Hi,

Anyone on WLI and in the slow lane v. welcome here for a bit of plodding supportive chat!

Plodders, bobbers, plateau-ers, stallers and stuck ducks come on in! Would be great to chat with others who are in the same boat, ie travelling at the speed of snails on their WL journey.

I have a mountain to move (nearly 5 st), am not ready to give up on Mounjaro yet and would love a bit of company here on this long haul to reach a healthy BMI. 🦥 🐌 🏔️

Come join me if you have a long way to go (either due to slow losses or amount to lose) and would like some peer support to keep going when the scales are being stubborn. It’s hard being on WLI when it’s not working as well for you and progress is slow or stalled. This is a safe space to share anything, the good, the bad and the side effecty. Anything positive (scale or non scale related) as well as freedom to vent and grumble as much as you want

If you taking WLI and trucking along nicely or nearly at your goal weight that is fantastic but please post on a different thread.

I don’t eat a lot of bread (and I use Marmite for stirring into soup for example) but if I do, I like the seedy stuff - Jackson’s usually.

Although one of life’s great mysteries is why bread and toasters seem to only be made by people who have never seen the other product. It’s the only explanation for why bread almost never fits in a toaster.

Oo I like the soup idea, will try that 👍 Haha yes you’re right about toasters! I’ve had the Jackson’s before and had forgotten that’s a nice one, have only found it in Waitrose and not in there often so must remember to pick some up next time

Hmmm, I’ve been happier on my accidentally higher dose this week, so think it might be time to move up and with any luck actually shift a few more pounds.

last time I went up I didn’t feel good, low mood and poor appetite. My mood seems ok now, which may coincide with taking Vit D as well, who knows!

anyway, lost and kept off the Xmas weight. Trying to see that as a positive

bread doesn’t agree with me anymore. It sort of ferments in my stomach so I don’t eat it much now.

It’s definitely a positive! Well done.

PlodAlongPolly · 09/02/2026 11:00

Definitely a positive @0ncemorewithfee1ing ! Well done on losing the Christmas weight and keeping it off and is a good point on the vitamin D, has reminded me to take it! I also think it helps my mood when I remember to have it! I know what you mean about the bread, I have less than before but lack ideas about what to have sometimes. Feeling uninspired about food so am going to aim to plan a bit better this week and work through some stuff in the freezer.

Also need to drink more water, does anyone else feel like they’re worse with this when the weather is cold?

I am generally really poor with drinking anywhere near enough water @PlodAlongPolly But yes, when it’s cold it’s even less appealing. I do have jasmine tea when it’s cold though which definitely ticks the water box.

Grecianrainbow · 09/02/2026 12:47

Hi fellow plodders, I’ve hit the 4st loss mark in 13 months now, and it feels unbelievable. I think I still have up to another one to go - I’m fitting in what is now a 12 trousers but is the same size as a 14 I have from about 10 years ago. But I have found some vinted bargains to help my wardrobe out so that’s ok. I don’t want to feel too skinny - and I’m signed up to the gym so want to get strong. More muscle to help maintaining I think is the way to go.

Beachcomber74 · 09/02/2026 20:04

@Grecianrainbow Bravo great loss!! Lovely getting Vinted stuff. A very slim colleague said Snap as we both wore same trousers today it’s great being able to wear stuff that is more fashionable.
However I made mistake making millionaire shortbreads for kids party & have eaten 4 and feel really guilty!! I wasn’t hungry & didn’t particularly enjoy them but feel really annoyed for coming off bandwagon!!

BackToWegovy · 11/02/2026 12:00

First week on 0.5mg. Feeling slightly sick in the mornings but nothing too bad. Not really losing any weight but hey ho, not really gaining any either.

tryingtobesogood · 13/02/2026 19:12

Well it’s a disaster, second week on 10mg and the stomach issues are just too much. I’m so fed up. I am going to titrate down, using this last pen up and call it a day.

It’s been great, I’ve lost weight and feel better but I just can’t cope with this constant gripping stomach, rushing to the loo or not going at all and the pain.

I do have more pens in the fridge if I decide to come back after a break. But it’s affecting my quality of life. I’ve also been so cold, and struggled to sleep.

Deadringer · 13/02/2026 19:35

Hi all, my weight loss stalled in November and again in December, gained a couple of pounds over Christmas despite moving up to 10mg, and feeling really fed up overall, but I finally feel I am back on track having lost 3 pounds in the last 3 weeks. I am 3 stone down now, one more to go!

AlmostStoppedII · 14/02/2026 11:31

@tryingtobesogood I'm sorry 🙁That really sucks after having such a positive week last week. Maybe a break is what your body needs - it sounds like the right move for now.

Great that things are moving again for you now @Deadringer ! Congratulations on hitting 4 st off @Grecianrainbow !

My campaign of zero alcohol drinking in the house seems to be working - well I am going to assign it to that anyway. Finally broken new ground - last time I hit a new low was boxing day! Also, had 3 consecuative weeks sub 30 BMI so I am going to declare myself officially overweight rather than obese (4th time lucky).

Half term for me (teacher) so the plan is to move several things on a notch - finally! The main things is to get myself off the excessive ipad/internet time habit - it is really keeping me stuck. Tough love!

That just sounds miserable, how rotten. Have you tried or thought of trying Wegovy to see whether you get the same side effects?

