@Beanie567 what are the water drop tablets please? And what are the most pleasant flavours?

HeavyHeidi · 10/03/2025 18:30

NSV is that I can't stop admiring my slimmer face during Teams calls, feel like the original Narcissus. Cheekbones! Jawline! My cheeks won't close my eyes any more when I smile.

For me it's my neck and jawline. I was always bemoaning my short neck, turns out that it wasn't short, it was just fat Grin it's not swan like but with my proper neck and much smaller chest I can wear high necked clothes which I'm loving.

DGonMJ · 10/03/2025 18:53

@JoanCollinsDiva i switched from Juniper to Oushk after my second pen. I’m not on the FB groups as this group here seems to be supportive enough. But I went for the cheaper cost and the maintenance options. Note that delivery cost is on top of the cost of the MJ pen.
As a heads up if you try to cancel with Juniper they will offer you a £65 discount to stay but you only get it if you pay full price for the next pen, then you get the discount. And then if you proceed with the cancellation they’ll send a £50 discount to return.

@Jins i too have dropped visceral fat from 10 in January to 8 on the Renpho - something to celebrate (while ignoring the body fat % which is still over 34% for me).

Welcome to the long-time lurkers posting for the first time! And waves to those lurking who haven’t yet posted 🥸

Thanks to all those suggesting electrolytes for dizziness - will try to buy some tomorrow and see if it helps with low energy and general lack of vavavoom at work.

Also thanks to those who recommended updating travel insurance details with Mounjaro prescription. All done today and no extra costs.

@cloudjumper yes I've been tracking religiously for my whole journey and I rarely make my modest calories target. Now that I'm so near goal and a lot more active, I'm having to try and eat more. I can't eat big meals so I'm adding breakfast in which I wasn't doing before.

I've got some electrolytes and I'll give them a try tomorrow.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 10/03/2025 19:04

Sorry for the stupid question but what actually are electrolytes and what do they do?

JoanCollinsDiva · 10/03/2025 19:11

DGonMJ

Thanks that's good to know - I'm definitely going to switch to Oushk if they'll accept me as I'm planning on staying on a low dose when I reach my target I think. Bit gutted that juniper have already taken the £229 for the 7.5mg!

HeavyHeidi · 10/03/2025 19:13

@JoanCollinsDiva no harm in stockpiling a bit, you can always count the clicks if needed. Just checked my pens and they have a year until expiry.

Reallyyyyyy · 10/03/2025 20:34

I ended up adding 3 clicks. Not sure how much that is! But suppression was starting to wane! But I don't want to go too high.

cloudjumper · 10/03/2025 20:54

@MummyInTheNecropolis electrolytes are mainly salts whose components (think sodium, potassium, magnesium) have a positive or negative charge when dissolved in water - they are needed for chemical reactions in your body, e.g. muscle contraction, hydration of your cells, nutrient transport etc. A lack of electrolytes can result in headaches, fatigue, brain fog, and lots more - interestingly, diarrhea and vomiting can also be symptoms (I always thought those lead to loss of electrolytes, not that they can be a result of it).

@HeavyHeidi I hear ya', I'm also starting to see a change in my face shape now. What I don't like, though, is the saggy skin that has started to appear! I knew that this would likely be an issue for, but I don't like it, it ages me so much! But at my age (53), it's unfortunately something I might just have to accept. Hmph 😤

Beanie567 · 10/03/2025 21:40

@0ncemorewithfee1ing I like the blackcurrant flavour waterdrops myself but having said that, today I went on Amazon and ordered a multipack with four new flavours to try (including pomegranate and peach which both sounded nice). If you put ‘water drop’ in the search bar it’ll come up with them.

MananaMananaPenelope · 11/03/2025 06:29

Official weigh in day this morning and I’ve lost a measly 0.8 lb. Still on track on losertown. I ate 7100 cals during the week with all macros in a deficit relative to my calorie deficit.

Who said this was easy???

My poor abs 😭. I literally had to throw myself into a ninja like sideways roll to get up off the sofa last night. I could go to a class tonight but I think I need to wait a couple of days.

MJalltheway · 11/03/2025 06:42

Any loss is a loss @MananaMananaPenelope , keep going! I'm with you on the post-workout suffering. I could barely walk yesterday after my lower body workout Sunday. And it was quite a measly little workout too! Feeling very unfit.
supposed to go to aqua fit today but realised I've double booked myself so can't go after all.
ive put in a request to drop my hours at work, I'm really hoping if they accept I'll be able to get to more classes!

MananaMananaPenelope · 11/03/2025 06:52

I do a compressed week @MJalltheway , full time in four days. I’m finding it knackering atm and thinking of going back to a standard work pattern.

I currently do some consultancy work on my spare day (which is lucrative but also part of the problem).

I think sedentary jobs are so bad for us with long hours. I always lose a few llb on holiday, just because I’m more active.

