Try to think about the weight loss as hopefully something we can sustain, and not a short term crash diet. As long as the scales are moving the right way, it's all good.

For rewards, I'm definitely going to get some tweaks to face - touch of filler, maybe check out what else firming there is on the market nowadays. Maybe will buy that Sezane silk blouse I've been eyeing if I actually manage to get to current CW.

Beanie567 · 11/03/2025 09:35

@discoballv I have exactly the same weight loss as you in the same amount of time! I’ve had two weeks where I’ve stayed the same, the first was week 2 (after a loss of 6lb in week 1) and the other was week 5 when I think I was ready to go up a dose. Do you have a lot to lose? I have two more stones to go and an hoping slow and steady means it will stay off more easily than if it whooshed off super quickly.

I just have another 1 and a half stone to go so I'm taking the same approach as you! It's coming off at a slightly slower pace than others but that's fine. In the past I would have got frustrated and thrown the towel in as I felt like I was depriving myself for no results but MJ has made it so much easier to just accept and carry on. I'll be interested to see if I lose anything in my next 2 weeks of 5mg. I am eating really clean and high protein, and well within the calories I should be eating for a loss, so it's funny how the scales aren't budging at all.

Weigh day!
Another 2lb down which I’m happy about. Started at 15.1 and now 13.13. Aiming for 12.1 so a long way to go.

Re weight training - Ive just started adding Les Mills workouts into my week, they have strength training which I’ve been following but also Bodypump and all their other classes (Body Attavk and Body Combat are my favourites). I used use them then stopped my subscription but started up via Firestick (so my Amazon account) at only £12.99 a month and first month free.

And re dizziness, I used to get the dizzy, faint feeling and yes, electrolytes are the way forward. I religiously have a tablet every morning and I also bought some water drop tablets that go in a pint glass of water (that’s how I have it anyway!) which I drink throughout the day. That has definitely the problem out for me.

I'd really recommend Tone if you haven't tried it yet. It's probably my fave now. A mix of everything and feel it works the glutes really well which feels good! I've started consistently doing Bodypump, Combat and Tone every week. I lost a lot of weight years ago and was a gamechanger staying consistent with these. I've tried and failed since having my son to try and get that back but I was just getting bigger and finding it harder. Finally with MJs help I'm back in a routine and hope the results find me by summer!

Jins · 11/03/2025 10:16

Isn’t it funny thinking of non-food rewards?

No reward plans here sadly but I am going to Corfu around the time I should be within 7lbs of goal so will probably count that as an interim reward. In the long term I think my treats will be my MJ maintenance dose. I wish I’d done this when I was still earning!

Slight gain this morning which I’d expected following a weekend whoosh. I’m still debating what to do with my 7.5mg pen but it all depends on how I do on the bonus dose

HeavyHeidi · 11/03/2025 10:23

I lost a ton of weight when I first became a LesMills instructor in my mid-20s. But I was doing 2-3 classes every day, which is really not sustainable with full time job and family obligations. But they are good programmes and there's something for everybody.

RockyisMYRhino · 11/03/2025 11:03

Did another weight check in this morning and was very happy to see the amount I had put in come off again! Hopefully I can get a bit more off by my official weigh in and jab day on Thursday!

MJalltheway · 11/03/2025 11:19

Beanie567 · 11/03/2025 09:31

@MJalltheway my daughter has pernicious anaemia too and has found if she gets a bit lax with the cofactors her symptoms start to return. As a typical uni student it’s been a learning curve for her getting on top of it without me there reminding her every day! She has the injection 3x a week and high strength folate, probiotics, iron tablets and a good multivitamin. She also has to take electrolytes after exercise or if it’s been hot because her potassium will drop (think it may sweat out? Not sure how that works!) and it’s needed to make the b12 work as well.

yes, the cofactors are so important and not something the GPs even mention! I'm definitely guilty of letting the folate slide - must order some more! I had several years of daily injections until I recovered enough to drop down to once weekly which is what I now do. One reason why I didn't want to go on any medication that needed daily injections again! Although the MJ ones are a doddle compared to the B12 ones.

