W6 D1 - just done my first 5mg.

SW - 12st 2.2lbs
CW - 11st 1.8lbs
GW - 9st 7lbs

I had originally set my goal at 10st but I feel so positive about this whole thing that I thought why not dream big 😂

Only 1st 8ish to go!

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 27/02/2025 18:12

@Zempy I ordered my 5 this morning because of the discount, that's how I saw the skip bit 😆 I only sent a photo 2 weeks ago.

And thank you. My mind is honestly blown. I keep looking at it written down like that, and checking to make sure I haven't made a mistake.

I was googling for click count and this page came up, where they very firmly recommend not to increase the dose unless it doesn't work any more.
https://thevirtualslimmingclinic.co.uk/what-is-mounjaro/

Im due 3rd dose of 5mg on Sunday. Ive very little suppression, wondering about increasing dose? Very minimal side effects- had mild nausea weeks 1-4 (nothing else touch wood) oh apart from sone disturbed sleep.

millenialmolly · 27/02/2025 18:37

After fretting all week that I've not been losing and vowing to weigh in Saturday... weighed this morning and I've lost 3lbs this week.

A lovely surprise! I've stayed away from the daily weighing as it just does me no good. Hopefully in for another loss next week but I'll take anything. I'm 15lbs down in 6 weeks which is amazing for me given my crap metabolism and underactive thyroid.

If I'd been going this alone I would have lost half of that in 6 weeks and probably would have put it all back on in half term!

DGonMJ · 27/02/2025 19:27

Well done on all the losses! Especially the unexpected losses, that must be a nice feeling.

Period came today as predicted, exactly 4 weeks after the last one. So looks like MJ has made me much more punctual.

W8 D5 3.33mg
Have stayed the same the last few days since getting to 70kg, which is probably not bad given it’s been the week leading up to my period.

I tried to cancel my Juniper subscription. They offered me a £65 discount if I stayed. Then they sent an email saying the discount only applies if I pay full price for my next pen and then I get to spend it on the pen after that. So they’re really tying you into buying two pens each with a £32.50 discount. I still don’t think that’s competitive enough so emailed back asking to fully cancel.

Enjoy your R&R @UnderandOverwhelmed

@claudia1994 well done for braving the mirror. I think losing weight overall is the only true way to eventually deal with problem areas, but if you’re looking to tone up muscle across your abs and inner thighs I find that Pilates often has exercises work those areas.

@jins interesting that MJ has helped with IBS, given all the gastrointestinal side effects some people suffer. It’s amazing that for you, it’s actually balanced out your digestive system for the better.

If you have very little supression then sounds like you could go up a dose indeed. I'm the opposite, thinking if I really need a shot this evening as scheduled or should I wait til tomorrow - don't feel like eating anything right now.

HeavyHeidi · 27/02/2025 19:37

I still find it unbelievable that a minuscule amount of a drug, 2.5mg, per week, can make suce a huge difference. I am not roaming around constantly looking for something to eat while trying not to eat it at the same time.

Jins · 27/02/2025 19:49

@DGonMJ I’ve been reading about MJ and IBS and it seems I’m not alone in seeing an improvement. It’s an area for further study, either way I’m pretty happy about it.

Jab tomorrow and although I’ve not felt very hungry today I’ve definitely overeaten as it was fridge leftovers day and I think I’m brewing a cold which I always tend to eat my way through. So it will be interesting to see how I cope with a virus on MJ.

Jjsmum2007 · 27/02/2025 19:58

Hey, wondering if anyone can recommend some decent shapewear please? I know that I'm gonna have my little apron at the front no matter what I do 😆 and I'm ok with that now- as long as it's smaller haha. So will be needing something to smooth it out lol. Some lovely big pants should do the trick!

MJalltheway · 27/02/2025 20:00

Some really positive stories about losses - and any loss is a loss, however small!
Jab and weigh-in in the morning for me. Hoping to break the first stone barrier! 🤞

Had some chocolate today for the first time, it was very meh. I'll be sticking to oranges and apples from now on instead!

I have one of those shape wear bodysuits which is really good at smoothing everything out. I just looked for a well-rated one on amazon.

usethedata · 27/02/2025 20:05

Well after a fairly disastrous response to 5mg I did go back to 2.5mg last Thurs. I was worried I would not lose weight or get enough suppression but it seems for the moment 2.5 is the dose for me, and I might titrate up gradually if needed. Feeling very please with a 4lb loss this week, taking me to 22.5lbs in 8 weeks.

