Welcome to thread 2 never thought we would be posting so much that we have to start a new thread.

I am still hovering around 12 and a half stone. I have been absolutely freezing to the point I have a duvet on the sofa.

I have had one NSV so far I can zip up my boots and they do not feel tight anymore.

Took my first dose last night! I was on MJ for a month last Oct/Nov but had to stop until some potential side effects/health issues were ironed out. Got the all clear so I’m all good to start again. I lost 1st 5lbs in 7 weeks last time as I continued losing for a few weeks after stopping due to still feeling the effects. I now fluctuate between gaining and losing 5lbs, but pretty pleased I haven’t gained back more than that, especially as we had Christmas thrown in. Anyway, now I can restart my MJ journey. I keep telling myself it might not go the same as last time, I could lose weight at a different pace or get different side effects. Anyway, so far so good. Don’t feel any different.

I’ve also signed up with Team RH on the GLP1 plan, to help my nutrition and exercise and hopefully build new habits ready for if/when I stop MJ - has anyone else used them? I like what I’ve seen so far - work ran late last night and I missed my gym class, so I did one from the app instead and really enjoyed it. They want daily weigh ins though which I’m not on board with, as I can get very obsessed with the scales!

Question - I was diagnosed dairy intolerant last year, and can’t stand protein powders/shakes (vegan ones of course). Any other suggestions for food to up my protein intake other than the obvious meat, eggs etc. My beloved Greek yoghurt is off the menu now which was my go-to.

Fellow Team RHer here.....👋
I have been with Team RH previously and never had an issue with them so I was definitely signing up to the GLP1 plan once I decided it was the route for me.

I've never been keen on daily weigh ins either but the reasoning behind it does make sense, and they do need the info if you need any extra help and support.

Have you tried the clear protein? I got a My Protein variety box off Amazon and they are like a fruit squash.

SmallSoupcon · 18/03/2025 13:15

I can't digest protein powders either, and I have to be careful with pulses and beans because of my IBS.

If you like yoghurt, you could have coconut yoghurt with a high protein granola and add soy crispies.

I have nuts, mushrooms, fish/seafood, smoked ham and turkey, and eggs. Heck or Aldi chicken sausages are nice. I make batches of pancakes with blitzed banana, egg and ground almonds for the freezer. I also like these snack satay skewers too. Could probably make my own, if I make the effort! https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/taste-original-chicken-satay-skewers-sweet-chilli-dip-55g?istCompanyId=1e096408-041f-4238-994e-a7cf46bf9413&istFeedId=689af7a8-5842-4d88-be59-1ee5688a81b5&istItemId=lwlaxlqpt&istBid=t&&cmpid=cpc&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=11354430451&utm_content=shopping&utm_term=%257Bsku%257D&utm_custom1=106571615210&utm_custom2=759-449-0952&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjws-S-BhD2ARIsALssG0b_QkdImFFUg1rz0M48t3ndluviN62s_rGSRVvqigsNz7Avy0iBu_QaAoLuEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Anyone else had a really dry mouth as a SE?

Took my second dose on Sunday, yesterday I was really cold (but can’t work out if that’s just because it’s chilly!), felt a bit queasy (figured that was the Mounjaro), but also had a really dry mouth & dead thirsty - seems to have subsided today.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 18/03/2025 13:59

I drank a whole pint of water overnight rhe first night. I'm drinking more than normal too , well water anyway. Much much less tea snd coffee.

Not hugely dry but I've noticed being thirsty more than usual. Started yesterday.

Changingplace · 18/03/2025 14:29

Good to know it sounds quite common, such odd side effects! Guess drinking more water is generally good for you anyway.

And helps with constipation too. Which I've not had, though early days I know.

Hi everyone

Great to see we're all doing so well 👏

Week 3 jab done today. Reading these posts feel I've been very lucky with very little side effects. Woke in the night after jag 1 feeling nauseous but fell back asleep. Appetite suppression is beginning to less from day5/6 with me so happy with that at the moment. Still unsure whether to go up to 5mg as 2.5 is working for me. Aim last week was to drink more water which I did, but my scales are telling me I've went up but still too low same with protein.

Had my first "day/night out" since starting - couldn't finish my meal and wasn't craving the alcohol like I normally do, even managed to have a few glasses of water instead. Next day was no different to other days after I've been drinking, although did feel more tired.

@TheRealTiger how did you get them to do this? I need to order my 2nd pen this week. Thanks

Or would anyone like my discount code to use with Medexpress?

I just emailed them with a link and screenshot of the same product listed cheaper on the Chemist4u website!

MountainQueen · 18/03/2025 16:05

My second pen arrived today, now chilling in the fridge. Gives me a bit more time to decide which provider I will switch to as it's getting quite expensive now. I'm a bit wary about my GP being informed as I live in a small community and know some of my local GP practice staff personally. I know they can't tell my medical details to anyone but I would feel judged every time I see them at the school gates as our children go to school together. Or am I being silly thinking that?

Letsgetitdone · 18/03/2025 16:43

Can I ask what are people doing about eating when they really do not feel hungry?

I have eaten a very small bowel of Bran flakes this morning - (very conscious of needing the fibre) and 2 eggs scrambled with a few spoonfuls of baked beans for lunch as well as having a clear protein shake and just over a litre of water so far and I am BLOATED!!

