Also in mainly same size 14s - just all fitting better, looser. A few size 14s that came up small I now fit into that I couldn’t before (Levi’s curve). But my size 16 jeans are officially too baggy.

@Zempy Standard healthy BMI is a milestone I look forward to celebrating! However, with my ethnic mix I’m supposed to be under a BMI of 23 (62kg) for true ‘healthy’. I’ll see how I feel once I hit 24 (65kg), as I’m only half SE Asian (other half is European) so maybe my threshold is 24!

@DGonMJ you are nearly at healthy BMI now, you must feel fantastic.

I have thought about rooting through my clothes, but aside from a couple of pairs of work trousers, I’m still in the same stuff, despite losing nearly two stone. I must have looked so shit in it all. Never mind, onward and downward!

SW: 13 stone 7
CW: 11 stone 8

Same here!! My jeans are a little looser, but not loose. They are stretchy which helps but they mush have been stretched to within an inch of its life!
I don't ever want to be that big again. I have some smaller clothes that still don't fit, I think I need another stone off for them, I'm 2 lbs off of 2 stone lost since the end of December (started slimming world on 30th December and first jab on 8th January.

MananaMananaPenelope · 15/03/2025 12:20

I am also finding that my clothes definitely fit better a stone and a bit down. Trousers that I'd stopped wearing because I'd washed them at 40 degrees rather than 30 degrees now fit well. 😂

My work jackets are all buttoning up with room to spare and I can wear size 16s on the top again.

Daily weigher - down 0.3kg, I know it doesn't mean a huge amount but at least it isn't up!!

I'm about a week ahead of losertown, I've set that as my benchmark, to remain slightly ahead of losertown's prediction.

BMI was 36, now 33.5. According to nutracheck I am ⅓ of the way to my first target of 83kg which gives me a BMI of 28. I might be happy there (at 56) if that lets me wear size 14 clothes comfortably. Let's see.

JoanCollinsDiva · 15/03/2025 12:27

I had a weird day yesterday, suppression was strong despite me being at the end of the week and I didn't eat all day then we went to our favourite restaurant and I could hardly eat a bite. I sat there taking deep breaths to stop myself from boaking at the table! Managed to force down a few prawns some rice and a bit of Greek salad. I could even finish my one drink. Slightly regretting ordering a 7.5mg pen now, I may have to count clicks. I jab my last 5mg tomorrow and then will probably try and get the bonus dose too next week before moving up.

How is everyone who's moved up to 7.5mg doing?

I did have an impromptu shopping trip yesterday as I'm going away in a couple of weeks and everything I bought was a 12 including jeans with no give and a dress in a size 10 (admittedly a flowy, roomy style). I was a bit shocked at how little I actually liked though- the fashion atm isn't my style at all and a lot of the clothes reminded me of Timmy Mallet! Lots of 80's/90's style garish colours, prints and everything very baggy and shapeless. This was in Next. It did stop me from spending too much though!

BlueLimes · 15/03/2025 12:36

@JoanCollinsDiva agree re clothes, I looked on m and s yesterday, wasn’t anything appealing.

i had 7.5mg last Sunday, Monday I could barely eat anything, as the week went on, I’ve averaged 1200. Still feel a bit suppressed today, by the evenings I can eat more. 2nd 7.5mg dose tomorrow - I really can’t work out what’s going on- but I’ve another 3 weeks at 7.5mg , so have a while before I need to decide if going up a dose. Hope you feel better today.

Jins · 15/03/2025 13:08

6.25mg is going ok. No side effects and I’m not terribly hungry. I might stick at this for a couple of doses of my 7.5mg pen. Mind you knowing me I’ll probably just go with the full dose as it’s easier.

I’m still in the same clothes but I’m not surprised as I’m just above the weight I was when I thought it was probably time to sort it out. I haven’t worn anything fitted for a while. My measurements have altered but not enough to need to go down a size yet. I’ve no idea about shop bought clothes sizes as i find them so inconsistent. The 5-10% of clothes I buy rather than make are jackets and coats and I bought the same coat in the same size in different colours once and only one of them fitted.

sociallydistained · 15/03/2025 13:14

Week 11 here and second pen of 5mg started on Thursday. I was second guessing this decision but I've lost 4lb in the last 2 weeks as I didn't weigh last week as I was due on. So hopefully I'll continue losing on this pen. I think I worry because so many people can't eat many calories and I am still eating a decent amount I am tracking and do have to make decisions like not having another snack at night when I could easily have one. But I'm excising lots and it's important to eat to gain muscle.

