I have developed a new problem - I can fit into quite a lot of my previously too small clothes. But..I've gone off them. I don't like most of them any more. Went down to Kibbe style rabbit hole some time ago, and had to admit that the recommended style really suits me. So I have so many nice things in good condition that are just...meh. Anybody else with this issue?

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 28/02/2025 07:03

@LillethCrane Take measurements too!
The one week my weight stayed the same, I'd actually lost an inch from my waist and half an inch from my hips.
Every week on weigh day I measure my waist, hips, arm and thigh.
Scales aren't the only way to check progress, especially as women's weight can fluctuate so much with hormones etc.

Everyone is doing so well!

I am here to add to the discussion re miunjaro affecting the menstrual cycle. I started mounjaro at the end of my last period and am quite regular usually, but have been in here complaining about my lack of period, currently in week 6. However, it has shown up (very very light but here) just under 2 weeks late. So a similar pattern to someone else one page up (can’t remember your name!) late on and light. Hoping my body has now got used to mounjaro being around and that I’ll go back to my usual, regular cycle. Happy for it to be lighter though!

I’m similar to you. I’m in week 8 of my MJ journey, had period at the end of week 1 that lasted a good 10 days (although v light towards the end) and nothing since.

im perimenopausal so am guessing it’s something to do with one or both!!

unicornsaremagical · 28/02/2025 07:59

week 7 complete and another 3lbs lost. Slower than normal but better than nothing feeling very tired and nauseas this week but definitely trying to focusing on the better points, i’ve gone from size 16 being tight to fitting comfortably in size 12 and my 5 year old told me my face looks “younger” probably because the weight loss is visible now. Another down note, i ordered a 7.5mg pen and royal mail “left it” and its nowhere to be found so hoping to get this resolved somehow
SW: 14stone 11
CW: 12stone 10
GW: 10stone 11 (or whenever i get to a size 10)

unicornsaremagical · 28/02/2025 08:02

@HeavyHeidi i kind of have the opposite i got rid of all my small clothes last year but i had a lovely wardrobe full of 16s that are now way to big. Maybe try vinted or ebay to get a few good deals for between sizes. I’d be happy to post/donate size 16s if anyone’s in need. Lovely brands etc.

Jins · 28/02/2025 08:03

I’m finding being on Mounjaro very similar to how I felt on the Atkins diet which also regulates blood sugar levels. I think it proves that we all have insulin resistance to some degree. So we definitely aren’t just greedy!!!!!

Within the confines of my FODMAP on steroids consultant imposed diet I have managed to reduce my carbs to just over my previous maintenance level. I haven’t gone off sweet stuff but I don’t crave it.

Weigh in today when I finally drag my sneezing and coughing self out of bed

HeavyHeidi · 28/02/2025 08:07

@unicornsaremagical ah I have plenty of clothes to wear still, not an issue.
Just wondering what to do with all the clothes I no longer like. I need someone else to put them all up on Vinted and deal with crazy buyers who clearly also can't read..

MJalltheway · 28/02/2025 08:10

95.1kg today, 0.8kg in the past week and total loss of 5.9kg in 5 weeks. Frustratingly close to the first stone! And BMI is now 30.02! Would be great to get not only the first stone but also moving to overweight instead of obese by next week 💪

second 5mg jab done, hope I can avoid the gastro symptoms this week.

MJalltheway · 28/02/2025 08:13

I've been stalking Vinted to get a couple of pairs of trousers in size 16. Tops I can deal with but when I get to the stage of trousers no longer fitting, I'll have to get at least a couple of pairs in intermediate sizes.
im looking forward to listing all my size 18 and 20s!

HeavyHeidi · 28/02/2025 08:26

I also need to go down a bra cup size, it seems.

MananaMananaPenelope · 28/02/2025 08:30

@HeavyHeidi I think I need an entire new casual wardrobe post weight loss. I walked past a Mint Velvet shop window the other week and thought I would like to wear everything on those three mannequins, that’s what I would like to look like.

