Welcome to thread 2 never thought we would be posting so much that we have to start a new thread.

I am still hovering around 12 and a half stone. I have been absolutely freezing to the point I have a duvet on the sofa.

I have had one NSV so far I can zip up my boots and they do not feel tight anymore.

Second jab done, 2 days late....I wasn't feeling great with the cold, so I held off until I felt a little better. 2 pounds lost in the first week, and I will be happy with the same again. Slow and steady, so they say...

Bubbless31 · 18/03/2025 21:16

Ive just ordered mine so hope it’s ok to slide in here a little early! I’ve read all the posts, a lot of chat about protein… is this something il be told about when it arrives or something i need to glean from you all?!

I've only found out about the importance of protein from here. It's to prevent muscle wastage and a gaunt face (see Sharon Osborne for more detail!). You'd get the same with any low calorie diet, but the change is so rapid with MJ it seems like a good idea to get on the protein from the off.

MisfitMagpie · 18/03/2025 23:04

I took my first jab this evening, the calorie counting and eating healthier started a couple of weeks ago, I do have a lot to lose and know this will take time but something has shifted mentally and I am determined to succeed no matter how long it takes.

SW: 22 st 11.8 lb
GW: 12 st 5 lb (healthy range BMI as a target)

Already picked up lots of useful information from this site.

Thanks for new thread l. New to this group yesterday. Halfway through W1 so tempted to jump on the scales and see but nervous.

SW 13.4
GW 9.4

We have matching numbers! My GW is higher (10.7) but wishing you all the best as a SW-sister! Started today, can’t wait to see how it goes.

Wouldratherbewatchingmafs · 19/03/2025 05:21

Week 2 (on injections):

SW 5th March '25: 14st 4.5lbs
CW: 13st 10lbs

I've just weighed and I've lost 3.5lbs on my second week! I really thought I'd have a much smaller loss this week. I also started my period yesterday so really pleased that that hasn't seemed to affect my appetite or my weigh in! We've got a family holiday at Easter so I'm attempting to move my injection day to a Friday. I'm pushing out my jab to tomorrow this week so fingers crossed that doesn't mess things up .
Suppression is still good for me on this starter dose.

I started my weight loss journey exactly a year ago yesterday and I have now officially lost 5 stone. I can't believe how far I've come. At the moment I don't have a goal beyond one more pound off, which will mean me moving into the "overweight" rather than "obese" class. I'm going to have a think of my next goal once I've reached that. Small goals work better for me, I think because I had so much to lose in the first place!!

Have a great week all xxx

Same SW as me too, and would love to get to ten and a half. Don't know if I might stop at 11 stone though, will see how I feel. Haven't see 11 something on the scales for 16+ years. Was pleased to see 12 something for the first time in six months after Week 1! Now 12.11.5 after week 2. Hoping to get to the half stone off mark this week.

GameOfJones · 19/03/2025 07:41

Halfway through week 2 and I suddenly feel exhausted! I had to crawl into bed at 10pm last night and fell straight asleep, slept for 9 hours straight and have woken up still feeling really tired. Not sure whether it's the MJ, the change in eating habits and less food in general or if I'm coming down with something as I'm also pretty snotty. I'm having my black coffee and supplements with a large glass of water and hopefully that will make me feel better.

I did have a sneak peek at the scales and things are looking good but I'll wait until Friday to officially log my weigh in.

northernlight20 · 19/03/2025 07:49

Jab day today. Start of wk 3.
sw 114.4kg
cw 109.2kg
cant believe it really, no side effects and it’s been the easiest weight loss journey for me so far.

Flamethrowers · 19/03/2025 07:54

week 2 day four
very tired all the time and cold
but enjoying the consistent clean eating and the lack of obsessive snacking
i reordered a 2.5

Choirgirl699 · 19/03/2025 08:11

Well, I'm a daily weigher as I like to understand daily fluctuations. Haven't lost a pound yet in the last 4/5 days. Not bothered as I'm not doing anything differently so putting it down to my body finally saying "what the f is she doing!?" and trying to hold on to the weight. 😁

Flamethrowers · 19/03/2025 08:23

I'm quite concerned about ozempic face. I am not very overweight but do have high cholesterol and hashimotos. I asked chat gpt for advice and it gave me a diet and exercise regime. Most importantly it told me not to go below 1.5-2 pounds per week weight loss as it said that would cause gauntness. Also I'd like me you have an under active thyroid it's apparently important to maintain carbs as without carbs your bodies metabolism slows down and affects the origination of t3 (for those also with an hndersctive thyroid). It also advised collagen supplements daily. So I've decided to stay on 2.5 and eat three regular clean meals a day. I should still hit my weight loss goal by end July (I hope)....

