@Nicecuppatea2025 I’ve just noticed your name change - is it really you?, 😂

Nicecuppatea2025 · 19/03/2025 08:27

Haha oops yes, ah well 😂

Officially over 2 stone loss today. Today is a great day!

Just checking in to the new thread! Took my 2nd 5mg jab today. Weigh day is Monday, was very pleased yesterday with 7lb down!
*This is following a 3lb gain the week before when 2.5 just wasn't feeling like it was working anymore.
Total loss 1st 4lb so feeling good after my 7th dose today! 😃

Heard people at work discussing weight loss jabs and being quite negative about it - glad I have kept it to myself. Some people are so judgemental!

My hairdresser told me she sees so many clients on weight loss jobs and she’s thinks they’re awful. So glad I didn’t share I was using them. Only DH knows and hes doing them as well.

FunnyCrabDance · 19/03/2025 08:30

Not to be negative but has anyone else felt like losing some of their face fat has created more wrinkles? 😭
For context, Im 46 and always thought I had good skin compared to peers, but i think now it was just a plump face!! I'm also getting signs of a wrinkly turkey neck, and Ive still got 4 stone to go...
Taking collagen already, cant afford fancy face creams or treatments while paying for mj, but open to moderate priced ideas 😊

LollyWillow · 19/03/2025 08:31

Thanks for the new thread @Nicecuppatea2025.
Just a quick weigh-in as swimming lessons are back this morning! Thank goodness. I'm looking forward to it.
Week 4
SW 111kgs/17st 6lbs
CW 105.8 kgs / 16st 5lbs
So that's a loss of 1.1kg or 3lbs this week and 5.2kg since my first jab.
I'm going to do my first 5mg injection this evening. I'm a bit trepidatious as I felt so sick last weekend, but I'm generally very happy and so need to stay on programme.
It's a beautiful sunny spring day here - enjoy your Wednesday everyone!

Febnewbie · 19/03/2025 08:43

Did my 6th jab yesterday, 2nd on 5mg.

In total, I have lost 8lb which is slow going relative to most of the rest of you. Nothing lost this last week.

What's weird to me is that it feels like a lot more? I really feel physically quite a lot smaller even though I haven't objectively lost that much weight, and I can get into clothes that didn't fit me before. I think what it is is that it's all come off my middle. I feel lighter and have more spring in my step

I have been focussing on eating high protein and lots of fruit and vegetables, not calorie counting.

Whichwoo · 19/03/2025 09:13

Marking my place too!
Thanks for the new thread.
I did my bonus dose on Monday but used up everything that was left in the pen. I figured that’d be fine as I’m moving up to 5mg next week.
I’ve been quite cold since then, and really struggling with the dreaded sulfur burps last night and a slightly cramping tummy. All seems fine today though.
I have now lost a stone altogether, and would like to lose another 3. I feel like I haven’t quite mastered a new lifestyle though. I’ve been trying to do more exercise and strength training, but still finding the time seems tricky between work, kids and housework.
I also need to start forcing myself to eat more, get enough fibre, and drink more water. Haven’t quite managed to get a handle on those lifestyle changes yet. Anyone have any ideas for how to make it all less boring?! I’m (self diagnosed) adhd and getting something cemented in my routine is HARD!!!
Hope everyone has a good week.

Ha anyone experienced a side effect of... rage? I've had irritability on medication before but this is a pretty deep burning rage like it's removed some kind of filter 💀

I'm not going about being raging, and it's not over nothing - it's quite difficult to explain but I feel like I can't talk myself out of being quite mad when I'm seeing for example someone being unfair to someone else.

sc0ttishlass · 19/03/2025 09:17

Weigh Day here, in beautiful sunny Scotland (observation, for years I've never looked forward to nicer weather due to size and not being able to cover up..a long way to go but feel a bit more hopeful about this!)

7th injection
Starting weight 13 stone 5
Current weight 11 stone 13
Total loss 20lb!
Height 5.3

Last week felt horrendous on first 5mg this week I'm going to focus on water to see if that helps, and other vitamins as pp mentioned.

Also interested re pps comment that we aren't meant to feel suppression but that we feel full and stop eating which makes sense. I definitely felt more like this last week and had a cupcake on 2 days.. last 6 weeks have had nothing as not felt like it, difference being previously I'd gave had at least 2 or 3 and this week I had one.

Have a good week all

Hmm I suspect your missing badger may have run away with my lost two year old... 🤔 😅

Nearly at the point of losing the average amount of cheese an American eats each year now - considering what a massive cheese monster I was before starting MJ I think this may be quite accurate for me personally!

Hersetta427 · 19/03/2025 09:21

I went to 3.75mg as I didn't feel like I wanted or really needed to double my dose straight up to 5mg. We shall see how it goes. I may do 3x 3.75 and then 2 x 5mg (plus the GD) or do 3.75 the whole pen and then use whatever I have left and take the rest from my next pen. We will see how it goes on 3.75mg.

ctrlaltdelete1 · 19/03/2025 09:22

Morning everyone! Took fourth 2.5mg on Saturday and am down just over 7 lbs. Have 5mg pen in fridge and insulin needles ready as I debate the GD!

