Slight disappointment for me today after an unexpected whoosh this weekend. My BMI is now 25.97. I thought that would put me into normal range (and have already posted that normal BMI is in sight) but I was wrong. It needs to be under 25.

The Renpho scales have me within 0.5% of average body fat so it will be nice to see the word obese disappear. Subcutaneous fat still very high but visceral fat dropped from 9 to 8. Muscle mass has dipped very slightly but is still well into the high category so that’s all looking good.

I think I may have made a mistake ordering a 7.5mg pen but at least I have options. I’ll see how the bonus dose goes. There looks to be a good amount left in the pen

@DareDevil223 I’ve had a bit of dizziness over the weekend. I needed my PT to catch me after lifting heavy on Saturday. I thought maybe I needed more carbs ahead of the session - he recommended a banana or a couple of dates. I’d eaten a good breakfast and lunch that day but overall I think I’d been under my calories for the week leading up.

I do have a tendency to get dizzy when I lose weight, usually if I stand up too quickly. So keen to hear if anyone has any tips.

I struggled terribly with this, this weekend. I googled and it suggested tensing thighs before standing up to get the blood moving and the obvious of standing up slowly. I had some nuts to you my calories as I definitely haven't been eating enough.

I'm a similar BMI but my fat is well into obese, I think I will have to lose another 2 stone to get it out of there. I carry most of my weight on my legs so that may be why - I'm sure I read that renpho only really looks at lower body and relatively my lower body is much fatter than the rest of me. As if today only 4lbs left to get to BMI 25 though, healthy also in sight (if I ignore the fat)

Upperroom · 10/03/2025 09:34

Well I felt dreadful all week - yes, dizziness so I’ll be looking to hear what others think. Perhaps I should try some electrolytes..

Upperroom · 10/03/2025 09:35

Can anyone recommend some weight lifting online stuff?

stilllovingmysleep · 10/03/2025 09:37

@MananaMananaPenelope thank you so much for the Pilates and folded treadmill recommendations! Much appreciated

HeavyHeidi · 10/03/2025 09:45

@Upperroom I like Caroline Girvan. You can choose a series to follow or just pick random classes depending what you fancy and how much time you have.

Jins · 10/03/2025 10:31

@tinyemmy I have skinny hips and legs and a great fat tummy so my Renpho scales are likely being kind. I’ll take it though.

I tried on last years swim suits thinking I may need to alter them. They are still a bit tight with rolls of fat bulging out but the rolls are smaller. I must have looked a right state last year

myladyjane · 10/03/2025 11:00

@Upperroom if you are brand new to weights something like fitbymik or bodyfit by Amy may also be good. I have a lot of junk in the trunk and a long standing injury so even though I've done weights before with a PT I have to take it slow.

I think I was blinded to how awful I looked, thank god we are on this journey. I will look much better in a few months time!

stilllovingmysleep · 10/03/2025 11:33

@Upperroom sorry to hear about the fatigue. I've struggled with that too recently. I seem to be going through these high energy (=overwork) versus collapse / fatigue cycles. I don't want to attribute this to MJ as it was there before but I've noticed the 2 days after jabbing on the 5mg can be a bit rough and lots of self care needed

I'm learning to really lean into what my body wants and rest enough on the weekends.
I have also started taking all devices out of bedroom and going to bed with no phone there and only a book: that seems to really be helping my sleep.

stilllovingmysleep · 10/03/2025 11:34

@tinyemmy I'm also finding 5 mg (3rd week) really effective, has cut down my appetite quite radically.

DareDevil223 · 10/03/2025 08:56

Morning all. I went up to 7.5mg this week. As I've been on Wegovy for a long time before I'm moving up fairly quickly. The only side effect that I've started having is a slight dizziness or occasional feeling of disorientation. I never had that on Wegovy.

I do have low blood pressure generally so that won't be helping. And maybe I need to start eating a bit more! Has anyone had this too? I'm thinking that electrolytes might help also.

@DareDevil223
Absolutely about electrolytes
Even water with some lemon juice / a pinch of sea salt would help
A good multivitamin too
And maybe iron with some orange juice?

sociallydistained · 10/03/2025 13:55

MissPobjoysPonies · 09/03/2025 21:00

So on Jan 10 but 2nd 5mg and I’ve got an itchy raised red area at the jab site (also happened on 1st 5mg jab but I thought it was a bug bite!) anyway wondered if anyone else has had this?

i am 19lbs down in so slow and steady but not exciting losses :)

I've had this for the first time on jab 10 but was a bonus dose I think I stuck the needle in too far as it's longer but I don't know.
I had an actual allergic reaction on week 3 of 2.5 for 2 weeks running also but haven't had that since. My skin is quite reactive so I'm not too worried. Just random!

cloudjumper · 10/03/2025 14:43

@DareDevil223 I would def recommend taking electrolytes. And drink drink drink!

Are you tracking what you eat? Appreciate that checking calories is not everyone's cup of tea, however, I do think that with MJ, undereating is a real risk, and feeling flat/having dizzy spells/low energy are hallmarks of not having enough fuel. Even more so if you're exercising on top of that! When I was doing the Fast 800 last year, the first thing I noticed was how I was suddenly struggling to function in every aspect, but especially in the gym. E

So I had my first 'adverse' reaction to food yesterday - I had a cupcake with quite a large amount of buttercream icing, and I felt really sick afterwards! I have noticed that I struggle with high-fat foods, and I will avoid them even more now.

