Pretty sure a few hours does not make a difference. I've never been religious about timing of mine.

My two attacks of side effects have both been two days after jabbing. One was third week of 2.5 and the other was second week of 5.

This is me too! Second week of 5mg and jabbed on Friday and have been so uncomfortable today. Started yesterday, but worse today. Am thinking of going back down to 4 on my next jab. I haven't eaten anything different so it must just be the jab. My weight loss is always high on the weekend then slows to zero in the week, but I'm willing to sacrifice some weight loss for comfort!!

MananaMananaPenelope · 09/03/2025 19:11

@stilllovingmysleep I bought a folding treadmill last year, I've got a couple of other things that I haven't felt up to using. I am not a runner, never have been. I was a club rower for more than 40 years (until the big C), my dream is to be fit enough to go back to rowing on the water and carry on into my very old age, maybe next year.

I'm in the office every day these days and rarely take any time to do anything other than eat at my desk at lunchtime. That's why I bought the treadmill, to make myself do something on my long work days when I leave home in the dark and get home in the dark. I've been a bit too tired to follow through with it every day of the week tbh.

This is a completely free resource if you fancy anything like pilates. This basic intro is 17 minutes long. Mind you, it is probably very different to Joe Wicks. 😂

supafish · 09/03/2025 19:32

Evening everyone, I sts for the first time last week , was most upset ! Done nothing different but the body decided to hang on to the pounds this week . I'm a slow looser anyway, 1 or 2 pounds a week max - how I'd love a 6 pound loss just once ! Trying to stay positive , total loss of 15 pounds so far , still 14.11 , still obese ! I will plod on !! Trust the process 🤦‍♀️

Reallyyyyyy · 09/03/2025 20:28

Just about to do my 8th Injection. I have my new pen in the fridge for next week. But now wandering if I should have gone up to 5mg. Should I double dose today and then double dose next week then order a next pen early? Or stick to 2.5 mg?

I have lost 12 kilos in 8 weeks.

MissPobjoysPonies · 09/03/2025 21:00

So on Jan 10 but 2nd 5mg and I’ve got an itchy raised red area at the jab site (also happened on 1st 5mg jab but I thought it was a bug bite!) anyway wondered if anyone else has had this?

i am 19lbs down in so slow and steady but not exciting losses :)

Not from MJ but I also inject myself weekly with B12 as I have pernicious anaemia and this sometimes happens with no rhyme or reason. It shouldn't be an issue unless it gets worse and shows signs of infection.

Thanks :)

Randomusernameforcode · 09/03/2025 22:27

Great reading everyone's progress and experiences.

I've had a more positive few days after my wobble before where I was feeling fed up of the whole process and a bit flat.
Made more of an effort to make myself some nicer meals and have ordered some recipie kits off simply cook.

Done my 11th jab today. I've done 5 weeks at 3.75 and took a full dose of 5 out the pen using a syringe today. (6 doses in total and day 35 of the pen).
Will be doing full 5 doses from the next pen providing I don't start with any major side effects.

My weigh day isn't until Tuesday but I've been so happy this weekend being able to wear two different tops that I've not been able to for into for a couple of years 😁.

Onwards and downwards everyone!

MananaMananaPenelope · 10/03/2025 06:32

@Randomusernameforcode that must be a lovely feeling.

I bought a L sized fleece yesterday, it felt great to be able to buy a 16-18. I know sizes are all over the place but I bought a Berghaus fleece in an 18 last winter and it was so small/tight/sausageroll like that I returned it.

I’d presumed that my abs had been surgically removed two years ago, no, they are screaming at me every time I move after tha class I attended yesterday 😅.

Daily weight 97.2kg, same as yesterday, this morning.

Have a good Monday losers!

NothankyouNigel · 10/03/2025 06:43

@Reallyyyyyy why don’t you try 3.75? 12 kg in 8 weeks is an amazing loss!

Im week 9 I think and about to take 2nd 3.75 dose. Moving up last week was the right thing to do for me.

SW = 78 ( prev 82 but 78 when started MJ)
CW = 67.9
GW = 60

It was fascinating reading how many of you have hypermobility. I don’t ( well only in 1 elbow) but I do have other diagnosed joint issues. I really struggle with clicky thighs though which makes many Pilates / glute exercises really difficult. The constant popping is so uncomfortable- wonder if it’s maybe related.

@Reallyyyyyy I'd stay at the lowest possible dose if I were you! If you've lost 12 kilos in 8 weeks you've done more than enough, that's a great sustainable rate of weight loss

Jjsmum2007 · 10/03/2025 07:22

Just thought I'd check my bmi as haven't done it since starting. Have just slid into the Overweight section from Obese yay. This works out at 11 st 2 for me. But omg it said for my height of 5'1 a supposedly Healthy weight range is 7 stone to 9 st 6! That's absurd! Last time I was 7 stone was probably about age 8 lol! 🙄

HeavyHeidi · 10/03/2025 07:33

I have seen several specialists stating that if the lowest dose works, don't move up. Makes sense as well - if it stops working, you will have more options. And yes, 12 kilos in 8 weeks is a great loss!