I don’t think I have a ‘style’ anymore but hopefully I will develop one. I’m planning on splurging when I get there. 💰💰💰💰💰

@MJalltheway ive lost 5.2kg in the same sort of timeframe, I’m a bit heavier than you at 98.8 so not as close to ‘overweight’. I can feel a difference but don’t think my measurements have changed yet.

I’ve ordered a 5mg pen today, delivery end of March, to take advantage of the £20 off code at Ouskh.

unicornsaremagical · 28/02/2025 08:32

@MJalltheway id be happy to send you some?

MananaMananaPenelope · 28/02/2025 08:44

@supercompetitivesibling - 👋, we have moved to here if you haven’t already found us. Welcome 🌼.

myladyjane · 28/02/2025 08:45

Morning everyone. Well done losers!

I love a bit of clothes chat. @HeavyHeidi I always fancied looking into kibbe stuff a bit more but I've got no eye. I contemplated getting it done properly but I had my colours done about 10 years ago and it narrowed my selection down already.

I have gone down in work trousers but they were very loose already. I am building up a little pot of spends and also am doing a treat per pen. Last month was pretty trainers (I love a bright trainer). This month either a posh lipstick or some earrings.

I know from experience though it's about 2 stone per dress size for me. I am very dense.....

LillethCrane · 28/02/2025 06:48

I love how it has made me feel so indifferent about food, when for my whole life I’ve thought/planned/worried/craved/felt guilty about it. It’s liberating.

Sadly, my worries about the numbers on the scales haven’t disappeared- the numbers matter so much! I was frustrated yesterday as I ‘felt’ slimmer somehow, but the scales hadn’t moved in over a week. Today, they are 1lb down and I feel better about myself.

6.5 weeks in, 22lbs down
49lbs to go…

It's the whoosh effect. Hold tight the weight loss will happen.

MananaMananaPenelope · 28/02/2025 08:51

@myladyjane I too love bright trainers/footwear. I’m very good at treating myself to lovely skincare/hair products and nice makeup, shoes and bags.

Those are all things that are easy to buy when you’re fed up with your size aren’t they, it’s like at least I can be happy with my hair and skin, if not size 🙃.

HeavyHeidi · 28/02/2025 08:52

@myladyjane for lipsticks, have you tried the Wonderblading ones, they always show up on facebook ads. The ones that go on blue and you wipe off? They work - tint stays on the whole day. Can recommend.

I agree about colours, once I started buying only in my palette, it really helped to organise the wardrobe. And all my clothes can be mixed and matched - no random orange jumpers that go with nothing else.

HeavyHeidi · 28/02/2025 08:54

@MananaMananaPenelope I have a massive cosmetics addition. Yes, even if the waistline has disappeared, my skin is still fabulous 😀
Although at some point when putting on make up I was thinking that considering the size of me, it's like planting flowers around a nuclear power plant..

TicTac80 · 28/02/2025 09:01

Morning all!! It's Week 9, Day 1 for me. I have one more dose (after today's one) at 5mg and then will go for the bonus dose and try to see if I can get more than the 5mg on the bonus dose. I have a day off from work today (yay!) and I weighed myself first thing this morning

SW 76.2Kg
CW 65.45kg, BMI 24.0, fat 32.7% (I need to reduce this!), water 46.2%.

My weight went down to 65.1kg on Tuesday (and I got all excited because I thought it might drop a bit more), but then it increased a bit on Weds and Thurs, before dropping to CW. I keep reminding myself to focus on the overall trajectory. I'm going to measure myself in a sec and see what the differences are.

I've upped my exercise in the past week by doing 30mins on the days I wasn't working (as I do 15-20K steps per shift), but I had a rest day yesterday. It's getting lighter in the mornings and I think that will motivate me to get out of bed early and get that exercise done. When it's warmer, I want to start cycling to/from work. I'll work up to doing a 30min blast on treadmill or exercise bike before work in the meantime.