So pleased to be under 14 finally

HeavyHeidi · 15/03/2025 14:16

We need another thread soon.

Went shopping but I agree that all clothes were just ...meh.
Am thinking about seriously downsizing my wardrobe though and only keeping the things I really love, and not the ones that are just good enough. 80% of the time I wear 20% of my clothes.

Seaitoverthere · 15/03/2025 14:18

Friend had meeting yesterday and apparently the pens are going to be changed so the extra dose is removed. No time scale given but it is apparently coming.

I agree with this. A lot of my wardrobe has been stuff which are the best of a bad bunch from a big try on session, so stuff which I wouldn’t have picked first but it’s what looked ok on my body. I am looking forward to shopping and trying things on, and hopefully wearing the things I want to wear rather than settling for what fits.

Oh that’s made me rethink whether to buy more syringes. I was going to get a batch of with 32g needles as I have 30g and they’re quite painful. But maybe I’ll just put up with it for the next couple of months. I expect this sort of rumour will drive up batch buying for those with long WL journeys ahead of them. I reckon I’m 2-3 pens away from goal and then I’m hoping to maintain on 1.25mg (which will mean no bonus dose anyway as I’ll have to chuck the pen after 5x1.25mg)…but honestly no idea what kind of suppression I’ll need to eat at maintenance. Assuming some, because I’ve gained after every single diet I’ve ever been on.

What’s your friends connection to the prescribing? Interesting feedback- they’ll always have to be some extra to prime, at least 0.25mls extra for priming otherwise people wouldn’t be able to administer the full dose - so they’d be wrong to remove entirely.

Seaitoverthere · 15/03/2025 16:30

She is a diabetes nurse and had a recent meeting with Eli Lilly. She mentioned the US and their single dose pens and that they didn’t have enough so just used the existing Kwik pens that insulin comes in I think but have assumably decided with the amount they are losing from the extra dose that they have decided it is worth investing in more pens at this point. She didn’t mention priming but they will have to have that but would guess just enough for only that .

Some of her patients are starting to titrate down now. The blood sugar control comes fairly quickly but the weight loss takes longer but some patients have now reached target. I said I had read that it is better to titrate down and also to be on it for 2 years to help prevent regain and she said that is sensible so I think that is my plan for now.

2025istheyeari · 15/03/2025 16:51

Yay, some fab losses and BMI movements, well done everyone!

I agree, I’ve been looking at clothes and am underwhelmed, but I also don’t know what my body shape will be to suit me.
I got my summer clothes out today as we’re going away somewhere warm for a long weekend in a couple of weeks and agree with @Jins , such difference in sizing not only between brands but sometimes within! Good news is that some things are far too big so have gone on Vinted and a few things fit which haven’t.
I’m not sure some of my clothes look better since losing weight, I almost feel that by losing, I'm more flabby! I remember last time I lost a fair bit feeling the same part way through!

I’m mid way through week 10 ( albeit I started a week before my first injection and 2 victories today, getting under 14stone AND in overweight not obese BMI,so pleased! I haven’t been this weight since 2016!!!

sw 227.5
cw 195.2
gw 164ish ( will see how I feel, last time I was at goal 14 years ago, I struggled to
maintain below this but would love to be a bit lower)

total lost to date 32.3 pounds, so halfway there!( I always seem to lose at the beginning of the week and then stay the same or put on, so daily weighing now!)

I'm midway through my second 7.5mg and feeling much better this week!

have a lovely rest of your weekend all.

millenialmolly · 15/03/2025 17:34

This has probably already been asked many times but has anyone found injecting in different places to be more/less effective?

Injected in to my stomach for the first time yesterday, previously alternated my thighs for 8 weeks- no real reason why, just preference.

I'm on week 5 of 5mg and definitely feel the suppression is stronger today, sadly I've also been more nauseous and had sulphur burps 😩

Thelittlestranger · 15/03/2025 17:51

I know we have discussed set points before, but just read a really interesting article on it and it makes complete sense. It also ties in with titrating down and staying on this for a longer time to prevent regain. Because it can take 8-12 weeks to get past a set point plateau - as your body readjusts and doesn't think it'd starving itself. But once you have I think it is then easier to keep off. I have a feeling I'm battling my set point now. 3 weeks up and down around the same weight - a weight I haven't been near for 11 years.

Here's the link I got from another thread Weight set point

All my jeans are baggy, apart from the one pair I couldn't previously do up. My belt is now too big too. All good problems to have.

