@MananaMananaPenelope I need to thank you for the psyllium husk recommendation. Whilst not constipated I do struggle a bit with fibre. These have made my mornings bright and sunny.

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 28/02/2025 09:51

A couple of people mentioned kibbe - what is it?

I was amused (kinda) to see at least one person feeling sad yesterday about ‘only’ losing 1lb. Whereas I was pleased/relieved with my largest loss of 1lb! I’d set myself a target of half a stone a month but it’s clear that I’m not going to ever achieve that - in nearly 6 weeks I’ve lost 5lbs. Maybe going up to 7.5 in a couple of weeks will help.

But big congrats to everyone who is already seeing a difference in how they look and feel.

HeavyHeidi · 28/02/2025 10:12

@0ncemorewithfee1ing KIbbe is a style guru of a sort who categorised women into a number of types and has some recommendations what works and doesn't work for them. Not a bible, but I did find it helpful in reealising why certain items of clothing that look good on some other people never seemed to be quite right on me.

@myladyjane - brilliant loss, well done. Our 1lbs and 1 ½ lbs will add up by the summer.

Psyllium Husk is fab, I've learned that one solgar magnesium citrate tablet produces results in about half an hour in the last week or so.

TicTac80 · 28/02/2025 10:24

@MananaMananaPenelope, I bit the bullet and ordered some Mag citrate :D Let's see how it goes. I'm hoping it will help with energy levels too. :)

@0ncemorewithfee1ing, when I read "kibbe", I automatically thought of "kibbeh"....the name we give for a type of meatball (I'm from the ME)!!

Jins · 28/02/2025 10:25

End of week 7 and I’ve lost 2.2 lbs taking total loss to 10.2lbs. Body fat measurement still obese but creeping down.

5mg is suiting me well but I’ve got the third dose out of my pen today so I’ve no idea if it will continue this way so there’s a 7.5mg pen on the way.

SW 11st 5 BMI 28.2
CW 10st 8.8 BMI 26.4
GW 9st BMI 22.3

GW is flexible in that I may be happy at 9.5 or may aim for 8.10. That would be a healthy range for me. For the first time in years it has felt achievable

Lovetoridemybicycle · 28/02/2025 10:40

Slightly nervous of 5mg week 2 side effects as I have a 3 hour train journey tonight for a weekend away. But weighed in today as well, with a 6kg total loss (wk7 day1).
Slow but steady, but also a long way to go, I'm a 10 stoneish loss required person. I haven't even thought about goal weight yet but my initial goal is to be able to go on the ZipWorld Wire in Wales in August - I started at 148kg (BMI 45.7) and that requires under 130kg, but I could do the toboggan in Edinburgh now without being naked (which is a bonus for every-one!)

HeavyHeidi · 28/02/2025 06:52

I have developed a new problem - I can fit into quite a lot of my previously too small clothes. But..I've gone off them. I don't like most of them any more. Went down to Kibbe style rabbit hole some time ago, and had to admit that the recommended style really suits me. So I have so many nice things in good condition that are just...meh. Anybody else with this issue?

Me! I used to be a total shopaholic and I have a dressing room full of clothes but I feel like I don't know how to dress anymore. I've always been a skinny jeans and a nice top kind of woman and I like a nice dress in summer but I feel like that's not the fashion now. But then again I don't really like the fashion atm which seems to be baggy everything. I really don't suit the baggy style jeans and when I look on what used to be my favourite websites like Hush everything is so DULL. I plan to have a shopping spree when I get to goal but no idea what il buy!

Doesn't help that I work from home and just live in sweaty Betty leggings!

JoanCollinsDiva · 28/02/2025 12:16

Oh, and I've just weighed and lost another 2lb. Start of week 6 I'm 17lbs down.

SW: 13.6
CW: 12.3
GW: 11 stone

Happy with that!

Beanie567 · 28/02/2025 12:19

@myladyjane totally agree - you can never have too many trainers (or shoes) lipsticks or books! In fact I’m in Waterstones cafe right now fueling with a peppermint tea before heading off to browse the books downstairs, will be adding to my bookstash!