In other news, I do miss being able to poop normally... 😜It is such an effort at the moment!

JoanCollinsDiva · 10/03/2025 16:19

I don't know what to do about going up to 7.5mg. Juniper has taken payment for the 7.5mg pen today but I'm getting really strong suppression on 5mg and struggling to hit 900-1000 calories most days. I did my third 5mg jab yesterday and feel quite nauseous today. I'm also getting the dizziness when I stand up which could be low blood pressure but I'm sure lack of food isn't helping. I'm 5"8" so should probably be eating a lot more.

Do you think I should just let them send the 7.5mg and count clicks? I'm worried if I order another 5mg it might wear off in the next week or two and then il kick myself.

How are those of you on 7.5mg doing so far?

Im also a bit shocked that the 7.5mg pen is £229! I've no idea what the maintenance plan is on Juniper or whether they even have one, so I may swap to oushk instead but I've no idea if it's any cheaper.

Exactly the same here Jins - I hit the 11's on Friday and thought I'd be in the healthy range now but no - still overweight. Just saw an old friend who was saying how skinny I look and she was shocked when I told her I'm still classed as overweight! I'm trying not to take too much notice of it. I wore a size 10 coat at the weekend that I couldn't get on at Christmas so I'll focus on that instead 😆

Jins · 10/03/2025 16:39

@JoanCollinsDiva the 7.5mg pen is £165 on Oushk and the 10mg isn’t much more. There’s a code for your first order to take £30 off and the Facebook group usually has a £15 off code.

I’ve got a 7.5mg pen in the fridge and in some ways I think I should have stayed at 5mg so I’m planning on doing 50 clicks to start with and see how that goes. I’ve still got the bonus dose to do from my 5mg pen so it’s all a bit undecided

Beanie567 · 10/03/2025 16:51

Weigh day!
Another 2lb down which I’m happy about. Started at 15.1 and now 13.13. Aiming for 12.1 so a long way to go.

Re weight training - Ive just started adding Les Mills workouts into my week, they have strength training which I’ve been following but also Bodypump and all their other classes (Body Attavk and Body Combat are my favourites). I used use them then stopped my subscription but started up via Firestick (so my Amazon account) at only £12.99 a month and first month free.

And re dizziness, I used to get the dizzy, faint feeling and yes, electrolytes are the way forward. I religiously have a tablet every morning and I also bought some water drop tablets that go in a pint glass of water (that’s how I have it anyway!) which I drink throughout the day. That has definitely the problem out for me.

JoanCollinsDiva · 10/03/2025 16:56

Jins

Thankyou that's really helpful - I've been put off joining oushk bc of the need to send a full body shot with head but with that discount I may have to take the plunge! I'm really paranoid about uploading photos online.

Jins · 10/03/2025 17:05

@JoanCollinsDiva they have just started doing weight verification video calls for existing patients and I think they may be doing it for new sign ups as well. I’m not sure if they’d ask for a photo now. It’s part of the procedure tightening measures I believe.

I’m feeling pretty grim on 7.5 tbh- cold, nauseous, sulphur burps, exhausted and now have a migraine- possibly unrelated but my first in over a year and have had none of the things that have previously triggered it! I think if 5 is working, stick with it! FWIW I paid much less for my 7.5mg, here’s the latest list, suggests Oushk is £135 so big saving! https://monj.co.uk/discount-mounjaro-price-list/

We’re the same height, you’re going amazingly being so near goal! Over 2 stone before I get to the 11s, well done!

Thought I should finally say Hi having lurked here since mid January.

SW 80kg
CW 73.5kg

I started on 2.5, felt fine with maybe a bit of suppression, but I wasn’t sure if it was more about the fact that I was really listening to my body. Took last dose from that pen at 3.75 which was totally fine, then moved up to 5. Three doses at 5 later, the side effects each week are not compatible with normal life. Cramps but mostly awful diarrhoea from 2-4 days after injection. So this week I’ve gone down to 4, no bad side effects but now I’m antsy because I want to nibble again. Can it really be this finely balanced?? I guess maybe I’ll try 4.5 next week.

Anyway, that’s the downside. Upside, I feel like I’m getting my body back. I fit my clothes better, today I’m wearing a button-through shirt that I haven’t worn in ages because it was gaping. I’m (just) into merely overweight rather than obese and, most miraculously, my blood pressure which was high before is now back in the normal range. Talk about a love-hate relationship! This is the only way I’ve been able to lose weight in years though so I’m definitely persevering. And when I’m not worrying about being near a loo I feel amazing.

MananaMananaPenelope · 10/03/2025 18:22

Welcome @Aimingdown . That’s a decent loss isn’t it. Hopefully you’ve found a level that works for you. I’m always struck by how differently we all tolerate it.

HeavyHeidi · 10/03/2025 18:30

NSV is that I can't stop admiring my slimmer face during Teams calls, feel like the original Narcissus. Cheekbones! Jawline! My cheeks won't close my eyes any more when I smile.