Yes BMI really doesn't work on individual level.I apparently could go down to 51 kilos. When I was a very slim size 8/10 with no fat on me, I was 62 kilos. There's no way I would have had extra 10 kilos on me to lose and still be healthy.
But I was accidentally fed some SkinnyTok videos on TikTok, OMG. People posting that they aim to be 38 kilos, 45 kilos - I can only hope those women are all about 4ft tall.

Wk8 day1 here.
feeling rather deflated. Have lost only 1lb this week..
have also felt extremely fatigued all week.
due my last 5mg today.
due to the fatigue I didn’t do much exercise but I would say I was still in a calorie deficit most days…
it’s odd but I feel like I can’t even imagine loosing more weight now like 10st 6lb is the blocker and this is it - I’ll never manage to get below 10st. I remember being 9.6st in my 20s and felt fantastic…
Disclaimer- I know I’m being rather pathetic!

Has anyone else found 5mg really hard? The dr I see for Botox - goes from 2.5mg to 7.5mg as she finds 5 not good- any ideas why?! Not due to see her until autumn! It’s also my bday next weekend and was hoping to feel slimmer than this.. but I also feel flat about being 43! Think I’m having a peri hormonal low!

I'm 5'1.5 but I pretended that I was 5'2 for years as it helped with my BMI! I was around 9 stone for my 20s and 30s my 40s saw me slide up to almost 12 stone. I spent most of my 20s and 30s trying to get to 8 stone 7. It was such a struggle, but now I feel like it is totally possible. I just worry whether I can maintain it (probably only by staying on mj, which I'm willing to do!). 7 stone just seems ridiculous!! I guess different body shapes suit different weights. I carry a lot of weight on my legs and at 9 stone, even below 9 stone they are still quite chunky so I could be tempted to get them less chunky!

43 isn't so bad, I'm 45 next birthday and so my closest big birthday is 50, how did that happen!?
I find 5mg really strong. I don't think I will move up. I don't really have any side effects (I am on dose 5 of 5mg, I think I probably did the first couple of weeks) but I just don't want to eat

Upperroom · 10/03/2025 08:55

Thanks @tinyemmy gosh I sound pathetic! I suppose I’m slightly concerned I might now have to do intense exercise to carry on loosing as that seems to be the advice if one plateaus. I really don’t like exercising apart from general walking! 😩

DareDevil223 · 10/03/2025 08:56

Morning all. I went up to 7.5mg this week. As I've been on Wegovy for a long time before I'm moving up fairly quickly. The only side effect that I've started having is a slight dizziness or occasional feeling of disorientation. I never had that on Wegovy.

I do have low blood pressure generally so that won't be helping. And maybe I need to start eating a bit more! Has anyone had this too? I'm thinking that electrolytes might help also.

I don't think you need to do intense exercise, but if you aren't doing on average 8-10,000 steps per day work your way up to that.
Also look at what you're eating, we need to think about what we are going to eat in maintenance and work towards that, it's no good loving on shakes etc if as soon as we hit maintenance we are out for pie and chips (note to self here).
I skip breakfast, light lunch, normal dinner, just one pudding! Treats if I want them, e.g. at the moment when I go out for dinner I eat what I want (it's usually just once a month or less and at the moment I can only eat about a quarter of what's in my plate) in the future I will probably have to eat healthier things, skip pudding etc when I go out for dinner. Although I hope mj has retrained my stomach and I just eat less

DGonMJ · 10/03/2025 09:08

@DareDevil223 I’ve had a bit of dizziness over the weekend. I needed my PT to catch me after lifting heavy on Saturday. I thought maybe I needed more carbs ahead of the session - he recommended a banana or a couple of dates. I’d eaten a good breakfast and lunch that day but overall I think I’d been under my calories for the week leading up.

I do have a tendency to get dizzy when I lose weight, usually if I stand up too quickly. So keen to hear if anyone has any tips.

Well I felt dreadful all week - yes, dizziness so I’ll be looking to hear what others think. Perhaps I should try some electrolytes..

Agree you don’t need to do intense exercise. Walking is good for burning calories, and any cardio is good for heart health and mental health, but I’d also suggest some strength building - the more muscle you have the higher your metabolism will be. When I went for my Bupa health check the doctor said one of the reasons women start to gain weight post-40 is because our muscle mass starts to deplete due to a change in hormones. The only thing to prevent this is to do strength training - yoga, Pilates or weights.