Anyone feeling more anxious? I’m getting that jittery anxiety thing every so often which I’ve never really had before. I’m (or I should say “I was”) a massive comfort eater/binger so have found myself a bit lost for a crutch/distraction when feeling highly stressed. Having to feel my feelings a bit more than normal is maybe the thing triggering the increased anxiety…not sure.

I am loving not thinking about food constantly. I honestly didn’t realise how much this impacted so many people…so it is a bit comforting to know I’m not alone but also sad to think so many of us are experiencing this!

Haha yes, me. I don't show it (I think??) but I'm definitely more irritable in general and have developed a tendency to have lengthy 'what I should have said' arguments in my head with people who are rude/inconsiderate etc. I just spent a good ten minutes epically winning an argument with a cyclist who nearly knocked me over on the pavement (only in my head obviously - in reality I said 'oh, so sorry!' and moved out of his way apologetically in very British fashion 🤣)

Lola50 · 19/03/2025 09:54

@Febnewbie I am so pleased you posted this! I am in exactly the same position as you. Slow loss by everyone else’s standards, but I do feel smaller. And better about myself (even though I still weigh more than I want). Food noise is all but disappeared and I don’t count a single calorie. For the first time in about 35 years.
I’m glad you feel better in yourself as well

Nicecuppatea2025 · 19/03/2025 10:00

I’m menopausal so the rage is real already! Thankfully Mounjaro’s made no difference here … but tbh not sure it could get any worse 😂

Thank you for the New Thread :)

Hangryfastjo · 19/03/2025 11:14

So things I've noticed (53, post menopausal)
I used to get so irate with work emails, and fly off the handle (but only to myself/husband as WFH) but now I feel I manage these reactions a lot better and calmer.
I do sometimes feel more "jittery" and anxious but this also raised its head when I was perimenopausal.
I have also felt at times, when chattering away to DH, like I'm on speed almost, talking at length about shit basically, which has felt strange 🤣🤣

flipflop76 · 19/03/2025 11:42

Hi everyone. I took jab 4 this morning - I've lost 8lbs so far (just 1lb last week). I've just ordered the 5mg pen as I'm not getting much suppression and still crave stuff. I've been eating all morning! I'm debating doing the golden dose next week or maybe I should just start the 5mg pen given I still want to eat loads! It's definitely changed things for me but not massively and I still want to binge on crisps!

MissionToSize10 · 19/03/2025 11:48

Conversation in the office just now on WLI. No one knows im taking them. I didnt say much tbh. Its funny what people think about them vs the reality of taking them

WelshRarebit18 · 19/03/2025 11:48

LaurenW · 18/03/2025 18:35

Just to say - have had horrendous side effects in 2nd jab of 5mg after nothing at all on previous jabs…tried all sorts of things to help…but Pepto Bismol has saved the day!! Helped with major tummy issues, burps, nausea, everything! Fabulous stuff!

Same here! Was fine after my first 5mg but halfway through the week of my second 5mg and my stomach is churning like a washing machine. Awful burps and nausea. I’ve got a massive bottle of Pepto Bismol but trying not too have too much. Hope you feel better.

SpiralSister · 19/03/2025 11:51

I’ve had a big wardrobe clear out this morning - stuff for charity shop and to be Vinted.

I’m a bit ahead of myself really - there are only a few things in a smaller size that I’m in so far, but I figured there was no point holding onto stuff that a) I haven’t worn in ages b) will soon be too big anyway.

Feels great - I can see what I will need in smaller sizes as I get there, and will buy from supermarkets and Vinted until I get to goal.

Anyone else doing similar yet?

Nicecuppatea2025 · 19/03/2025 12:17

It’s a good idea. Will start clearing this weekend!

I found last time I started mj I was at a bit of a lose end with stress as I wasn't able to binge and so didn't really know what to do with myself. It got easier though after maybe month 2 and my mental health was the best it had been for a really long time. That's why I wanted to get back onto mj again the physical and mental benefits were great for me.

alwayshavebeenfemale · 19/03/2025 12:38

Thank you for the new thread @Nicecuppatea2025. I'm feeling really positive since starting this - it seems that it just may be possible after all! I'm 15lb down in total but feel so much less! What have I lost the equivalent of? I'd love to know.....🥰

mefornow · 19/03/2025 12:53

Two sides to my story so far this week:
on the plus side I ran for 5km solid this morning, think I look better and noticed clothes fitting much better, plus I now have all 3 rings back on my finger… wedding, engagement and eternity. Which is a huge plus as dh had been asking me to get them resized but my stubborn streak kicked in and I refused to alter them!
but on the down side the scales are refusing to budge! I’ve been at 201lbs for the past 4 days and it won’t move. I’m so close to breaking the 200lb mark but I can’t get there. I’ve had 201.6, 201.4, 201.0, 201.2. Please reassure me they will move past this soon????