UnderandOverwhelmed · 27/02/2025 20:07

Urgh, I'm not feeling great. Had an episode of very explosive bowel movement and since my back has been really hurting. I think I'm going to have to drop my dose, I've been slowly increasing from 2.5 over the past 5 weeks ( 3.3, 3.75, 3.75, 4.3, 4.4), but i feel awful the day after the jab every time. Not how I want to feel on my relaxing break!

HeavyHeidi · 27/02/2025 20:23

@Jjsmum2007 I've tried various but always go back to good old Spanx.

Pandora71 · 27/02/2025 20:36

Hello. Checking in on the new thread. My initial strong response at low dosage is wearing off so planning to increase a bit further now. Pleased to be in the 140s on the scale this week. Onward and downward!

I think I might have 1 more dose of 5mg and then go up, purely as I have an event with DD and don’t want to risk being ill.
I have had 4x2.5mg, 1x4mg, if have 1 more dose of 5mg, that will be 3 x5mg so really not far off the usual schedule if I then go up to 7.5mg?

BlueLimes · 27/02/2025 20:53

Sorry for waffling on. Only DH knows I’m taking it and he doesn’t engage as much 🤣 he does try !

MananaMananaPenelope · 27/02/2025 20:57

Lots of updates to catch up with. That is an amazing loss @Howinthehelldidthishappen 🏆.

I went out for a quick dinner this evening 😳, DC2 msgd to ask if I was still at work, yes, they were close by and so we met in one of my favourite restaurants that serves loads of fresh fish and seared/grilled/bbq'd whatever shellfish.

I drank fizzy water and ordered two courses, calamari - 1, grilled seabass, king prawns, spinach and salad - 2. I could hardly manage the second course, I ate the spinach and two king prawns, ½ of one of the seabass fillets.

I would have polished the lot off pre MJ because I was 'out' for dinner.

HeavyHeidi · 27/02/2025 21:34

I can understand appetite suppression in general, but I still don't get how it makes me go off certain foods. Sweets, cakes. Crisps and chips. Bread and pasta. Pancakes - kids made some, I didn't have any. Alcohol - have had like 2 drinks since I've been on mj, just don't fancy it.
Bought a tub of ice cream I really like, sits there in the freezer unopened even though I have plenty of calories left to use today.
How does mj do that?

Thelittlestranger · 27/02/2025 21:42

I wonder if it's because we are keeping our sugar levels steadier - which avoids the crash, and the crave. It then becomes self fulfilling, as eating less UPF food breaks the addiction - so you stop craving that too.

On 4.6. No food noise, good suppression. Have bonus does to go where I think I'll go up to 5, then next pen is 5 and will stick at that until I need to change.

kmreeve · 27/02/2025 21:46

I've just been having this exact conversation in my head. I've had a bowl of fruit and fibre and a jacket potato with beans and a side salad today. Had planned a fruit salad and some yoghurt after dinner to make up my calories and I've just come up to bed and realised I completely forgot about it. I've never in my life had to remind myself to eat. I'd be constantly thinking about "what's next" and fretting about how many calories there are in things. When I was trying to lose weight the weekends were so stressful as we are a very "going out" kind of family and I knew of we went to a nice restaurant I'd struggle to just order something like fish and vegetables or if we went to the cinema I wouldn't be able to resist the pic n mix and ice cream. Now I KNOW with complete confidence I can go anywhere and not be tempted. I just don't care anymore.

It's insane!

HeavyHeidi · 28/02/2025 06:44

according to this morning's weigh-in, I've lost almost 10 kilos since 6th of January. A few kilos of holiday water weight, so that doesn't really count. But 7.5 kilos since starting MJ 5 yeeks ago. I can't believe it. And it has not been hard.

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 28/02/2025 06:48

Well done losers!

I’m hoping there’s something in the theory that keeping our blood sugars stable is helping avoid the crash and crave cycle. My hope is that after a long enough period of MJ my system will have adjusted to less sugar and I won’t be addicted to it as before.

LillethCrane · 28/02/2025 06:48

I love how it has made me feel so indifferent about food, when for my whole life I’ve thought/planned/worried/craved/felt guilty about it. It’s liberating.

Sadly, my worries about the numbers on the scales haven’t disappeared- the numbers matter so much! I was frustrated yesterday as I ‘felt’ slimmer somehow, but the scales hadn’t moved in over a week. Today, they are 1lb down and I feel better about myself.

6.5 weeks in, 22lbs down
49lbs to go…
