Welcome to thread 2 never thought we would be posting so much that we have to start a new thread.

I am still hovering around 12 and a half stone. I have been absolutely freezing to the point I have a duvet on the sofa.

I have had one NSV so far I can zip up my boots and they do not feel tight anymore.

Finally plucked up and courage and did my first dose last night before bed. So far no side effects other than I did have a bit of neck pain and a funny taste in my mouth. Hunger wise I haven’t noticed a difference yet but it’s not even been 24 hours so it maybe takes time. Really hope this works for me

@Twinsandsome im on day 2 and the first 4-5 hours after injection i also had a horrible taste in my mouth. Shoulder pain was around 16 hours post jab only for a few hours and then appetite suppression started around 20 hours post jab for me. I also felt very nauseous yesterday but today I'm feeling great! They say it takes 8-72 hours to take effects.

Twinsandsome · 23/03/2025 15:32

Thanks @Fatmumslim01 this thread is great especially because I am not telling anyone I’m doing it xx

SpunkyKhakiScroller · 23/03/2025 16:13

I have just done my first injection. I was so scared and have only just managed to convince myself the needle didn't break off. I didn't know it would take so much strength to inject!

Now bracing myself for side effects. Hope for none as I need to be on this for a long time!

I did injection number four this morning. So that has been four injections of 2.5 mg. Next week I am due to step up to 5 mg. I do feel like 2.5 has worked well for me and I can’t decide whether to use my 5 mg pen to dispense 2.5 mg a week, making that pen last two months, or to move up to 5 mg. Is anyone else reasonably happy on 2.5? What are you planning to do as we come to the end of our first month?

BeaTwix · 23/03/2025 16:58

Sorry @soupforbrains .

it’s a crappy time. Thinking of you and your family.

tryingtobesogood · 23/03/2025 17:08

So sorry to hear about your dad @soupforbrains

museumum · 23/03/2025 17:11

I think I I’m same as you @Furryfeline and @BeaTwix though the threads moving a bit fast for me to keep up.
Week 1 I had no real side effects and only very mild suppression but now on w2d4 and had 2-3 days of being unable to eat much at all. Feel nauseous and was even slightly sick yesterday morning when I tried to eat breakfast despite feeling full.

I’ve been away hiking all weekend so was trying to eat for energy but just couldn’t manage much. Thankfully the lack of calories didn’t seem to affect my energy too badly so maybe I am burning fat? Dunno.

Anyway, week 2 so far has been a whole lot more than week 1 so absolutely no thoughts of increasing dose for me yet.

BeaTwix · 23/03/2025 17:27

@tryingtobesogood i’m mid week 2.

undecided about what to do. My nausea has been pretty bad this week which might influence my decision making.

Furryfeline · 23/03/2025 17:49

@museumum , well done hiking ! I feel like I did yesterday, hungry but when I go to eat feel sick, have only had one protein dinky bar, which was nice actually some of them are 🤮 I find. I'm going to eat some chicken and veg, and fingers crossed for rest of week. @Twinsandsome I love this thread because I haven't told any one either. Don't want the judgement.

BVsMum · 23/03/2025 18:23

Took my first jab Friday morning. Had 1 egg and 1 sausage right after and then had a jacket potato with cheese and beans for lunch. I was so full I did not think of food till about 9pm and had a pear.

Saturday I noticed that my usual painful hunger pangs were non existent and had to force myself to eat a pear around midday. I was not hungry at all. My water intake was not great anc ended up having a terrible migraine so I tried to sleep it off and drink more. Was not hungry by dinner time from all the water I had drunk and ended up throwing most of my dinner away.

Todau has been a similar affair: is this what people mean by loss of food noise? It seems I have quickly developed disdain for food.

help is this normal?

Eight8eight · 23/03/2025 18:28

Hi all
This is my first post. I am seven days in and have just administered my second injection. I have been ill over the last week with a cold/flu/ear infection so it has been hard to know if I've had any side effects. Food noise has just gone and it is a true revelation to me! I have tried so many things over the last few years and I always self sabotage a few days/weeks in. I am nervous about any health impacts but excited that this may work for me. I lost 7.7lb in the first week!

When did peoples food Noise go away? I injected round 9pm last night xx

Furryfeline · 23/03/2025 18:48

I injected midday and the food noise had completely disappeared by the next day. Not hungry not interested in food, carried on through the whole first week.

I injected 4pm Fri and food noise went by midday Saturday

@soupforbrains I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your Dad. Be gentle with yourself, be proud of any progress at a very emotionally challenging time, and kind about any slips or challenges that you face. Take care

We are almost starting weight twins. 16st 11lb here wave my goal weight is higher than yours but we will see how I feel when I get there.

RuthEvershedforPM · 23/03/2025 19:10

It’s my 20th wedding anniversary today (would not recommend)

DH booked us Sunday lunch so I skipped dinner last night and breakfast this morning in the hope of being really ravenous. I wasn’t - but did eat it and kind of enjoy it. Though not as much as I think I would have done in real life. Kept thinking about the scales tomorrow - which is ridiculous as I know I in for the long haul with about 25kg to go

BeaTwix · 23/03/2025 19:11

@Twinsandsome loss of food noise was pretty instantaneous for me.

so much so I thought it was psychosomatic.

usually on a diet I spend my whole time planning treats. In fact often my reward for losing weight has been chocolate ! (I know how bonkers this sounds).

since I started MJ there are treats in my house sitting uneaten and on several days I’ve not eaten the more indulgent bits of my lunch as I’ve simply been too full.

Quite simply if this is what my naturally slim friends live with normally I’m not remotely surprised they stay slim!!

I think you can only use the pens for 30 days once you have done your first injection. I've ordered a 5mg pen for the next one but am planning to do 3.75mg for a while out of that one because I'm worried about side effects.

So far after injection number 3 the effect seems stronger. I had a sandwich at lunchtime and felt hungry mid afternoon so had some pretzel bites then it came to dinnertime and I couldn't face eating. I had zero appetite but made myself have a small portion of meat and veg for the nutrients. I'm not normally like this until Mon/Tue so it seems to have kicked in earlier this week but I suppose it's building up in my system.

RuthEvershedforPM · 23/03/2025 19:12

I am normally quite am all or nothing person, so am hoping one meal doesn’t turn to sabotage! I must have a clean and healthy breakfast in the morning

BeaTwix · 23/03/2025 19:12

@GameOfJones i think if you keep it in the fridge they shelf life is longer after opening.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 23/03/2025 19:13

I've just taken the 2nd dose of 2.5. I didn't weigh this morning as was away for the weekend, so will weigh tomorrow a.m. instead. I am so far having very limited side effect, I hope this continues! And have definitely changed my way of eating, not even realising sometimes that I've just not snacked.

I've done 2 long walks this weekend which I'm pleased to say I found easy, I was pretty energised snd think my pace was up from normal.

Pipsballoon · 23/03/2025 19:16

Hi all,
Week 4 injection done, and I think I might be experiencing a slight increase in nausea as the weeks add up, but nothing I can't handle. I'm also not as cold as I was in the first two weeks, and suppression is consistent and food noise fully eliminated, with no other symptoms to report.

Still finding 2.5 works very well for me (wish I had ordered another 2.5 instead of 5mg), so considering counting clicks to administer 3.75mg over the coming weeks, if I can stay on this voodoo magic potion. I say that because I have a medical appointment this week to do with my thyroid and am anticipating/dreading being told to stop injecting for now. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen!