I need a PA to sell my unwanted stuff! It is such a faff, isn't it? I'm normally too lazy to do it and just give stuff away. I really admire people who do sell lots of things, as I don't have the patience for it. My clothes are definitely a lot looser on me and more people at work are starting to notice. I will wait til I get to target weight and then see what clothes I have that fit (I did keep a lot of my lovely old clothes from before the weight piled on!) and see if I need to get re-measured for my bras!

myladyjane · 28/02/2025 09:04

@HeavyHeidi yes! I have one of those - a wonder skin pink one. It's a touch cold tone for me and I've been looking at a slightly rosier one. I also love the maybelline 24 hour stains. I have a red which lasted me from 7 - 7 yesterday. I am thinking Lisa Eldridge for my treat perhaps.

I alternate between the good skin/make up accessories and looking like a hedge witch because 'what's the point'. I am actually very bad with my hair so even though it's very healthy and an interesting colour (I let my grey come in and it's sort of naturally highlighted) it's always badly styled. So there is always the wiff of unkempt about me

MananaMananaPenelope · 28/02/2025 09:05

I’m such a small user @HeavyHeidi , probably a bit lazy tbh. Foundation usually lasts me two years. Anyway, before Christmas I reviewed my skincare stuff and think I’ve got it right.

I decided to make more effort and wear light make up on a daily basis. I bought a Bobbi Brown foundation with serum in it on my shopping trip last week, I was always an Clarins girl, I love it - have worn it every day since.

Well done @TicTac80 that’s a fabulous loss isn’t it.

2025istheyeari · 28/02/2025 09:12

Wow, some amazing losses and nsv! Well done everyone, this is really working!! Agree that I just don’t fancy things in the same way and can go out for dinner knowing I’m not going to do my normal stuff it, I have to make the list of it and eat everything!
I think I must have been squeezing myself into my clothes as although they feel a bit looser there isn’t too much difference! I haven’t been this weight for 5 years though and I bought a hush denim jumpsuit from Vinted in a 14 which fits! Also some leopard skin trousers from damson madder in the sale which are already a bit roomy! My issue is tops, I’m quite booby and I struggle. Like others I don’t want to spend a fortune so I’m going to use Vinted while I’m in between sizes. I will have a LOT of summer stuff ( me and em, Wyse etc) to list on Vinted soon.
like others because I’ve not been able to buy the clothes I wanted I have a slight skincare and bag/ shoe addiction! Def don’t need any more trainers or shoes in my life! Off to scroll Vinted for a new belt ( mine are huge now!) and tops!
Also how kind of people to offer to post trousers etc, this thread is so lovely.

TicTac80 · 28/02/2025 09:13

ok, just measured myself. I don't do it often, well I only measured on Feb 2nd...but I dropped 1-2inches of waist, hips, bust etc.

Edit...Just to add, I don't really know what my goal weight is, but thinking of clothing, I have some beautiful dresses (that are about 20yrs old) that I would LOVE to fit into again. A lot are for formal/party occasions, and I probably would rarely have the occasion to wear them but I love them. So, if I can tone up and slim down to wearing those again, then that would be fab.

MananaMananaPenelope · 28/02/2025 09:30

I felt compelled to weigh myself after eating out last night. The psychology around those little numbers is mad isn’t it.

My scales show a 1lb loss since yesterday morning, I probably only ate 1000 cals yesterday but still feel full (and like psyllium husk is required). I’ve also had coffee before weighing which I never do, so confusing. 🤯

I think I’m learning not to celebrate small wins, but equally I’d be miserable if it wasn’t in the right direction.

myladyjane · 28/02/2025 09:44

Lads, I have a confession. After my little attention seeking tantrum the other day (in my defence I really was feeling awful) I got on the scales as Friday is my 'official' weigh day and the one I record. Seems I lost a pound and a half, am in the next stone down bracket and only half a pound off the stone. So sorry for being a drama llama.

The moral of the story as dh has lectured me is to stick to weigh day and don't go in for mid week weighing as it messes with my head.

I couldn't decide between sticking on 3.75 as suppression etc good (even yesterday, day 6 of the week) or moving up to 5 to try and get stuff moving so I split the difference and did about 4.3. Let's see how that works.

@2025istheyeari you are incorrect I am afraid, you can never have too many pairs of trainers. Never. Or too many lipsticks or too many books.