MJalltheway · 15/03/2025 19:01

Very interesting article @Thelittlestranger , thank you for sharing that. This paragraph stood out to me : If we lose weight, our body will become much better at rationing what it has to make it last longer. It will reduce our body temperature, thyroid activity, and fat oxidation (or the amount of fat we burn) and help our muscles move more efficiently.

Explains why people are feeling so cold and tired, with reduced body temp and thyroid activity!

it ties in with what I've heard before, although I think what I read before said it can be 6 months to a year to reset your set point. So maybe we should be thinking of it like - lose 5-10% of bodyweight, plateau for a number of months, lose another 5-10% of body weight, plateau again and so on.
By that reasoning I'll probably hit a plateau in the next 2-3 weeks. It's actually really helpful to know and expect this. And to know that it's not permanent, you just need to keep doing what you are doing and be patient.

BlueLimes · 15/03/2025 19:51

Such a helpful article @Thelittlestranger
I think I plateau at 11.2 ish. I’m starting to think of this as more long term too, rather than the 4 months I planned, wondering about changing from Voy, it’s more expensive and I’m not using the extra features. Convenient though and hsooy with them so maybe not worth it.

I had fizzy water watching the rugby rather than a glass (bottle) of wine - another little jab miracle!

Thelittlestranger · 15/03/2025 20:36

I've lost 12% of my weight which would make sense if it is that. Also, this is when I would usually give up - but I'm not interested in giving up. At all.

2025istheyeari · 15/03/2025 20:42

Thanks @Thelittlestranger , really interesting article that resonates so much from my previous attempts to shift this weight. I’d lose a certain amount, get stuck and then give up as it ‘wasn’t working’. Definitely in it for the long term this time and Mounjaro makes it all seem possible for the first time in a long time.

Jins · 15/03/2025 20:58

I’m close to a set point now -10st 5. I sat around that weight for ages, obese in terms of body fat but so close to normal BMI that my GP struggled to take me seriously when I moaned about how the consultant’s diet had made me pack the pounds on. I have another one at 9st 7 which tends to be a struggle to get past. In some ways I’d be ok settling at that but I’ll still be carrying an awful lot more fat round my midriff than is ideal for health.

I’m feeling a bit low today and I’m not sure why. Things are going ok, I’m averaging 1.4lbs a week, I’m nearly a stone down and I’ve not had any side effects. I think I’d just like to need smaller clothes at this stage and I don’t.

GrumpyMuleFan · 15/03/2025 21:41

@Thelittlestranger really good read and the linked follow on, about what to do when you hit a set point. This explains so much to me. I’ve wobbled around the same weight (152-149) so many times, without understanding why. My heaviest was 174 and I can ‘pop back there in a flash’. No I know that I just need to keep going and be patient. also explains the cold/tired thing which is really getting in my wick. I just need and crave more energy. I am going to try to push myself out of this zone tomorrow. Early walk in sun and some TRX. Anything else I can do to help my energy levels? I fear I am turning into a cat. 😱😱

@HeavyHeidi good link on bone size! I am small with 6” wrist at 5’4”. My goal weight is 135, but now wonder if it should be lower. Have you come across anything that advises on ideal weight for health/body frame?

I saw my Mum today and she went on and on, in a really lovely way, about how fab and glamorous I’m looking! My hair, skin and clothes. She’s not a great one for compliments and I almost teared up. She has also totally accepted that I won’t be eating shortbread at ten in the morning - def progress!! 💪🏽

GrumpyMuleFan · 15/03/2025 21:51

@jins. Sorry to read that you’re feeling a bit low - do you think it’s part of feeling tired? Or maybe just the novelty wearing off? I had a couple of low days after c 4 weeks and I was taken by surprise at how low I felt. Baths, sleep, reading, long walks and seeing friends all helped. If you can, do some really nice things for yourself tomorrow. 🤗

I’d also love to know if there’s some guidance on ideal body weight. I know people carry it differently so maybe it’s not really a thing beyond BMI charts. I have totally guessed mine (9st 7 - I am 5ft 3 and have a small frame according to that website), but I have never been lighter than 11st something in my adult life so it’s really hard to judge. Apart from now as I am 10st 12! 😁

GrumpyMuleFan · 15/03/2025 22:04

@discoballv that is amazing - well done you. New territory is very exciting. Maybe we just need to keep on and not focus so much on a number, but how we feel when we keep taking all the actions. We’ve all been so brainwashed for years about short term, quick fixes and target weights. Maybe the long term solution is to live the lifestyle and then see where your body settles. Rather like a final set-point that doesn’t change?
