Welcome to thread 2 never thought we would be posting so much that we have to start a new thread.

I am still hovering around 12 and a half stone. I have been absolutely freezing to the point I have a duvet on the sofa.

I have had one NSV so far I can zip up my boots and they do not feel tight anymore.

I haven't done it (still only on week 2) but I think it would be fine to half the dose. Maybe try the 5mg split into two doses with four or five days in between, so you're building up a bit but not too drastically? But if you're getting good results on 2.5 then no reason to increase the dose.

Is it too late to order a 2.5mg pen and save the 5mg one unopened in the fridge?

That's a great idea...I'll see if I can get a speedy delivery from somewhere!!

GameOfJones · 30/03/2025 20:27

@Wouldratherbewatchingmafs I've also got a 5mg pen but am planning on using it to do 3.75mg and see how I get on with that. But if you can get another 2.5mg pen before you need the 5mg one then that sounds like a great idea.

Bubbless31 · 30/03/2025 20:46

I’ve just done my first injection! Quite excited and quite nervous.
SW 13 stone 3
GW 11 stone.. ish?

I've got a medexpress discount code if you need one... although I suspect almost everyone else on this thread has one too!

Well, having been disappointed with dose 2 and feeling no effects, I think maybe it's kicked in somewhat. I had fish and chips for lunch, on the beach with the family. Managed the whole fish and a few chips. This was about 1.30pm and I have felt completely stuffed ever since. No interest in any other food. Everyone else had tea and cake later in the afternoon but there was nothing I fancied so I opted for a hot chocolate. Drank about a third before deciding it was too sickly.

Today was a planned treat day so I wasn't trying to eat less, but in the end I'm here at 9pm feeling completely stuffed and even though the food I had wasn't very healthy, I didn't even go over my calories!

I'm thinking maybe I actually am getting some effects off dose 2 after all.

Loveab123 · 30/03/2025 21:34

Delaying my jab because I've had a pretty bad weekend with food which I knew was happening due to being treated to Mother's day dinner last night and out with my own mum for lunch today. I haven't overeaten but just not the most healthiest! I hope everyone's had a lovely weekend and thinking of all of you that finds today difficult.

I've heard the best way to try and avoid side effects is to eat healthy the day before/of the jab so plan to do that tomorrow and jab Tuesday.

Twinsandsome · 30/03/2025 22:22

Checking in almost as a record for myself too, second jag done Saturday night.

week one I had jag and on the Sunday felt fine had a bit of sore neck and funny taste in mouth sat night/Sunday but no sickness and on the Sunday had no suppression really. Monday lunchtime I felt awful had terrible cramps in stomach felt I needed toilet but didn’t go and that lasted to the Tuesday. Suppression wise I wouldn’t say it wore off but on the Friday/saturday more so I was mindlessly eating again like
biscuits/chocolate even though I don’t feel I enjoyed them.

Pretty much like for like sat night and tonight as last week though no sore neck this time so I’m dreading the cramps tomorrow if it’s anything like last week!

SW: 13.10lb
CW: 13.5lb

I'm finding Mounjaro quite remarkable so far. I have always alternated between extreme control and terrible binges. Now, the urge to overeat is still there but it's so much duller than before that I have been able to ignore it.

I can shop in supermarkets without the voice in my head screaming at me to eat. It's more like a whisper now. Has anyone else experienced this?

I was just on the cusp of obesity when I started on Wednesday and my BMI is down to just under 29. I have been sticking to 1200-1400 cal/day and walking ~20,000 steps, along with some weights on Friday. I am nervous for the coming days in case it wears off, but hoping will power might get me through that short period if so.

My first NSV that I am looking forward to is getting my exercise bras to fit more comfortably. I bought them when I was about a stone lighter than I am now and it is a squeeze to get into them. I could buy new ones but if the weight keeps coming off I am hoping it won't take long for these to fit.

My ultimate NSV will be to wear my wedding and engagement ring again - I got too fat for them after I gained several stone whilst pregnant. I have yo-yoed back to roughly my wedding weight before but they were always a little tight. Normal weight for me is under 10 stone and I think they will fit at about 9.5 stone

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 31/03/2025 03:25

Just wanted to let you all know what I have managed to eat today.

Breakfast was Smoked Salmon and half a slice of toast (quite a few slices of salmon) I was then taken out for lunch with the kids and I managed 4 King size prawns for starters and then I had Roast beef and veg and managed about 6 mouthfuls.

5mg is the stuff of magic and funnily enough I have not been cold at all which I had a couple of weeks ago.

Wk3 d5 and I've had a rough week with diarrhoea every morning from 4am, very low calories and lack of sleep. It's messed up my mood, my work and my progress. It's not the way I want to lose weight, my face is thinner and my clothes looser but it's not healthy and I've been so tired I haven't been able to do resistance training.

I bought some Imodium yesterday which has stopped things for the time being, and I'm back to a normal eating pattern today, although way off my protein goals.

I'm really hoping this is just a temporary blip. Things were going well, but I'm so disheartened now 😔

I felt the same, had a rough week and just felt so disheartened. I've delayed my next jab whilst i recover a bit and it will either have to be micro dosing for me or I'll have to stop.

I've barely managed to eat some days it's not a good way to diet. Although I can't see how I'm going to shift 5 stone without MJ.