I have just prepped the salad and potatoes for dinner later and I have no idea how I am going to manage eating anything.... this is my struggle, do I force something down or just not eat again until tomorrow?
Not eating again until tomorrow will mean that I have only had around 600 calories, which is way too low 😩.

Edited

I can appreciate where you're coming from but I wouldn't worry about it.

I think they'll be too busy worrying about their own lives and admiring how amazing you look!

museumum · 18/03/2025 17:27

I’m sooooo cold 🥶
Im day 6 week 1, not sure I’m getting lots of suppression. A bit I think. But I’m so permanently freezing. My room is 20deg right now but my hands ice cold. I’m going to bankrupt myself with heating bills on top of the cost of the pens.

Did anyone start out cold in week 1 but then start feeling normal again in subsequent weeks?

SharpOpalNewt · 18/03/2025 17:48

I can't say that I feel any colder than I normally do in cold weather, even with the weight loss.

And I haven't had so much suppression that I've not felt like eating at mealtimes.

I'm just starting week 2 and feel freezing. I've got an electric head pad on constantly and have just ordered an Oodie! I'm finding my hands and feet get especially cold (might need slippers), and I'm even chilly at night which is usually the opposite for me.

I guess think about what your body might need and if you are going to only eat a small amount make it count…

Its challenging… I’ve managed about 900 calories today

I'm trying to go for light and small meals. Just had a 2 egg frittata thingy with a bit of veg mixed in. Had chicken soup earlier. Might try some Greek yoghurt later but it's jab day today and last week I was sick 24 hours after so I'm being v cautious.

The only thing I really want to eat is fresh fruit. Crazy times...

Gotitok · 18/03/2025 19:10

Hi everyone! I had my first dose this morning. So far so good but I’m getting terrible anxiety about any side effects. I really want and need to lose weight though so I’m trying to be brave😃 2 years ago I went from 15 stone to 12 from calorie counting. I did so well but unfortunately my old habits crept back and I couldn’t get back on it. Tried it again but just didn’t have the willpower for some reason. I’m now 16 stone😩
Nervous but excited to start this journey

BeaTwix · 18/03/2025 19:31

@Edensnapz I'm noticing the same approch to food.

This feels like more of a sustainable change. I'm not fantasising about "treat" food. I too have hoarded points/ calories in the past for a reward each day/ week. My favourites were Freddos/ Crunchies.

This time nothing - I even went to my favourite bakery over the weekend and bought bread. I wasn't even remotely tempted by my favourite cake.

If this continues maintaining will be really straightforward. I went out and just ate without worrying because I knew the days before and after were going to be fine diet wise.

Long may this continue. Trying to keep my protein intake up is exercising my brain a lot though. I naturally gravitate towards carb heavy stuff. If you have any good protein rich recipes fling them my way.

I have an Oodie, they are brilliant and I wear it all the time in the evenings. The feeling cold side effect is hard for me to judge, as I always run a bit cold compared to others. I have started using an extra blanket in bed, which I didn't before, so definitely feeling a bit more than usual - I'm super toasty in bed now though.

GameOfJones · 18/03/2025 19:40

@Letsgetitdone personally, I'm leaning into the days when I can't face eating as last week the feeling eased off as it got closer to jab day and the day before and day of my jab I ate much more.

I do make myself eat something but don't worry if I can't finish it which has been revolutionary.... previously I always felt like I needed to clear my plate. I just make sure what I do eat is decent nutritionally. E.g. today I had a bowl of bran flakes and added seeds, nuts and raspberries. I only ate half of it so later on had a couple of oatcakes and a chunk of cheese. Tonight I've had wholemeal toast with avocado, sesame seeds, poppy seeds and scrambled egg and didn't finish it all but I know what I have eaten will have done my body some good.

If I really can't face eating or feel like my calories have been way too low then I'll have a protein shake too.

Bipaloss · 18/03/2025 20:03

I took my second dose Sunday too. I have been feeling off and off cold since Thursday but a lot more since yesterday. Also very thirsty (even woke up last night for water) only slight nausea yesterday (had it for 3-4 days last week).

talking about being cold, had to go out with a client (I’m an account manager to make that clear 😆) today for lunch . By the time we reached the place I was shiwering a lot! Didn’t help that the hand dryer blew cold air! Took my glass up to drink and was shaking so much I dropped it on the client! Then got another one to take a sip and spilled on myself ! I was gonna die of embarrassment 🤣🥹 got away with chicken on its own and the portion was huuuuge and with a client I find it polite to finish it , think it took me an hour to finish and still stuffed from it 6 hours later but at least I got a lot of protein fuelled up for a couple of days (still freezing hands despite the massive meal)

BabyHandsRobin · 18/03/2025 20:12

First jab today!

Hoping to lose 39lbs/17kg overall. Receiving the box VERY exciting (although felt a bit like The Substance, for anyone that’s seen that!). Fascinated to see if I can do this, and make healthy choices/drink water (I’m terrible, like a camel hardly drinking) like everyone else seems to be doing! Fingers crossed, this feels like it could be great :)

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 18/03/2025 20:41

Day 2, really good day. Better sleep last night, and didn't have an afternoon slump. I didn't visit the vending machibe, or eat the homemade (delicious) cake in the office, or the chocolates, biscuits etc. Just didn't occur to me

I do think I'm colder than usual, I always run warm, but I had to close a window at work today!
