@myladyjane I too love bright trainers/footwear. I’m very good at treating myself to lovely skincare/hair products and nice makeup, shoes and bags.

Those are all things that are easy to buy when you’re fed up with your size aren’t they, it’s like at least I can be happy with my hair and skin, if not size 🙃.

Must be a thing! I bought a pair of bright red trainers from New Look last week when I took my daughter to find trainers for her! I have giant wide feet so it's rare I can find anything to fit in a 'normal' range

BlueLimes · 28/02/2025 15:23

@DareDevil223 amazing - people must be so proud of you.

@JoanCollinsDiva same - love skinny jeans and a nice top, I’m sticking with it, we can get some lovely new jeans and summery tops. New flip flops / birkies. I’m planning on new sunglasses as a reward when I lose 2 stone.

Jins · 28/02/2025 15:26

Shot 8 complete and I had the luxury of it being done by someone else. DH is very well practiced at these things and seeing as he’s sitting around doing nothing I gave him a job 🤣

discoballv · 28/02/2025 15:46

Those who were talking about their too small clothes now being outdated and not knowing what to wear - I used to watch a really good series on TikTok of a woman who would do a side by side of classic looks from maybe 5-10 years ago and show how to do a version of the same thing which was more up to date. It was so good! I'll have to see if I can find it.

So for example, the classic 2010's skinny jeans, ankle boots, nice top, blazer dressy look - she would show how to do the 'same' look but a slightly different silhouette and it made such a difference to making it look current, but only with subtle changes.

But I'm also of the opinion that if you like something and it suits you then wear what you want!

HeavyHeidi · 28/02/2025 15:57

@discoballv I don't have issues with clothes being outdated. It's just that, for example, I discovered that I look really good in long skirts and draped tops. Way more flattering on me than short pencil skirts and buttoned shirts. So I don't want to wear the pencil skirts any more, even if they are otherwise nice and classical.

MananaMananaPenelope · 28/02/2025 16:23

I think it’s great that you know what looks good @HeavyHeidi , I don’t think I have got a clue tbh. I’m really pale with dark hair and wear a lot of navy and burgundy, not so much black. I tend to like Cos type styling and have moved away from formal anything apart from for work.

I actually had a dream last night that I was in a shop buying my usual Cos T-shirts in every colour in a size medium and was 😭 because I had to throw all my XLs away 😂. As if.

I've just switched to Juniper for my second pen and it arrived today with the Juniper scale. I was looking forward to the scale as it measures other things such as body fat %. The trouble is, it shows me as exactly 2kg more than I other scales. I don't know how to check which is most accurate, but was hoping to use the new ones to track. I know I've still lost the same amount of weight either way, but it just feels like I have to lose those 2kgs again which feels like a blow psychologically. And I'm that much further away from my goal. 😔

That is annoying! I have the juniper scales too so I've just gone and weighed myself on my old rotary scales to test your theory and you're right - they weigh me 3lbs lighter than the juniper ones and another digital set I have (weight watchers ones) weight me at 2lbs lighter than the juniper ones!! 🤷‍♀️ So who the hell knows which are correct?! I think il just stick to the juniper ones as they're paired with my iPad and tracking my weight so I have that handy little graph which is going in a pleasingly downward trend.
i also had no idea the juniper ones calculate fat etc as I'm too lazy and never read the leaflets for things.

Just had a small NSV - I saw a nice top in the window in a designer boutique town and went in to try it on. They only had a small - and it fit! Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's vanity sizing however Il take it 😂 it was nice to buy something new after refusing to buy anything for so long as it made me too depressed having to buy in bigger sizes that I really couldn't reconcile myself with having expanded into. I also really need some new jeans but il go to next or somewhere for them as this particular shop only seemed to sell ones that are £300+ 😬

Agree - I think I'm past the stage of being bothered about what's "in", il stick with my skinnies. Dd 19 tells me they're coming back in anyway 😂 who can keep up?

Changingnameagain · 28/02/2025 18:11

Thanks for the new thread DGonMJ!
Congratulations to all those with losses.
I'm on week 9 now and did my second 3.75mg jab on my usual Thursday evening.
Last week I had a skin reaction come up at injection site. Really red, hot and itchy

I've had the same today after last night's jab although area not as big and not itchy just res because I took anti histamine after the jab and will take another one this evening. I contacted Zava who said it can happen and take anti histamine and only seek medical attention if my throat starts closing up basically. Reassuring....
So Last Thursday I was 18st1
By Saturday I was 18st4
Yesterday I was 18st1 so no loss and I'm feeling a bit short changed tbh by 3.75mg so far. The suppression is good though
I have had really dry mouth again like when I first began 2.5mg which has been annoying to deal with.
Got 2 weekends now of birthday celebrations and drinking coming up so nit feeling too hopeful about any losses heading my way. I was so hoping to be in 17st bracket by my birthday.

Has anyone else had any skin reactions at injection site when moving up?

@Jins well done on putting him to work.

@JoanCollinsDiva that is such a good feeling.

@MananaMananaPenelope I had my colours done by house of colour as a 40th birthday pressie - some years ago now;) in some ways it was great. I can really tell the difference when I wear my colours.

The issue I have is I turned out to be a bright spring - think turquoise, bubble gum pink, coral. The only neutral which properly suited me was rich chocolate brown (which may be around now but hasn't been for years) and French navy which is bloody impossible to find. Throw in an awkward body shape (short, busty, very short waisted and apron tum) and clothes shopping at any weight is a trial! That's why I prefer the trainers!