Paulahoust · 31/03/2025 07:50

Loveab123 · 30/03/2025 18:46

When I've had events I've delayed the jab, so it would be 5+ days since I last jabbed, and I've been absolutely fine when drinking. Due to different things I have on my pen will be longer than 30 days in the fridge. I'm not overly worried but I know it's not recommended. It's just a personal choice to do this.

I am going to be 2 days after the 30 days taking my bonus dose as I'm moving my days around but have kept it in thr fridge the whole time so fingers crossed 🤞

I micro dose, for a couple of reasons. I have a (at times) stressful corporate job that requires my full attention plus a toddler to run around after. I can't be unwell or tired so I micro dose to avoid really bad side effects and also so I'm still able to eat for energy. I've lost 5 pounds so far, bit slower than others but I'm happy with it.

taylorswift1989 · 31/03/2025 08:13

The side effects sound absolutely brutal. I'm so sorry to hear that.

I'd be tempted to half the dose and see if that's more tolerable.

There's going to be a third generation of these drugs that are even more effective with fewer side effects so there is hope for the future! There will also be the option to take some of these in tablet form, which might make it easier to tolerate.

I know it doesn't help right now, but if you do end up not being able to take MJ, at least you know there's something else on the way before too long.

That sounds like a good plan to be honest I don't mind slow loss.

Do you do 1.25mg or less?

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 31/03/2025 08:44

@soupforbrains how was your Sunday? Really hope you were OK!

I really feel for those with such drastic side effects. The idea of going up a dose scares me for this reason.

Oldbutnew · 31/03/2025 10:29

Hello. Gosh there are quite a few of you suffering out there.
I took my first injection on Friday morning and have had no side effects at all !
I definitely don't feel hungry and the food noise has pretty much stopped.
Ive realised ive definitely been overeating through habit.
I'm being super super careful with my food though.
I went to The Ivy yesterday as a mothers day treat and forgo a starter, had half my main of sea bass and no dessert. Then in the evening I had half a banana. I was stuffed all day !
Just weighed myself and I've lost 6lb already!
Although I'm aware it's all water in the first few weeks.
Will be interested to see my loss in my first official weigh in on Sat

I'm stunned how good, but full I feel ! This is great so far.

Christmashope19 · 31/03/2025 10:33

Morning
newbie here
took my second jag this morning
lost 4.2lbs in my first week
I am taking my injection on a Monday
yesterday I started to feel really hungry again but went to bed early!
I have around 2 stone that I want to lose
good luck everyone x

MJMabel · 31/03/2025 10:38

Jumping in, having lurked all month!

I’m 2.5 weeks along and have lost 3kg exactly. Steady loss, not losing much it feels, but ho hum, I will persist.

Somehow reluctant to move to 5mg, so have ordered another 2.5mg, this time from oushk as I see this as a long term thing so want to have the maintenance plan option built in.

I will also try to get the bonus dose out of the pen when the time comes.

4’11”
SW 70.0kg
CW 67.0kg
GW 50.0kg

So we are very similar!
I am just a wee touch smaller than you in height with a starting weight of 11 stone

Love this, we can be MJ buddies! 😊

Absolutely I find it so difficult losing weight
And it shows even if I put on a couple of lbs
The joys of being small!

MJMabel · 31/03/2025 11:02

Agreed, although my weight doesn’t seem huge in isolation, I don’t carry it well at all, due to my height.

I piled on weight during Covid and felt really miserable about it but had kind of accepted that this is just how I am now.

I’d thought about weight loss injections for ages, and just one day decided on impulse to go for it. The reduction in food noise is revelatory, and I’m kind of feeling more clear-headed as well, things that would have tipped me over the edge I’m managing better.

TheBossOfMe · 31/03/2025 11:39

W4D4 and I seem to have kicked off weight loss again, it's definitely not linear for me, seems to go slowly for a few days and then bigger drops all of a sudden. Really pleased with the suppression effect even on 2.5mg, I was able to say no to more cake and more chocolate really easily yesterday, just no desire to eat more (wish I could say it had the same effect yesterday on my desire for champagne!)

SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed MJ because of diabetes risk and hideous waist measurement)
CW 9st 9.4lb/135.4lb BMI 23.9 - 9.2lb down, 34.6% of target achieved. (Still overweight because of ethnicity)
GW 8st 6lb/118lb (26.6lb total target loss, 17.4lb to go) BMI 20.9 (low BMI advised as target by doctor)

Loss by week:
W1 5.5lb
W2 1.3lb
W3 0.7lb
W4 1.7lb so far, half way through week

Taking my jab on a Friday rather than a Sunday definitely works best for me, it's the weekends which are usually my downfall.

Me toooo. I'm just about 5 foot high with starting weight of 69kg....short and very chubby lol. Love the support on here, really helps to motivate me :)

Yellowsubmarine55 · 31/03/2025 11:48

First weigh in for me today as second injection tomorrow - 7lbs down so hello 14s

Absolutely thrilled and maybe I can forgive the side effects now 🙂

My main issue is kind of like acid indigestion. So I have my dinner and then about 3 hours later I start feeling sick then I am but nothing food wise comes up so it's all digested and only spit comes out. Not every night and not when I have fish. Apologies it's grim.