Sorry in advance for long post! In my post migraine haze, I’ve realised that I’ve not been feeling great for the past few weeks. I’m constantly exhausted, freezing cold, nauseous, sulphur burps on and off, headaches and dizzy, also feeling a bit low, None of these are so serious that I can’t deal with them but they have meant I’ve had to cancel some plans and I’m off work today feeling grim. I’m also so exhausted that I’m not exercising other than walking at weekends and only averaging around 5/6000 steps in the week. Do you think these are just side effects and I need to grin and bear or does anyone have any suggestions on things I can do to help please?
I'm drinking at least 2l of water a day, eating cleanly, not had any alcohol and v little sugar since starting ( fruit and the odd square of 85% chocolate), I’m craving carbs atm, but again relatively healthy ones like homemade seeded sourdough, jacket potatoes, brown rice! I don’t recognise myself honestly 🤣. I also seem to have stalled a bit this week, I’d lost 2 1/2 pounds on Saturday but that’s gone back on. Any ideas please?! Thanks

MananaMananaPenelope · 11/03/2025 12:41

@MJalltheway & @Jins 😫 at the cost of the uni years.

Both DC work one day at the weekend and I guess I don’t need to fund to the level I do, but it’s not their fault that their father is such a loser (not in our losers club, a very different one!).

This too shall pass 🤣. I’ll probably drop to three days a week and no consulting when they’re both done …. and be better off too!

JoanCollinsDiva · 11/03/2025 13:32

MJalltheway
Two at uni for us also - as well as two at private school 😩 so still a few more years of education expenditure ahead for us.

We'll be rolling in it when they all leave - just hope we're not too decrepit to enjoy it 😂

Jins
Sounds like you can make anything - I like hearing about your projects. I went to a sewing class (eons ego) and was very proud of the cushion I managed to make with my dd's name appliquéd on it. I went through a spate of making some (very basic) cushions and curtains after that but never progressed to learning to do zips etc. I don't seem to have the patience to stick at anything!

HeavyHeidi
Your fitness regime puts me to shame I have to say. You are so active and strong! I have done precisely one dumbbell workout since I started back in mid January. I do walk every day and try to do a 6 mile route at least 3 times a week. I'm really lazy though and should be doing more strength stuff.

JoanCollinsDiva · 11/03/2025 13:35

I agree your ex sounds like a massive loser - and you sound like Supermum ❤️ 💪

JoanCollinsDiva · 11/03/2025 13:38

You should go and get your blood pressure checked and maybe a blood test. Sounds like low blood pressure symptoms but could also be lack of iron/B12. I've been taking supplements but I still feel very tired/lacking in energy some days and am getting dizzy when I stand up.

Im a hypocrite though bc I avoid the doctors like the plague!

DGonMJ · 11/03/2025 13:52

@2025istheyeari i wonder if you need to increase your calories in order to kickstart your metabolism and give yourself energy to exercise.
I think craving complex carbs is your body’s way of asking for more energy. If it helps, I regularly eat a small slice of seeded sourdough (~40g), small portion of brown basmati rice (60-80g) and wholewheat noodles. I feel so much better for it - like my brain needs it. I’m not losing super fast but I have lost 10kg in 10 weeks and even at this rate I could do with an energy boost!

Jins · 11/03/2025 14:06

@JoanCollinsDiva I’ll have a go at most things craft wise but my real love is dressmaking. I made my own wedding dress with mum’s help but stopped when the DSs were little and never really started again. If my mother hadn’t wanted her over the head nightdresses turned into button up ones my machines would probably still be in the wardrobe. Now I’m retired 🎉🍾 I wanted to do something creative in the time I now have for myself so set the machines up and had a go.

