Went out for a drink and saw some friends I hadn’t seen for a while. One of them gave me a big hug, almost before properly looking at me, and then did a double take - ‘bloody hell! How much weight have you lost!’ It felt good 😂.

There was a thread on here this week about how the OP felt wildly uncomfortable at having their loss remarked upon, and lots of people agreed.
I am not one of those people 😂.

Have a great Easter, everyone. Enjoy the treats, if you have them. I’m going to have a hot cross bun and I’m looking forward to it. It’s a vast improvement on the several packets I would have scoffed in the past! 💐

Glad you are happy with how things are going.

Forgive the caution but just in case you don't know rapid weight loss can increase the risk of gallstones and pancreatitis.

pinkcow123 · 18/04/2025 08:47

@ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret thank you for the caution.

I don't think it's that rapid, in my case. I have a lot to lose and I lost a lot of water weight in the first few weeks (8lbs followed by 4lbs).

Since then I've been losing a steady 2lb a week. (With one 4lb loss after a stall around my period).
The 30lbs is only just 10% of my body weight.

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 18/04/2025 08:48

@pinkcow123 Glad to hear it. Stay well and thanks for taking my post as I'd intended. x

That’s so hard isn’t it, especially when you’re paying for a medication that’s supposed to help with willpower. Have you noticed a difference between 5 and the 6.25 dose? I have. I’m also still contemplating what to do…

Nicecuppatea2025 · 18/04/2025 09:29

I’ve only gone and done it!

12 weeks since starting all this, this morning’s weigh-in confirmed am now officially NHS BMI ‘overweight’ and no longer ‘obese’.

Ke11 · 18/04/2025 10:11

Starting week 12 today

Sw: 116.5kg
Cw: 101.4kg/33lb
Total loss so far: 15.1kg/33lb or 192,308 bees

This week was alright, did have a few meals out but had a starter and a shared side rather than a main, didn't manage to finish all of the rather large starter so glad I didn't get a main and waste it.

We had a Costco cake at work yesterday and I couldn't manage a small piece, the icing seemed sickly and way too sweet, before I would have hoovered it up. I'm taking that as a good sign that my taste for sweet stuff has changed.

Been pretty active this week which I think helped a lot. Lots of walking, circuits class on Tues and 2 swims, the second one I pushed myself a lot, just to see how close I am to my previous fitness, I managed 60 lengths in 45 mins, I used to do 120 lengths in 90 mins so I'm on track 😁

I've decided on moving up to 7.5 for the next pen since 5 is wearing off noticeably after about 5 days. I've got 2 doses left so I've shifted to every 6 days which has really helped this week.

Nicecuppatea2025 · 18/04/2025 10:13

@Ke11 hands down the best weight comparison so far. 192,308 bees! 😂

Thanks spiral and everyone.

Won’t lie, I fasted these last couple of days to reach that milestone. Was getting very bored of ‘almost’ getting there.

Goodbye, obesity. Hope I never see you again!

Week 8, 5mg jab done. I can hear my stomach gurgling already! Had sensible porridge, banana, peanut butter breakfast, so hoping not to get that wobbly low blood sugar feeling. Am about to have a glass of water with electrolytes.

Lots of relatives coming to stay this weekend. Aiming for small, sensible portions. I usually feel a bit sick, cold, and get full very quickly immediately after my jab, so I hope that's not too noticeable.

WelshRarebit18 · 18/04/2025 11:06

I’ve plateaued these past two weeks. I’ve been on 5mg for about a month but decided to drop to 2.5mg the week before last as I didn’t want any side effects whilst away from home. My appetite felt distinctly normal again which was a pain.

Took 5mg again last Friday but I’ve not felt much suppression at all this past week. Hopefully it’ll return after I dose up again tonight. Going down to 2.5mg definitely put a spanner in the works so I doubt I’ll do that again!!

So it’s all bit demoralising hovering around the 11st mark as usual (my body loves being this weight) but I have to keep reminding myself that I’ve lost 2st since starting in Feb and I WILL break through the barrier!!

Try to see it as a recalibration.

I'm convinced when your body hangs out at a new lower weight for a while, it's actually recalibrating a new set point - like putting a wall between your Goal weight and your starting weight.

So basically if at some point in the future you do gain weight for any reason - you'll hit your 11stone wall and linger there instead of shooting right back up.

What happens coming down also happens going back up.

It's frustrating but in the long term has its benefits.

OntheTrainX · 18/04/2025 12:05

1.5lbs (0.68kg) lost this week. I’ve lost 11.75% of my body weight since starting on 12th Feb. Quite pleased with that stat!

I had breakfast with a group of friends earlier. One guy has gone from 19 stone to just over 16 stone on MJ since Christmas. He’s 6’3 and looks very good. He’s a doctor and said that pretty much every “fat doctor” (his phrase) he knows is on MJ. He also said that his cardiologist friend described WLI as a “no brainer” and said that they would “save many thousands of lives”. My mate is a knee surgeon and mentioned that several patients who need to reduce their BMI before surgery are taking WLI so he’s obviously happy for his patients to be on it too.

I haven’t told anyone about MJ because I couldn’t be arsed with gloomy opinions so it was good to hear some cheerful stuff and from a medical professional to boot.

He did moan about the side effects (nausea and fatigue in his case) but said they were worth it.

With the 1.5lb off this week and the conversation with him, I’m feeling motivated!

Two years ago I worked with someone on exercise, nutrition, steps and protein goals and got down to the exact weight I am now. Going any lower im looking at 10+ years ago. So I'm hoping it's just my body checking out what's going on, before it decides what to do.
I have 3 of my boys home for a late Easter Sunday meal (as they're all working) so definitely won't be having my jab early (I'm Monday morning) but not sure if to do 5mg, every 6 days or 6.25 every 7. Also wondering about 3mg ever 4 days 🤣🤣

Mounjaronewbie25 · 18/04/2025 14:01

@Nicecuppatea2025 That’s great news getting out of the obese range!

NSV here today, was able to wrap a ‘normal’ sized towel round myself with no gap! Usually I have to use the big bath sheets lol.

PurpleCoo · 18/04/2025 14:03

Well done everyone on your losses this week.

Injection number 10 for me today, and I've increased from 3.33mg to 3.75mg.

SW 96.65
CW 84.95
8 day loss 1.55kg
Total loss 11.7kg

Although I have technically lost more than I should this week, I only lost 0.4kg last week due to TOTM, so taken as a 2 week loss of 2kg, that's a perfect weight loss, as a lot of this week's would be losing water retention. I am really pleased as I don't want to lose too quickly nor too slowly and I am going at a perfect steady rate now. I do count my calories and pretty much stick to target, so the amount I am on seems spot on for steady weight loss.

I'm a bit gutted in other ways though as I am trying to be good and do 3x 1 hour swims, 2x body pump classes and a minimum of 10.5 hours brisk walking a week, which feels achievable for me. Unfortunately being away for 3 nights, TOTM, and now being sick with a cold for several days means I haven't come close to meeting my exercise goals. I know it would be silly to exercise a lot when ill, but I enjoy exercise and feel the impact when I haven't enough.