Flamethrowers · 19/03/2025 08:33

I suppose one effect of Mounjaro is that rather than think when will this hell be over and trying to eat as little as possible I'm thinking quite naturally as this being a long term project or at least four or five months to get to my desired weight

Whereissummer24 · 19/03/2025 08:53

Morning all - jabbed yesterday on my stomach and have a bruise today. Anyone else have the same? I was a bit clumsy doing it as i was freaking out! Was freezing all evening but slept like a log. Have woken up and had a coffee this morning, not even tempted by breakfast today yet.
Going to get googling high protein recipes to avoid the gauntness!!

Sleepeazie · 19/03/2025 09:18

@Whereissummer24 i have bruised twice and got a red lump the other… it’s not like there isn’t plenty of cushioning there either 😂

Loveab123 · 19/03/2025 09:21

Does anyone else not feel the suppression straight away? Jabbed last night, woke this morning and made my toddler breakfast which I picked at. I don't want to be picking at these things! I have a protein shake there I will be having shortly.

Yes I have bruised. I bruise easily though so think it's unavoidable. Disappeared after a few days. Just try and avoid the same area next time so it's not tender.

StrongerEveryDay · 19/03/2025 09:27

My third shot is due tonight.

SW - 121.8kg
CW - 117kg

This feels like a miracle!

snoopymcsnooperson · 19/03/2025 10:21

Just injected my first dose! Now nervously/excitedly awaiting any side-effects or results 😊

GameOfJones · 19/03/2025 10:38

I've also bruised when I've jabbed. I have done it in my stomach and swapped sides for jab 2 so I'm not doing it in the same place each time.

@Loveab123 suppression doesn't kick in straight away for me. I inject on Saturday mornings and would say that I only feel strong suppression Mon-Wed so far.

I felt something within hours of first jab and am definitely eating less, but I have picked at one or two things in that time. 48 hours since first injection.

What I noticed was that I picked less. A bite to taste was fine. I enjoyed it, that was enough. I chalked that up as a win. Perhaps if you think to yourself, I will have one little bit and no more, that would help?

Whereissummer24 · 19/03/2025 12:06

24 hours in and i've not had the urge to sweep the cupboards like usual! I also didnt have any alcohol last night - i tend to have a glass while cooking and had no interest in it last night - long may that last!! No great feelings of fullness yet but early days. For the first time in a long time i'm hoping to have a summer holiday where i don't hide from photos. Whats everyone doing about exercise - i'm thinking of rejoining the gym as im so worried about the muscle loss

I'm doing bodyweight exercises like strength yoga, and I'm walking. Avoiding cardio!

I also found this this calisthenics guy on YouTube. He has practical bodyweight exercises for every level.

Yes! I jabbed Monday for the first time and noticed it felt a bit tender yesterday and there’s a bruise. I’ve used MJ before last year and this never happened. I didn’t do anything different this time around. All I can think of is where I jabbed is right where the waistband of my gym leggings sit and I wore them for a few more hours after the jab (including doing a workout) - they’re quite tight so would have put pressure on the jab site. Will see if it happens next week when I choose a different spot.

I was thinking that I wasn’t having any suppression, but not too concerned as it’s only my first dose of 2.5mg. I’ve been getting hungry and able to eat my usual portions. But then my DH pointed out that I haven’t snacked (an absolute miracle), went to the shop last night and didn’t come back with packets of biscuits and have generally been able to stick to my healthy meal plan without deciding that actually I’m craving carbs tonight, so let’s have a huge bowl of pasta and forget the salmon and veg 😂. I’m so motivated with exercise as well! I do a gym class twice a week (strength and HIIT) and then run once to twice as well. I have some basic gym equipment at home, and on Monday I missed my gym class as work overran, and rather than just do nothing and feel relieved I didn’t have to go to the gym (as I’d usually do), I did a strength workout at home instead as I was so irritated I’d missed my class. So my mindset has 100% shifted.