I seem to be bloating today which is annoying because that seemed to have improved on MJ. I definitely overdid it on the fibre yesterday so that’s probably to blame. I need to keep an accurate record I suppose. You’ve also all guilted me into recognising that I probably need to do more exercise although I need to focus on strength rather than cardio. I still haven’t found a pool I like while my local one is closed

Zempy · 11/03/2025 14:08

@Jins I am also debating whether to step up to 7.5. Bonus dose on Friday will probably be more than 5mg so I will see how I cope with that. I have good suppression on 5 all week, it doesn’t taper off completely. I might count clicks on my 7.5 pen.

@2025istheyeari yeah I feel similar but am just accepting it as side effects. I do think you should get checked out if you’re worried though.

Re the uni years… unfortunately my two are mid twenties and still need financial support. They both live and work in London on Arts wages and it’s bloody difficult making ends meet. Their father is fucking useless so it all comes to me.

Weighing myself tomorrow and really hoping to see a one or two pound loss. That will be enough to keep me going.

bit random - I’ve been feeling hugely tired too but yesterday I managed 3L of water and I’ve just had a whole bottle of kefir and I feel better!

Grecianrainbow · 11/03/2025 15:31

Mixed feelings for me today, scales are stuck (daily weigher) and I usually see a little downward trend by this day so pondering whether to up dose for next order.
however I just looked in the mirror and can see my waist starting to emerge again (front view only) still round from the side but I always had an hourglass figure prekids so it was a nice surprise to recognise that again. If only from the front 🧐.

still have a couple of weeks at 5mg to see how I progress this month

MananaMananaPenelope · 11/03/2025 15:49

That’s lovely @Grecianrainbow , lost waist refound. 😍

I did remember to measure my waist this week and it’s now 38” so I’ve lost an inch. 😑 Haven’t measured anywhere else as I’m not sure I’d get the tape measure in the same place twice.

I’m on a 🚊 this afternoon, just setting in with cup of railway tea and a snooze. You know when you wake up at 4am thinking about all the things you want to make sure you deal with today, that was me. 😴

Food options were very limited for me today, I had a dollop of tuna and mayonnaise and a scrape of hummus on half a piece of sourdough from a buffet. I’m not sure how @Thelittlestranger copes being away with work all the time.

@JoanCollinsDiva , not sure about super mum 🤣. Like most of us, my kids are my priority. I find them both lovely, kind and entertaining. They laugh and tell me that I’d be cancelled in a heartbeat in the real world. Lol. I’m definitely not turning into my mother who is extremely polite and well behaved.

yes @DGonMJ i wondered the same to be honest. I have had the odd slice of homemade sourdough and a bit of brown rice but think you’re right, I need more! I’ve just had a slice of toast with peanut butter and I may just have what I crave today and see if that helps. I’ll try to up my calories over the next few days and take a call on if I need to go to the GP, I don’t think so but worth keeping an eye. Thank you all! I also think I need to drop my ‘diet’ mentality and let myself have things if I fancy them!

JoanCollinsDiva · 11/03/2025 16:19

Me neither MananaMananaPenelope
who wants to be polite and well behaved - not me!

Ds 21 also likes to tell dh and I how we'd be cancelled. There is a long list of subjects we don't dare touch on when he comes home! He's turned into a social justice warrior since going to uni 😂

He texted us yesterday to tell us how his friend had "found it offensive" to see photos of my dh in front of the twin towers at 9/11 (he was working in the area at the time). Apparently he's awful "to have been taking selfies" when the first plane crashed - I told him to tell her selfies didn't even exist back then - He was just shocked and took a photo fgs! Next minute he was running for his life!

In other news I've just had a clear out of one wardrobe and have two bin bags for the charity shop. Including some size 16 trousers I'm determined to never need again!

Can anyone recommend a decent (reasonably priced) set of renpho scales?

Hello all. I’ve just taken my bonus dose of 5mg pen, and managed to extract 0.7ml- would some clever soul please be able to tell me what dose this would work out to be?