JoanCollinsDiva · 28/02/2025 12:25

I really want to do that zip wire too - my dd sent me an insta clip of it and said "we need to do this mum"! It looks so much fun but I know il scream my head off the whole way 😆

Oh, believe me I will be screaming, while my teens laugh at me!

cloudjumper · 28/02/2025 13:15

I've been eyeing that zip wire thing in Wales too - do you mean the one that goes around bends? It looks so much fun, and my kids are desperate to do it. Another goal!

I think I'll try my size 14 jeans this weekend... I'm forever hoiking up the size 16s now (a problem I am very happy about indeed Grin).

Jins · 28/02/2025 13:19

I’ve not noticed a change in size yet but my everyday clothes are very forgiving. DH says he can see a big difference in my face which is nice to hear but I measured myself to start a new project and changes are minimal.

owly321 · 28/02/2025 13:20

I've just switched to Juniper for my second pen and it arrived today with the Juniper scale. I was looking forward to the scale as it measures other things such as body fat %. The trouble is, it shows me as exactly 2kg more than I other scales. I don't know how to check which is most accurate, but was hoping to use the new ones to track. I know I've still lost the same amount of weight either way, but it just feels like I have to lose those 2kgs again which feels like a blow psychologically. And I'm that much further away from my goal. 😔

DareDevil223 · 28/02/2025 13:33

As of yesterday morning my BMI is 25 on the nose (44 at the start, lost most of my weight on Ozempic then Wegovy, switched to MJ to lose last bit and then maintain).

I want to lose another 12lbs to get to a BMI around 23. I'm on 5mg right now, good suppression and I've lost 4lbs over the last month, no side effects.

I'm not sure whether to stay on 5mg or try moving up to 7.5. I'm with Cloud, so I'm asking them for their advice but would welcome views from this thread.

I don't know if this is a stupid idea but could you get a full bag of flour or sugar etc, and put it on the scale to see if the weight is accurate?

HeavyHeidi · 28/02/2025 13:35

if you're losing fine on 5, I would stay. Can always move up if it's no longer working.

HeavyHeidi · 28/02/2025 13:36

and wow @DareDevil223 , from BMI 44 to 25, you must feel like a whole new person. Or half a person, to be more accurate.

Definitely worth a try!

Thelittlestranger · 28/02/2025 14:11

I can't remember who it was that mentioned the 'sigh' when you are eating a meal that signifies you have had enough to eat. Whoever it was, thank you. It was the best description for me to understand when I should step away and I've been using it for the past month.

Just eaten a sandwich for lunch (nothing else in - we need to shop) and I have just left quarter of it. I reached the 'sigh' moment and realised I'd had enough. It's a game changer...

DareDevil223 · 28/02/2025 14:11

Thank you so much, it is a strange thing to have lost more than a whole MN teeny tiny! I was wearing size 10 jeans yesterday (yeah I know, vanity sizing etc but SIZE FREAKING 10!) I have a 28inch waist. I have kept a pair of H&M XL jeans that weren't even from my heaviest weight just to remind myself how far I've come.

I wish I could have done this in my 30s not 50s but I try not to waste my time with regrets. I am where I am now and it's a good place to be. I wish the same for everyone on these threads.

discoballv · 28/02/2025 14:21

@DareDevil223 well done, that is such an incredible achievement. Your 'wish I could have done it in my 30s comment' struck me - I am mid-thirties and keep thinking I wish I could have done this in my 20s. I have wasted so much of my life and held myself back because of my weight and I hope I am still young enough to enjoy being in a smaller, more comfortable body for a long time to come. But as you say, you can't think like that as it's not helpful to anybody.

myladyjane · 28/02/2025 14:32

@Thelittlestranger I also love the sigh. I was out to lunch today and ate all the yummy healthy bits in my Buddha bowl then just had a mound of rice left. I love rice, my fave carb and before I would have eaten it all but today I literally sighed as I just could y be arsed to eat.

Therealmetherealme · 28/02/2025 14:58

About to do Jab 9, it will be my second 5mg. No particular side effects to worry about. Food suppression was strong 24 hours or so after the jab but started to drop towards the end which is fine for me as I need to learn and push my will power.

I haven't had the thirst though, if anything the opposite.

Lost 3 lb this week, which seems to be my average.

SW 15.3
CW 13.4 so I should make 2 stone loss next week.
