Welcome to thread 2 never thought we would be posting so much that we have to start a new thread.

I am still hovering around 12 and a half stone. I have been absolutely freezing to the point I have a duvet on the sofa.

I have had one NSV so far I can zip up my boots and they do not feel tight anymore.

@Choirgirl699 let us know if the hard twist works! Apparently the manufacturer changed the pen design recently so it’s not been working for some people and you need a syringe to get it out.

Yes, I'd read that as well. This pen is from December so we shall see. Not keen on going down the syringe route, not sure why...

Will update next week!

Im week 2 day 2 and I am hungry but when I actually go to eat , I get a nauseated feeling. It's weird, last week I just didn't feel very hungry and ate small meals, this week, I do feel hungry but sick, so I'm eating less, have hardly eaten in two days. Prefer the first week even though the weight is dropping off. See what next week brings eh.

I think I was panicking needlessly. Back to feeling so full I am struggling to eat my calorie goal.

I hope the nausea settles for you

BeaTwix · 22/03/2025 20:38

@Furryfeline me too - week 2 day 3 today. Feeling very sick.

I'm actually not sure if I feel hungry I just feel grotty. I've been forcing myself to eat and trying to go for high protein options e.g nuts as a snack earlier, chicken and salad for dinner but I didn't even touch the salad.

I've got the other half of my delicious tray bake from last night and am not remotely interested in touching it. Or a yogurt. Or anything really.

I'm a bit worried about the effect on my body of such a low calorie intake - I've only managed around half of the calories I should be eating for my weight this week.

Hopefully this too will pass. If it doesn't I'm sticking to 2.5 for my next pen!

Hello! I took my first 2.5 dose this morning and feel so spaced out! I feel like I dropped half an e or something. Dry mouth, light headed, happy. Anyone else feel that way?

Had a Premier Inn breakfast this morning and actually left food on my plate. Has never happened before! Hoping that this is a good sign for things to come. Only slightly worried that I feel like I've wandered out of a nineties rave...

I know what you mean! I have felt like this some days. It will pass I’m sure.

Ive eaten a bit more but still ok today.
Yoghurt & raspberries
small chicken salad
Small pasta bolognaise (mostly meat)
snacks - pear & actimel.

i did 45 mins weights

feeling a bit constipated so need to get that moving!

MateusMeMe · 23/03/2025 07:54

Took my first jab at 5pm on Wed and so far have felt no different at all…no sick feeling, no headache, no change in feeling hungry (was ravenous yesterday) and no sensation of any appetite suppression. Also no change in the scale so far. I have been eating quite healthily but was doing so before I started this for a couple of weeks. Also reading people’s stories I do wonder how much people convince themselves they are going to feel a certain affect (positive or negative) and then “talk” themselves into this feeling…. The mind is very powerful! (But not been able to use this myself!) Hope things change for me…. NB I tried Ozempic previously and got 3 pens in and never felt different so gave up due to the cost…. Hoping this wld be different. Thinking of taking second dose early, then trying to use extra dose as required and also ordering my second pen early & trying to go to a higher dose after 3 weeks instead of 4?
is anyone else experiencing this lack of change, I’m hoping they are & have just kept quiet as a bit hard reading the endless stream of positive stuff ….even though I am genuinely pleased for you all! Just a tad jealous. Btw I’m 5ft 4 and 200lbs so I do have weight to lose!

taylorswift1989 · 23/03/2025 08:09

I don't think you should mess about with the doses, @MateusMeMe . It's a powerful drug and I think it's a risk to mess around with it. The 2.5 mg dose is meant to 'onboard' you and it will slowly build up in your body, so it may be that you will start to feel the effects soon. Or maybe you will need to be on 5mg to feel the effects, but you need to complete the initial period of low dose first so you don't get horrendous side effects on the higher dose.

I just think when side effects are potentially so serious, you don't mess around! You could talk to your GP/provider maybe and see what they say?

I get the impatience and wanting to get things moving and I'm also having to remind myself this is a marathon, not a sprint! MJ is an experiment on myself - I hope it works to help my weight loss and health but it might not and it might make me ill so I need to be patient and cautious. I hope you start feeling some effects soon!