It is fun to do though and helps with stuff like make up and how to pull together stuff that goes together - like @HeavyHeidi says. Maybe have it as a treat when you hit a goal?

DGonMJ · 28/02/2025 18:26

Excellent losses, losers!

@myladyjane so pleased you’re feeling brighter today.

NSV - I noticed I’ve been using the tightest fastening on my new bras this week. I only bought them about 4 weeks ago, I went from 36 to 34. I started off using the widest or middle fastening, cutting into a lot of squishy back fat. 4 weeks later and back fat not so squishy and I’ve had to tighten the bras up!

Juniper finally cancelled my subscription. But left me with a £50 voucher if I want to go back. Oushk is still £60 cheaper on the 5mg with no flash sale discount so it’s unlikely I’ll go back there. I want to see where I get to in 4 weeks time before ordering again. My first 5mg pen turns up next week, I’m expecting I’ll want a second 5mg pen…but want to see how the first one goes. I’m at 26 Bmi and I’ve lost a lot of weight off my face already, people at work are commenting. They’re not saying, you look like you’ve lost weight, they’re saying ‘your face looks more angular’.

In an ideal world I’d like to convert my body fat into muscle from here on, and maybe only lose another 5kg. But I don’t feel confident enough to do it without MJ. I think the hunger would return and I’d eat and eat and eat.

Thank you so much, it is a strange thing to have lost more than a whole MN teeny tiny! I was wearing size 10 jeans yesterday (yeah I know, vanity sizing etc but SIZE FREAKING 10!) I have a 28inch waist. I have kept a pair of H&M XL jeans that weren't even from my heaviest weight just to remind myself how far I've come.

I wish I could have done this in my 30s not 50s but I try not to waste my time with regrets. I am where I am now and it's a good place to be. I wish the same for everyone on these threads.

Amazing! How long did it take?? My BMI is a similar 40 something.

RosaBaby2 · 28/02/2025 18:37

Good evening ladies.

I have lost 6lbs this week, so 29lb total since 27th Dec, 6 lbs off is loads for me because normally midweek I've lost a ton and then on my jab and weigh day I've only lost 1 or 2.

I'm on 5mg but the bonus dose didn't work (one of the pens that doesn't hack) and I can't do the other needles they scare me 😂 ended up doing 3 seperate jabs fiddling with the plunger each time and hopefully just about worked out the right amount going in!

I have one more 5mg pen and the a 7.5 waiting in the fridge. Feeling positive at the moment but that can all change in the blink of an eye.

Have a nice weekend!

There are a couple of excellent unofficial hoc spring groups which you may find some inspiration in. Hoc has an official one too but the unofficial ones are much better.

HeavyHeidi · 28/02/2025 19:24

I haven't got an official analysis but I'm a very typical summer, really not hard to figure it out. So now when shopping, I can just ignore anything in colours that won't suit me anyway, makes it easier.

Therealmetherealme · 28/02/2025 19:36

Oh I'd love to have my colours done. I've no idea what I am.

HeavyHeidi · 28/02/2025 19:50

there are plenty of apps nowadays you can try. I tried one and it agreed with my own opinion.

DareDevil223 · 28/02/2025 20:17

@RosaBaby2 it's taken about 2 and half years, this includes some breaks when there was a big shortage of medication and some periods when I wanted to slow it down and embed my new habits. So, I could have done it faster.

I heavy weight train and do yoga and spin so I'm pretty active. very single aspect of my life has changed for the better.

You can do it!

Ireolu · 01/03/2025 01:17

Injection tmrw will be wk 7.
Reordered today have decided to stick to 5mg.
So far 8kg have come off. Lots of weight to lose so not markedly noticeable. Slowly but surely.

MananaMananaPenelope · 01/03/2025 06:50

Morning everyone, I’ve become a daily weigher, no idea why I’m getting so hung up on this, but I am, I’ve lost again today. I’m not doing anything differently, still aiming for 7000 calls a week.

What is happening? Is this what a build up of MJ (had five doses of 2.5 over six weeks) does for some people?

I’ve now gone beyond the 2-3 kg I’ve lost and gained for 2 years.

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 28/02/2025 07:03

@LillethCrane Take measurements too!
The one week my weight stayed the same, I'd actually lost an inch from my waist and half an inch from my hips.
Every week on weigh day I measure my waist, hips, arm and thigh.
Scales aren't the only way to check progress, especially as women's weight can fluctuate so much with hormones etc.

Such a good idea. I wish I’d taken measurements at the start, but I’ll take some today and go from here!

I’ve no idea on your question, but well done that’s fab!

HeavyHeidi · 01/03/2025 07:49

I started to weigh daily but need to stop that. Compared to yesterday, put on 400gr. Of course I can't put on 400gr of fat overnight, it's just the food I ate yesterday, but I think I'll stick to weekly weigh-ins, at least there has usually been some downward trend.
Made a massive salad yesterday, all healthy, miso-soy dressing so nothing fattening there either. And this one I could eat in a reasonable amount without feeling stuffed. But later, DH was having some ice cream for dessert, ice cream is normally my weakness, but now I genuinely didn't even want to taste it.

SteveHarringtonsHair · 01/03/2025 07:51

Good morning everyone. And well done to all for some fabulous losses.

Week 7 for me today.
Third 5mg jab.
My symptoms have calmed down immeasurably this week thank goodness. I think I’ve figured out that fizzy drinks don’t help relieve the burp situation but in fact make it worse. I’d been drinking soda water thinking it was helping 🙄

Hope everyone has a great week. Good luck to us all.