Wow, we’re going to have to chuck you out of the Plodders’ Club at this rate! 😆

Deadringer · 14/02/2026 17:52

3 stone in nearly a year, I think i am safe! 😂

Elboob · 15/02/2026 16:23

Hi can i join the gang late?
Im over a year on MJ and only lost 16.8kg. (zero effect until 7.5mg). Now been on 12.5mg since end of August and loss has stalled (am the same weight i was end of Nov after a Christmas gain). 😭

Last night i had a greasy takaway (chinese food) with no stop signal. I spent all night with terrible bloating, D&V and sulphur burps. This happened before after overeating 1.5 days after taking the jab. It is so utterly awful. I was awake from 3am til 8am shivering, in pain and vomiting.
So i dont want to go up a dose but i want to keep losing.
Ive read lots of this thread. Will up my water drinking. I do exercise classes 3-4 times a week. Urg. I feel so wreched today.

Beachcomber74 · 16/02/2026 00:06

@Elboob welcome!! How much more do you have to lose?
I know that feeling eating through the barriers & not really caring about side effects & then when they come crashing in feeling so fed up. Hope tomorrow can be a fresh start.

Elboob · 16/02/2026 13:22

@Beachcomber74 I don't know what you mean about eating throught the barriers. I didn't feel full, no signal to stop eating. Not that I pushed past feeling full and deal with it. (Is that what you mean?)
But I've lost just under 3 stone (in a year) and am at BMI 30.1 so have another 2.5 stone to go to be a size 12-14

anothercortisolqueen · 16/02/2026 14:03

I gave up and stopped my jab 6 weeks ago due to it simply not working for me. Since then I’ve gained 7lbs and weigh more than I did when I started !! Have been ravenous though so training my brain again, plus I’ve have a hysterectomy and am not on oestrogen only so my body is coming to terms with a lot currently, but the urge to ‘just try again’ is so real ! I’m so sad about it all.

Elboob · 16/02/2026 14:12

@anothercortisolqueen How long had you been taking it and what dose were you up to? I had ZERO suppression until dose 7.5mg

PlodAlongPolly · 20/02/2026 13:05

Hi! Just popping on for a quick hello as just heading out but will come back this evening for a proper catch up and welcome to new joiners 🩷 x

Well done on the 4st mark @Grecianrainbow that’s really great progress! 🌟

It’s understandable coming off the bandwagon for millionaires shortbread @Beachcomber74! I know what you mean about not having much enjoyment though, I get the same but yet still find myself picking up things like this particularly when tired.

@BackToWegovy Hows it going on the 0.5? I’m still in stall territory atm and reasoning that maintaining is still good, here hoping losses will pick up soon

So sorry you’ve been having it rough @tryingtobesogood 😢 it definitely sounds like taking a break is what your body needs. I found even the short break I had was so nice to not have gastric SE a while. Please feel free to keep posting on here even if you stop WLI for support as long as you like 🌸

@Deadringer that’s great things have started to shift again and congratulations on hitting 3 stone! 1 more is totally doable! Lol I agree we don’t need to kick you out! 😂

Well done on breaking that ground @AlmostStoppedII and back into overweight ! 🙌 How has you half term week gone? Our house is upside down here 😂 need to get things sorted for back to school tomorrow, cramming homework!

Hi @Elboob 👋 and lovely to have you join us! I’m so sorry you had an awful time after the Chinese 😥 Do you think it might possibly have been food poisoning? Just how you described getting the shivers with it, so awful and sorry you went through that. How’s it going now? Are you sticking with 12.5 for now? I’m also in the middle of an epic stall.. 🐌 hoping for some kind of spring boost when the sun makes a reappearance!

That is so hard @anothercortisolqueen to echo what @Elboob said, I also had next to no suppression until the high doses. I hope you’re doing ok, have you decided to have another go or keep off the jabs and try something else? Sending hugs and please feel free to keep posting here 💐 x

OP posts:
Elboob · 22/02/2026 16:32

@PlodAlongPolly i am pretty sure its not food poisoning as i had exactly the same reaction in November after eating a lot of cakes one night. Then i thought i had food poisoning but this was identical, time of night, the cramping, the gas and vomiting and then sleeping half the day. Too simiar to be not the same thing - overeating 24 hours after my jab.
Im sticking on 12.5mg though and going to try to eat well ... I really want to lose this next 2 stone.

How much do you have to lose now?

tryingtobesogood · 22/02/2026 22:29

@PlodAlongPolly thank you for that, I will pop in and see how everyone is doing and catch up.

I have stopped completely. I decided to skip my dose last week to bring the level in my system down and was going to inject 5mg for a few weeks and see how that went but in the early hours of Saturday morning, I had a very violent attack of sickness. I’ve never experienced anything like it, everything I eaten the day before was still sat in my stomach when I went to bed.. My body hadn’t digested any food and I spent the night feeling very ill before it all came back in the early hours. This is the second time this has happened in the last month.

So I’ve made the decision that I need a break, I can’t carry it on like this. It’s such a shame because MJ has helped so much in getting me started and losing weight. I’ve lost 2 1/2 stone, and would never have been able to do that without the injections. But the weight loss has slowed to almost nothing, combined with horrible side effects. It just doesn’t feel like it is for me anymore.