Peebee19 · 23/03/2025 08:09

Hi lovely ladies, I’ve just got my blood test kit and had the call with shemed yesterday.
I really don’t want to go ahead now and just wondering if I will be able to cancel this .
Is this possible? I haven’t se t the bloods back yet.

Thanks

SmallSoupcon · 23/03/2025 08:11

W2 d5 for me and I've had a rubbish couple of days with very low calories, but I've learned some things too.

On Friday I really couldn't face eating for some reason, slept quite a bit. Yesterday I went to a cafe while my son was at a club and thought I'd go for some scrambled eggs on white toast with a coffee, but really wish I hadn't because I got the runs and sulphur burps all day. Not fun! The white bread was the first processed food I've had since starting, so I'm wondering if that was the trigger. Mind you, the scrambled eggs were not good, really overcooked, so that could be why.

So what did I learn? That I need to stick with my planned 3 meals a day of whole foods, and if I go off piste there might be consequences. I really don't want to repeat the last couple of days, and I'm aiming for 1500ish cals a day, so it's back to the routine for me!

Is anyone else off strong flavours?

Flipper1234 · 23/03/2025 08:13

Morning all… been v quiet this week as haven’t been well, spent a lot of the week asleep so no exercise done. Feeling a little better this morning and have a deep relaxation and sound bath booked.

I’ve been reading but not posting (not a lot to say when you spend the week in bed!)… fab news on all the losses and positivity here. @MateusMeMe so sorry to hear you’ve found no difference. Who’s your provider, is it worth asking them about increasing doses early?

Fourth injection for me today - moving to 5mg next week.

SW 191lb
Week 1 loss 6lb
Week 2 loss 2.5lb
Week 3 loss 2lb
CW 180.5lb

Loss so far 10.5lb

Very pleased to see the scales read 12 stone something even if it’s only a smidge under 13.

PoundsLost · 23/03/2025 08:19

Mateumeme - I don’t have any change either but I’m calorie counting and eating lots of protein. I think stick with it and go up the doses and protein does make you less hungry so that will help.

I ate plenty yesterday and drank a lot of wine so I really can’t say I feel a thing but just trying to stick mostly to eggs, soups, lean meat and fish and green veg.

soupforbrains · 23/03/2025 08:23

I’ve not had a chance to keep up with the thread this week. I lost my dad on Wednesday night. Which has been awful but on the more mundane side side it’s also screwed up my lovely diet. My siblings and I have been eating with my mum and so dinner out on Thursday at the local pub which has basically no healthy options, plus a chippie tea on Friday etc. mum is grieving by feeding people cake too.

anyway, I still managed to lose 3lb so weighing in yesterday was;

end of week 3
SW: 19st10
CW: 18st9
GW: 11st10

i am once again hoping to avoid my day after injection side effects.

on the last thread someone mentioned microdosing and I think it could be the solution for me but what are you doing about needle tips?! Where are you getting the extras to be able to inject 2-3 times a week?

cmh18 · 23/03/2025 08:23

I'm going away for a few days this week and worried about side effects ruining it, today is jab day (3rd one) amd I'm thinking of just doing 1.25, has anyone else done this?

Justformounjaro · 23/03/2025 09:35

I am sorry to hear about your Dad @soupforbrains, it will be a difficult time for you Flowers

I’ve just ordered these needle tips https://www.chemist-4-u.com/carepoint-pen-needles-31g-4mm-pack-of-100 (and these syringes https://ukmedi.co.uk/products/fms-micro-syringe-32g-8mm-1ml-fms-fms-32g-10ml-ukmedi-co-uk to do a golden dose). Both products have been recommended on previous Mounjaro threads.