MJalltheway · 11/03/2025 07:13

So true. i find being part-time, im very conscious of getting everything done so I literally don't move from my desk most of the day! I replaced a man working full-time at my job and do more in my part-time hours than he ever did.
I haven't been able to work full-time for years because of the pernicious anaemia, I'm just too tired. I've been doing 0.8 for the last year but it's just too much so hoping to go down to 0.7. If I work more, I don't have enough energy left for me, to spend time doing exercise or even being able to cook a meal at the end of the day!
I've been battling to try and get well enough to get back to full-time, but I've realised that I'll never be able to do it so I'm prioritising me instead.

MananaMananaPenelope · 11/03/2025 07:32

I have got pernicious anaemia too @MJalltheway . Quite well managed in my 50s. It was crippling in my late 30s.

Ive got a really good haematologist who has managed me very well (also have another blood disorder plus the recent cancer/chemo problem). That’s why sometimes all I do is work and sleep. That’s all I can manage.

I always say it’s a good job I work with my 🧠 not my 🙌.

MJalltheway · 11/03/2025 07:33

Wow, I'm in awe of how you manage MORE than a full time job @MananaMananaPenelope! Also in my 50s and much much better than I was 10 years ago when I was diagnosed but it's been a long hard road.

MananaMananaPenelope · 11/03/2025 07:55

I’m a single parent to two students @MJalltheway , I keep trucking on to fund our lifestyle, home, etc., which I like a lot.

Once DC have left uni I will have a rethink. Their father doesn’t live in the UK and has never bothered with them.

That is literally why exercise does not happen. I’m often in bed before 9pm!

MJalltheway · 11/03/2025 08:15

That must be so tough, sounds like you are doing amazingly. 🧡
We have 1 at uni and 1 about to go - shocking how much student houses etc cost!

Jins · 11/03/2025 08:41

We’re through those times now and DS1 is about to fly the nest when work on his house has finished. They were tough times with lots to juggle. I took early retirement a year or so ago and I’m much poorer but much happier. Work stress was definitely having an impact on my health. DH has cut down his hours as well.

Sunny but cold today and I’m going to force myself to push on with making curtains. If all goes well I should have the second pair unhemmed but ready to hang today. I really need to go through my wardrobe as I’m sure I boxed up some smaller sizes and I could do with seeing what’s there. Not that I need them yet! 😢

HeavyHeidi · 11/03/2025 08:58

Did my morning bodypump class and when putting away the 10kg plates, was thinking that just a couple of months ago, I walked around basically lugging that plate along the entire day. It's not a light plate.

CurlsandCurves · 11/03/2025 09:01

@MananaMananaPenelope sounds like you have a lot going on, making time to exercise is tough, well done for managing to squeeze it in. Hope your abs ease off in the coming days.

I feel very lucky being able to work part time. It’s not the best paid job (retail) but I do love it. Also have the benefit of being on my feet and moving every shift which all helps building in activity.

Weigh day here, 3lb off! So I was definitely ready to move up to 5mg. That’s 12lb in 6 weeks, I couldn’t be happier. Next mini goal is 7lb to take me into the next stone bracket. Which I last saw in 2019!

Pandora71 · 11/03/2025 09:02

@HeavyHeidi a 10kg plate is good way to think about it! Those things are significant!

Is anyone thinking about milestone rewards for themselves? I almost haven’t thought at all about this, maybe because it feels like I don’t need the additional incentive and reward this time… and it is actually working. Just keep doing what we are doing and there is no reason why we shouldn’t get to where we want to get to.

discoballv · 11/03/2025 09:17

Has anyone else found they have a weird pattern forming for their weight loss? I seem to have lost the first two weeks of 2.5, then hovered around the same weight for 2 weeks, then lost again after my bonus dose and first week of 5mg, then I've been stuck at the same weight again for well over a week.

I'm W7 D5 and have lost 1st 2lbs so far, so it's moving in the right direction but it's frustrating not seeing the scales move for so long.

Beanie567 · 11/03/2025 09:31

@MJalltheway my daughter has pernicious anaemia too and has found if she gets a bit lax with the cofactors her symptoms start to return. As a typical uni student it’s been a learning curve for her getting on top of it without me there reminding her every day! She has the injection 3x a week and high strength folate, probiotics, iron tablets and a good multivitamin. She also has to take electrolytes after exercise or if it’s been hot because her potassium will drop (think it may sweat out? Not sure how that works!) and it’s needed to make the b12 work as well.

Beanie567 · 11/03/2025 09:35

@discoballv I have exactly the same weight loss as you in the same amount of time! I’ve had two weeks where I’ve stayed the same, the first was week 2 (after a loss of 6lb in week 1) and the other was week 5 when I think I was ready to go up a dose. Do you have a lot to lose? I have two more stones to go and an hoping slow and steady means it will stay off more easily than if it whooshed off super quickly.