Hi, sorry your not feeling the effects yet. I definitely do not think it's about convincing yourself. I took first dose Friday and for me I felt the effects within about 4 hours and had a headache all evening. The hunger noise absolutely disappeared and I went for a meal, had a salad and couldn't eat it all. I have felt hungry since but it's not out of control, where I was before. Maybe you just need a higher does or a few more weeks before it gets into your system. I have everything crossed for you.
I haven't eaten as much as I feel more in control but I have to say there is willpower there too. I wish I didn't feel the hunger pangs. I want to go back to how I was feeling day 1

ANewStartIn20225 · 23/03/2025 09:55

On my fourth week now and not feeling any suppression but I do generally feel like eating healthy foods and a bit less snacking. Have lost about 2 kg so not loads so will be going up to 5mg. No side effects except tiredness. Also having trouble with running, which is weird. Anyway just wanted to reassure that not all of us are getting massive suppression and weight loss. But I feel good and positive and happy that changes are being made for the better.

soupforbrains · 23/03/2025 09:56

I think sometimes prosper forget that all of these weight loss injections are providing hormones which in SOME people either aren’t produced or are produced at lower levels. If you already produce ‘normal’ levels of the hormones then these injections will make no difference at all to some aspects. (MJ will still slow down your digestive processes etc.) just as some people feel the effects strongly at a very low dose (those are the people whose bodies are naturally not producing the hormones at all). And it’s a sliding scale with people all along it.

MJ/ozempic/we give etc etc. simply won’t work for everyone.

GameOfJones · 23/03/2025 09:59

@soupforbrains sorry to hear about your dad 💐

And sorry to those that have been feeling unwell. Hope everyone is feeling much better very soon.

Bipaloss · 23/03/2025 10:28

Weekly jab and weigh in day

didn’t expect 2.9 loss as a daily weigher scale was moving in the wrong direction in start of week, but this happened also last week that the weigh suddenly drops off last two days.

I have decided I’m gonna order 5mg on my next pen which I will be starting 2 weeks from now.

got 4lb to have lost a st and that’s my first goal to achieve ,which I will try for in the next couple of weeks.

SW 115.0 kg (18.1st)

Week 1 loss 2.3 kg (4.8 lb)
Week 2 loss 1.3 kg (2.9 lb)

CW 111.5 (17.5 st)
Loss so far 3.5 kg/7.7 lb

GW 75 Kg/ 11.8 st

TheBossOfMe · 23/03/2025 10:43

W3D3 - very little weight loss this week but it's been a super busy work and social week with lots of eating out and booze. `Even though I've been eating small portions when out, it's much harder to eat a proper balanced diet and the calories can be harder to track. So just pleased I didn't gain.

SW 10st 4.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed because of diabetes risk)
CW 9st 11.8 BMI 24.4 - 6.8lb down
GW 8st 6lb BMI 20.9 (advised as target by doctor)

I'm microdosing and doing 1.25 as my usual dose.

TryForSpring · 23/03/2025 11:09

I'm microdosing and doing 1.25 as my usual dose.

I might try this, do you still lose weight doing this?

TryForSpring · 23/03/2025 11:48

Yes, @cmh18. I got good suppression on 1.25mg the first time I took it, so haven't increased dose. Not everyone will have that experience ofc. You could split your dose into 1.25 before your trip and another 1.25 4 days later?

dancemom · 23/03/2025 12:17

Jab and weigh day here, three weeks down

Two pounds off this week, happy with that

SW 183lbs
TW 170lbs
GW 150lbs

Suppression is still good for me so I’m planning on attempting a golden dose next week and just sticking with 2.5mg for the next pen.

Going to stay with med express if they price match, will look into this today.

Overjiggly · 23/03/2025 14:20

Sorry for your loss @soupforbrains 💐

Well done to all the loses 👏 I wonder how much we've lost between us already

Fatmumslim01 · 23/03/2025 14:36

Oh @soupforbrains I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm pleased to say I'm feeling alot better today on day 2.

The lack of food noise is so weird I feel like there's so much more space in my head it's oddly freeing!

I took DC to McDonald's earlier for lunch and actually couldn't believe that I only had a (grilled) wrap and was satisfied, in fact I couldn't finish it. Normally I'd get like a big Mac or something and be picking at the kids chips etc but it's like the nicer food just doesn't enter my thoughts now. So weird.

I had a sobering realisation today, I know I've got 4-5 stone to lose to be a healthy BMI and I know Im in this for the long haul. Today my son got weighed "for fun" and he's 4stone10. That's the amount of weight I've got to lose a whole child. The irony of course is that I can barely lift him it feels so heavy but of course that's what I'm carrying around all day every day.

Onwards and downward!
